I've made lots and lots of baby beanies for charity and I'd like to say your video is the best I've seen. I especially like the idea of not counting the 2ch up - your method makes a much neater "seam".

Great video, my granddaughter who is 11 sat here and crochet one all by herself, I just kept checking for any mistakes and showed her what she did wrong and she corrected it.

I really appreciate your demonstration of the "magic ring". That's a technique that I had heard of and seen mentioned in patterns, but had never figured out how to do until I watched you doing it and then copied what you were doing with a hook and some scrap yarn. No more "vent holes" in the centers of projects worked in the round, yay! Thank you for showing this!

I’m very confused. I’m using red heart yarn which is 4 medium weight and the same size hook. When you measured the circle it was just under 4” and mine was 5”. I adjusted mine so it was 4” and now my hat is too narrow. Help me make sense of this please. I’m trying to make some hats for my local hospital for the February born babies heart charity.

Absolutely loved this video. I have tried so many different videos for when my newborn twins arrive and honestly I havent got on with them.
It would be great if there was a smaller size for twins because they are likely to be smaller when born. Not necessarily a tutorial but the stitches would be so helpful. Might help some premie babies too xx

Great tutorial, I was able to follow along perfectly. Only issue I had was I used the wrong type of yarn and my hook was 5.5m,, so made a bigger and less sturdy hat. Still - if I followed the advice properly I wouldn’t have had that issue.

Magic loop, then one DC, and 12 DC’s count 13 DC’S. Join with a loop.
Chain 2, then 2 DC’in the same stitch, and 2DC’s in each stitch. and join it with a slip stitch.
Do a two chain, then 2 dc in the same chain, then 1 DC in the next 2 chain each, then 2 dc in one chain and then one dc in each chain continue till the end.
You should have 48 stches not including the joining chain. ( measure ) across,
Chain 2, then a dc in the same stitch, then 1 DC in one chain each, go to 12 rounds, finish it off.
    Thanks a lot.
