Angel Hernandez Vega I noticed! For the longest time I had always wondered why that sword looked familiar, but once I was done with BOTW, I went back and played TP again, and I said to myself.... wait a second... isn’t this the Knights Broadsword?
It's a small cosmetic reference, exactly the kind you said you wouldn't mention in the video, but I really found it wholesome when I saw Mikau and Lulu Lakes right next to one another. There's also a Gero Lake in Death Mountain, where all the locations named after Gorons are, which I'm fairly certain is meant to reference Don Gero's Mask and how a Goron is wearing it when you first see it.
One of my favorites is the reference to Lon Lon milk in Geroudo town. There is this bar that you can go to, and upon speaking to the barkeep she says that your are two young to drink because link is so short. She asks what do you want, and one of the dialogue options link can answer is “Milk”
Aww come on he mentionned the loftwings and floating island from skyward sword with the little girl but not the star fragment she gives you being a ref to the gratitude crystals?
@amelia holland yes that’s a good idea. What if many other dungeons from other games also rise out of the ground. The lakebed temple could be revealed. In the forgotten temple skykeep from skyward sword could be in there. I just hope there are just as many nods to other games on the sequel
I'm actually playing Breath of the Wild as I am posting this an I just found something that brought me some nostalgia. This may be my own personal reflection, but I am wandering around and found "Chumin", who says "Lurelin Village is a very simple, sleepy town. They play this traditional treasure-chest game of chance there. Takes me back to my childhood for some reason." This struck up some memories for me because it reminded me of playing A Link to the Past as a child. It had 2 chest games, 1 in Kakariko village and another in the lost woods. Though I know there were more Zelda games that features chest minigames, it was mostly the older ones, and that was the one that stuck out to me the most. His dialogue is kind of a nod to veteran players of the series. I just thought I'd comment on that.
The song that the Rito girls sing in the Warbler’s Nest side quest bears a resemblance to the harmonic secondary notes beneath the melody of the Earth God’s Lyric from Wind Waker.
I know many people probably already know this, but if you talk to Shamae in Tears of the Kingdom she mentions the land in the clouds again, happily exclaiming that it’s real and semi-explaining how to reach the Sky Islands. One of the easy ways you can reach these islands is using recall on one of the falling rocks, hinted by a Gerudo woman who you can find hanging out under the cherry tree just east of Hyrule Castle town.
I always understood Mimo's monologue as a reference to Marin's monologue at the beach. Where she tells you that she wants to be able to fly like the birds one day.
@@Xitoshi Well, but in the end you found someone with the same thought ^^ And you even found someone who's also a little surprised that there aren't a lot more people having this association :D
Zeltik, you missed the easter egg names like Luto's crossing, Ralis pond, Oren bridge, Mikau lake, and Lulu lake. These locations are named after some of the characters in previous Zelda games. Another thing is that they are all named after Zora, in the region in which Zora live. (Also, these are just some examples. There are many named locations that are named after Zelda characters in Botw.)
I know this is late, but the monster cake thing before you explained it really made me think of Astor, as her was a fortune teller to them. Maybe he even worked there? Idk. But the similarities you pointed out make much more sense. Idk just a thought
I’ve got a cool theory with evidence to back it up. Is there a way I could speak with you about it? It’s the true origins of malice. And how it’s an entirely separate entity from ganon that’s using him as a puppet.
I have to say this is the first Easter egg/reference video that tells me it has almost completely unseen/unspoken of ee/refs that really hold up to this expectation and was still enjoyable and entertaining, also deeply informing. Good work there, thanks a lot
For the first easter egg, the one with Skyward sword, I personally believe that getting a star fragment is another reference to Skyward sword. I believe that it's meant to be like how you get gratitude crystals when you do good things for NPCs.
It would’ve been awesome to have a darknut reference. Maybe the ruins of particularly large knights(maybe three with armors to match Twilight princess, windwaker, and link’s awakening), with the scattered remains of guardians surrounding them. The last stand of three mighty warriors eventually brought down, but not before taking a good amount of guardians with them
As such a huge Zelda fan and who has played various Zelda games Not long ago was I was able to get my hands on Breath of the Wild. I was of course, very excited to see references on my own and I loved watching this video knowing that I wasn't the only who noticed but also finding out that there was some references that I haven't noticed before. I have yet to complete Breath of the Wild, and watching your videos makes me fall in love with the game even more than I already was. I grew up playing Zelda games and so seeing all of these references is like something out of an old memory which is so fitting since this Link is also trying to remember things from the past.
First time i played botw in 2017 i saw the cow logo on the milk and instantly reconized it as 'Lon Lon milk! 😃. I always thought the cow face was really cute🐮. I was so happy that they even kept bottles of milk in the game. I like my dairy..
I like how you pointed out all the other evidence of how Eventide Island could reference Link's Awakening, and THEN mentioned that the names are literally "Toronbo Beach" and "Koholit Rock!" Haha
You can actually get to hear a reference to Zelda's lullaby whilst on horseback. If you ride your horse during daytime and accelerate the audio you'll be able to hear it clearly.
The Monster Cake Easter Egg could also be a slight Star Wars reference; a Chancellor who is motivated by a cake that gives evil thoughts and motives definitely sounds Dark Side. The horns on the cake might even be related to Darth Maul?
I think that the star fragments might be based off of gratitude crystals which makes the the concept of that kid giving you a star fragment even more interesting
Fun fact: There are guardians on the sealing of the room where you first find ganon (seemingly attached to the cacoon) fueling ganon with guardian parts to build his body.
I only just got my Switch at the end of 2019 & have been playing BOTW for less than a month. I am so happy how it has made me fall in love with the series all over again, which led me to your videos. I have watched so many in the past few days! Thanks for all the care & detail, you gained a new subscriber :)
Not only that in your first easter egg, but the star fragment you get looks strikingly similar to the friendship crystals you recieve in skyward sword for good deeds.
"Still remembered and honored as the song of the royal family" yeah, although in OoT the song was supposed to be know only by the royal family, so having the notes for it on display doesn't really help with the secrecy of the song xD Thanks for adding Cole's theme, it's one of my favorites, and I somehow didn't make the connection with the cake's horns xD but now I imagine the monster cake was Cole's dish, while the fruit cake was ST Zelda's dish:P Shamae also kinda referenced TP for me. Not sure what she said exactly, but the beginning of her dream description seemed like the letter from Agitha, but maybe I'm misremembering;) And why the warning for LA spoiler? That's no spoiler :P
maybe the links of the past went around, toting the damned tune all over hyrule and beyond, so eventually everyone knew it and the royal family had to put it up in their castle so people'd know it's theirs
One of my all time favourites has to be a simple one. The hyrule castle theme. It manages to include the sweet zelda's lullaby, the heroic zelda theme, marins theme, arryls theme, ballad of the wind fish, ganons organ. It is kind of like the final battle (unless of course your a speedrunner and you skipped most of the game) where you have gone through trials, just like the hero who earned the 8 instruments of the sirens and the hero of time as he climbed the seemingly never ending staircase where ganondorf held Zelda hostage.
Not an easter egg from another game, but I noticed something humorous in Gerudo Town. In the romance school, there are male "dummies" used for practice (I'd assume). In one of the houses in town, you can find one propped up next to someone's bed.

Have you ever heard the tragedy of Calamity Ganon the Wise?
You mean The Senate? lol
No one’s gonna mention how the Knight’s Broadsword looks like the Ordon Sword?
Angel Hernandez Vega I noticed! For the longest time I had always wondered why that sword looked familiar, but once I was done with BOTW, I went back and played TP again, and I said to myself.... wait a second... isn’t this the Knights Broadsword?
Angel Hernandez Vega it dose
And also kinda the practice sword in Skyward Sword
I would get that sword with the twilight set and just have fun killing monsters as the early hero of twilight
Wow that awakening reference is unreal. I've never heard about it before but it fits so perfectly. Gave me goosebumps. Thank you
Aww come on he mentionned the loftwings and floating island from skyward sword with the little girl but not the star fragment she gives you being a ref to the gratitude crystals?
i really hope that the arbiters grounds rises with the castle in botw 2 it was my favourite dungeon in twilight princess
@amelia holland yes that’s a good idea. What if many other dungeons from other games also rise out of the ground.
The lakebed temple could be revealed. In the forgotten temple skykeep from skyward sword could be in there. I just hope there are just as many nods to other games on the sequel
Alexander King yeah definitely they would be so cool, i really want one of the water temples to rise despite how much they did annoy me 😂
I like the idea that Link just thought Outset Island was Koholint while in a hallucinogenic state.
For those who wanna listen to good Zelda remix, listen to Rozen, this guy is incredible !
Coco Grimpret HE IS!!! I absolutely am in love with his clock town remix!
I love their music as well : ))
espacaily his ballad of the windfish
its on spotify
Great video man. The Links Awakening references blew my mind. Happy new year Zeltik and looking forward to another new year of your quality content!
I'm actually playing Breath of the Wild as I am posting this an I just found something that brought me some nostalgia. This may be my own personal reflection, but I am wandering around and found "Chumin", who says
"Lurelin Village is a very simple, sleepy town. They play this traditional treasure-chest game of chance there. Takes me back to my childhood for some reason."
This struck up some memories for me because it reminded me of playing A Link to the Past as a child.
The Star Fragment reminds me of a more intense looking Gratitude Crystal
The song that the Rito girls sing in the Warbler’s Nest side quest bears a resemblance to the harmonic secondary notes beneath the melody of the Earth God’s Lyric from Wind Waker.
This game was made with so much love and appreciation for the series
I know many people probably already know this, but if you talk to Shamae in Tears of the Kingdom she mentions the land in the clouds again, happily exclaiming that it’s real and semi-explaining how to reach the Sky Islands. One of the easy ways you can reach these islands is using recall on one of the falling rocks, hinted by a Gerudo woman who you can find hanging out under the cherry tree just east of Hyrule Castle town.
I always understood Mimo's monologue as a reference to Marin's monologue at the beach. Where she tells you that she wants to be able to fly like the birds one day.
I had the exact same thought! I'm surprised I had to scroll down a lot to see this!
When I saw Shamae reference Skyward Sword, I was so excited.
I'd give you a thumbs up for the Zelda lullaby all by itself. That's quite the find.
1:09 Ever since playing Halo, every time I hear Arbiter will make me think of the Arbiter.
Any mention of Koholint gets me right in the heart
Are we gonna talk about how there's a glamorshot photo of Ganondorf in Ingo's room before you get Epona? Its on his bed mantle
I love these references in any game. They really add to a game's experience.
The balloon girl may actually realize her dream, as sky islands are in botw 2
I know this is late, but the monster cake thing before you explained it really made me think of Astor, as her was a fortune teller to them. Maybe he even worked there? Idk. But the similarities you pointed out make much more sense. Idk just a thought
I’ve got a cool theory with evidence to back it up. Is there a way I could speak with you about it? It’s the true origins of malice. And how it’s an entirely separate entity from ganon that’s using him as a puppet.
It’d probably be better to talk to him on Twitter ( twitter.com/Zeltik )or Instagram ( @zeltikinsta ). RUclips comments are very unreliable.
I’ve seen a video of that exact theory on NitendoBlackCrisis Channel
@@cracklinoatbrand7798 link?
Tydin just search Nintendoblackcrisis malice and it should be the first video to pop up
I have to say this is the first Easter egg/reference video that tells me it has almost completely unseen/unspoken of ee/refs that really hold up to this expectation and was still enjoyable and entertaining, also deeply informing. Good work there, thanks a lot
This game is almost three years old. Wow
For the first easter egg, the one with Skyward sword, I personally believe that getting a star fragment is another reference to Skyward sword. I believe that it's meant to be like how you get gratitude crystals when you do good things for NPCs.
We need some more Skyward Sword and Twilight Princess videos!
It would’ve been awesome to have a darknut reference. Maybe the ruins of particularly large knights(maybe three with armors to match Twilight princess, windwaker, and link’s awakening), with the scattered remains of guardians surrounding them. The last stand of three mighty warriors eventually brought down, but not before taking a good amount of guardians with them
I never thought about the connection between eventide and links awakening, but that’s really cool
BoTW is my first Legend of Zelda game. I envy you all who know the references.
i cant imagine starting with BOTW wow
@@drennanwrye693 i started with four swords
The Golden Knight mine was ocarina of time
Mine was TLoZ: Link to the Past. I was like 5 years old. But finish that game at 16.
@@drennanwrye693 What do you mean of can't imagine? Is it very bad to start on BoTW?
The best notification to get while walking out of class 👍🏼
You can actually get to hear a reference to Zelda's lullaby whilst on horseback. If you ride your horse during daytime and accelerate the audio you'll be able to hear it clearly.
The Monster Cake Easter Egg could also be a slight Star Wars reference; a Chancellor who is motivated by a cake that gives evil thoughts and motives definitely sounds Dark Side. The horns on the cake might even be related to Darth Maul?
10:50 Zelda's lullaby in N64: left, up, right, left, up, right. In 3ds: X, A, Y, X, A, Y.
Eljamin Latour don’t leak cheat codes!
Now everyone online will have them and it will ruin the game
The A, X, Y, A, X, Y will live forever in my heart. The 3ds was the first game console I ever got.
@@chadd990 that's how the song works in N64 and 3DS.
@@plutonizm that's Epona's song.
My favorite part is how everyone knows these songs and can tell the difference just by looking at X, A ,Y
I think that the star fragments might be based off of gratitude crystals which makes the the concept of that kid giving you a star fragment even more interesting
Damn the eventide reference blew my mind. Dont know how i didnt realise it before.
I would absolutely adore if you made this a series!
Well the land in the sky has a new meaning now that TotK is out hey?😅😅😅 coincidence? Idk, you tell me.
Fun fact: There are guardians on the sealing of the room where you first find ganon (seemingly attached to the cacoon) fueling ganon with guardian parts to build his body.
What if Shimei was talking about the breath of the wild sequel all along?
She were 😯 she's looking up at the islands talking about visiting them in TotK
I only just got my Switch at the end of 2019 & have been playing BOTW for less than a month. I am so happy how it has made me fall in love with the series all over again, which led me to your videos. I have watched so many in the past few days! Thanks for all the care & detail, you gained a new subscriber :)
WHAT IF SHAMAE WAS TALKING OABOUT TEARS OF THE KINGDOM??????
Definitely feels like it
Not only that in your first easter egg, but the star fragment you get looks strikingly similar to the friendship crystals you recieve in skyward sword for good deeds.
"Still remembered and honored as the song of the royal family" yeah, although in OoT the song was supposed to be know only by the royal family, so having the notes for it on display doesn't really help with the secrecy of the song xD
Thanks for adding Cole's theme, it's one of my favorites, and I somehow didn't make the connection with the cake's horns xD but now I imagine the monster cake was Cole's dish, while the fruit cake was ST Zelda's dish:P
Shamae also kinda referenced TP for me. Not sure what she said exactly, but the beginning of her dream description seemed like the letter from Agitha, but maybe I'm misremembering;)
And why the warning for LA spoiler? That's no spoiler :P
maybe the links of the past went around, toting the damned tune all over hyrule and beyond, so eventually everyone knew it and the royal family had to put it up in their castle so people'd know it's theirs
@1337azaltuth that's a good one :D
