Let me tell you, as an American I definitely wouldn’t have pronounced ‘Owain Glyndwr’ correctly before seeing this video. I love these kind of historical context videos; it’s great information to learn, and they help add a lot of depth to games.
@@Dan-ds8sf These videos just sort of scratch the surface but they are designed to give you some ideas of which elements of history to take a deeper look at.
Lol plz don’t use this vid as a reference for pronouncing Owain Glyndwr. No hate but the pronunciation is terrible. Cymru am ffycin byth!! 🏴 🏴
@@irregularmagazine you gave it a good crack. Can’t fault you for that! 🍻 It’s the “dwr” really, it’s a lower case ‘w’ so is more like “d + oo + r” or like a person who does things, a “doer”. Bit of added etymology, “Glyn” = “valley” or “Glen” and “Dwr” = “water” so he’s Owain of the “Waterglen”. Cheers, Bach 🍻

@@Inquisitor_Vex I don't speak Welsh so I'm not surprised I got it wrong.
