- Welcome to pokemon Unbound one of the most anticipated rom hacks of 2020. But does it live up to the hype? Today i will be going over the entire story of pokemon unbound's main game. And boy is there a lot to cover from an amazing storyline to amazing features pokemon unbound has it all. There is even a difficulty setting that encourages every type of player so even if you are a noob at pokemon this game will still be for you. Pokemon unbound mainly focusses on the pokemon hoopa and his rings but is the story as good as pokemon team rocket edition or gaia let's find out!

The flying gym leader has a pinsir because in the harder difficulties it’s a mega pinsir, which is flying/bug

I love how in the war cutscene, the Pokémon are all having an intense 1v1 while the steelix and salamence are just spazzing out in the back.
To win the first Rival Battle, I spammed Sand Attack on Ace's Larvitar (yes, Ace is his actual name for some reason)

The leader's name is Benjamin, that is a reference to Benjamin Button because of the thing that the gym has where the Pokemon reverts to its pre-evolved form after being defeated.

I played Pokémon ruby as my first game and chose mudkip as my first Pokémon, I then found you years later
the only problem that if I skip cutscene, main items can't be obtained, but other than that I'll give this game a 9/10
Im at the 5th gym, skipped all cutscenes. Did I missed something important?

Totally appreciate the "normal playthroughs" for some especially good romhacks since I mostly don't have the time to play them myself and it offers a greater picture than the challenge runs would do in those romhacks that offer a high variety and story

The dark story is way better, instead of people getting "taken away" or getting left alone they actually die
If you choose the darker version of the history that grunt at the start actually dies amd also the grandpas (i think) of Jax get incinerated,and when you die in the ruins of void you can see the grandpas runing around and that grunt runing in a corner,is kinda sad but at the same time cute (btw marlon says that he is from hoenn becasue he says that people refer to his home like it has "too much water")

Some Italian guys (Team Weedle) made a fan game (Pokemon Xenoverse) and theoretically they have also an english version of the game. This game took them 5 years and it add the sound type
When you get the item to evolve electabuzz, he will also give you an elekid egg with max stats

In insane mode, the shadow warriors are dark/ghost with wonder guard. You won't even stand a chance if you dont have a battle ready fairy type in your party.

I tried insane and pick gible and magod its hard in the beginning since its weak to ice

Bug flying works best I'd say. If it was any other type it wouldn't work well enough except maybe fighting but that's heracross

The first time I played this game I was a Immediately hooked and spent many hours completing the game.
5:46 i played the dark story mode of this and lets just say the grunt was like a berry to houndooms incinerate

If Nintendo were to add that eighth gym mechanic to the elite 4 and champion I think that would be brilliant, even if they make it a secret setting in the settings menu like with the locked battle mechanic in sword and shield where you can’t swap Pokémon without the one you’re using fainting

i understand zeph trying to bring back his kid seeing hes old but the other 2 still look young enough to try again rather than summoning god, genetic splicing, capturing legendary historical pokemon throughout the region to break a seal on a worldwide threat hoppa who started wars to use the ultimate wepon that litterlly wiped out thousand of pokemon lives. so thats the plot

I really had fun playing it. My final hall of fame team was garchomp,aigeslash,hariama,togekiss, trevenent and abomasnow.
You can get Zygarde (I think) by talking to a house at the first gym and asks you to get the cells of Zygarde and intract with sparkly green stars
I liked the game, it's challenging enough on insane to keep your attention, BUT HOLY SHIT THERE'S SO MUCH TEXT. I d recommend playing it with the skip cutscenes option on.
I love how many battles end up being down to one pokemon
Please continue that game! I am pretty curious to see the after game play.

This game surprised the hell out of me. A crazy amount of content in a hack. The music is amazing. The sinnoh gym leader remix theme is cool. The legendary birds and the frontier brain theme is awesome too

I beat Pokémon unbound with these 6 Pokémon: Tyranitar, Staraptor, Serperior, Alolan Ninetales, Goodra & Primarina. I also used an Azumarill but I replaced it because Primarina is my favourite Pokémon of all time and I really wanted to use it again.
My first playthrough i used Metagross, Mamoswine, Talonflame, Gengar, Shiftry, and Hariyama.

Well done on completing about 25% of the game. I completed the game with about 50 hours and now at 175 i completed most of it, execept the hard missions and about 40 pokemon

+1 vote for insane difficulty Elite Four monotype runs. The expanded dex list compared to Emerald Kaizo and the physical/special split making so many pokemon more viable would be really interesting.

I burned him with a fire fang halving the damage of his bites then used 2 sand attacks and then fire fanging him till he died he missed most of his attack

There was a side mission on the first town called: The food thief. I don't remember what you recive for doing it, but I did it and it was fun

There’s a game just like this on Roblox that was sadly deleted back in 2018. It was really fun and it was called Pokémon brick bronze and the legendary you catch and the end of the game is hoopa, they had around 27 legendaries/mythicals in the game only getting to reach gen 7. Very cool
