Great work Dave..............nice to old style buildings being used at dean park, as you know they are still plenty of the old buildings still around today...best wishes Tony
Yeah exactly, there has to be a mix of older and modern to give a more authentic appearance. Cheers. Dave
Fantastic update Dave, I'm not sure that there are many layouts that come close to the level of quality and detail you put in to your builds.
Miserable Static Thats very kind of you. Thank you. Dave
Have to say Dave your scratch building/kit building skills are superb 👍
Brilliant update Dave so enjoy watching your work such amazing detail.
that factory looks great.
keep up the great work
Dave , many thanks for sharing your update. Dean Park is looking superb. Really liking the going back and reworking old scenery that you feel that needs improving. Keep up the great work
DAVID EDWARDS Cheers David. I really enjoyed the few days it took just to update these four small but important areas on the layout. I’m certainly happier with them now. Thanks for your support. Dave
Another very helpful and informative production Dave...Thanks as always...Bob
Hi Dave- Super update and the scratch build looks very good now on the layout. I do admire those like yourself and Paul at Galgoram with the scratch building as you get a unique building of high quality. The class 60 is a good buy and I have one in EWS livery with sound and its one of the best runners..................Keep Safe...........Cheers Kev
Probably one of the best updates so far. It may be me, but this almost has the start of an on line magazine...certainly as good as any one on offer elsewhere at the moment!
Superb Dave and may I say excellent presentation.
Stay safe
Cheers, Bob
Awesome Dave as always!!! Stunning loco this new class 60. Cheers Onno.
Onno Mulder cheers Onno. The 60 is a stunner :-)
Hey Dave, I really liked the scratch built factory design from the very offing, when you were developing the idea of it. To see it almost complete is brilliant. Such an effective addition to that part of your scene. Looking forward to seeing it complete with lighting, etc. Another thing I've been noticing is your increasing filming skills, especially with running shots! Impressive rolling and panning skills! A joy to watch, as always. I watch a lot more RUclips than TV these days, and have done for years now, and your updates are right up there with what I look forward to most.
Hi, thanks for that. Yeah I’m really glad to see the factory externally complete. I also really enjoy filming those shots that pan and move with the trains. Really pleased you enjoy them too. I like to make my videos where the layout is the focus and not me! People tune in to see my layout progress, it to watch me lol, so for you to notice the effort I put in is very much appreciated. Thank you for watching and got your continued support of my channel. :-) Dave
Wow, the layout's really coming on in lockdown!
Great work as always Dave. Your attention to detail and skill never cease to amaze me!
Brilliant work on the factory, so life like.
Nice update, the factory look great real add intrest to the yard. Look forward to seeing next video and what you have been up to. You always do great work and love the layout. Stay safe and have fun
Bang got you junction Carl Braund cheers. I’m really happy with the factory. Thanks for your support of what I do. Cheers. Dave
WOW the scratch building looks awesome Dave and fits nicely in place with your layout.👍
Hi Dave. Great update and looking absolutely fantastic 👍🏻
Stevie Athers. Cheers it’s coming on :-) Dave
Great update I’m learning more and more, got to love the Sutton’s I think there next level to everything else.
Tony Sag yeah they are great locos. This one isn’t mine, but I’ve not ruled out getting one at some point. Glad you’re finding my videos useful too. Cheers. Dave
Such precision and detail. Very impressive.
James Tailyour cheers, glad you like it. Dave
Another great video Dave & I love the scratch built factory. Thanks for sharing & keep up the good work.
going2thedogs :-) Cheers. Dave
Nice addition with the class 60
Great update Dave, I'm just loving your depot. It's coming along well.
The hornby class 60 is an excellent model in detail and pulling power.
Craigy Mac cheers, aye it’s getting there! 60 is a real beauty! Lol Dave
Thank you Dave for another interesting video. The new build is great, you have done a great job with the TMD area. Your mixture of different era builds works well to create a convincing and realistic scene. I love it.
Karl Sage thank you. I’m really glad you agree that you the scene is convincing. Cheers. Dave
The whole scene is very well seen, composed discretely and looks good from every angle you showed. I mean very good because it sits in that sweet space between model and reality, which is so pleasing to the eye. Regards Stephen.
Stephen Riley cheers Stephen. I’m glad you have picked up on how it’s composed. I like to put a lot of thought into how a scene goes together and how it appears from a range of viewpoints. Thanks. Dave
Great update Dave the layout is looking really good keep up the great work
David's Trains cheers. I’m happy with how the factory came together. :-)
Factory looks great.
peter mackie mk2 yeah I’m chuffed with it. :-) do you recognize the small building at the station?
Enjoyed your update Dave - your attention to detail is second to none. Might employ you to oversee the dig out on my new railway room in my back garden to ensure everything is square and to the millimetre perfect ! Thanks for all the work you do in promoting our hobby. Cheers Euan
The Growler - Blackwood N Gauge Layout cheers mate. I am driven by detail and love adding the finer details to the layout. I try my best and love sharing stuff with people who enjoy it as much as I do. Sadly not everyone shares your view on what I do but that’s another story lol... I only try to please fellow modellers offering advice freely. Thanks for your support Euan. Cheers. Dave
Brilliant Video, keep up the good work👍
Very enjoyable update. Did not know of the existence of 'Bow Fell'. Currently have seventeen Class 60s, in my collection, all different liveries, fifteen with sound.
Scottish Norfolk Southern Fan hi, yeah it’s a newish release. My first 60... maybe not my last :-) Dave
Great update dave the low relief warehouse is fabulous
Anthony Strathmore road junction thanks. I’m really chuffed with it :-) Dave
Looking good Dave, I did a scratch built engine shed. It was a very interesting challenge, mistakes made but it came together in the end.
It’s very satisfying making something no one else has, unique. Great to hear you got there too. Dave
The factory looks great! Scratchbuilding doesn't seem so difficult now does it! 😆
That's absolutely brilliant, Dave. I worked in a factory identical to the one that you built, right down to the dirt streaked windows. The detail that you have put into that building really makes all the difference. Well done and keep up the good work.
Hi, cheers. Really glad you like the factory, I pretty chuffed with it myself. :-) Dave
Super stuff as always , agree scatters are base scenery . Not top , layout looks amazing , super stuff !
Cheers. Yeah scatters are not the way forward in these days of realism! Static grass isn’t expensive, and you can pick up a good static grass applicator for a decent price. I’d always recommend saving up and spending money on a decent one, or failing that just beg for patreon funds. ;-)
DaveClass47 yeah maybe patreon just doesn’t fund enough to go static grass 😂 scatter may just have to do until a company gets asked to send free packs out
With the weathering powders, assuming they're similar to a makeup pallette you can use them wet or dry, which is where the brush will be more effective.
The sponges never last long compared with the powder, so I would replace it and the brush with a good quality makeup sponge and brush, which come in a variety of shapes and sizes and looked after will last ages.
First class Dave , your weathering as come on leaps and bounds Great Stuff
David Cook yeah I’m getting the knack!.... Loco next? Lol... maybe not just yet. Cheers. Dave
Dave get some dirt cheap second hand ones to have a play with , you will be fine Dave
Lovely update Dave and very informative, really pleased you found your mk3 coaches were noisy as my X country versions are the same and thought I had a problem with the track, they sounded like they were derailing every time they went over some points and generally noisy elsewhere, cheers Darrell
Nice job on the north light factory building, particularly the dirty windows. And the Scotrail carriages are night and day after the wheel change
Hi Dave good to hear you like the Sutton’s Locomotive Workshop Class 24, I now have 3 in my collection Experiment and 2 corporate blue machines all with sound and stay alive upgrade, they are excellent models indeed glad you like it.
If you are thinking of purchasing Phillip does not have that many of the current run left, the new model for this year is a Highland Class 24 with head code and twin headlights and snowploughs.
The videos are excellent Dave and have given me much inspiration for my new layout, many thanks and keep safe.
Another great video Dave. I too spent £400 on the Scotrail HST this week and got two wobbling coaches. After about two hours running, the motor started making horrendous noises and on further inspection, it feels like something has broken up inside. I think that it’s pretty clear that Hornby have little interest in quality control and the whole idea of back to back measurements is an unknown concept for them. Everything is fixable of course but “Ready to run” should mean just that and maybe Hornby need to describe their products as “possibly not quite ready to run”!
Keep up the good work!
To answer a facebook post this is a perfect mix.
Amazing work, well done and I noticed the strathclyde dmu, that looks awesome
scotrail lner cheers. Yeah that orange 107 is lovely.
Hi Dave. Its great see that you have a Hornby Class 60 mate. They are cracking models in my opinion and I had loads of those models once. I had to cut down on them as I had too many, so I think keeping 4 of them is enough for me and 60100 in DB will make it 5 models in total. I am glad that Hornby have fixed the logo problem on 60015 as the model now looks dead on to the real thing. I cannot agree more about this being one of Hornby's best models and they are worth every penny. I know they do not have cab lights yet but its not something that I will lose sleep over. I am just eagerly awaiting 60100 to come out and that will be me all set for 2020 :).
Very good video.
Hi Dave another great video mate will dun great work on the factory a every interesting model stay safe and well mate goodbye for now clive
clive cobbold cheers Clive. I’m really happy with the factory, 5 months of work in that! And I’ve still to add interior :-)
Fantastic as always top bloke wish I was as good keep it coming 5*
Robert Dodd cheers Robert :-) Dave
Hi Dave, great video. your meticulous attention to detail is clearly evident. If I ever get to Scotland you will be the first person I will contact Cheers Greg from Australia.
Gregory Hale cheers Greg. As one of my long time supporters, You’re very welcome At Dean Park. Dave
Hi Dave,
That was a big improvement when you swapped out the wheels on the noisy coaches. Perhaps all manufacturers should do a couple of extra tests... one to ensure there’s the correct OO gauge gap between the wheels, and another to measure the decibels coming from each coach or wagon or loco at particular speeds. Tests like that certainly wouldn’t take long in the development phase.
Jim
It’s worse than that, Jim. These wheels have a flange depth of 1.2mm which means that they can only just run on code 100 rail but on code 75, they run on the chairs. It’s beyond belief that Hornby would produce a finely detailed model and fit it with pizza cutter wheels in 2020.
Got to agree with other comments, the fine detail is really starting to look very very good, it’s a credit to your increasing skills. Very impressive. The thing I always think of when I travel on the train is how much materials and old equipment is left trackside from maintenance and the weeds and mostly Buddleia in between the tracks. Your ground between the tracks is very clean and free of these items. Small piles of excess stone, piles of cable etc
170mushroom I’m still trying to get cables that look the correct scale and are workable. A lot of the cabling you see on Model railways is too thick and chunky. For my station area I am using reference photos from the early 80’s.... there’s not a weed in sight! Back then they still cared about the appearance. These days.. junk everywhere! :-) Cheers. Dave
Hello Dave, thanks for the tip with the wheels on the new Mk3 sliding door. I have 5 of these coaches and as soon as I put them on my layout I thought what a racket (noise) they are making, I have had the old Mk3s and they were much quieter indeed the Mk2E are virtual silent. So I took your tip and bought 4 packs of the R8096 two packs for my Scotrail and 2 for the cross country I'm going to buy, (I was not going to buy the X country if they were also noisy) this has set me back £60+. I have just fitted the R8096 and they are definitely quieter, it is difficult to judge as one can only judge from memory of how you thought they sounded, when I get the 5 X country coaches I will run them side by side and then be able to judge much better. I found it difficult to remove and refit the R8096 (being 75 and having arthritic hands) is it possible to completely remove the bogie on the new Mk3s? and if so how is it done. I would like to pass on my experience to anyone if they are thinking of re-wheeling, I did alter the back to back with a gauge but found coach derailing so I just fitted all 5 coaches with the wheels straight from the blister pack with no problems (I have all Hornby track?). Finally (thank goodness I here) I noticed you have the Hornby R8220 close couplings supplied with the coach I also found these were the best having tried Kadee and Hunt specials for Mk3 but I did keep the Hunt power cars couplings on for the Driving car and DVT, this info might be useful to someone reading this. So although I am £60 lighter I think it was well worth it, if anyone wants 40 wheels with only one careful owner I'm your man, Bill.
Thanks for the update. Its given me some ideas for my new layout.......not copying though!! ;)
Hi Dave
Many thanks for your reply, good to know that I am on my own.
Surprised to see you with that class 60!! Hattons 66 next???😀
I have just had a nightmare stripping two of the Bow Fell locos, Hornby must have a new glue for glazing!! Anyway, pleased with final results which are for a friend at KMS Railtech. He now has a Cappagh Blue 60 and 60055 William Wilberforce.
I have done a few 60 resprays for myself with a couple in DB red, two in DC Railfreight Grey, one Cappagh and two in GBRf livery. Have always enjoyed both this class and the 56.
I have re-sprayed a couple of 56s into DC Railfreight livery and both fitted with Legomanbiffo sound. Superb!!
Take care. John
I’ve not gone for sound on the 60 ‘yet’ lol. But never say never. :-) Dave
Another great video from yor fantastic layout. HC Treintje Belgium Herman.
HC Treintje thanks. Glad you enjoyed it. Dave
Hi Dave
I use the Tamia powders to weather everything. I model in N gauge and I find them great for weathering stock. They can streak with some water added to a brush. I also use a hard paint brush to put them on as the fibre applicator doesn't seem to last too long. I bought something similar from Superdrug for applying make up. But they disintegrate after a few goes too. Love the layout and look forward to the updates. When exhibiting at model shows and get asked how do you start a layout. I always give your channel details so people can learn and see what can be done.
Best regards
Jeff
Jeffrey Davies cheers for the tip, I’ve not wet them yet. I’ll try that. I really appreciate you giving my channel to other modellers at shows, I genuinely love helping folks to build up their skills and hopefully my layout gives others inspiration. RUclips layouts when I first started Dean Park in 2012 gave me a lot of help. I’m not one of these channels who’s here to be build my own ego, or sit in front of the camera and beg you to pay them to do their hobby via patreon. We seem to have enough of them ruining the online hobby these days! Once again, many thanks for the weathering tip :-) Dave
Hi Dave
Noticed you had reverted to supplied close couplings on Scotrail coach. As mentioned before, I am really struggling with Hunt couplings on my 7 coach rake of cross country coaches.
The worst coupling system I have encountered on Hornby coaches. The Hunt couplings are superb on all my other HST rakes, in push or pull mode.
I have same problem with wheel noise also so think I may follow your lead on replacement wheels.
Also, just had to do same as you with one of my Power Car motors which I had not long had out of box. It was in GWR Meningitus Trust set and found bearings were shot at one end of motor.
Thanks for continuing to share your layout, it is really stunning. Best regards, John
Hi John, that’s interesting to hear about your HST. Clearly a quality issue with the motors! Ive had three HST go like this now over the last 2-3 years. About the couplers... I have the Hunt couplers fitted to my other scotrail rake. The coaches on show here were my second rake which I’m getting around to re wheeling and upgrading the couplers. When HUNT release the new elite for the mk3 sliding door to the market I’ll get more. The ones I highlighted in my launch video a couple of weeks ago were literally prototypes. I don’t rate the coupling system on the new mk3, or the oxford Mk3a! Too flimsy. What’s wrong with bogie mounted couplers on coaching stock?!, they work perfectly well! I know hunt are looking At the new hornby mk3 and trying to perfect their new couplers. I’ve even noticed the gap varies from coach to coach resulting in sone coaches being closer than others.... a hornby issue! Hunt are looking into this as I’ve highlighted this to them. Cheers. Dave
Hi Dave,
Excellent scratch-build factory. Superb. I especially liked the collection boxes and downpipes. How sad is it that I like someone’s downpipes?!? Anyway, well done, it’s an inspiration.
Jim
Haha! Yes I do like the pipes too. The collection boxes were 3D printed for me. They are tiny, hollow and a great addition. Dave
Motor on the HST - those symptoms sound like it only needed lubrication of the motor bearings - worth checking out if you still have the original motor, so you can keep as a serviced spare for future.
I have tried lubricant to solve the problem. Im keeping it and will try to remedy it.
Hornby service is back now, Simon got them to send me something last week. While you're renovating the station area and something you see a lot on model rail layouts Is the bottom of the road way entrance ramp needs looking at, the angle from the flat of forecourt to hill always looks to steep on the videos like road vehicle would ground out as they hit the hill going up. Otherwise it looks great and the redone grass areas are much improved,.
nice!
Dapol N gauge mk3s have separate brake disk etches which is good because with or without them theres no sound difference and the modeller get to detail the wheels themselves
Looking really good dave, those buildings are wonderful. Can I suggest the dapol 68, I've just invested in 2, they are a stunning looking model and with both bogies drive can run so smoothly even on my analogue set up.
Ewood Railway cheers. I’ve a 68 in saltire livery, just as I love livery. I use it on my modern image running sessions. It’s a lovely dapol model.
Hi Dave, the North light building looks great, certainly sets the scene behind the depot. Haven't tried the Tamia powders yet, just the Humbrol ones, are they better to work with? Hornby's 60 is a fab model and is on my bucket list. Some great cameos appearing around the layout I notice, nice. By the way that 24 sounds excellent. Keep well buddy, regards till next time, Bobby 'T'.
Robert Temple hi! Cheers. The tamiya are so workable. Yes, easier to work with. They are a kind of damp compound which makes applying them with close details brilliant. The humbrol powders are ace for general griming and toning down, but I feel these tamiya ones fantastic. Dave
Just as an update to Dave’s comments - when using the back to back wheel gauge, if it won’t fit between the wheels, just gently twist the wheels out. You can do this by holding both of them and gently rotating them in opposite directions whilst pulling outwards.the back to back gauge should fit snuggly between the wheels - if it’s too loose, use the same process above, but push inwards instead of pulling out. The wheel wobble is caused by the axle hole in the wheel not being central, obviously this can be cured by using the replacement wheel sets as mentioned. If you want to add brake discs, Stenson Models do some etched ones that you simply super glue on the the wheel centres.
Agree. I didn’t go into that detail on the video but a good twist is sometimes all that’s needed. I have cured minor wobbles but if it’s drastic get a new wheel set!
Hi Dave great video, that scratch build looks very impressive. Question if I may, I’m preparing my loft for the model railway and was considering using the foil insulation before installing the baseboards. I noticed you’ve used a similar product any advice / lessons learned you can share would be appreciated. Thanks Kevin
Dave great as ever looks like you can extend your lay out why not give us more??? Great hands need more space???
love me some fresh content!
Another fantastic update Dave. I’m building a similar warehouse building for my layout based in Victoria, Australia.
I’m curious about the drainage boxes you used at the top of the downpipes, where did you source those from?
Really good videos. I have just started watching from the beginning. What do you use to turn your loco's around ?
I honestly do have a very serious question! What's the Network SouthEast Class 47 doing on the ScotRail layout! lol but seriously it was a great update, do love the Class 60.
Mind you it is only fair having a NSE Class 47 on a Scottish Layout, in the 80s there has been ScotRail livery Class 47s seen in the Devon area like 47461 Charles Rennine Mackintosh.
Sim0nTrains MRS hi, haha! I absolutely LOVE the nse livery on the 47. I just pretend it’s been up for a service at Eastfield as they used to looked after there and they’d know how to deal with 47/7’s. That’s my justification anyway lol.
I have a shot of a 47/7 in NSE at Inverness just after it was repainted and had not made it down south yet👍
As always Dave an excellent video, and nice to see a Sutton’s Locomotive Workshop Class 24 have you any thoughts or comments about it?
Andrew Bellamy it’s on loan from a mate but to be honest it’s so damn good that I’m thinking of getting one. :-) looks amazing, driving it is so much fun. And it sounds amazing.
More amazing progress! Those 2 black, square tanks look great. Where are they from?
Mark Kershaw cheers. They are from unit models.
Fantastic, as always. I really like the guttering, but you you have the model number of the kit, please Dave?
I have been looking for something with those 'buckets', but can't see to find anything - those look ideal.
Amazing video once again! I was wondering where the best place to get custom nameplates for oo gauge locos is ? Many thanks
I’m not sure on that one. Try shawplan.
Nice work has always Dave, But were did you get the window frames from?. many thanks from Appleby Linc's
Cheers, the windows were Designed myself and got them laser cut. However scale model scenery do similar stuff, click on the link in the description and search for windows on their site.
Love your layout and videos - it's like a flashback to being 12 again! Curious about your overhead system - just leaving masts on layout or adding wires?
Jonathan Chester hi, thanks. wires do impede cleaning and maintenance a lot. So still deciding what to do. Cheers. Dave
@@DeanPark Makes sense! Either way your layout is amazing - will look good whatever you choose I'm sure.
The low relief factory is looking great. I noticed the little detail of the crack in the wall before you mentioned it. A detail not often seen. I am waiting for a Suttons 24 from Scotland which I think is not too far from being released now. It will be a good loco to add to your collection. Meantime yesterday my Dapol class 122 DMU went up in smoke. It had begun to behave oddly a few days ago. I found the drive shafts were slipping. The ball joint on them is just pressed on. That could of overloaded the chip as one bogie was being dragged. I hope my Highland Stag one does not do the same. Is yours still running well
cedarcam oh dear! Is it repairable? Mine runs well just now. The Sutton 24 went out of service in 1980 so I’m maybe looking at the RTc livery one that’s on the layout right now. As that was on the network throughout the 80’s. :-)
@@DeanPark I took it apart and was dismayed at the way the drive shaft ends are so loose fit. I put the end in a long nose plier and squeezed it so it had indents and ridges and refitted the ends One gripped OK but it did not work so well on the other shaft. I decided to leave that one out and the unit ran well a few days until the chip popped which I think may of been caused by overload current when the shafts were slipping. I bought it DCC fitted. I know it is a less common chip they use 5 function it says. I will have a look if Dapol do it as a spare. The RTC 24 does look good too. A splash of colour. I was thinking of getting it myself but when I saw the Scottish one I ordered that instead. I remember seeing the auto headlight fitted locos when we were on holidays up there. Some 37 had them as well.
Great Vlog Dave, one question on the Warehouse/factory shutter doors are, are you going to make a occupational crossing across the tracks, for vehicle/hand carts? Class 60 can't beat them great loco from Hornby.
Vinny Halls cheers. That’s an idea. I’ll have a think :-) the 60 is a stunner. Dave
Hi Dave, great update as always. A question if I may, where do you get your sheets of MDF from? Many thanks, Rob
I just buy online. Several places stock various thicknesses etc. I go for 1,2,3 and 4mm
@@DeanPark Thank Dave :)
Hey Dave, thank you for bringing another quality RUclips video to the channel. You know, from where you started all those year's ago with video No 1 to present, your skill set has gone through an evolution and your channel is the go to for information. Much appreciated. Not sure if you have visited Bexhill West, James, but he is a fabulously skilled individual whom I contacted re a scratch build I am about to undertake. He has very kindly offered to make me a canopy, designed from original plans, which is quite unusual. My scratch build is of the ticketing office for Coatbridge Sunnyside Station, a listed Victorian era building. You should check him out and give him a shout out. On another note, where did you sourse the electric substation and the security fencing that surrounds it? The custom made windows of your scratch build - did you make them or who did you ask to make them for you? Sorry for all the questions but you are the go to for such information. Cheers, Mike
Cheers. I’m glad you come to Dean Park and value what I do and share. Unlike some other channels I am not the focal point of the video, my layout and projects are, so I really appreciate your kind words. I must be doing it the right way! I’ll check out James, thanks. The substation is a Bachmann scenecraft one and the fencing is Wills palisade fencing. The windows were designed on CAD by me and cut by a mate who’s got a small laser cutter. I’m lucky in that respect. Scale model scenery do similar windows, click the link in the description to take you to the website. York model making also do these style of windows, from laser cut plastic. Hope that helps. Dave
Would you also have some discarded cigarette buts outside on the ground in a corner by the building?
Alan Bevan those might need a magnifying glass to see lol.
I sow manny years ago on a BRM dvd that came with the mag had a video of a European HO scale that had moving doors it was the European open doors. The doors in real life are swing open(same as old hST) but shut automatically like in Switzerland . They also came with light indicators. Is that something british modellers creat and could retro fit? To Scot rail hst and all other doors.
Hi Dave,
Just as a matter of interest.... do Strathclyde Transport-liveried trains (I think that’s what Glasgow-based trains are called nowadays... they were Glasgow Blue Trains when I was last there) do the Strathclyde trains make it to Edinburgh Waverley? Or is it only ScotRail, LNER, and maybe TransPennine that reach as far as Waverley? I am just curious, as I am pretty sure the Glasgow Blue Trains didn’t reach Edinburgh in the 1970’s or early 80’s.
Thanks.
Regards,
Jim
very nice Dave, love the detailing and backscene, where are the backscenes from ?
Cheers. They are ID Backscenes, self adhesive polypropylene ones.
cheers Dave they look really good as does the rest !
Hey Dave, just a random question but model related, well scale model. Do you guys mix scales? Like 1/72 1/76?
I just been finding it hard to find buildings and such , but you rail guys have loads in 1/76/00 I guessing
Hiya Dave, I was wondering if you could give me the motor part number as I'm having similar issues with my Hornby Virgin TTS HST, and also was changing the motor a difficult process or is it fairly easy?
Dave is there any need to have pits where the downpipes meet the ground. Cheers Greg
Gregory Hale I’ve not modelled them but you would usually have an iron grid cover under the down pipe and over a drain.
Could you perhaps put a camera on the front of a train and give us a driver's eye tour?
Joshua Brunning I’ll have to do that again, I’ve not done that for a while.
I had three Scotrail coaches wobble, worst one was the TFB, ended up fixing it with a 3D printed back to back gauge... trackside3d.co.uk/collections/tools-and-accessories-028/products/t3d-028-003-14-5mm-back-to-back-gauge
oorail.com yeah some were awful. Funny my worst one was also the TRB!
You have been busy, does your wife mind you being up in the loft for so long? lol
David Cousins I shout down the hatch to make sure she’s still there! Lol
With respect, don't praise Hornby too much for the class 60, it was previously a Lima model when Hornby were selling toys, same for the class 56...when Mainline/Dapol sold that...Hornby sold toys!
it worries me that people have such short memories and history gets distorted ...think back 20 odd years when Lima and Hornby both made a class 47 ....the Lima one was infinetly better ...if Hornby were half as good as people think.....Bachmann, Lima, Dapol, Vitrains, Hatton's, Heljan, etc. Would never have got a foot in the door
You wouldn't praise BMW for designing the 1963 Austin Mini would you?
🌈😷🇬🇧 Thanks for the great videos
Lee Clarke. Cheers. Yeah I see what you’re saying about Hornby in the 80/90’s... they were awful! The Hornby 60 is a bit different to the Lima version, The hornby motor/drive is far superior and pulls for fun. It’s . Hornby are not perfect, goodness no!! Such as their wheels on the mk3 sliding doors. They’re Like rocks! I know Hornby bashing is a national pastime but I’m not going to bash them over the 60. :-) I’ll leave that for another model lol
First
