Baldur's Gate 3 - Fighter Solo Raphael on Tactician in 2 Turns

- For this fight I used Crawler Mucus Poison. If Targed fail Constitution Saving Throw it will be Paralised for 2 turns. Paralised is powerfull Status Effect. Entity can't move or take actions and attacks aganist entity are always critical hits if the attacker is within 3m. I never used those potions before, but for this fight its amazing since Raphael have high hp poll and alot of AC. I found them in Act 2 from nurses in Malus Thorm fight.
Игры
In dnd one turn takes around 6 seconds in real time. Raphael POV must have been something like facing helm's deep bowmaster
I would be frightened as hell. Imagine him being paralysed and this fucking guy is sending arrows after arrows like crazy.
Dat coomment on Deep bowmaster keep me laugthin 1 entire minute
Lvl 20 fighters at max optimization can attack up to 10 times per turn. You’d blink and half the room is dead
In real time it's like blasting him with a machine gun
@@TheMasterUnity "yOu HaVe A sAnDeViStAn??!!
everything about this fight was so hype, i was looking forward to fighting him since alpha and they really did deliver with the music and everything. the "down comes the claw" line is just amazing.
This quest was so fun. I played it like a stealth mission until the very last showdown. Had to fight to get out. Will definitely remember this one for a while. Larian raised the bar in quests for me. And this wasn’t even a mandatory quest.
When he the music changed and started singing at me and calling me a loser I was DYING
I found out about this fight, when I looked at the soundtrack.
In my first playthrough it never occured. I met Raphael in Act I and Act II but after slaying the Orthon in Shars Tomb, I never met him again
😅
@@scaramouche7759 Same. This is the highlight of act 3 for me. That battle song is super nice too. Really immersive that Raphael voice is on the song as well taunting us haha.
If only the rest of Act 3 was this good
I love how fights can be solved differently. I walked up and smited him as a paladin/tempest cleric.
How many Smites did you need? Even if you Maximized a critical Smite, it should only do about 200 damage?
@@kx7670 requires more set up but it was. Make him wet. Cast brand the weak. Thunderous smite with Channel divinity. Gurantee crit than upcast divine smite to spell slot 4. Half orc for more crit damage. If I remember right he was pretty much dead by the second smite
Smite? When i used radiant dmg it damaged the caster aswel so how would this work?
Gigachad paladin "woah bro that's cool I just walked up to him and oneshot him with smite haha"
24 strenght and 18 charisma paladin with giant slayer sword: I'm gonna smite you to shadowfell!
Let's see: Haste and Guiding Bolt from Gontr Mael bow; Brand the Weak from Amulet of Branding; Executioner from Killer's Sweetheart (ring); 2 Acid damage from Caustic Band (ring); Reeling effect from Adamantine armor or shield; At least 11 levels in Fighter to get Improved Extra Attack; Subclass is Champion; Feats are Alert, Sharpshooter, Lucky; Elixir of Bloodlust for an extra action.
Can't tell how you get to 29 AC.
There is epic medium armor that ignores +2 ac limit, so 17 base and +5 from 20 dex. 2 shield, 1 cloak, 1 boots, 1 defence fighting style, 2 haste.
@@thorusin Ah right, Armor of Agility.
@jesseanderson1904 Please keep being stupid and call everybody nerd. Losers of such breed like yourself are an amusement to a lot of us. Never stop being you. Have a good day.
Well go on then dum dum, say something clever.
@@DemintikaMighty expensive armor at that. I just saw it today and man Im aiming for it.
@@exemida just steal it
The song is a banger, the player is a true powerhouse, the fight is fun. I talked into/made all his allys my pets, then paralyzed Raphael and kicked his ass altogether while he could not do anything.
The song is a banger except for when Raphael himself starts up[. Makes me cringe imagining him actually singing like that
That's the point though XD. Because he's so in love with himself that he even wants to hear himself sing as well as talk. Fits his character perfectly!
Just killed him last night and loved every second. Very satisfying to end him.
it's kinda the point though isnt it @@shmeatmachine3980
@@shmeatmachine3980 It's very cheesy and theatrical.
And that's part of why its so fun. It was unexpected, and somehow it fits just right.
Also the voice actor for Raphael has a really cool raspy voice, so it works really well.
Side note.... Yurgir looks and sounds like South Park Satan, which is hilarious. Speaking of South Park... there's a show also known for its musical numbers...
@@shmeatmachine3980underage rthard
Man I felt so badass after I barely squeezed by this fight with a 4 man group but you make it look so easy xD. Cheers mate
Its called cheese
yeah just think its a reload after every non crit
To me, it looks more like an expensive fight since the creator spent so many enchanted arrows😂
@@chrisblack6258 you can cheese every vendor in the game and take all of their gear so it really isn't expensive
@@Lefthandrightband Thanks for the advice! I do play as a law abiding citizen, so for me, it's really expensive. (I do rob bad guys tho XD)
the fact he had his own theme song where its himself singing was actually amazing, i had to sit there for a bit and actually listen to it
Ye, song is dope, i wish other parts of the game would have same, like fight at the end of act2, etc
It was cringe, that what it was. Weird as hell.
They should've used the River song for the millionth time.
nah i just did the fight it added to the ambience of the fight. the river song is not combat music@@abnnizzy
@@sweggieboi4928 how does it add to the ambience of the fight? Is a fucking serious fight with a fucking serious devil and he starts to sing out of nowhere, like he is in a Disney movie or something.
Cringe.
The musical score on this game is nothing short of incredible.
If you think this is incredible, go check out the NieR:Automata and NieR replicant soundtracks.
Shadowlord is probably the best final boss soundtrack ever
We were here probably underlevelled, but we used 2 scrolls of ottos dance and had him dancing for 12 turns lmao
If you dance and sing, it is Broadway musical show.
i had to use 2 divine interventions in this fight one from shadowheart and one from hope, and i still only barely made it through with a single spellslot left on shadowheart. Seeing you solo this fight made me love this game even more
In act 3 you can just paralyze/hold every single boss to victory.. Automatic crit and they can't do shit. Trivializes everything.
Raphael doesn't even has Legendary action/resistence, which makes it even easier. People see his HP and panic but in fact, he is very weak.
This game is a breeze tbh.
@@abnnizzy *cheeses game* "man this game is so easy why isn't it hard?" Maybe, now hear me out, it would be hard if you chose to not cheese every encounter nor to minmax every aspect of the game. This is the exact reason I don't use paralyze or hold at all, I want the game to be challenging but I guess if you want the game to be easy then compain that it is easy go for it... weird but sure
@@TrueXhomerS the game literally isnt hard if you have any mechanical knowledge of DOS2 since this game plays exactly the same, its barely dnd outside of the dice rolls with all the homebrew shit they threw in
@@TrueXhomerSby the same logic, the game was only hard for you because you went out of your way to ignore mechanics that would make it too easy. Hold spells and stun effects are in the game to be used and opting out of them is akin to a challenge run.
If you use every tool in your bag of tricks the game is easy even on tactician. If you intentionally abstain from them then the game is harder, what a concept.
@@TrueXhomerS how is a hold spell "cheese"
That stock of arrows
Vendors restock when a character levels up. This means every time your party levels you can go buy out their arrows 4x, once after each character levels.
@@kevinvaldez5163 OMG this tricks...now i can steal all of them
@@kevinvaldez5163 I think the vendors restock after every long rest.
I am new to dnd and finished the game just last week. Seeing other players be so creatively strong makes me love this game even more. I hope you post more like this and others too! Amazing fight - in tactician no less!
Raphael was both the hardest and most exciting encounter in BG3 for me!
Man, this is absolutely stunning ! Great job !
This was the most epic boss fight I have done in a game in a good while it was so refreshing.
Dude the music in this game 😍 fits very well with this fine display of mastery
the fact this happens in canon in like 18 seconds is crazy. Imagine how many arrows per second that would be
2 rounds is actually 12 seconds and he fired 20 shots, so that's 1.666 per second.
@@epsteindidntkillhimself69 even for irl its not that impressing, not to mention fantasy, and in some anime people do over9000 attack per second
@@kiemugen9830 Lmao, you are a delusional weeb if you think firing 1.6 arrows per second is not impressive irl.
@@kiemugen9830 Lmao
this fight was truly a masterpiece, soundtrack wise and all, in my fight i just kept him down with command grovel which was thematically fun
I like how "Notable Features" is a longer read than some books you find in the game :D
Holy shit man, this video entirely warped my perspective of the game. I thought it was about finding the right multiclass mix, but seeing this and your solo Pala/Bard, it seems the power comes from what you build around your character much more than the class itself.
I like how this is all casually in the game and I’m just here with my rogue doing max 50 damage a turn scratching my head
same I felt so clever giving my Paladin Action surge for 2 more attacks (with haste)
It's DnD lite, in a game that gives you OP stuff that'll never be balanced out lol.
@@ehernandez3 bro youre not even level 5 yet wtf
50 damage with your rouge is more then enough to trivialize most fights in normal difficulty.
stuff like the one in the video is good for challenges, but not for a normal gameplay
@@thewatcher2020the secret to good D&d is that you can have players with OP abilities and items still challenged by intelligent enemies. Game AI can't measure by comparison
The music on this battle was such a wonderful surprise. Loved it
I got to this fight, i was lvl 12 and i had to struggle with 4 more npcs, i respect people like you who can actualy play the game like this for i am to dumb to make a build that strong xD
given how a round in DnD is six seconds, id like to imagine you shooting those arrows at Raphael like the snowball fight scene from elf.
Love the music during combat!
the way hope is reacting and your character just stands there with no expression like a soulless murder machine
This was impressive.
Nice one! I did boom with a gnomes big runes bomb from steel guards quest to destroy all pillars in one turn.. that was fun also! All my party members and Hope almost died but we are fighting with devil its okay to sacrafise a little
frankly its a miracle this game exists. this shit is 11/10 just for the amount of content in here alone.
Greatness!
OK, I must admit this was impressive
The music is a thing to behold
👏👏👏 GG dude, GG!
Legend ❤😮
High level fighters are brutally powerful and I love it.
great job great build
Seeing people play so much better than me on tactician while i stick to balance and have a struggle with even my party that i try so hard to make good is very concerning like maybe i really am not that smart to play this game if im struggling with regular bosses like that robot in the lava room but eh amazing video i wished that baldurs gate added hidden dialogue if you kill a hard person in few turns like praise you for slaying Raphael as in other comments mentioned each turn is 6 seconds im pretty sure Raphael dying in 12 seconds would be insane to watch happen
thnx a lot
Took me an hour and ten to beat him on my first try!! By far the best fight I’ve ever had and such a close finish thank god for scrolls
But too easy? The issue with the whle game.
lmao didn't use any scrolls with this fight just a level 10 cleric a 5 ranger/6 rogue and a bunch of dps really an easy ass fight if you kill mobs first than the boss ngl took me like 20min
I was surprised on how easy it was too- I fought him at lv11 and people were saying how hard it was to beat him. I only restarted the whole fight since towards the end he 1 shot Hope, and I needed the gloves of soul catching for my monk. Poisons are OP in this game as well as arrows.
@@austinburtt9640 I only had to use one scroll of magic missile at the very end, I was out of spells that were guaranteed to hit and he was so close to killing me and same for him. Saved my first try to beating him even tho I know how to do it now
@@randy3724 you do know hope has divine intervention right? hell all level 10 clerics do all you need is to bring a hireling grab all your main cleric shit over to the hireling and just use their divine intervention cause can only use it once per game ez af and one of the boosts is a heal to full/long rest regain all spell slots
This has got to be the most boss ass thing ever for a boss to sing his own boss music live during the freaking boss fight.
i'm suprissed this game doesn't have legendary actions/saves, it make bosses look like children in front of more seasoned players
I love how Yurgir comes in like "Sup brah!?"
saw a vid today with a similiar setup killing the whole squad turn one with 19 attacks. that game is crazy.
love you man! one thing i need to ask, how do you get no disadvantage being close range with bow?
I do get disadvantage, but I paralized Raphael so every attack in 3m range is auto crit.
Holy hell.
The hardest part of this fight for me was keeping Hope alive. Literally, not figuratively. I didn't think of making her invisible, so I ended up casting Resilient Sphere and Sanctuary on her before starting the fight.
they killed her in my playthrough. care to tell me what happen if she survives?
Same, I killed him yesterday, mid fight he transformed and one shot her lmao
The music is masterful.
Wow impressive
goddamn man, that was nasty.
Very fun gameplay
Nice massacre, gratz! Can't wait to get roflstomped by him in my current tactician playthrough :P
I like to imagine that Raphael is inwardly screaming once he's halfway through that first round
Bro, just wtf??? So op
really insane. i have rogue x socerer with 3 attacks (fireball, icestrom or lightning) but the devils have so much resistence. so i blow them up with gunpowder.
Fuckin amazin, gj there man
I turtled inside invulnerability sphere with mind sanctuary. Oh, and i also cheesed 100 sorcery points and 20 lvl 5 spell slots using the fountain and buffed everyone with every available buff
Such an awesome video, thank you for sharing. Could we get build breakdown? I want to give this a go :)
For this fight I just blew everything up with runepowder barrels. You can pickpocket one from the deepgnome that threatens to blow herself up in act 1 and you can steal another two from the deep gnome hideout in act 3. Then they give you the runepowder bomb.
You can also stockpile on runepowder bombs as early as act 1. Go to the goblin camp, kill the zhentarim scumbags, get yourself around 4 barrels of explosives
@@digitaldevil696 Smokepowder or runepowder?
@@digitaldevil696 Oil barrels work too but they weigh a lot more (40lbs) as well as smokepowder barrels (24lbs), grenades (2lbs) and satchels (1lb).
Firewine isn't really worth collecting though because it's much less damage and still weighs 40lbs a barrel.
You can store explosives in the Traveler's Chest and toggle in and out of camp to transport more than you can carry.
Lead off with a Flame Arrow attack and watch the fireworks.
Also if you want to go to a lot of effort there are a dozen Smokepowder Barrels in the Zhent hideout under Wakeem's Rest that you can collect using a distraction like playing music while stealing.
Oh maybe you can put yourself in the immunity bubble too, you get a scroll like that from the wizard’s vault. That would make such a good ending.
Thats wild
gg!
Hell, hell (ow) hell has its laws (ow)
Raphael; "It'll only take a minute to finish you."
Bard; "That's twice as long as Haarlep says it takes to finish you."
OP; "I can do better."
Dude literally has his own Disney Villan theme song
I used my sweet mace of Lathander to keep Raphael perma-blind. Had tons of summons to kill the pillar and my cleric sweet talked the one devil into helping us. It was a glorious easy fight. :)
I didn’t know about the pillars 😮
i still had a runepowder bomb left over after destroying the steel watch foundry so i used that and hopes divine intervention to give a long rest to my party cos they were out of spells
I love this game because you can do so many different things. I AOEd them all down with a cleric barrels and a warlock, and then went on rapheal. it was an epic battle taking like 20 turns at least. Then you fucked them all up solo in 2 turns.
When Legolas comes to Faerun:
I thought Sin-Tee was the only one pulling content like this :O
I clicked this video just to hear the song again
This fight took me more than an hour, Jesus
Raphael rap performance 10/10
I fought Raphael the conventional way, but I did use Tasha's Hideous Laughter to make Raphael useless. Quite fun to see the Devil laugh at pathetic challengers, only to be suddenly punched to death in a turn.
Great video sometimes i wonder if we play the same game 🤣
Shortly after that first six second barrage, Raphael had exactly one thought.
He may have fucked up.
OMG!!😲
I always find it funny how Yurgir walks in as if Tav didn’t just kick his @ss that very day
I swear smokepowder arrows are the ave in the hole because you can shoot like 10 of them in 1 turn it’s crazy
apparently it's possible to not get the Gontr Mael, at all, if you do things in a weird order in BG. Somehow the factory just self destructs if you don't go there before killing Gortash. Of coarse, almost mass murdering everyone has this small side effect of nobody trusting the pc... so it's attack on sight. lol
Can you please do a build video for this? I really want to try it
Everyone having their own ways of doing these fights amazes me. My preferred method is me and astarion (both as monk/rogue hybrids) and folding Raphaels clothes with him still in them 😂
Could I ask for the lv build path as well as feats and how you progressed your character
:)
jfc that was beautiful lol
Hope is BY FAR my favorite character in this game. I'm so sad she only got to be in this one part of it. She has like 90% of my favorite lines in the whole thing.
wow
this build is very powerfull
having the blood of lythander and spirit guardians made this fight quite easy as well. i love the armor you get
only if you don´t play tactician :D
Spirit Guardians with Necrotic damage instead of Radiant works as normal
when I turned on this video, I expected that the player would use some difficult tactics, but in fact it turned out that he just made himself a powerful build
Don't forget Crawler Mucus. If it succeeds, the fight is a cake walk with auto-crits that spreads with multi-arrow. If it doesn't, which it happens most of the time, it's a little more challenging.
fitting his health starts at 666 the number of the beast
Did this fight yesterday, I had gotten the Thayan ghouls to paralyze him, knocked him prone with repelling eldritch blast, and I whaled on him jojo beatdown style
It knocks back not prone
Great fight! But tbh I’m just here for the song
How very Disney Villain of him to sing during his own fight.
I really like all your build m8, could you make a sheet or a steamguide of how your leveled your character? I finished the game in tactician but watching you I feel like a dumb-dumb. My builds always lack creativity.
Wow bro that was amazing. You using a Dex based fighter?
yep 20 dex and sharpshooter
We found Ip Man in Baldur's Gate 3
12 attacks/turn... I guess the fighter memes were founded in reality. And here I thought my Rogue was busted with his extra bonus actions. :O
I wonder if you can find more Arrrows of Fiend slaying, by the end you were doing normal arrows.
bow go brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Raphael must be so embarrassed to lose like this while your own hype song is playing the background
I walked into this fight spent. All spell slots almost used up. Lvl 10. I was not prepared for the gauntlet leading up to the fight. And my party was F’ed up. Probably the hardest fight I had in the game.
This was so fun. I can’t believe how amazing this game is even after a hundred hours in.
do you know you can regen in the room with the water ?
I happened upon an extremely similar build for my pc and I still had 4 people. My laezel knocked him over and by the time we were down hitting him his legs were sticking out of the ground like a cartoon character cuz his ragdoll got pushed into the floor. I felt bad cuz the fight's setup was amazing and I turned it into a gag fight lmfao.
Casters that think they're better than martial never fought a truly awesome one.
Please drop the build guide on this!
