I feel like you see Rustage in the same way Rustage sees Danbull, as a master and someone who inspired you. I also think that you secretly have a Rustage body pillow in your room and you are the president of the Rustage fanclub. Still, I love your music man!
When people ask me what kind of music I listen to, I usually answer "a lot of edm and a bit of pop music" because I feel like that's something I won't get judged for, while more than half of my full playlist is porbably nerdcore at that point, and the approach that you guys had in this episode made me rethink that. Next time I'll say proudly that I listen to nerdcore music, because there's no shame about that!
Sounds familiar to how back in the day, persons who watch anime were ridiculed, then later on, said persons who enjoy anime and didn't drop it just say f#ck you to anyone who ridicule anime with pride
Nerdcore feels so much more creatively free than most other genres even besides subject matter, song structure, flows, writing, the beats all have this certain quality that make it hit that much harder the subject matter being so open almost unlocks something which allows everything else to open too - the fact we have like 20 Gojo songs and all of them are sonically distinct is wild nerdcore artists push sound to its limit and I am really excited to see how it evolves over the next couple years there is a future where Femboy Firing Squad falls from my top 3 songs of all time, and i am really excited to hear the songs that beat it out
Funny how they started taking about MLP and the oldest nerdcore song I remember actively listening to is The Living Tombstone's Discord. Also listened to like MC frontalot, Schaffer the Darklord, and Doctor Awkward.
“Nerdcore is not a lesser form of music”, to be very honest this community makes and has been making better music than its mainstream counterparts for quite sometime. Thank you guys for not giving up ❤
Talking about rustages not sounding traditional, my gf isn't a big rap fan like I am but I came home a few days ago and she was jamming a rustage playlist i shared with her on spotify singing along to pineapple juice and it made me so ecstatic to hear her belting out the chorus. She says rustage is unique sounding and not super aggressive compared to the other stuff we both enjoy together, like metalcore so it's easier to have on while cleaning.
Rustage never stop. You just put out bangers every drop like your last the vigilante deku was absolutely insane you are the G.O.A.T edit: also please do a rap for every devils luck pirate that would be fire
I honestly really love nerdcore. Someone who was always viewed weird growing up and someone who doesn’t listen to a lot of music, nerd core is where I learned about more of the intricacies of music, the different elements to it, how stuff flows into others, And generally stuff why I started listening more. And it helped me find more music in the future and I was able to appreciate that.
The nerdcore scene is better like mainstream. Both are interesting, but there is something magical about nerdcore. Because nerdcore has produced some cool artists e.g. You, shwabadi, dps and many others who made it big. It's also nice that you're dealing with the topic of the differences between nerdcore and mainstream. 😇💯
I was never really that into rap, and had no idea about nerdcore type music at all. Until I found Rusatge´s music a few years ago, and then it just took off. Him, Shwabadi, and other nerdcore artists that do rap style songs, is more or less the only rap music I listen to. Absolutely love it. Also the Fabvl Aviators combo sounds like a SICK idea xD.
Rustage is super humble and it’s something I really admire about him but what makes it so profound as well is that he’s undeniable. Like his ability and his reputation as a person and as a creator/musician speaks volumes. If other rappers/musicians were more like him the industry would be a thousand times better.
I started with Minecraft parodies, then cover artists primarily Natewantstobattle, Johnathan Young, Caleb Hyles, and Pellek. After listening to "Copy" a 2nd time in 2021 after finishing pre time skip Naruto, I fell down the rabbit hole. I feel like nerdcore has a lot more creativity, experimentation, and relatability than "mainstream music" which I enjoyed a lot. I was not expecting an Aviators mention love his Dark Souls & Bloodborne inspired songs. Both drafts are really good but I'm going for Rustage's draft
I know this was months ago but you guys put in just as much or not more work than any many stream artist! We love you so much. See you guys at momo con a few years ago one of the best experiences in my life!!!
ik this is probably messed up but i love your music but i dont usually tell people that your my fav music artist because its nerdy but you are my fav music artist - i just dont want people to think im weird because i listen to it
Some topics for future episodes: mtg, favourite video games, favourite music, and definitely more on dnd, could just be talking about your favourite ideas you had for dnd campaigns/ characters.
Stand outs that my dad listens to is Dizzyeight, Rustage and Shwabadi! I’ll say I helped him find you but still he blasts a lot of your music every time I get in the car
I don't know about better, but it's more varied and thus more interesting to me. I'm not big on music, but love songs, for lack of a better word. The parts of music that I like aren't the sounds, it's specifically the lyrics, the message, the things being said in both a literal and figurative sense. I appreciate the wordplay that comes out of perspectives that aren't as easy to understand when bound to our reality.
love this podcast. glad I found it. I personally don't listen to much of either of your music (sorry!) but I watch your videos to learn more about music terms and what goes into making it. love hearing both of your opinions in one space!
Love the idea of a pod so much! My only complaint is i want more (as a night shifter that listens to podcast through the night it HELPS PASS THE TIME...*cough* *cough* maybe a guest or so would spice it up...) but either way the stuff you have produced has shown me a insight to my favorite genre of music that i couldn't get otherwise.
Even tho rustage voice isn’t your typical “rap voice” he has become my most listen to artist on Spotify. With his amazing beats and melody’s, clever bars and references and let’s not leave out Magwire who has the voice of an angle! Have this man sing in a cathedral and I promise angels will be summoned! Y’all make music that just makes me happy! Pistachio, win streak, shining like diamonds , static! There’s no music out there like this that’s just positive and makes you happy to be alive
Watching this made me realise just because I vibe more with nerdcore, I shouldn't then invalidate non nerdcore artists and that I should be more open minded. One minute I was laughing, then next I'm pausing the video thinking "huh... that's a great point!" XD Thank you both for making this podcast so insightful and hilarious!
Loved the discussion. From my perspective, music is music. I think some of your works are better than mainstream, and there's some mainstream that is better than some of your works.
I really enjoyed it and honestly nerdcore stuff inspired me to take what I consider my 2 career path possibilities of either game development or voice acting/singing because I just generally enjoy coding but I find it crazy that the wrong inflection or emotion in someone’s voice can change an entire piece of media and that just fascinates me
I got into Nerdcore from JT Music, even before his name change. Teamheadkick also helped me know that music can be about anything you enjoy and it’s okay to just enjoy what you enjoy.
Rustage finally said what i feel about Connor. I just cant vibe with Connors songs something about the production or the melody choice but his writing is so amazing. 100% would love him for the verse.
Honestly, the last year or so nerdcore has become my primary "genre" of music. Hard to say genre because of the swathe of styles in it, but you all know what I mean. It's just more fun for me than modern music nowadays.
I like Rustage's a bit more cause I am very biased to anything with Joanthan Young and Tophmokyo (probably spelt that wrong), and added on if it was on a character, I'd love for it to be on either Qin Shi Huang from Record of Ragnarok or the heroic figure Beowulf.
21:37 I had to stop myself from laughing too hard! 😂😭 Edit: Also Rustage, I would consider anyone you had on that Hunter x Hunter rap all while back with all the main characters is pretty good rapper! Ham and Breeton usually never disappoint and besides saying some things I REALLY can't understand sometimes, I would consider Aerial Ace I pretty good rapper as well! 🤣❤️
Nice thing about Nerdcore hiphop is that the artists aren't afraid to smile, be happy and enjoy themselves. Most hiphop artists seem like they've never smile once in their life
Ah damn for a moment there i thought they had my boi daddyphatsnaps on as a guest but he having two of my favorite rappers discussing something they enjoy is good enough for me
Would be super interesting to get to know a little better about the artists you personally know/ are in contact with especially since some of the big names don't really put themselves out there (zach, hala)
I give DaddyPhatSnaps alot of credit for picking to voice alot of our Thic boi characters that dont always get the rep and love like many MCs. Ex:Whitebeard, Todo, Broly, etc.
99% of every playlist i listen to every day at work is nerdcore music 🎵 i have a big speaker and you guys play nonstop regardless of who it is mari, shwabadi, Zach,or zzzsleepyash its always a vibe and it get the houses built 😂
I have to say i am a fan of both of you from both the D&D campaigns and both of your works of music. Tons of respect and if i would call out songs for each of you it would be haileys comet and pineapple juice and for shwabadi i would say sheep to goat and black star are some of my favorite
i remember a little while back i was at work (i do delivery) we drove past a car that was blasting the shounen cypher an i thought that shit was so funny cause of all songs someone could be blasting on the highway it was that.
I love the music you guys make. However from Rustage specifically my personal favorite song to this day is Pirate King. Nerdcore is my current "phase" I guess of music. Been a phase for a few years though so..........
I GOT MENTIONED IN A RUSTAGE PODCAST IM GONNA CRY 😭🙏
Love your music bro keep it up 👍
I feel like you see Rustage in the same way Rustage sees Danbull, as a master and someone who inspired you. I also think that you secretly have a Rustage body pillow in your room and you are the president of the Rustage fanclub. Still, I love your music man!
And got praised too
weep
The 🐐 (goat)
"We haven't named Connor quest "😂😂😂😭 that's gonna sting
I'm sure the pavement under that bus gotta hurt
DPS looking like he's being held against his will in that thumbnail
Love Rustage introduction Shwab as "Mark Shwabadi" like it's his government name 😆
Yeah it's Mark Schwabados, can't believe rustage doesn't know his own friends name 😮
I did find it funny how the D&D title was still on screen for 10 mins, just seeing Rustage quietly fix it made me smile
Shhhhh no one noticed 😂
Indeed
When people ask me what kind of music I listen to, I usually answer "a lot of edm and a bit of pop music" because I feel like that's something I won't get judged for, while more than half of my full playlist is porbably nerdcore at that point, and the approach that you guys had in this episode made me rethink that. W
My playlist is like 97% Nerdcore, 2% anime openings and 1% like Eminem, j-pop, etc.
@@oedsvlogt my is completly nerdcore and lasts over 300 hours. 😅
Yeah my playlist is 1000 nerdcore songs and about 700 other
Sounds familiar to how back in the day, persons who watch anime were ridiculed, then later on, said persons who enjoy anime and didn't drop it just say f#ck you to anyone who ridicule anime with pride
appreciate the shoutout haha

Transgender mario !
@@Balaur2293 🗣️🏳️⚧️🗣️
Tobuscus technically being a Nerdcore OG is hilarious to me
Do you like my sword and mini Minotaur went hard as a kid ngl
His "cinematic/trailer songs" went crazy too like Skyrim and Assassin's Creed
Then he did his Minecraft parade songs as well.
A true pioneer.
Funny how they started taking about MLP and the oldest nerdcore song I remember actively listening to is The Living Tombstone's Discord. Also listened to like MC frontalot, Schaffer the Darklord, and Doctor Awkward.

Interesting points tackled in this episode. This was a very fun listen!

I love nerdcore just as much as other genres of music and think it's still fresh and as creative as ever.
5:12 I havent heard that song for years and I still remember the whole thing by heart.
Omg you guys mentioning They Might Be Giants made me IMMEDIATELY think of "Dr. Worm" and that hit me with a blast of nostalgia
🗣️🔥 YESS IT IS🗣️🔥
( subjectively)
another Hobby Hole Episode on a bleak Monday! We take those ❤. Thank you both for bringing me some serotonin!
Really loving this podcast so far! Honestly got so happy at the Aviators mention by Shwabadi, feel like he gets overlooked in the nerdcore space. 😭
Rustage is super humble and it’s something I really admire about him but what makes it so profound as well is that he’s undeniable. ik this is probably messed up but i love your music but i dont usually tell people that your my fav music artist because its nerdy but you are my fav music artist - i just dont want people to think im weird because i listen to it
Awesome podcast you two!!! Love hearing from you both on these topics.
Some topics for future episodes: mtg, favourite video games, favourite music, and definitely more on dnd, could just be talking about your favourite ideas you had for dnd campaigns/ characters.

love this podcast. glad I found it. I personally don't listen to much of either of your music (sorry!) but I watch your videos to learn more about music terms and what goes into making it. love hearing both of your opinions in one space!
I still occasionally listen to Rustages old podcasts and love them❤. I hope this one lasts a while.
RUSTAGE MENTIONED MIRACLE OF SOUND, TWO OF MY FAVOURITE ARTISTS YAY!!!!
SWHAB MENTIONED AVIATORS ANOTHER TWO OF MY TOP 4 FAVOURITE ARTISTS OMGGGGG
I've never felt so validated in my music tastes

Haven't even started the video but just gonna handle that title real quick: Yes.
Moving on.
No discussion🗣🔥
I’m loving more of the podcast!

A post on thisss finally ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️rustage and shawbadii
Loved the discussion.
From my perspective, music is music. I think some of your works are better than mainstream, and there's some mainstream that is better than some of your works.
We don't have to be nerds to enjoy ur hits rusti

I got into Nerdcore from JT Music, even before his name change. Teamheadkick also helped me know that music can be about anything you enjoy and it’s okay to just enjoy what you enjoy.
I immediately need 17 million more episodes of this
I listened to my first Rustage song before I listened to any Kanye song
In terms of the draft id probably go for rustages. Only because i really want to hear Conner on a dps beat. That actually sounds so fire
I would absolutely listen to a Fabvl x Aviators x Drip$tick song. That would instantly get added to my work playlist.
"Anyone we haven't just named, you're trash."
"We haven't named [our very good friend] Connor Quest."
I cackled.
Bro I died laughing when I heard that🤣🤣
Nerdcore is amazing! You guys are great 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Rustage finally said what i feel about Connor. I just cant vibe with Connors songs something about the production or the melody choice but his writing is so amazing. 100% would love him for the verse.

Rustage for number 1
Dps is also one of my fave
So friends are honestly inspiring 🔥 this video has dropped deep that in me.
Love Hobby the rabbit! I've been learning about logo design and it's fascinating to study things that are everywhere day to day
connor quest was frieza in DPS's tournament of power rap
Genuinely enjoying this podcast every time
This was very insightful
me, going to spotify to add a rating to this to support the big man himself on all areas:
ok but, now i want that ryuk rap
I like Rustage's a bit more cause I am very biased to anything with Joanthan Young and Tophmokyo (probably spelt that wrong), and added on if it was on a character, I'd love for it to be on either Qin Shi Huang from Record of Ragnarok or the heroic figure Beowulf.
This might just be my second favorite podcast if we're not counting d&d.
if I'm remembering correctly Connor Quest did the Frieza verse on DPS's Tournament of Power cypher
21:37 I had to stop myself from laughing too hard! 😂😭
Edit: Also Rustage, I would consider anyone you had on that Hunter x Hunter rap all while back with all the main characters is pretty good rapper! I give DaddyPhatSnaps alot of credit for picking to voice alot of our Thic boi characters that dont always get the rep and love like many MCs. Ex:Whitebeard, Todo, Broly, etc.
Ofc im listening to both rustage's first then shwabadi's cause im a huge rustage fan 💯💯
99% of every playlist i listen to every day at work is nerdcore music 🎵 i have a big speaker and you guys play nonstop regardless of who it is mari, shwabadi, Zach,or zzzsleepyash its always a vibe and it get the houses built 😂
Jonathan Coultan, Weird Al, They Might Be Giants, all major parts of my childhood. I'm glad to see otheres with the same sentiment.
Listened to this whilst walking home at 8pm whilst eating a sausage, bean and cheese pastie. I'm living my best life
I have to say i am a fan of both of you from both the D&D campaigns and both of your works of music. Tons of respect and if i would call out songs for each of you it would be haileys comet and pineapple juice and for shwabadi i would say sheep to goat and black star are some of my favorite
DPS and Connor needs to happen. Please and thank you. 🎉
Love the podcast keep making them because their so good
Please Collab
Yes. Nuff said
26:00 Well, shit! Now I need that Ryuk track lol
Perfect content for late night chills 💯🔥
"I copied Rustage" 😂😂
21:54 Poor Connor😂
I don't listen to nerdcore but I'll listen to this because it's Rustage
Please more lyrical miracle!
I need these two to do a persona 5 royal rap cypher of the Phantom thieves or just a rap battle between P3&4&5 protags
Was hoping they would put a list of the artists they talk about in the info spot. But if need be I can watch with a notepad to look for new artists.
Imagine that the draft songs become real... nah, but if I had to choose between the 2 then I'd choose the rustage's draft.
The MLP to Nerdcore pipeline is more common than I thought I’d be.
Swoodeasu and freeced are my favorite ones right now
Tanks daniel for this information i am making a project about you so thanks
Connor’s villain arc starts now 🦹♂️
😭😭
I am finally can here rustage when he is singing😂❤❤😂❤❤😂❤❤😂
i remember a little while back i was at work (i do delivery) we drove past a car that was blasting the shounen cypher an i thought that shit was so funny cause of all songs someone could be blasting on the highway it was that.
I would fucking love to hear aviators on one of your guys songs!
I love the music you guys make. However from Rustage specifically my personal favorite song to this day is Pirate King. Nerdcore is my current "phase" I guess of music. Been a phase for a few years though so..........
I used to be a bronie too, i feel so close to rustage
You couldnt torture me into having my little pony in my backstory
