Horses actually only go strait and stick to paths reliably if their bond with Link is high enough. The game tells you to soothe your horse to increase your bond but you can actually force the bond to increase 10% by feeding them a food item (I use apples.) Feed them the needed amount and bond will be maxed out in seconds rather than minutes or hours.
- If a Hinox grabs a curved palm tree - like the one on Eventide island - it can't hit you with it. It'll swing the same way as it would normally, but the trunk will arch above Link. - If you sneak up on a sleeping Hinox, you can climb onto its belly by standing on the palm of its hand and let yourself be hoisted up when it scratches itself. - Hinoxes carry various types of swords on their necks, and Stalnoxes have elemental weeapons embedded in their bodies. - Stalnoxes don't rise while you are watching their bones. Travel away and come back at night. - If intelligent enemies spot a bomb, they'll either run away from it or kick it in your direction. - If you are severely hurting for weapons, you can find a woodcutter's axe, battleaxe and/or sledgehammer near every stable. - Molduking, the special Molduga you fight in the Champion's Ballad DLC, is covered in metal armor, and is highly susceptible to shock damage. - If you upgrade the full Firebreaker, Rubber and Snowquill set twice, you become immune to elemental effects that burn, electrocute and freeze you, respectively, while you're wearing the full set. This can trivialize some shrines that rely on these gimmicks. They won't protect you from damage off freezing water or falling in lava. - Even though you can run around in a volcano with it, the Firebreaker doesn't protect agaist the heat in Gerudo desert. Shadows offer protection from heat in the desert. - You can ride other things than horses: mountain goats, deer, bears, the Lord of the Mountain and even a Stalhorse can be ridden by you. Unfortuately, you cannot register them. You can even jump on a Lynel's back for some massive damage while not using up any of the weapon's durability. - Boomerangs, including Lizalfos blades and arms can be thrown in a way that they'll return to the thrower. If you catch a flying boomerang with Magnesis, you can carry it around as a circular saw blade. - If you see three trees or cacti with a number of fruit on them, search for the one additional fruit that's not on the other two. Pick or shoot it, and you've just found a Korok.
thanks for this one: - If you see three trees or cacti with a number of fruit on them, search for the one additional fruit that's not on the other two. Pick or shoot it, and you've just found a Korok.
@@g60force dude right?! That’s gonna help me so much! Those three tree things always look like they should be something to me but I could never figure it out!
regarding the fruit korok puzzle, if you stasis the fruit that is in the correct spot on the tree/cactus that has too many fruit and then cut the whole tree down, you’ll solve the puzzle much faster!
My sister and I played Breath of the Wild, and our dad sat in the same room. He didn't really get what it was all about, but he made sure to frequently remind my sister not to use bomb arrows in "lava land" after she gave him a demonstration
I love how the first tip on a tips and tricks video is to not look stuff up and play the game naturally. "Oh okay! I just won't watch the video then. Wouldn't want to ruin my experience."
Important note about helping NPC's: if they get knocked out before you help them, they won't give you anything for beating the monsters. Some of them just comment on how close they were to getting faded, but some will actually chew you out for taking too long to save them. The Aris Beach chest contains an Amber, and the one in Hateno contains a Purple Rupee. They both seem to have been left over either from testing or from earlier versions of the game.
24:34 was something I found out on my first playthrough by accident and it was one of the most memorable moments for me. At some point early in the game, I was bumbling around randomly and didn't notice that a Lynel was nearby. I ran right into him. As I didn't play all that much yet, I was legitimately worried that this is certain death and when I saw him drawing his weapon, I was like a deer in the headlights. After a few suspenseful seconds of just standing and staring, I moved around him the long way until he put his weapon away and went back to minding his own business. That's when I realized just how lively the world in the game is. So wonderful!
The first Lyonel I encountered gave me the *best* picture for my compendium. Nothing says "I'm dangerous, stay away" quite like a Lyonel about to shoot you right in the face with Lightning arrows while charging straight at you. ...I suppose I should add that Lyonels only remain passive for about a minute, then if you're still in aggro range they get tired of waiting and attack regardless.
@@1jamarks ah, yes. The classical link minding his own business, only to be met with certain death mere seconds after for no apparent reason. It's in moments like that that Link questions wether Hylia is really protecting him
I think a better way to describe the % listed on the map would be MAP completion percentage. Every new "thing" you unlock on the map (whether it's 1 korok seed, 1 shrine, 1 location, or 1 divine beast) counts as 0.08%, which is why the distribution is skewed so heavily in favor of korok seeds and locations.
2 clarifying notes for any beginners: - The elemental weapons will only spawn in the colliseum after beating all 4 [spoilers]; prior to that, the enemies will hold levelled weapons of the Soldier/Knight/Royal variety! - [Item #145] will only work on Bokoblins, Moblins, Lizalfos, Lynels (only for a short while!), and Stahl (skeleton) enemies. It will *not* work on Octoroks, Keese, Wizzrobes, or Guardians!! Otherwise, this is a *fantastic* source of beginner-friendly trivia for BotW!! Thanks for continuing to be such a great source of Zelda info and dad jokes, Nico! xD
@ Maybe not to most, but since this is a beginner's guide for first-time players, and since Nico chose to be vague about them in the early part of the video, I figured I would do the same.
@@VideogamePianoMan the game has been out for years now, this entire video is technically a giant spoiler. The video mentions and shows the Blight Ganons early on. And mentions the Divine Beasts.
1: if you get all the chests in a shrine a small chest icon will appear next to the shrines name when you hover over it on the map its a good way to see if you missed anything 2: doing a spin attack with a two handed weapon will put out fires and thus fire damage, you can even do it on death mountain (but you will start burning again after a few seconds) 3: bomb arrows don't explode when its raining, enemy bomb arrows included, so you can farm for them from enemies that way
I have like 55 hours into this game and i'm not even halfway done, there's just so much to do it's incredibly fun. You can tell how much work and love the devs put into this game, hopefully the next one will be just as good if not better than this one. Cheers
My switch says I have over 1500 hours and I was like 70% done on my main playthrough. Unfortunately for me, I didn't realize that starting a new game on the same account would revoke my access to my old playthrough, so I'm looking forward to my 3000 hour milestone.
This is what an A-Team with a clear year-old vision of adventure produces in a few years plus some DLC the coming years. Looking forward to the sequel now that I just (finally, lol) bought and finished the game but for god's sake they shall take all the time they need. We see with Pokemon SV what a schedule does to a dev team.
Shooting Star Tip: If you see a shooting star fall but it seems too far away, teleport to the nearest shrine or tower, it will still be there as it won’t disappear at night :) grabbing the stars this way is faster & you won’t have to worry about the sunrise making the stars disappear :) (If the star isn’t there after teleporting, just teleport again & it’ll be there)
I had a weird instance once. I was around Ridgeland Tower hunting for yellow lizalfos tails when a star landed slightly northeast of there. I saw it through the scope and tagged it. I rushed over to the spot and it was gone. But then I teleported back to that tower and still saw the light it shoots up. So I rushed over again and that time the star fragment was there.
I stand on top of dueling peak and wait for stars and then tag them. Man, I'm glad I'm done upgrading amiibo armor. That was a nightmare waiting for all those stars lol
I remember the first time I saw one. I had just finished the great plateau and was coming down from it when I saw the star fall so I quickly went towards the location. It ended up being where the Ganon horse is. I got the star fragment and then tried to get the giant horse but I didn't have enough stamina (or skill to do it) so I grabbed another horse and marked the location to remember where the giant horse was. The horse I grabbed is called Juan and he's been my companion ever since then, and later on I got the Ganon horse and named it cui cui :)
- You can move the giant stone plates, which cover treasure chests, Koroks, etc by dropping an Octo Ballon onto them. I wasted so many weapons using stasis before I learned that. - You don't have to fight the Hinox on Eventide Island to get the orb. You can land on his chest, and snatch the orb. Then just run away to the pedestal.
Another thought, if you want to farm guardian parts: for the Guardian Stalkers if you use a sword to chop their legs (2 hits for any weapon, 1 hit with any ancient weapon) it stuns them the same as shooting them in the eye and also nets you 40% more parts when you chop all 6 legs.
I like how number 2 is the best real life advice too - PAY ATTENTION I also figured temporary stamina is better than temporary hearts - my reasoning being that temp hearts are used before regular hearts, but temp stamina is only used after your regular stamina has been exhausted
15 other facts: - Each sword has a unique radius for the area of grass you cut with a spin attack. Interestingly, the radius is not correlated to the length of the blade. - You can only hold 5 arrows on a wooden shield. - Some Zora flee when you shoot a shock arrow at them. - The rotation speed of Guardian Sentry's blades is not reduced during bullet time. - If you carry 60 meals and want to buy from Beedle, just agree to his trade offer. It's faster, since it triggers a single textbox rather than his monologue about stealing the beatle from you. - Bombs float on water but sink on lava, despite lava being denser than water. - Before starting Vah Rudania's quest, the cliffs it is rampaging on are protected by a giant invisible wall. This wall matches closely but not exactly the radial shape of the cliffs, and extends up to the skybox limit. - Links can wear a fireproof armor and still catch on fire and take damage: by getting too close to Vah Rudania during the Yunobo escort mission. - Starting Vah Ruta assault cancels moonjump. - During Vah Ruta assault, Link can reach the cliffs and get a Korok seed. Interestingly, it does not autosave. - During Vah Ruta assault, if Link reaches a cliff, Sidon does not know where to go and comes back to the starting dock. - During Vah Ruta assault, Link can break the ice with weapons. Doing so takes durability from them. - Once Ruta is pacified, there is a small portion of it where Link can land without triggering the "it's too dangerous to get closer" cutscene. However, the hitbox poorly matches the structure. - There are 62 variants of cooked/steamed/rosted/frozen ingredients, albeit only 60 slots. You cannot have all at once, which is unfortunate for collectionists. - Dying in lava sometimes plays the drowning animation.
Another tip for infinite arrows (though I'm not sure if it's technically a glitch). The arrow chest in the water on the small island off the south east coast of Eventide Island respawns every time you load your game. So collect the chest, save, load, repeat.
This does take longer, however, this is a good tip for the 5 fire and ice arrows on the great plateau. I always save these chests and repeat what you do
@@JustSomeRandoOutHere i have over 700 elemental arrows and over 500 bomb arrows. I don’t need those damn chests. And i finished the game 100% on normal mode. currently playing on master mode aiming for 100% as well.
Here’s a fun one: Soothing horses usually only increases their bond if they’re fighting against your control, but you can also get a free one when they slow down after using a spur. Since you can end the speed boost early by pulling back on the joystick, the fastest way to level up your horse’s bond that I’ve found (besides stuffing apples in their mouth) is by using a spur, immediately cancelling the speed boost, soothing, and repeating. 9 times out of 10, you’ll max out its bond before you make it to the nearest stable to register them.
You can also hold a fire weapon/keep a fire arrow ready (without actually shooting it) close to an ice block, to melt it, without losing any items or damaging your weapons
When sailing on a raft, if you DON'T use the two-hit combo swing on the korok leaf and instead just swing once over and over again, you can get going incredibly fast, like game-breakingly fast
@@dumdumcappy That's what the Korok Leafs are for. Chop down a tree and sometimes it'll give you a leaf, then wield that as a double handed weapon, and wish each swing of the leaf it'll let out a gust of air. That gust of air will propel the raft, too. Just stand on the side of the raft so that the pole in the middle is between you and your destination, and start swinging. It's a little weird to control but it's not terrible.
Wow, I had no idea about the Lynels not attacking until you draw a weapon. Something I learned relatively early in my playthrough was that weapons respawn with a Blood Moon. I was climbing that mountain in Kakariko Village as the moon rose, found the sword in the stone, lifted the stone to see if there was anything under it (there wasn't), then the Blood Moon did its cutscene and a new sword was in the spawn position, but just balancing upright because I'd moved the stone. XD
Hey Nikko amazing guide as always! This feels like a true definitive beginners guide. Also for some reason I think the most surprising thing to learn for me was that Bokoblins actually have a sleeping schedule. To imagine that Ganon’s minions are in bed by 10 every night and up at 4 am bright and early is just hilarious to me😂
Fun fact: If I remember correctly, the blood moons are used to clear the games ram. So if something goes wrong (or YOU do something weird). Then a blood moon can spawn in the middle of the day. For example: there is a way to duplicate horses, but if there is too many, the game may spawn a blood moon to fix your mess lol. (I believe nintendoblackcrisis covered this a while ago. It was very interesting) Edit: and kleric talked about them as well.
Yep, want a blood moon to happen? Cut a bunch of grass. Because it takes a lot of ram for it to keep track of where you have cut the grass it has a high chance of doing a "panic blood moon" to reset the grass and lower the ram use. I found this out because I was cutting tons of grass near Hateno village to get Hylian rice and restless crickets and as I'm traipsing through the field on the sunny afternoon, boom, blood moon. This won't help for that one shrine that requires a blood moon, but it will reset overworld stuff if needed.
There are three ways to get the "Warm Doublet" on the Great Plateau. 1-Give the old man the dish he wants. 2-Get to the peak of Mt. Hylia without it, use a cooked pepper dish, and talk to the old man, he'll give it to you. 3-Get to, complete, and back from the shrine in the snow and return to the shack and you will find a chest with the garment inside. There's a fourth way to get it but you just buy it in Hateno village.
@@burger_kinghorn True, but until you get the glider, you're stuck on the Great Plateau and the Warm Doublet is your only non-food related option for dealing with the cold and still be able to run and fight since there are no fire weapons in that area.
@@bachjay88 Or you could just do what I did the first time I played BOTW: Just running through the cold and constantly healing yourself. I'm sure the devs want us to do it that way :)
they still have the royal weapons though, if you go from the top and sneak strike them all down its a really efficient way of getting good weapons early!
@@worthvapor7296 Not really, they have basic Knight weapons if you didn't do any Divine Beast. Each Divine Beast completed upgrades the type of weapons they hold.
Just a little extra tip I have from finding out by accident is that if you open a DLC chest and close out of the game without saving (and before it auto saves), you have to restart the save file entirely to get it back. I did it on purpose a second time to see if I had found a bug or if the game removes it. It removes the item from the game. So please save after you open each DLC chest just to be safe.
@@100PercentZelda It is. I wanted to put this finding out there for new and veteran players of the game. I don't know if it happens in the Wii U version, but it's a thing for the Switch version for sure.
The parts toward the end about Lynels- how they can't be face-stunned while they have their Bows out, and how you taking your weapon out affects whether or not they start attacking right away- are definitely my favorite parts. I'd actually started to write a guide of my own when it comes to dealing with Lynels, and so I'd might as well share something interesting I've found about them that wasn't in either video. As it turns out, some sword and crusher Lynels have one more trick up their sleeve- they may jump up fairly high and come crashing down in a fiery explosion not unlike the one they do when they roar. These are the Lynels I have seen perform this attack: >Tarm Point Lynel (sword) >Lynel south of the Hebra West Summit (crusher) >Shae Loya Shrine Lynel (crusher) >Coliseum Lynel (sword) >Lanayru East Gate Lynel (sword) Notice how each of these are found on terrain that is not completely flat, whether there be nearby cliffs, downward slopes, or a pool of Malice. As a result, I theorize that the reason they perform these attacks is actually so they can correct their position given the terrain they have to deal with.
@@Gr3gorius Hmm... interesting. I've never gotten the DLC so I haven't fought that particular Lynel. Looking at the area again, I notice that there are trees nearby. It's possible that the Lynel could have its AI messed with when it runs into the trees in a similar way to what the malice pool does to the Colosseum Lynel, though A) the trees aren't particularly thick, and B) that begs the question of why then I haven't likewise seen the North Akkala Valley Lynel act the same way. Or maybe it's just a trait they added specifically to that particular Lynel because Master Mode challenge. Either way, the plot thickens.
@@SuperGoker64 Maybe it depends on their colour? Maybe red ones doesn't have this attack pattern? I jumped from normal mode to master quite early in the game and still avoid them on Master to avoid one hour fight lol, so I don't know to be fair. But I checked that one on plateau and it surely does that fiery jump thing.
If you press Y button while shield surfing Link can do a spin attack that hurt enemies. Sometimes you can even hear Link's laughting. It's similar to zora helmet that allows you do spin attack while swimming
Not sure if it has been mentioned before on your videos but if you are getting low on ancient weapons, you can revisit all strength tests shrines and re-fight the little guardian there to collect its weapons once defeated. I do these with to extreme strength test shrines to collect the swords and axes there as many times as possible
Iirc the Shrine guardians respawn on Blood Moons. It makes no sense that the un-corrupted Guardians respawn with Gannon's power, but what can you do about game mechanics?
the biggest piece of advice i have is after you’ve visited hateno village and gotten the sheikah slate fixed, find three ancient screws to upgrade it so you can get sheikah slate + and start the hyrule compendium. once you upgrade the sheikah slate and you can tag pictures of objects in the compendium, find an ore deposit and a treasure chest and take a picture of each. it doesn’t matter which kind of treasure chest you take a picture of, they’re all the same in the compendium. but there are three types of ore deposits and the regular one (not the rare or luminous) is the most commonly found. then set the sheikah sensor to treasure chest or ore deposit and you can find gems to sell for money and many treasure chests have rupees. i figured this out early on and it helped me buy armor so i could explore even further, among other things!
Where do I go to upgrade the sheikah slate? My compendium is still locked. I have everything needed and just left the village but I didnt know how to upgrade it.
Bah, running around to get money is a waste of time, cooking cooking and once more cooking. If you lack ingredients somehow (I don't know how because they are literally everywhere) you can just farm deers in Hateno hunting Minigame. Meal from five prime meats sells for nearly three hundred.
Ancient shields (energy shields) will auto-reflect guardian beams back to the source even if you don't parry but since you didn't parry, although minimal, the shield does take damage.
@@100PercentZelda You're welcome. I just wish I knew and was able to contribute before the videos was made, sadly I'm not on social media so I don't know about this stuff until afterwards.
Burning materials weigh more because of how the physics of updrafts work in the game. Hot air is rising but it puts more pressure on the burning ground materials so they remain stationary so your updraft does not move. The devs applied more weight to burning items to ensure stationary updrafts.
I knew almost everything in the list, but the one I didn't even consider was cooking wood to make food! Because you can bomb trees in the Trial of the Sword to get wood, that's pretty huge, to be able to cook the additional wood when you get to the safe rooms. No idea why that never occurred to me, but it would have made some of my early attempts to beat it a lot less painful! Will also be very helpful trying to to TotS in Master Mode.
On the Korok seed challenges where you throw a stone into a circle of rocks, the best way to guarantee success is by creating a lane with cryonis blocks.
I always see short videos with all these galaxy brain ideas waaaaay after I've done most of the hard ones. Saw another one that used octo balloons on the rock, followed by wind manipulation with a korok leaf - blew my mind. I'm gonna try yours next time I find one!
Also, in regards to the old man’s cabin, you can actually cook him a dish that he describes in the journal on the table so you can get the warm doublet before you even hit the mountain.
Here is one: You don't need to use food to achieve a high bond strength with a horse. You can instead grind that by jumping fences and soothing immediately after every jump.
I didn’t know there was an entire app for botw, thank you so much for bringing it to my attention honestly. Also I didn’t know lynels are pacifists until you’re armed
Man, I always felt so excluded, thanks for including us Chuchus in your greetings! I hope this is the first of many small steps towards a brighter future for us all.
I recently started playing and the one thing that has really helped is a map and searching random things online when I'm absolutly stumped. I've also found it incredibly helpful to go somewhere new when I'm stumped and then return later. I have adhd and ik I can completely get side tracked and forget about something I already tried. When I return to stuff I have a whole new perspective from the experience I gained during my distractions
Thanks for the video, I found out some interesting tips. BTW for the tip #13, you can get something from a NPC only if you save them before they get knocked out. Otherwise, they’ll tell you that you’re late or just warn you about surroundings. Also, if you get near a NPC and you don’t see a name, most likely they’re from the Yiga clan so don’t talk to them, unless you feel ready to fight them.
Travel medallion is another super helpful DLC item. For glitches, general travel if there’s a place you really like, or farming such as dragon farming spots or places where there are loads of hearty durians or something. Free warp point to anywhere
if youre having trouble with eventide, (it took me ageeeeees) you can leave a few weapons on the raft before stepping on the island and theyll stay there! i think rods and boomerangs work best but stray away from metal tools because of all the thunderstorms
Another cool trick I learned by accident, similar to the metal object on the raft, on death mountain you can use any metal object and pull towards you on a rock or other metal object you're standing on in the lava and it will move you. Helpful for the Champions Ballad DLC in death mountain
Bruning materials dont "weight more" Its physics! Just like they create wind currents, its because the heat tries to go up, and since its on a moving object, the force makes it go down. Hope it's understandable :P
I was just thinking that in the game's logic a campfire weighs more than a bundle of wood, I don't think an upward draft would be enough to push it down like that
20:11 for the record. about elemental weapons from the colliseum: I sneaked there immediatly after leaving the great plateau and they were normal soldier and maybe knight weapons. . I guess we need some progress because they all wielded elemental weapons the second time I went there.
Your video is the first result when searching "Breath of the Wild" and it is deserving of that privilege. I knew some of these. I did not know many of them.
I only did the 13 hearts first so I could get the master sword first. I'm now working on stamina. Thanks for this video. I never truly have this game a run through, but I'm doing it now to get ready for the new one coming in a couple months
Yeah, in all of my runs, I only take hearts first so that I can get the Master Sword when I arrive. You generally don't need much stamina and when you do, you can just make potions or food for it.
@@mechanomics2649 stamina helps immensely in reaching the shrines IMO, just makes everything a little easier. I get to 2 stamina bars and when I have enough upgrades between my hearts and stamina, I convert at the creepy statue thing to all hearts to get the Master Sword
I would say rather.. Things I wish I realized would have made playing easier if done earlier: Hunt and gather a ton Cook. A lot. Don't do the Divine Beasts immediately as difficulty scales based on main storyline, so for an enjoyable casual play, just really do the Rito Beast for the flight perk
I cant explain how much this helped me. Been playing 100 hours wandering and having a blast. I didn't know 90 percent of these. Mind blown. You should have a warning at the beginning😂
I just want to create a perfect, flawless save file with no chests opened that don't respawn or degrade, no missing one-time only weapons, no durability lost on any weapon that cannot be replaced and no NPCs hurt, no missed dialogue, nor anything else that can be considered negative, including a single death. The Path of The Hero must be flawless. And not a single glitch or cheat used, either. ...Of course, I don't have the SKILL to do this, but a comprehensive video on this (which I know you have separate ones on) detailing a actual plan would be fantastic. BoTW is such a magnificent and complex game that I feel compelled to 100% it flawlessly, even if I am a Deku Scrub of a gamer skillwise.
Sorry, I don't know if I was blind or not, I saw your walkthrough but I---you know what nevermind, I don't have the words to fully explain what I want to say. I'm already fudging up this comment. I'll just watch your walkthrough and try to learn.
@@100PercentZelda The ones that get a pass are the ones that have one of a kind weapons that don't break or degrade, etc and even then, you only open those if it completes another list on the same save file to 100% like the Hyrule Compendium and taking pictures of everything. I have OCD and I pursue perfection whenever I tackle a game. You have no idea how calming and pleasing it feels to look at a save file that is flawless by your own design. The only downside is that touching it to play with it risks damaging the perfection that it is. It'd be liking playing with one of the Woody's Roundup dolls from Toy Story if you were a kid. Yes, they're being used and played with like they're designed to, but you're playing with something valuable that prolly shouldn't be touched. Then there's that sense of accomplishment and fulfillment. Gods, I love that feeling.
Man I really needed to hear tip 89 on my first playthrough. I thought I was just immensely unlucky when it came to the weather in Zoras' Domain before doing Vah Ruta. I remember being so frustrated that I couldn't climb up to the mountain due to the constant rain. Rain is still to this day my least favorite thing about breath of the wild, I hope tears of the kingdom is able to come up with a creative solution (like maybe make the climbing bonuses give you immunity to slipping)
I'm here to help remedy your rain woes, you know the royal armor set? That one that reduces stamina used when using charge attacks, jumping up walls, or swim dashing? During rain, put the armor set on, get on the wall, count 4 steps while climbing up, since Link will most likely slip past 4 steps. Anyway, after 4 steps, jump up. Despite slipping after the jump, you'll be making steady progress up the wall, and using less stamina than normal in the rain.
Yes! I felt exactly the same way. I went back and forth teleporting to random places to do other things or sleep overnight, then returning to check on the rain SO many times, always hoping it would be gone. It was so frustrating thinking I just kept coming at the worst times! It took me quite a while to realize the rain wasn't going to go away haha
I just got BotW for Christmas, and as nearly a complete newcomer to zelda games, I was afraid I'd get overwhelmed. This video was so great for little tips that didn't feel like spoilers, and also validated me in some things I tried to figure out!! (for instance, I left chuchu jelly out in a storm to see if lightning would strike it to make it electric) thanks for the positive boost for this zelda noob :)
13. To clarify, you do have to defeat them BEFORE the NPC is knocked out. If they're knocked out, they may say something like, "Oh look, it's the guy who stood around watching instead of trying to help." Which is just great when they were already knocked out before you knew they were there. 24. Indeed, on my current playthrough, I didn't get ANY hearts before maxing my Stamina Wheel. More Stamina means the ability to climb farther, after all, and that's just what some Shrines need. 46. Very helpful for the Korok seed puzzles where you have to bring a rock over to finish a pattern formed by rocks you can't move.
I could see you using it in the video, but I didn’t know this for the longest time - after drawing a bow with the right trigger, holding the left trigger will lock the camera to an enemy allowing for perfect tracking
This was amazing. Lots I’ve learned on my own but the quality of this game is truly shown with the depth of things you can do. I love that we can network to enjoy our gameplay better. This community is awesome.
12:16 Holding Y with torches probably the best way to melt ice. You can keep relighting arrows instead of torches if you don't want to keep a torch aorund since weapon slots are very low at the begining. 18:14 Bomb arrows makes quick work of many spots with multiple baloons. 20:15 weapons scale with world progression, before you take down Divine Beasts there will be no elemental weapons at the Coliseum. If someone wanna know the specifics: No beast = Soldier class; 2 Beasts = Knight Class; 3 Beasts = Royal class; and 4 beasts done = Elemental class. 20:30 the little dash while crouching is indeed a bit louder, also without stealth buff normal crouching speed is loud enough for the enemies to notice when you're almost close enough to sneakstrike. Either move slower or have at least tier 1 stealth bonus. 23:18 Throw the pebbles and they blow on impact. Extra fun tip: If you hold the head of a stal enemy, even aggressive animals like wolves will flee.
I would say that the most efficient way of gaining money early on (you may need practice, so do save right before you try) is to parry the Lazers of walking Guardians near the Central Hyrule tower. Parrying the shot negates damage to your shield and chips off a little over ⅓ of their health. The items they drop can be sold for a significant profit, well worth the time spent fighting them once you've got the hang of it. There are also two stationary Guardians near the tower, and two more on the Great Plateau. Go forth and profit.
I've found a decent way to make money in early to mid-game is selling all boko parts, since they drop one or two horns and a tooth, it's pretty easy to get many at the start of the game even on the plateau PS; not on master mode
when i started playing almost every time i saw a guardian i would run towards it, just so i could parry it. i've gotten pretty good at parrying guardians. but now that i know guardians have a randomized laser time in master mode, that'll be just liiiiittle bit harder
A better way to get money early if you have the patience is to get a zoom in bow and farm farosh horns from his spawn point in the jungle. You can set up a campfire in a cave nearby his spawn to keep resetting him every time you get a horn and the horns will collect for a while the most i had sitting out was around 40
Thanks to the community here there’s tons of info and help that’s much appreciated. Since I’m an absolute noob at this I’m really appreciative of the help and I’m sure I’ll be looking at the videos and the comments often
I did know most of these but there are several that I can't wait to try out. One of the most helpful tips my son gave me when I first started was that if wolves come near you, if you kill one the rest run away. Super helpful especially early in the game. I will disagree with you that it's better to get extra stamina because you can just have bonus hearts. I prefer to get hearts first so I can get the MS faster. Bonus hearts and stamina are both easy to get. I also recommend farming a few areas that are dense with items. Good video. Thanks for the tips.
I really appreciate the feedback! Thanks so much for watching and it's so cool to see people playing with their kids. My son is 2 and a half, so he's too young, but I look forward to it!
Yeah, wolves behave like the real life ones, they don't want the other ones in the pack to get hurt. Another way to scare off wolves is to hold a lit torch as wild animals are afraid of fire. I haven't tested it on ohter wild animals. It also happened to me that wolves ran away when I was holding a skeletal arm as a weapon.
Alright the bit about the Molduga and dropping bombs in 'Tremors' fashion. Mate been wasting time and bomb arrows just waiting for them to jump out the sand. It is the same with the lava octoroks. If you have no rust arms to polish just drop a bomb, have them suck it up and boom. Oh and tip on climbing, it sometimes easier running up sideways on a hill rather than going straight up climb.
The Guardians Runners have also a second weak spot, it‘s underneath them. It’s the same spot as the flying Guardian because they Share the same body just upside down. So the flying one’s on top the runners underneath. You can run them with your horse over, then jump, go in bullet-time and shoot and ancient arrow right into the spot, the spot of the runners is open and glow in a blue light for the flying one’s they are sealed for some reason.
I learned a lot of new things even tho I've played hundreds of hours. I didn't realize there was a dish that sold for more than 5 cooked Sanke carp! Thx for the info! I recommend heading for Satori Mountain after leaving the Great Plateau. There's horses right at the base of the GP, just shoot one with an ice arrow and jump on. You will need to have a stamina potion ready because Link's stamina will run out before the horse is tamed. Then I head to Satori Mountain asap for all the goodies there before heading to Dueling Peaks. I don't register my horse until I get to DP. If you leave the horse next to the water in front of the shrine and go talk to Rensa, it'll trigger the wild horse challenge. Then go back to the horse and ride up. Much faster than going out hunting one. You can't leave the horse too close to the stable or it won't trigger the side quest. On my first game, the first time I escaped death by fast traveling and left my horse behind I thought I'd have to eventually go back and get it. I felt bad for abandoning it. Then I stopped at a stable to take out a different horse and the guy said first he'd board the other one. It made me very happy to know I didn't have to go back and retrieve it and that it was ok. It's very convenient to be able to leave a horse in the middle of nowhere and not have to go back on foot to get it.
I really love your vlogs, even the ones you consider messy. They are very peaceful and make for a nice escape from my troubles, even if only for a short period of time
The flying Guardian weakspot is where their core is, and it's actually a weak spot on the other kind of Guardians too. It's just that getting to them is a LOT trickier
Amazing tips. The designers of this game have such an amazing since of humor. Had no idea about the selfies and loved that you tried to attach Hestu... lol
Great video, super helpful things to know. Though I will say if you’re a new player and are stressing about any of this or feel like you can’t remember; the game itself will tell you about roughly 75% of these when they’re relevant. The best tip is just to read what the game tells you Because most of the stuff you need is in there
Quick tip for the master sword using a fireplace and looking up at the sky as you grab it will actually allow you to get it for free no matter your heart count
That was definitely new for me: Cooking late night in blood moon nights will always make a critical hit on getting a better dish. The stone blowing guys will remove rust from your weapon. Fairies only appear when you have 2 or less fairies in your inventory, but you can hold additional ones to make them appear. No shield damage on sand, snow and paths. And some more, but I definitely forgot :D
When you go to the Kolomo Garrison Ruins for Majora's Mask, apparently sometimes a Boko beats you to it and you'll find a note instead (that's how mine played out). If that happens, you'll find it ON said Boko, at the mouth of the Spring of Courage! edit: So I totally forgot I was playing the "Second Wind" mod this playthrough, so I assume this only applies there haha Sorry for the confusion!
@@100PercentZelda haha Yeah, that's exactly what it looks like at first... For anybody looking to squeeze a few more drops of juice from the BotW orange (While we "patiently" wait for May 12th), Second Wind is a lot of fun! Traysi's Recommendation: ★★★★★
Ok, I’m 165 hours into this game and just completed all 120 shrines, and I had NO IDEA about #92 using inventory items as a weight shortcut in shrines.
Some weapons and tools have set and consistent spawn points where you can almost always find them. Such as the ax at the woodsman's shack on the Great Plateau, 2 sledgehammers by Link's house in Hateno village, a Great Flameblade (always there no matter how much of the game you've completed) on the tall island of The Ancient Tree Stump west of the Central Tower, as well as lesser versions of each champion's special weapon in or near an important home or person in their village.
I think it's about time for my 3rd BotW playthrough, I've been watching a lot more videos on it recently. I'll be sure to keep some of these tips in mind for when I do get around to playing through it again
This is a great guide. There is so much more to this game than I ever thought and I just started up again to finish it after a few year break😂 and move on to TotK.
It's so cool how I've been playing this game on/off since release and there's still tricks in here that I didn't know. Like why did no one tell you me you can SHOOT RUSHROOMS OFF THE WALLS
Thanks!
Yes and you can put the item away when it goes to eat it and it doesn't use your apple but the horse still thinks it ate it and increases its bond
with a horse, if you make it dash and then tell it to stop, you can soothe it to increase bond
@@Lassie23 Interesting.
Let them eat apples from your hand and watch how fast the bond goes up.
These are some great ones thanks so much!
wow, never knew about the boomerang tip, defo gonna try that next time i play

@@g60force dude right?! That’s gonna help me so much! Those three tree things always look like they should be something to me but I could never figure it out!
regarding the fruit korok puzzle, if you stasis the fruit that is in the correct spot on the tree/cactus that has too many fruit and then cut the whole tree down, you’ll solve the puzzle much faster!
My sister and I played Breath of the Wild, and our dad sat in the same room. He didn't really get what it was all about, but he made sure to frequently remind my sister not to use bomb arrows in "lava land" after she gave him a demonstration
That's incredibly wholesome
I love how the first tip on a tips and tricks video is to not look stuff up and play the game naturally. "Oh okay! I just won't watch the video then. Wouldn't want to ruin my experience."
@@overlordjames6644 and i almost didn't either, but these weren't so bad xD
Important note about helping NPC's: if they get knocked out before you help them, they won't give you anything for beating the monsters. Some of them just comment on how close they were to getting faded, but some will actually chew you out for taking too long to save them.
The Aris Beach chest contains an Amber, and the one in Hateno contains a Purple Rupee. They both seem to have been left over either from testing or from earlier versions of the game.
These are great! Thanks!
Haha! That sounds fun =P sounds nerve racking, but also fun
@@KatotsuSama If you're attacked by a another creature such as a wolf anywhere near the Lyonel and hit back you'll soon be met with a shock arrow.

Oh nice. I never thought of it that way. Thanks!
It's still hilarious to think about!
Ohhh I always thought that it was general game completion and this actually makes more sense
I don’t have it on my map! Do you know why? 🥲

2 clarifying notes for any beginners:
- The elemental weapons will only spawn in the colliseum after beating all 4 [spoilers]; prior to that, the enemies will hold levelled weapons of the Soldier/Knight/Royal variety!
Thanks for continuing to be such a great source of Zelda info and dad jokes, Nico! xD
thanks for the tips! These are helpful!
4 what? Divine beasts? That'a not a spoiler
@ Maybe not to most, but since this is a beginner's guide for first-time players, and since Nico chose to be vague about them in the early part of the video, I figured I would do the same.
23:08 was so helpful! Thank you!
@@VideogamePianoMan the game has been out for years now, this entire video is technically a giant spoiler. The video mentions and shows the Blight Ganons early on. And mentions the Divine Beasts.
1: if you get all the chests in a shrine a small chest icon will appear next to the shrines name when you hover over it on the map
its a good way to see if you missed anything
2: doing a spin attack with a two handed weapon will put out fires and thus fire damage, you can even do it on death mountain (but you will start burning again after a few seconds)
3: bomb arrows don't explode when its raining, enemy bomb arrows included, so you can farm for them from enemies that way
These are good ones! Thanks!
I so badly wish I had known #1 sooner! Thanks for this info! 700 hours into this game and I’m still learning.
I have like 55 hours into this game and i'm not even halfway done, there's just so much to do it's incredibly fun. You can tell how much work and love the devs put into this game, hopefully the next one will be just as good if not better than this one. Cheers
I completely agree! I'm sure it will be great!
I HAVE 700 HOURS AND IM ON LIKE 40%
My switch says I have over 1500 hours and I was like 70% done on my main playthrough.

Shooting Star Tip: If you see a shooting star fall but it seems too far away, teleport to the nearest shrine or tower, it will still be there as it won’t disappear at night :) grabbing the stars this way is faster & you won’t have to worry about the sunrise making the stars disappear :)
(If the star isn’t there after teleporting, just teleport again & it’ll be there)
That's good one!
Didn't know this one, Thanks! :D
WHATTTTTT!?!?
Haha its actually fun to do it without fighting the hinox. Feels like a movie when the hinox is chasing you
That was my very first move as the coward I am 😂 I just landed took it and ran for my life.
Yes! Thanks!
I like how number 2 is the best real life advice too - PAY ATTENTION
I also figured temporary stamina is better than temporary hearts - my reasoning being that temp hearts are used before regular hearts, but temp stamina is only used after your regular stamina has been exhausted
That note is for me... my live chat makes fun of me when I miss obvious things because I didn't read
15 other facts:
- Each sword has a unique radius for the area of grass you cut with a spin attack.
Holy cow! That's a lot! Thanks for the additions!
kind of not so usable facts..
I didn't know you could use Cryonis to break ice blocks until I fought Waterblight Ganon. Hopefully useful info 🎉
Another tip for infinite arrows (though I'm not sure if it's technically a glitch). The arrow chest in the water on the small island off the south east coast of Eventide Island respawns every time you load your game. So collect the chest, save, load, repeat.
That's a good tip I could have included
This does take longer, however, this is a good tip for the 5 fire and ice arrows on the great plateau. I always save these chests and repeat what you do
@@JustSomeRandoOutHere i have over 700 elemental arrows and over 500 bomb arrows. I don’t need those damn chests. And i finished the game 100% on normal mode. currently playing on master mode aiming for 100% as well.
You can put the teleport medallion right next to it. this way it‘s much faster. But i still prefer the shooting into fire with a 5x bow exploit.
@@100PercentZelda why include that if you already had shown a much better way to farm arrows?
Here’s a fun one: Soothing horses usually only increases their bond if they’re fighting against your control, but you can also get a free one when they slow down after using a spur. Since you can end the speed boost early by pulling back on the joystick, the fastest way to level up your horse’s bond that I’ve found (besides stuffing apples in their mouth) is by using a spur, immediately cancelling the speed boost, soothing, and repeating. 9 times out of 10, you’ll max out its bond before you make it to the nearest stable to register them.
Those are cool ones. Thanks!
@Exe.Casper.01 This is what I do.
I just started playing and I am shocked by how much more content this video game has to offer.
It really is a huge game
You can also hold a fire weapon/keep a fire arrow ready (without actually shooting it) close to an ice block, to melt it, without losing any items or damaging your weapons
That's a good one! Thanks!
When sailing on a raft, if you DON'T use the two-hit combo swing on the korok leaf and instead just swing once over and over again, you can get going incredibly fast, like game-breakingly fast
Really? I never tried that! Thanks!
Personally I like to use a chest and magnesis to push the chest against the sail. Better control and you go super fast
Your profile pic is the best thing I’ve seen all day. Also, how do you use those damned rafts? Do I need some special item?
XD
Haha that must have been a weird moment for a second
Actually they do attack you, but only if you stay around for too long
Hey Nikko amazing guide as always!
This feels like a true definitive beginners guide. Also for some reason I think the most surprising thing to learn for me was that Bokoblins actually have a sleeping schedule. To imagine that Ganon’s minions are in bed by 10 every night and up at 4 am bright and early is just hilarious to me😂
Thanks so much! Happy to help! And yeah, it's actually very useful to know too!
You touched my heart with the comments about the 10th floor of the first trials - I'm glad to know that floor setting me back wasn't all my fault.
Yes! =) it's a crazy floor!
Right?? I had given up hope for years after so many fails at that floor. Good to know everyone has struggled just as much at some point!
It was very interesting)
Edit: and kleric talked about them as well.
Oh cool! I didn't know that
Yep, want a blood moon to happen?
I forgot about that
The snowquill tunic (purchase at Rito Village) makes it obsolete. Higher defense, upgradeable, and dyeable.
@@burger_kinghorn True, but until you get the glider, you're stuck on the Great Plateau and the Warm Doublet is your only non-food related option for dealing with the cold and still be able to run and fight since there are no fire weapons in that area.

No
@@worthvapor7296 Not really, they have basic Knight weapons if you didn't do any Divine Beast.
That's interesting
These are the Lynels I have seen perform this attack:
>Tarm Point Lynel (sword)
>Lynel south of the Hebra West Summit (crusher)
>Shae Loya Shrine Lynel (crusher)
>Coliseum Lynel (sword)
>Lanayru East Gate Lynel (sword)
Notice how each of these are found on terrain that is not completely flat, whether there be nearby cliffs, downward slopes, or a pool of Malice. As a result, I theorize that the reason they perform these attacks is actually so they can correct their position given the terrain they have to deal with.
That's an interesting thought. I I would have never thought about the terrain
You can also shield bash/perfect guard the explosion.
Nope. The one on plateau found on Master Mode does the same and it's flat there.

Oh yeah! I forgot about that one!
Not sure if it has been mentioned before on your videos but if you are getting low on ancient weapons, you can revisit all strength tests shrines and re-fight the little guardian there to collect its weapons once defeated. I do these with to extreme strength test shrines to collect the swords and axes there as many times as possible
That's a good idea!
@@coopstain1728 after talking with purah shell say she upgrade your stuff for ancient gear, go back and talk to her
Bah, running around to get money is a waste of time, cooking cooking and once more cooking.
Thanks for all of the tips
@@100PercentZelda You're welcome. I just wish I knew and was able to contribute before the videos was made, sadly I'm not on social media so I don't know about this stuff until afterwards.

Burning materials weigh more because of how the physics of updrafts work in the game. Hot air is rising but it puts more pressure on the burning ground materials so they remain stationary so your updraft does not move. The devs applied more weight to burning items to ensure stationary updrafts.
Oh wow! I didn't realize that! Thanks!
Mind blown!
Yeah. It's not a big difference, but it can help a little
i actually realized this on my first time doing it, so i went through and blew up most trees throughout just so i could make a ton of "food"
On the Korok seed challenges where you throw a stone into a circle of rocks, the best way to guarantee success is by creating a lane with cryonis blocks.
Thanks!
I always see short videos with all these galaxy brain ideas waaaaay after I've done most of the hard ones. Saw another one that used octo balloons on the rock, followed by wind manipulation with a korok leaf - blew my mind. I'm gonna try yours next time I find one!
@@flashsideways950 I never would have thought to use balloons and wind. I love Breath of the Wild so much.
Even though I’ve been playing this game for almost 4 years, it’s still amazing how much one can learn in BoTW!
Yes! I'm sure there's more!
Cool!
Little correction: Every kind of guardian has 2 weak spots, the eyes and the lower side, which is more accessible on skywatchers.
Good addition! Thanks!
I didn’t know there was an entire app for botw, thank you so much for bringing it to my attention honestly. Also I didn’t know lynels are pacifists until you’re armed
You're welcome! Happy to help! =)
There's a few, I have different ones for recipes, food, and map-related things
They only attack if you pull out your sword or bow, or if you go too close to them.
Man, I always felt so excluded, thanks for including us Chuchus in your greetings! I hope this is the first of many small steps towards a brighter future for us all.
You're welcome!
Nice! Glad you're enjoying!
It's awesome to see even after so many years I'm still learning new mechanics and tricks to the game. BOTW is a masterpiece, tbh. 🗡🏹
It's a great game =)
The Radiant Armor set isn’t the only one with the Bone Attack Up set bonus, the Phantom Ganon set has it too, along with level 3 stealth.
That's true! Thanks!
I keep mine next to the crusher lynel behind death mountain.
That really is an awesome item
if youre having trouble with eventide, (it took me ageeeeees) you can leave a few weapons on the raft before stepping on the island and theyll stay there! i think rods and boomerangs work best but stray away from metal tools because of all the thunderstorms
You rafted? I CRYONISED THE WHOLE WAYYYY
I flew there from a nearby shrine
That's a good one! Thanks!
I thought everybody flew 😭😭😭
Another cool trick I learned by accident, similar to the metal object on the raft, on death mountain you can use any metal object and pull towards you on a rock or other metal object you're standing on in the lava and it will move you. Helpful for the Champions Ballad DLC in death mountain
That's a good one! Thank you!
Bruning materials dont "weight more"
Its physics! Just like they create wind currents, its because the heat tries to go up, and since its on a moving object, the force makes it go down.
Hope it's understandable :P
Oh. I see, the updraft causes a down push
Rocket Surgery😂
I was just thinking that in the game's logic a campfire weighs more than a bundle of wood, I don't think an upward draft would be enough to push it down like that
“You’re gonna forget I told you this, but bomb arrows explode immediately on death mountain.” How did you know?😩🤯

about elemental weapons from the colliseum: I sneaked there immediatly after leaving the great plateau and they were normal soldier and maybe knight weapons.
.
I guess we need some progress because they all wielded elemental weapons the second time I went there.

Your video is the first result when searching "Breath of the Wild" and it is deserving of that privilege. I knew some of these. I did not know many of them.
That's so kind of you. Thank you so much!

They're just trying to live! Let them live their lives! =P

I only did the 13 hearts first so I could get the master sword first. I'm now working on stamina. Thanks for this video. I never truly have this game a run through, but I'm doing it now to get ready for the new one coming in a couple months
You're welcome. Enjoy it the game!
@@100PercentZelda oh I am and I will definitely be using you for tips and tricks on the new game. Thanks for the response 👍
Things I wish I realized would have made playing easier if done earlier:
Hunt and gather a ton
Cook. A lot.
Don't do the Divine Beasts immediately as difficulty scales based on main storyline, so for an enjoyable casual play, just really do the Rito Beast for the flight perk
Those are good ones
Being able to stasis the acorn korok seeds was mindblowing to me. That makes it 1,000 times easier. Thanks for the info.
Haha this is an interesting goal. I never thought about no chests opened
@@100PercentZelda
The ones that get a pass are the ones that have one of a kind weapons that don't break or degrade, etc and even then, you only open those if it completes another list on the same save file to 100% like the Hyrule Compendium and taking pictures of everything.
They straight up tell you Ruta is spouting water so that's why it's raining constantly. Tip 2 is what you needed not 89.
You're welcome! Enjoy the game! It's great!
BoTW welcomes player experimentation with open arms, try out anything and it just might work!
What would I do without this channel. Saved me a bunch of times
Yay! I appreciate you
Nah man. We. Appreciate you 🤟
I usually use stasis to see if a rock is a talus or if a guardian is alive or not
Oh! That's a good one too!
I do something similar with decayed guardians and the camera rune. Never thought to use stasis on the talus’ though!
13. I didn't actually realize that. Thanks!
Walk around with stasis to scan the area.
Thanks! And yay! Thanks for also being a part of the community!
this is crazy, so much info here. im about 6 hours in gameplay, and the 30 mins i took to watch this will save me much more time! thank you brotha

Extra fun tip: If you hold the head of a stal enemy, even aggressive animals like wolves will flee.
btw great compiled of tip :)
As a fellow BOTW appreciator I enjoyed it.
These are great ones! Thanks!
I never thought of that!
I've found a decent way to make money in early to mid-game is selling all boko parts, since they drop one or two horns and a tooth, it's pretty easy to get many at the start of the game even on the plateau
PS; not on master mode
@@xxspicytacoxx1861 what happens in master mode
when i started playing almost every time i saw a guardian i would run towards it, just so i could parry it. i've gotten pretty good at parrying guardians. but now that i know guardians have a randomized laser time in master mode, that'll be just liiiiittle bit harder
A better way to get money early if you have the patience is to get a zoom in bow and farm farosh horns from his spawn point in the jungle. You can set up a campfire in a cave nearby his spawn to keep resetting him every time you get a horn and the horns will collect for a while the most i had sitting out was around 40
That it a great way!
Making money in this game is too easy, considering there’s not much to spend it on
I’m happy to see that you also have a wooden shield collection so late in the game. No one else understands the joy of those shields.
Haha! I like having all the shields

Thanks for the great comment! Happy to help!
That's a cool tip!
That's true too! Thanks!
I recently started this game. About to start collecting memories. There’s soooooo much to do in this game!
This game is huge!
As much as I know about Sarori, I didn't think about going there right away. That's a good idea
I really love your vlogs, even the ones you consider messy. They are very peaceful and make for a nice escape from my troubles, even if only for a short period of time
BTW if you find a series of seemingly random fences or similar objects, you can find a Korok by jumping them with a horse.
Yes! Thanks!
wow no way! I would’ve never known that, maybe just by accident
Woah i didnt know that!
The only one i didn’t know was that Link can do more poses in selfie mode. They are great!
Yay! Happy you got at least one thing! =)
The flying Guardian weakspot is where their core is, and it's actually a weak spot on the other kind of Guardians too. It's just that getting to them is a LOT trickier

Gotta hand it to you: the really were BotW facts that can't be found everywhere. Great job!!
Thanks so much! I appreciate that
Some weapons and tools have set and consistent spawn points where you can almost always find them.
That's a good one too!
The claymore under the Stalnox bones on Satori Mountain respawns. There's also a diamond under a rock nearby that respawns, as well.
The fact that using bombs in the end of the mine carts on Death Mountain without damage was a huge surprise to me.
Haha many people in another video were surprised about it. I had to include it
