@James Gravil That's fair, I was thinking of it more in terms of "You can't just try, you have to succeed." But you're totally right about having to start over a lot. I almost feel like Majora's Mask deserves it's own saying... something about perseverance, probably. I bet there's a line somewhere in the game that perfectly embodies how Link has to repeatedly do things, fail things, and totally skip doing things just in order to complete his goal.

if someone is interested, i have a zant/twilight theory. i dont have much to go on but i think there is more connection between majoras mask and twilight princess. when you fight zant in he's final phase he takes out two swords and starts using similar attacks like the garos from majoras mask. not only that but (my memory is a bit fuzzy here) zant and midna have a conversation before this fight where they talk about their royalty. (also i am going to say that i do believe that the twilight people is the gerudo becuase of midnas and zants hair color). the gerudo never really had any royal family right? but in majoras mask there were a royal family, we never see them but it is told by the mysterious npc that gives you access to ikana valley. my point being that i think there WAS a version of the gerudo in majoras mask before link arrived there. and that the twilight people are decendants from those gerudos/ikana royal famliy. this was just a theory that came up in my head a few minutes ago so there are bound to be plotholes in this one, but i thought it was worth mentioning for those who really like zelda theories! okey bye

I think the reason why Ganondorf's swords had "the real thing" written on it was for Easter egg for those who translated the Hylian text to show that that Ganondorf was not a puppet or phantom but in fact the real deal.
Majora's Mask encapsulates fear dread and sorrow perfectly. I appreciate that game more than the others, despite twilight princess and ocarina of time being my two favorite simply for their adventure and story.. but majora's mask delves deeper into the darkness of human emotion and still makes me weep for the characters even if they do not exist. It's beautiful.

As far as Ganondorf’s swords from Wind Waker, I used to help a zelda community way back in the day and help them translate and compare text from the original Japanese to the english release. I noticed the Kotake Koume change but assumed it was because it was misspelt. It actually reads Kosake Koume if you look at the Hylian. At the time I wondered if it was just the low resolution texture, but it wasn’t corrected in the HD release...
I would like to believe this but in Ancient Rome they did the same thing when they fought Hannibal’s elephants during the Punic wars. Literally tripping it with ropes.

I remember when I was a kid, I loved playing the Majora mask remake and finding hidden secrets. When I went to check on the swordsman and realizing the sign could be broken, I felt my heart skip a beat because when I looked inside I only saw the hair of the Master Swordsman making me think it was a large bag with a living person inside and that the swordsman kidnapped the original owner of the shop and threw him with the pots, leaving on the final day for the owner to die.
Damn Zeltik. I think I've finished Majora's Mask so many times since my childhood and I never have found the swordmaster after he left. I have never thought about cutting the wooden sign. Never. Thanks, as always, for those amazing secrets

I love how Zelda has references to other franchises. That's one reason why I love The Legend of Neil so much. Season 3 really gets into the pop culture references. It's a live-action comedy short series based on the original Zelda for adults. It's on RUclips so look it up and have a good time like I did. It only takes about three hours to get through it all. It's a live-action comedy short series based on the original Zelda for adults. It's on RUclips so look it up and have a good time like I did. It only takes about three hours to get through it all. That remind me when Masses, a guy from Zeldadungeon.net, talks about Naboris and how it reminds him of an AT-AT, in Hyrule Compendium, a playlist, where Masses, and Gooey, another Zelda dungeon worker, talks about Zelda stuff, mostly answers questions from comments with their opinions.
However, I didn't realize that the game itself had a reference to the AT-AT walker, nice find!
