      Hi, thanks. I just take my time, think it over and try different methods and options until I am happy. I like doing it that way as I know I’ve looked at a project from a few angles, and chosen the best one I can achieve with my skills. Really appreciate you recognising that I spend time on it... some viewers might not appreciate the hours that go into it all. Cheers. Dave

      Daniel Luebke hi, oh I don’t pay attention to that. There are some petty, jealous little people out there! There are also trolls etc. They don’t even watch, but just dislike to make themselves feel better. Sad, depressed little individuals. Not worth bothering about 😆

    Morning Dave, your attention to detail is astonishing, that factory looks fantastic I'm sure you can't get the true effect on camera but I love the tone you've got with the lighting, the whole area around the factory is amazing always look forward following your progress. It's a amazing layout you must be tempted just to run trains all the time and get distracted from the build. Keep inspiring modellers like myself. Stay safe, Eddy xx

I know of people who criticize me behind my back and in the comments. The model railway youtube community is now sadly riddled with these fools. Jealousy?, sad?, arrogant?... maybe a mix of all three lol. I don’t care, I just model for me and for people who appreciate the effort that goes into what I do. Cheers. Dave

    For the low relief factories, have you considered a picture of a warehouse interior stuck to the back wall, that would make it look like it extends further - with the window weathered, it may not need to be heavily detailed, just enough detail to give it a depth of field.

    Excellent work Dave. I have followed you for some time having found you via EverardJunction. Might I suggest that while not technically accurate, you use decorative Victorian columns under the technical area rather than concrete, with the brick around and an asphalt top. It would help to show aged infrastructure to the layout, and that the area above was built long ago, especially with the cast iron girders in use. I appreciate it is easy for this typist to talk, and I know it is a lot of work, but it is only an idea. Thank you for your great content.

    Hi Dave,
    Super update as usual and the attention to detail you do reflects your title statement so a question for you one of the details you do not have on this one as far as I can see are tail lights on your trains now I would think this is a detail you would have is it a thing you are going to address later down the line (no pun intended) or is there some other reason for this?. If and when you do fit them and I am not sure if what I am about to say were in existence in your time period are the modern electric ones if they where then have you seen Peter Dixon's channel where he shows scale working ones which would be perfect for you and even if they were using the old oil ones a modeler of your skill could I am sure convert the many non working ones to the modern led ones using these kits that he shows of well if you already know of this I have only wasted a little of your time and I will let you carry on with the super work you do to help us all, but please keep safe and well.
    Cheers Robert.

    Hi just a question in you hard standing area how do you clean the rails cos any aggressive cleaning liquid will surely distort the paper top

    • @DeanPark
      @DeanPark  4 года назад +1

      Robert Dodd I do it very carefully!!! I use a cotton bud with track magic on it. Masking the hard standing with a piece of paper :-)

    Dave, there is so much to see around your layout and as you have said you are driven by detail and that shows. I was watching very closely as the train travelled across the Diamond Crossing and there was not the slightest of movement from any of the wagons as I have so often seen on other layouts. How did you get them to run so smoothly across it? It is something that I have been putting a lot of thought into lately. In my design, I have only 3 crossovers and want to be able to achieve the same effect. Martin. (Thailand) (Hornby Crossovers)

    • @DeanPark
      @DeanPark  4 года назад

      Martin Pattison hi, thanks. I use Peco diamond crossings, while they are flawed in design (prone to wheels bridges the frogs and causing the occasional spark!) they do run well. I just take my time and make sure the tracks are all sitting at the same level etc. The smooth running was probably more luck than by design. 😆 cheers. Dave

    I'm surprised you don't use more mirrors inside buildings to add more depth when peeking in, or is there an obvious reason I've overlooked 🤔

      Mark Collyer I’m guessing that, as this layout is designed to be filmed, it would ruin a video by reflecting the camera back when he tries to show off the interior

    You're driven by detail ? But still no rubber concertina covers for the passenger coach, inter-carriage gangways !!!
    When FINALLY SOMEONE decides to address that glaringly obvious omission to realistic detail, I willl consider that layout as authentic REALISM.
    Otherwise, these layouts remain - just toy train sets.

    • @DeanPark
      @DeanPark  4 года назад +1

      Deebz270 do you want to know how long my to do list is?.... I’ve a 25ft by 11ft layout that I’m building. Those coach Connections are no where near the top of the list. :-) Its a rather small Omission in the grand scheme of things and does not hold the balance between a layout being a model rail layout or a toy train set! I am driven by detail. The details I deem important take priority.
