A pro wrestling episode would be epic to me. I love that stuff, and I think I enjoy Rustage's draft the most with such a wild collection of characters, especially the antagonist 🤣

My pick for underrated Anime is World Trigger. It takes a bit to get going, but when it does, it really gets going. The show and manga focus a lot strategy and teamwork, which makes for a fun viewing experience.
If you want to see if you enjoy the show, I recommend starting with the a couple of the Rank Wars matches. This is the tournament arc of the series and positions a lot of the strengths of the series on full displays. I will contest that Rank Wars is the best tournament arc in manga to date.

For me one of if not my favorite manga that i have read has to be sachi iro no one room/one room of happiness, it has some very heavy topics and was such a touching story about happiness. There's this really creative thing the mangaka does that only works in written format and in this case the japanese language with how it's structured etc, to me it added so much to a certain thing that i do not want to spoil for anyone potentially interested in checking this manga out which i personally do highly recomend! The way i found out about this manga was actually through a random post on youtube, but i'm so happy that i did because of just how much i love this manga
I knew we'd talk about anime at some point but wasn't expecting TNM, though that's wicked sick, and now knowing he's a runner as a hobby is cool.

Love the podcast it’s very good and the convos flow pretty well. I only have one thing I think rustage can approve on. He can work interrupting someone mid conversation. It happens here and there but it’s obviously coming from a place where rustage is just very passionate about what he’s talking about. Besides that the pod is excellent.

Grew up on 4kids & Toonami. Really got to get into Berserk since the Dark Souls Trilogy, Demon's Souls, Bloodborne, and Elden Ring are heavily inspired by Berserk and there's references all over the place. I'll throw Blue Exorcist as underrated (would love a new up to date song/rap about it). All draft options are great, I'm going for TotallyNotMark

If I had to make an anime combo, I think I would like:
Protagonist: Batman (Not sure if non-anime characters are allowed_
Rival: Light Yagami
Villain: Rohan (From naomi's monster).
Extra: The world of Berserk.
imo the first book of red rising is as good as the rest and i definitely cried a lot while listening to the audiobook and imo rustage you would love it, been a fan of yours now for 6 years
My underrated anime is "Hands Off the Eizouken." It's 12 eps iirc. It's about a group of girls who join a film club to follow their dream of producing anime while under constant threat of being shut down by the school because "anime isn't real film." It's a love letter to animation and is absolutely brilliant. It talks about a lot of the different techniques used in making anime, and the anime itself will even change to reflect the different styles and techniques they're talking about. You also get to watch each anime they produce and see the reactions to them, and the girls themselves are all great characters.

Most underrated anime I remember watching growing up was S-Cry-Ed. Probably didn’t live up to the time now but when it came out it was fire and the op is a banger also
I agree with Daniel on Demon Slayer and I kinda have the same opinion of Jujutsu Kaisen. A lot of great cinematographics and bunch of right emotions during fight and in case of JJK greatly choreographed, but mostly falling flat with most characters being mostly... like incarnations of their powers rather than actual human beings that were conscructed prior to some great power predefining them.
Feels like Transformers... it's like a 10/10 if you can ignore the cringe and boring characters. That's not to say that these characters are inherently bad or not hype, but just flat and not deep at all, and maybe that's on purpose in some cases, but overall not my thing.
Btw. if you like both of these series, but want actually great characters watch or read Jigokuraku. I think it has a lot of those things that are great about JJK or DS, but takes away all the things I described and has just the right level between DS emotional and JJK choreographed fights. I also strongly prefer the MC.
Oh hell yeah. The only sport anime I like, and the only sport show I ever watch anyway, Galactik Football Man, I need to rewatch that some day.
My family did that kinda thing with me when i were younger. Someday i got home from school and had to see how my extended parts of family, y'know uncle, aunt, cousins and some people from the church go through my room and just throwing away all my things. I had like beyblades, a quadruppilion of trading cards, manga, anime DVDs and omgosh my D&D miniatures... They cleaved my 1,5 meter ancient red dragon with a damn woodcutters axe.... my mind was broken for like 7 years or so... traumatizing... and this all just because my dad were angry, cause i didn't tidy up my room...
I was very surprised by everyone's pick. I think it would have been for me.

Hers my overrated, overhated and Hidden gem anime that I personally love!
Overrated: Demon slayer: this is a bit of a bit of non factor, I’m not saying it’s bad or anything it’s just not for me.
Overhated: Fairy tail: I watched this alongside one piece when I first got into anime, I have no idea why people hate the show so much. It’s so good. And It’s tied with one piece for my favorite anime of all time to this day.
And here are all of my underrated gems. Dumbbells, tomo Chan is a girl, Eden zero, my life reincarnated as a vending machine, Mha vigilantes, heaven official blessing, shangrala frontier, and insomniac at night.
I haven’t been a anime fan for very long, but I’m enjoying every second of it! Also, it’s so fun that you got Mark on the cast
Your underrated gems like Tomo-Chan is a girl and Insomniacs at night are so good, and I've been a long-time animanga fan plus agree with overrated and over hated lul

I love all of your draft sets but Mark's just edges it for me. Luffy vs Frieza is thematically so amazing.
Because of the earlier episode i started playing 999, and this game is insanely good. I have written multiple pages of speculations and mathemathical solutions for the problems.
It sucks me being so old. For the anime movies I feel the older ones worked more: Perfect Blue, Ghost in the Shell, Bellona of Sadness, Paprika, and even the Utena movie.

I feel like Sasuke starts out as Guts friend then turns his back on him. I feel like Guts & Mihawh go back & forth over the title of "Blacksword". Ten Ten has a mastery of all weapons but initially is attracted to Sasuke because he's also a prodigy. However one day he makes his decision so he tries killing her but the moment before she's struck down Mihawk would save her. Because he knows that Guts & her are friends which makes her have a brief crush on Mihawk. He turns her down but Guts & her spend more time together, she still trains with Mihawk on occasion. She now has interest in getting stronger instead of just relying on her natural acumen for weapons. I feel like it just becomes a great dynamic...

My favorite anime also happens to be my favorite manga and my first anime. Trigun, even despite the rushed Gung-ho Guns arc due to the manga being canceled during it's initial publishing, is the single greatest human analysis I've ever seen in any media. The exploration of different philosophies of society and the different examples of how different people can cope with the same trauma is second to none. I'm so infinitely disappointed that the reboot wasn't an FMAB situation and is instead a Promised Neverland S2 situation...
