Grim Dawn devs deserve medal for keep improving the already great game for years even though it's not a live service.

Non-live service games get supported all the time. This is nothing out of the ordinary.
Just proves how greedy others are.
A non live service game getting better ongoing support than many live service games. Quality devs are worth supporting.
Sadly game has many multiplayer bugs since years. Very sad from devs.
@@theobell2002theirs upgrades are not small & meaningful. Also updates are mostly 3-4 years max & becouse of DLC/delays reasons. Sometimes visual update or other minor (comparible) things. Best DLC are fan made (Hota heroes3)

Grim Dawn is 2016? I am doing year breaks & it's always nice to back playing this, becouse they make/add/replace small things in all (game) areas & not calling this DLC/support or at least being just honest.

Crate Entertainment is the epitome of a great PC game company. Wish we had more of those.
It's really hard to change existing game like this, really amazing job.
Recently got into this and Titan Quest. I’ll be buying all the DLC for both these games because these are the types of games and developers I want to support. Looking forward to the TQ sequel too

Well there is a mod for Grim Dawn called "Dawn of Masteries" in which you will find classes from Titan Quest to play, so you may want to check it out. Also this mod qives you an ability to enhance number of spawning monsters, commons as well as elite ones. :)
By far the best ARPG on the market, because it solves the one problem that all ARPGs have struggled with. Massive amount of content, that allows for meaningful rates of great loot drops WITH a great variety, which allows one to experiment with the absolute crazy variety of builds. Nobody has HOURS AND HOURS to grind out in single place like a zombie any longer. v 1.2.0 has improved this further by reducing quantity and improving quality of loot drops.
And the lore is simply awesome as well.
The new mastery supposedly will focus on cold and bleed damage. I feel like we already have enough skills that focus on those damage types. There's a district lack of chaos and, to a lesser extent, aether damage skills.
I have 4k hours in Grim Dawn. Can’t wait to go back and play a new expansion.
love the marker for double rares and monster infrequents. thats one thing that has always frustrated me while poking around for good green items.

NICE! New DLC! Perfect timing, I'm in the last act of Baldur's Gate 3 with second playthrough, looking foeward for new content in Grim Dawn! Gotta check if Reign of Terror mod received an update!

I liked Diablo 4 but the fun fizzled out. I got into Grim Dawn and definitely feel buyers remorse now. It is a much superior ARPG.
Always great to see devs who have more passion than business model profit and social political agendas. Just there to make great games, and make decent money to continue their passion.
Grim Dawn is the GOAT. You should definitely play Ultimate and explore all the endgame content the game has to offer. Even now its already worth it. Please Tenkiei, give it a shot before the update, you'll be even more compelled to play after
If there was a way to do it without having to play through Elite I would. But I've played through the story 3 times, enjoyed the game thoroughly 3 times and gotten to a point where I'm entering elite and just don't want to do the same thing again so I level up for a bit on Shattered Realms or Crucible and put the game down.
@@Tenkiei I understand if it felt repetitive. But you likely felt OP because of shattered realm and crucible. They are really good for levelling alts, but if you use them on your main, you'd be skipping a lot of progression imo.
Just sharing this hoping it would be an incentive:
Pushing shattered realm levels at ultimate is a whole different feel, let alone fighting unique bosses that are hidden by hidden quests.
@@TenkieiIf you know what you are doing you can ran through elite in a few hours and never need to play it or normal again. So long as you have forgotten gods expansion.
@@TenkieiIf you have the Forgotten Gods DLC, you can buy merits that allow you to skip difficulties. You could even start on ultimate with a level 1 character.
@@awfulfalafelwafflerofl2800 You can do that now with the 1.2 update. You can now start a character on any difficulty you want or play through all of them, the merits are only needed now if you want to unlock the portals in the game without having to go find them first.

Hope this comes to console sooner rather then later, would love a 4k visual update as the game is not the hottest thing to look at. Great to hear that they are still working on the game
Man, running this at 4k would be a mess on console. Even with a 3080, grim dawn stutters.
@@mcgruber it suffers from stutters now after the last update, even if it aint 4k they need to improve visuals because its not a great game to look at.
I am new in grimdawn and i have very enjoyable timewith it. A lot of innovation compare to other ARPG i'v played and with this 1.2 its just getting better and better. Few suggestion. 1.have a depensive comparison also like n equiped weapon. then when you press a keey you'll see their direct comparrisons. 2. increase storage capasity for collectible items or have a specific slot for those items as shared stash that have tier tabs based on levels.
I hope we can bind our healing and mana potions with other potions
GD has always been my fallback game while waiting on POE content, super refreshing to see developers show this kind of love and dedication to their game
I don’t know how people tolerate POE.
The game is dysfunctional without micro transactions, the player is under a barrage global chat, global notifications, micro transaction advertisements, the balance and itemization and character builds are thrown out every few weeks to sell a new “battle pass”.
In other words POE is a prime example of the “game as a service” business model.

The only agreeable point you make is stash tabs, which is fine, since the game is free and gives you quarterly major updates for free
@@Handle35667 nah you're definetly misinformed, you can filter chat, and the only microtransactions that are necessary are stash tabs and they're only necessary after you've played for a damn while. the economy of the game is not dependent whatsoever on microtransactions. i still don't like how autistic that game is but it's not what you're trying to portray it as. the skins are too expensive in my opinion too but you can be dripped the hell out without them. and they carry from POE 1 to 2 and vice versa if possible.

?_? I have about 49 red potions and never feel the need to go into town to buy any. I have had to spam potions at times when facing stuff that popped out of savage totems, but always got them back rather quickly. It probably won't but it would be cool to have the potion thing as an option. I pick up everything and dont mind it because I like items and selling stuff. I will check out a loot filter.

I've had the game for a while and all the DLCs. I finally finished Forgotten Gods after the patch. I always wanted to go back, but this was the impetus to get me going. I finished the base game and Ashes of Malmouth about 4 years ago.
After titan quest2, now a new expansion for grim dawn, my favorite arpgs getting more content, what a day

Wow that's awesome. I always thought it was a great shame that Grim Dawn didn't get the treatment that POE had, since there is SOOO much potential for this game and I prefer this over POE or D4. Someone should bankroll these people and have them create Grim Dawn 2.

Edit: @Tenkiei if you have already won the game at least once you can buy tokens to skip to the next difficulty on the encampment of the three. If you're starting fresh, one thing you can do is. Ignore the "tutorial" part and go straight for Loghorrean, then you'll be able to move to the next difficulty. Once in ultimate you can buy the tokens to jump difficulty.
I ended up with 1000s of potions in my stash, so many dropped it was annoying lol.
Man how do you get grim dawn to run so smoothly or are you just using motion smoothing on the vids. My desktop and my laptop are more than capable to run this but it still gets occasional stutters and performance issues.
the dodge button cannot be upgraded to a more powerful dodge currently, i hope that changes when dlc drops.
It would be really cool if you could transform into a stormbird.
Are the characters, that we are making for the playtest, gonna be permanent or will they be deleted?

Oh man, dumped 250hrs in this back when forgotten gods released! After a 6year loot-grind burnout it's time to go through it again :D Last time I had performance issues in malmouth, but I'm not rocking an fx-series cpu anymore! Time to try making my own build this time, although I loved demolitionist+nightblade (saboteur) in ultimate at every point.
When you pick up the game again are you going to do a fresh start?

So awesome to still some passionate Devs in the gaming market. If they had only wanted money, they would've moved on to work on something else, but they stayed and kept trying to perfect their craft. The game is balanced to perfection and kept on improving somehow

oh man I have forgotten the OP builds I had but it definitely involved a Big two handed Club and a sh*t ton of lightning procs and skills, I stopped playing March 27 2020 with 1410.6 hours in, and 159/185 achievements completed. And now they're pulling me back! ok fine!

I hope the potion buttons are re-assignable, since those are set to my skills. Since WASD doesn't do anything here (really), I've remapped them.
How does the "less items dropping" change affect earning money? Less items dropping means less to sell, so I hope that's considered.
The symbol on the map and the drop sound for important loot will be an AWESOME addition. My FOMO will be eased.
They said that there will be much more iron bits (money) dropping to compensate that.
More money drops to balance the economy, and yes you can assign the potion buttons.

@@viewtifuljoe4412 I believe I went Sentinel, Occultist mix i think and had converted most of the skills to acid/poison.
@@viewtifuljoe4412Same! Shield buffs work so well together. Most my points still go into Oath though, minimal into warrior except certain skills and passives.
@@dustycinnabon611I used the Grim Dark editing program to allocate my points away from Demo into Oath and it feels so much better ^_^ If you have any advice on builds I would be happy to learn.

From listening to a lot of devtalks from Satisfactory I learned that developers tend to use "complete" as a non-definitive term. Complete by definition means to have all the required/necessary or apropriate components. When you release a game in 1.0 and you'd be happy to charge full price for it, that game is "complete". It could contain many more elements however so it is not definitive. Looking at PoE I'd not say it's an incomplete game, there's LOADS to do and even sinking 200 hours into it every 3 months you don't get bored quickly. By all means I'd say the game is complete, it has everything it needs to be a fullfledged gaming experience. But PoE has content updates every 3 months so it is least of all definitive.
Yeah, complete is a nebulous term. Also, the Satisfactory dev talks are pretty neat. I've never played the game but I do watch their dev talks frequently.

I hope the Devs will promote this game more, it has still the potential to get a large playerbase and with regular seasons and updates it surpasses Diablo 3 and 4 on all fronts.

Grim dawn is already a great game. I play all the time still after 8 years. I really hope the Dev's learn from what Diablo 3 did and avoid it at all cost. Don't make too many changes all at once and nerf peoples builds. Just add more content and levels and little Q.O.L updates. Please don't screw it up..!!!
Grim Dawn is a live letter to the older, better ARPGs, not the streamlined dumbed down for casuals Diablo 3 & 4.
I did not hear anything about nerfing builds just changes to potions and loot. I think they want us to have crazy ass class builds.
In short, dev decreases quantity but increases rarity drop.
Well this was unexpected. When I saw titan quest II I thought GD was gone for good.
On some TQ2 vid comment, I said to commenter who say same thing like you that, "nah, GD probably would get sudden expansion first, just like TQ anniversary". Didn't expect it made quite soon

They're making the Crate Engine 2 which will be used for their upcoming game. It's not confirmed that the engine will be used for Grim Dawn 2 that was just a joke on my part.
The real question is why isnt there a sequel yet..... wtf is CRATE even doing.

I feel like redesigning core feauters of GD is really contraproductive, the game is really outdated nowdays, they can't really do much to change that. Like just the dodge roll ability feels completely alien from the game because the whole game just designed around boring basic attacks, which was fine back then, but nowdays it's really hard to justify a game where even main bosses has nothing more than just boring basic attacks and mob spam/aoe dmg hell. Less trash is good, one of the thing I really hate in arpg's, but I kinda skeptical about the others. They really should do a new game instead with more advanced core.
Grim dawn was a great game. its far superior to Diablo 4. That's the difference between a group of ppl who loves the genre and an enorumous committee with zero love

Tbh i dont like potions being Unlimited. Potions had a meaning Simply cause different level of recovery potions existed. Making It Unlimited Means they Will give you a specific potions that most likely Will not be the strongest One. To further Say, o never really bought potions at exception of Maybe once in my entire grim dawn thousands of gameplay hours, since enemies drops them, chest drops them and so on. Im not a fan of losing potions types in all honesty.
The potions have a cool down so they aren’t unlimited. The mechanic works. Keeps the good gameplay and gets rid of the bad.
Wish they'd make a second Grim Dawn. My main issues with the game are graphics and how most builds seem to feel the same at endgame, ie. stand and spam your attacks in a similar playstyle to boneshatter. Sure skills look different, but you're doing the same thing in the end
They have confirmed that they're working on a new engine for Grim Dawn 2. It's 100% coming, just probably not in the next 5 years at the minimum.
Is this worth playing? I heard its an offline game which I barely play anymore. Seems like a waste of time.

what they should have done instead of fundamentally REWORKING THE MECHANICS of a game from 2016, is made a new one. I'm not happy with this 'Sundered' b.s.. I like the infinite potions I do not appreciate the heavy handed approach with everything else. It just goes to show that when a player 'buys' on of these games there is no guarantee that the developer will not ruin it at some point. It's a crap shoot really, it can either be improved or in this case ruined. I got my money's worht out of it, I will just uninstall it and play Diablo IV when it's available on STEAM. All that work it took for 4 characters to obtain the gear and other additions to build up resistance and now it's been shattered by the developers with 'sundered' and 'dodge'. They are experimenting with the mechanics of a game that's been established for the past 9 years. Personally, I think it sucks because the fact of the matter is we can't refund it if we're not happy about it. All of these drastic ideas require a new version of this game or a different game. Grim Dawn was Grim Dawn but now it's just a test bed for the Developers at Crate. I'll give it a try since I have had the game for years and have established characters but I know I'm not going to like it.
