I’m teaching myself to crochet at age 80 using RUclips videos. I’m looking for just small projects and this is one ill be doing today. Very well explain and shown, at least, in my limited viewpoint when it comes to crochet. Thank you so much. I can do this!
That is amazing. I have been crochet since I was 12. I'm 65 now and yet I just learned a new trick. I have never done the rib brim ever like you just showed me. See you can teach old dogs new tricks. I am from now on going to make my hats like this. Thank you.
Absolutely love this pattern. Especially how the binding is added on. I’ve always wonder if it could be done another way. You just showed me how to do it. Thank you so much
🎉🎉I made a hat for my baby.. I did 12 rows and a brim .. it’s a navy hat with cream brim. Crocheted the hat end of pregnancy and finished the brim after having the baby.. he is 2 weeks old today .. put his beautiful little hat .. it’s really cute for my little man.. thank you !
Too cute. Love the brim! I use the chain two as well. Closes up the gap. Love the way you done the little brim. I make these and donate to Newborn Nurseries. Thanks.
I have spent countless hours going through videos. You are by far the easiest to follow. I’m in the middle of this project and find it very easy to follow. Thank you!!
Thank you for being a great instructor. I'm a beginner. I made the newborn hat and it came out right the first time I made it. You are very easy to follow
Thanks for the tutorial. I found it really helpful in making my first baby hat. I particularly liked that you showed exactly where to put the crochet hook and I was able to see clearly. Other crochet instructional videos are not detailed enough, and you can't actually see exactly where the hook is going. I look forward to making more of your pieces.
Awesome!!! Got to do this for a great grand newborn in our family! Thank you for showing how to close up that ribbing!! A lot of videos show how to do the ribbing but not how to close it and you did it beautifully! Thanks!!

My hat's brim didn't lay flat like yours. It makes the brim fan out, almost like a sunhat. I don't know if it's just the type of yarn I practiced on. Or that I used a size larger hook than you did. 🤦♀️
@@bethhayes4882 It's possible you added too many stitches to your brim causing it to fan out. It's also possible that you need to go down a hook size. Try going down one hook size and see if that makes a difference :)

If you’re using the same brim I’m using, I ended up chaining 6 for the height. You’re always welcome to chain more to make the brim thicker. I did not measure the brim of my hat, but I’d say anywhere between 1-2 inches would be a safe bet.

Please advise? will the size of the hook determine the size of the hat?
@@StargrlAnnywz Yes, the size of the hook and yarn will determine how big the hat will turn out. If you're using a smaller crochet hook, you will need to make more rounds until you get your desired hat size. Likewise, for a larger hook, you probably need less rounds for your hat.
Hey thank you! Very clear! My hat came out perfect :) i made mine with some wool yarn and it was a bit tricky lol. I’m so excited tho! I’m giving it to the first baby in our family this coming August 😊 (my nephew)

@@AmandaCrochets definitely i already make 5 hats and making another one but this time im using 3MM hook will that hat comes smaller? the yarn i am using is baby yard recommended hook 4mm but i used a smaller one and as i am doing row 6 i realized is coming smaller.
