Thanks for watching! You basically can miss any weapon with modifiers, so feel free to share your favorites! And now that you know some things you can miss, here is a playlist of all the videos I have on farming any material! The playlist is in order of how the materials show in the inventory. Hope it helps! ruclips.net/p/PL-CUFaf7BPO6Q1uEeWu6QTMSF_KoEUaEP
@@100PercentZelda makes sense i would not want to lose my stuff as well! it is really fun having the bow of light it makes alot of fights easy and it never breaks and never run out of arrows I do wish it was multi shot though lol. Thank you for the content I watch alot of your videos you are great!
@@Miss_GiggleFarts I literally feel the same. I bought botw on 2017 and I still haven't completed the main story because of my need of exploring every single pixel of the map🥲
To be honest we should have had a basement or bulk / mass storage area in the house you can buy and renovate. Unfortunately there are only 9 spots to store equipment in the house. It’s nice to know that you can have an enhanced Hylian Shield at some point.
I was hoping I’d have a house in tarry town upon completion. Instead I got to buy a house that was implied to have already been Link’s before stasis. I’d even buy the model homes! But I’m guessing that’s where the builders take up residence?
Botw 2 I’m hoping for more storage and easier storage. Breakable weapons stress me out! Or maybe no more breakable weapons! Or atleast make it so you can atleast find unbreakable weapons eventually without having to use glitches.
Remove your save file, and actually have fun getting to go back to the beginning with all of your prior knowledge (makes sense, because Link has been reincarnated again and again…), so you can attain these masterful beauties?
You can get the forest dweller sword/shield/bow any time though! Forest trial! If you don't have the set you'll be given one free of charge. They get removed from your inventory if you quit the trial early, but I'm pretty sure you can just fast travel out after starting it. If not, just speed run the trial :p I keep a forest dweller sword on me at all times for thunder storms
I feel like for BotW's sequel, there should be a dedicated drop for every possible droppable item by end-game, that way players will always be able to get specific loot-drops without worrying about game progression locking said items. Even if that does mean gold Moblins with pathetic shields. Also, funniest yellow augment item is long throw Throwing Spear. Yeet!
Breakable items really needs delicate balance. It's something I felt BoTW did poorly. Many games with breakable items feature a crafting system. Take Minecraft as a starter for 10. Yes, your crappy wooden axe or stone pick breaks quickly and often, but it's also very easy to gather the materials to make more. BoTW just misses that mark entirely. It's one thing to have any weapon break permanently, and stick the Master Sword on a recharge timer, but when you cannot craft more, and don't guarantee the player can get another one, it's very easy for the player to be left with nothing at a critical moment.
I've never played it but is it fun to people who didn't like every other zelda game? I always thought puzzles were kinda pointless and boring. That's part of why I don't like the new gow other than the fact they completely changed the game and made it worse than the ps2 games
@@MemeLordCthulhu wouldnt call myself a Zelda veteran, but I've played a handful of the past titles. I would say it's a fairly significant departure from the past titles, and botw places a much greater emphasis on exploration and nonlinear progression. (After leaving the "tutorial" area, you pretty much have all the tools you need to go out into the world and begin exploring, in whichever order you choose.) That being said, the puzzles in the shrines/divine beasts (and even when finding korok seeds) is still a huge part of the gameplay loop, so if you hate puzzles, I'm not sure I can recommend the game to you. There's still a lot to like about the main gameplay mechanics (like the physics engine is pretty fun to fool around with) but if you really really hate puzzles... TL;DR look up a vid showcasing some puzzles and see if they're tolerable to you. If not, you won't enjoy this game. 🤷♂️ hope that helps.
Honestly when I first found out about the kite shield I thought you could use it as a special glider or something.... That dream lasted about 2 seconds lol
@@MemeLordCthulhu I mean, you can just skip all the puzzles and go fight ganon after you unlock the glider. You still have to do 4 easy ones first though
One thing I hardly ever see mentioned is the fact that the Forest Dweller's Bow also has a VERY fast draw rate, comparable to the Falcon Bows in fact! This makes it one of the best all purpose default bows to use in the game. There's also an infinitely respawning one just slightly SW of the Lanayru Tower in a small cave behind some bombable rocks, making it very easy to restock after every Blood Moon. You can easily float right down to it from the tower, and there's even a Hinox in the nearby trees to restock on some good weapons too.
It’s crazy to me this game is already five years old yet there’s still such a massive community around it. I’m working on my second 100% play through and I’m still not board!
i got it somewhat recently since i wanted to play through it before botw 2. i'm on my first 100% run! i have almost everything, except for a few hundred korok seeds. and also some of these missing items
A couple things that I noticed from your video that I hadn't seen comments on yet: 1) Pretty sure Cursed Bokoblin skulls only appear/spawn in each of the divine beasts (Hyrule Castle malice will only spawn Moblins/Lizalfos skulls), so they are another "missable" picture (both in Normal and Master Mode) 2) It's worth noting that Blue Lynels only "go extinct" in Master Mode; Normal Mode players shouldn't have to worry about them 3) Another enemy that "goes extinct" due to MM upgrade tiering is the Guardian Scout I (the ones that just shoot at you and don't use melee weapons); they will only appear in Divine Beasts and certain, non-respawning DLC shrines iirc. 4) Finally, as far as unique pictures go, Kakariko's Ta'loh Naeg shrine has a unique tutorial Guardian Scout II in that it is blue and "unpossessed" compared to other Test of Strength scouts. Since this scout doesn't respawn after the blood moon, your only opportunity to snap a pic is before completing the shrine, and that is unlikely without a) purposefully ignoring it until you have the camera, or b) happening to break all your weapons and being told to return later. That being said, I absolutely adore your resource videos for BotW -- the way you play and enjoy games is very similar to the way I enjoy playing as well. Thank you for all your hard work!!
Waned to name the Guardian Scout from the Ta'loh Naeg shrine Platny. Anybody else wanted to suggest me names? Good thing that you pointed out these things (short for Platnium)
You're actually wrong about the Guardian Scout 1's going extinct in Master Mode, as they always appear in certain shrines, one being the very first shrine you usually do aka Magnesis. The lone Guardian Scout in there is always a Guardian Scout 1, as well as in several other shrines.
The house should have had an option for a storage room or storage chest to store extra meals, weapons etc for collecting. My one wish for the next Zelda game is that they allow weapons to be repaired instead of shattering. Even the most precious weapons given to you after beating a divine beast can shatter and it’s annoying to get a new one.
@@mictony999 Okay, what if you can repair them by paying a blacksmith and giving materials, but if you don't, the weapon still breaks? Maybe certain blacksmiths can only repair certain items, too. Like, you need to go to an inventor to repair Ancient weapons.
@@mictony999 the weapon durability system does not add challenge. It adds tediousness. Same thing with Korok seeds. I bet you didn't know collecting all of them attributes 70% percent to your game completion. I disagree with this comment.
4:10 There is actually another forest dweller Sword in the shrine with the blue flames where u have to spin attack at the very end to activate 6 Torches at once. Don't remember the name of the shrine bit I think it's somewhere in the Eldin Region.
i like the breakable weapons system because it gives you an incentive to find loot but i wish there was a way to "scan" and remake any weapon you got at some point even if it was really expensive
Yeah, some of the weapons I’m carrying look so amazing and are so rare I don’t even want to risk breaking them lol. I wish they gave you more options for storage at the house. You can renovate.
12:58 Actually, I think that no matter how far you've leveled up Link, a Blue Lynel can always be found in the first guard tower on the path leading to the Castle entrance. So you can always get a picture of him.
Correct, only the Spear, Crusher, Strong Sword (because the Hyrule Castle Lynels don't drop gear), Strong Spear and Strong Crusher are missable. Well, and Kohga. The rest of the pics can be found somewhere for eternity. (Yiga scythe respawns in the Hideout, Champion weapons can be reforged at their respective tribes, Hylian Shield can be bought at Tarrey Town, Blights can be rematched through DLC, Korok Sword can be temporarily re-obtained by redoing the Fire Trial of the Koroks, Kite Shield can be found on Selmie's wall)
Oh, and Hyrule Castle has a permanently White Lynel, and the Plymouth Lynel is permanently red. Unlike the other 2 non-levelling Lynels, the Plymouth Lynel actually drops gear, so that stuff isn't missable either. I forgot though, Strong Lynel Bow and Strong Lynel Shield are missable too.
Great video! As an addendum, I'll point out there are Forest Dweller's Swords in shrine chests in Shora Hah and Kah Okeo and if you want it for a picture there is a renewable one you can temporarily have within Trials of the Sword.
You also get to keep the one you get the first time you take the Korok Trial of Wood. (Same for the Forest Dweller's Bow and shield) And there's one you can take a picture of at the starting point of that trial even if you've already completed it.
It should be noted both the Kite Shield and the Forest Dweller's Sword can still be photographed after you've "missed" them, because they're on display at Selmie's Spot and the Korok Swamp Trial entrance respectively.
I'm too anxious *to* wait. Especially in Master Mode, I just get the shield from the castle hinox and then if you want another, build tarrey town. (The shield will last about 30 hours of normal use.) Not worrying about a shield actually made it easier to think about being a completionist, for me personally. I just reserved one shield slot for the hylian shield.
I remember on my first playthrough, I traveled to Hyrule Castle really early in the game. I definitely died a bunch exploring through the castle, but was able to score some really powerful weapons really early in the game, and I was so damn excited to stumble upon the Stalnox fight and was even more ecstatic when I finally beat him and found out my reward was the Hylian Shield! It was most definitely an awesome surprise and that stressful exploration ended up getting me extremely well equipped for the many many hours of exploration I had left in the game.
Shoutout to the XBC2 chests, they look cool as heck. It’s what I have in my compendium for treasure chests and honestly, great decision. My only complaint with them is that they have the star fragment insignia on them instead of something from XBC2- personally I was hoping the Leftherian Crest would be on them, or maybe the aegis core crystal. The star fragment looks great, but feels a little generic for how cool the crossover armor is.
I like the DLC chests more for some reason and have them always as 'treasure chest' , but I always put a random weapon in front of the XBC2 chests so that they can still be part of it!
Apparently, the check for whether Granté starts selling the Hylian Shield depends only on if a) you've opened its chest and b) it is not currently in your inventory, house or the overworld. It doesn't check if it's still in the chest! This means if you want the max durability shield but also want to have a Hylian Shield before reaching the insanely high upgrade threshold, you can open the chest with a full inventory, leave it there, buy another from Granté, and come back for the upgraded one later. This also works to "repair" the Champions' weapons without actually having taken them out of the chest, so you can do the same to have two at once.
*Wizzrobes getting killed by their own element* Ironic. Great video as always. Time to kill some red bokoblins and green lizalfos on my 100% file with a fully powered master sword.
I did the quest of showing the kid in hateno weapons after the Divine Beasts, the challange of the sword and the ballad..... Getting a spiked boko bat and traveler sword at that point took an hour!
@@100PercentZelda i did..... But if this is the last quest.... Literally all others quests done ( with the exception of koroks seeds) this quest is HARD .
I've probably never met anyone in youtube who responds so well to so many comments. You're just such a great example of making everyone feel welcome and their opinions heard! Thanks so much for bringing joy to every one of your viewers
To be fair to other content creators, it's not easy, but it's something I do like doing. Haha either way, Thanks so much, I really appreciate it. I do like making people feeling welcome! =)
About the Obliterator, apparently (I haven’t confirmed it myself) if you fast travel to Vah Ruta after completing it (and the Obliterator I assume) and look straight up, an Obliterator will spawn and fall to your location! I don’t know if this is legit or if it is repeatable, but I do assume it’s a non-OHK Obliterator. So more of a collectible. Also about the EXP, IIRC you don’t really need to worry much about enemies leveling up as long as you don’t complete the Divine Beasts or go on a genocide run. Divine Beasts basically guarantee a level up, but you’ll have to kill A LOT of enemies to match that same EXP gain! So not much stress, just hold your bloodlust early to mid game and save the Champions for later. They’re not going anywhere and they’re already dead anyway! Lol Regardless, I always make a beeline straight for the camera anyway! Haha!
it wasn't until long after beating waterblight in my first run that I realized that I could probably get photos of the bosses, and I don't remember if I got koga, but I'm pretty sure you can get any compendium photos that you missed from Robbie in Hateno.
Another one you can miss is the Duplex Bow with Quick Shot modifier. You can get an Attack Up Duplex Bow from some Yiga members (although it's only level 1) but if you settle for the Attack Up mod for the Mastermode chest containing the upgraded Duplex Bow you can't get the Quick Shot version since that chest doesn't respawn. You also need around 1400 XP for the max level upgrade so you don't wanna go to early either.
I am not sure if someone mentioned this yet, but in Master Mode, there is also one regular Lizalfos in Gerudo Wasteland, somewhat close to the Tower. This enemy keep in disguise, and it is very close to a tree that has one stone with a Korok seed. I had no idea that still had a regular Lizalfos in Lanayru region to be honest.
The iron siedgehammer is btw not the strongest for that, goron weapons and lynel crusher are also good to dmg ore also back than there was a glitch (sadly fix...) that you can get abilitys on the champions weapons so daruks weapon was/is the strongest weapon to kill them and that was very nice because if it break you can glitch craft a new one with a diamond that you probably have if you kill a lot of them with just 1 weapon so daruks weapon was the only champion weapon i use Also i dont know why we need to glitch to keep the bow of light yes it have light arows and 100 atk but savage lynel bow can be stronger, i dont understand that game idea i mean you kill the final boss so let the player keep what they get lol
I don't know if I am late on this, but I discovered about two years ago that if you are nearing midnight during the blood moon and you make it into a shrine before midnight and exit after midnight, you will reset the blood moon and it will appear the following night. This is useful if you want to avoid certain enemies in certain areas or enhance the effects of meals when you cook between 11:30 pm and midnight. I recently started a game, making sure that I never get caught at midnight outside of a shrine. It helps if you have the travel medallion.
I like to have my rare hylian shield with shield guard up+ because the hylian shield already has amazing durability and having max shield guard up on it makes it look really nice in my inventory.
There is a completely separate xp system for the weapons that does not rely on killing enemies to level up. To level up weapons you need to break weapons, which works the same as the xp system for enemies
@sethnelson4651 citation please. i've only been able to find detailed breakdowns that use a single underlying point system for weapons and enemies both.
No-glitch trick to have two Hylian Shields: Haven't test it myself, but I heard that the actual conditions for Granté to sell you the Hylian Shield in Tarrey Town is having opened the chest that spawns after defeating the Stalnox in the castle and not have the shield present in your inventory or anywhere else in the world. This means that if you open the chest with a full shield inventory and watch Link close it without taking the shield out, you technically fulfill both conditions and Granté will sell you a Hylian Shield without modifiers for 3,000 rupees. This is important because the Hylian Shield needs the most EXP out of all equipment to get modifiers and only the shield from the chest can have modifiers, meaning that if you get your first Hylian Shield from Granté in this manner, you can use this shield until finally grinding enough for the Hylian Shield in the chest to get the modifier you want. It's the proverbial situation of having a cake and eating it too. The only problem with this is that you need to lose *both* shields if you want Granté to sell you a third one.
i have a picture of the gerudo desert from vah naboris and it’s one of my favorites. i’m sad i didn’t think to get photos from the backs of the divine beasts lol
Fun fact. Since I was a coward when I was still capable to fight wild Blue Lynel but never did, I never got their weapons and I believe this blocks my 100%
I have high hopes for the sequel. Aside from Dungeons, something I really really want from the sequel would be more movesets and varied attack animations for Link. In BOTW, the weapon variety feels sort of lacking because there only seem to be swords, spears, greatswords, elemental variations of those, and not really anything else. If there were different attack animations for certain weapons and maybe even different types of attacks, it would feel more rewarding to find and use different weapons, especially if there were certain enemies weak to certain weapon types.
Wow. I accidentally deleted my progress on Wii U and I’m restarting, so this is actually super helpful now that I know these items are limited. Thanks for this, man.
@@100PercentZelda right?! mine too! but after having racked up so many hours of play time I can confidently say that the whole forest dwellers gear set does have several duplicates dotted around the map, I just can't say with certainty where they all are, but I can say that most are in chests inside shrines. that said, I still like to actively collect the forest dwellers gear with every playthrough even if I don't use it.
2 years later and you have helped me with this game more than id like to admit. Last zelda game i played before this was twilight princess... botw is amazing just very different (sort of) from what i'm used to lol
Kleric will appreciate the shout-out That's how I got the vanilla Hylian Shield & the Shield Guard up Hylian Shield (how much of a mistake I made) Thank you again Nikko. And thank you Kleric
I'm pretty sure you can get a mighty lynel bow from a bokoblin on a floating platform next to the bridge of Hylia in master mode. I remember trying to cross the bridge in by first master mode playthrough and getting absolutely bodied.
either way, the lynel bow and mighty lynel bow aren't missable. the Lynel on polymus mountain never goes a tier higher, and when the blue Lynel in the gatehouse at hyrule castle is out, just save and reload, then kill it. He will drop his weapons, including the bow!
Yep, there's also a few around the sokkala bridges too. You can always use the gatehouse lynels to get bows, but it's much easier to fight the floating platform guys.
I lost some pictures and really good weapons a few days ago, because i thought they were average or that there were more...Goodbye, best hylian shield and full encyclopedia. But hey, at least i still can get others before I miss them. Thank you for covering this, take care !
Finally have my house display finished. It includes a lynel crusher and spear, an attack up forest dweller’s sword, 3 durability up kite shields and 3 5-shot forest dweller’s bows. Thanks for this.
The Forest Dweller's Bow with the five-shot burst weapon modifier can actually do more damage than the Great Eagle Bow in the very specific situation of using shock arrow AOE attack against wet enemies or enemies standing in the vicinity of water or metallic objects.
I just got to loot the forest dwellers 5 shot burst bow, and I love it! I'm still new in this game. My advice is that when you start seeing weapon mods on any chests you are looting (or on dead mobs) come back and try to check those chests (save first and have full weapon inventory so you dont accidentally loot). I am happy owner of that bow and also the maxed attack sledgehammer. Love your weapon duplication glitch video, I keep pristine versions at the house and carry copies. Thank you for all your videos!!
There are 7-8 forest dweller swords in master mode. I’ve gotten them all this year. Can’t recall top of head where they were but there more than you think
This honestly makes me want to start a 6th (maybe it will be my 7th?) profile on Master Mode! I haven’t 100% a single profile, although I really want to!
Elemental 1h swords and spears plz. The ones in colusseum don't have attack up. The flame blade I had before fell through the map and autosave decided to make sure it was gone for good.
Pro tip: if you can't scan something go to the hateno ancient tech lab and complete the sun shroom scanning quest and talk to him again (forgot name) and and he will give you scanned items for 100 rupees each and 500 for elite enemys
Well I already missed the low level lynel stuff. I avoid them like the plague so now they are high level and I can't even begin to practice fighting them.
There's a rare chance that you can get a lynel bow (not savage nor mighty) with the five shot burst modifier. Don't know if it was a glitch or just something that's super rare.
5:41 woa that really is helpfull to me, i tried to get the shield max but the amount of xp for that is heigher than the xp for a silver lynel to upgrade to a gold lynel
You missed a forest dweller bow spawn point. It's in a cave on the overworld, near the Hinnox on Kincean Island near Daka Tuss Shrine. The cave is located on the north side of the island, about where the "s" in Island is on the map. I forget if it can ever get modifiers, but it is always a 5 shot bow there. Respawns every blood moon.
i think in late game (especially in master mode), having a 144 shield guard hylian shield is much better than a 90 shield with durability up+. if you fight lynels or certain gold enemies a lot, having a 144 hylian shield makes it so that your shield will lose less durability (most of the time only 1) from a attack, whereas a 90 hylian shield would lose more than 1 durability thus making it its high durability moot (1160 durability vs 800). For example: stats show that a gold lynel does 60 base damage and 150 charged damage; on top of that, the weapons they use could be as high as 108 damage. Using the shield guard formula, even the 144 hylian shield could lose more than 1 durability from just 1 attack, and the 90 hylian shield would lose much more durability. Another bummer is the durability up numbers are not shown so you can’t tell how many durability it gains. You could end up having much less durability than the maximum 1160.
@@Fielden17 it’s probably because you don’t meet the requirements for weapons/shields to have modifiers. You gain points and unlock those requirements by progressing through the story and kill enemies and eventually modifiers(blue is tier 1 and yellow is tier 2) will show up. For the hylian shield to show yellow modifiers(either shield guard or durability), you need 9k points iirc, which is the highest point requirement in the game. So if you care about having a max hylian shield, don’t pick it up just yet; if you already picked it up, reload to your last save where you haven’t picked it up.
I cannot even wrap my head around the absolute sadists who decided you can have ultra rare gear that breaks and you can never get it again and extremely limited space. It's just evil.
You missed one forest dwellers sword location. Inside a shrine. The quest is carry a blue flame stuff. At the end is 6 torches you have to spin attack to light all at once. The chest is close to there on a ledge.
TL;DR: The Hylian Shield with Durability Up + has a lot of range in its hidden durability stat, so you can test it with Guardian lasers to find a good one. Regarding the Hylian shield, it's easy to know if you got the max 144 Shield Guard Up + version, but if you're going for max Durability Up + version it's a lot more difficult to know if you got a "perfect" shield. It probably doesn't matter to most people, but if you're a perfectionist/completionist who wants the perfect stats for durability transfer, the Dur Up+ modifier will give you between +217 and +360 durability for a total durability of between 1017 and 1160. So with Dur Up+ shields there are 144 possibilities, and without testing the durability, there's no way of knowing what you got. Keep reading to find out how... I found a pretty reliable way of easily testing this though, and I used it to get one that was "good enough" (although not perfect, since I'm not patient enough for that). Once you've verified that you get a yellow mod when opening the Hylian Shield chest in Hyrule castle (need at least 9416.67 "experience" from killing enemies, well after the Lynels start turning Silver/Gold at 6000 points in normal/master mode), save your game after killing the Stalnox and making the chest appear (you'll also want to turn off Daruk's Protection before saving to make testing more consistent). Open the chest (which will create an auto-save) and verify that you got Dur Up + (if not, reload your manual save). What we're going to do next if open the map and press X to leave Hyrule castle. You will find yourself near the entrance and if you walk away from the castle just on your left there will be a Guardian Stalker. Pull out your Hylian Shield and let it repeatedly shoot its lasers at you. Each laser will take away 30 durability from your Hylian shield, so a normal 800 durability shield will break in 27 lasers (800 / 30 = 26.67, which rounds up to 27), but a Durability Up + shield will take between 34 to 39 shots before breaking (1017 / 30 = 33.9 which rounds up to 34, and 1160 / 30 = 38.67 which rounds up to 39). You can use this to tell approximately how good your shield is. You have two options here... if you just want something "good enough", just let the guardian keep shooting until it breaks. If it breaks after 38 or 39 laser shots and you're happy with that, just load the auto-save after you opened the chest and save your game to keep your shield. If you want something better, just reload your manual save before opening the chest and try for something better. If you want to go for the "perfect" shield though, having it break in 39 lasers doesn't tell you enough info, since the durability could be between 1141 and 1160. This still puts your shield in approximately the top 15% of Dur Up + Hylian shields, but maybe you want to be top 5% or 1% or get a perfect 1160. What you can do is let the guardian shoot lasers like above, but if your shield survives the 38th laser, put your shield away before it gets broken on the 39th laser. Then find an isolated enemy and let it attack you an count the hits before it breaks. The 90 shield guard should be enough to ensure it only takes 1 durability loss from most enemies, but there are a few Gold enemies in the game with big weapons that can do more, so to be safe I just went to the Great Plateau and fought a lone Bokoblin. Your shield has lost 1140 durability from the 38 laser blasts, so count how many attacks you block from the Bokoblin and add that to 1140 to get your total durability. A perfect shield would withstand the 38 laser blasts then another 20 attacks from a weak enemy. The shield I ended up keeping on my Normal mode survived 38 lasers plus 10 attacks, so it has a durability of 1150, which was good enough for me since I don't have the patience to keep loading and taking lasers in hope of getting a better one. Sorry for the long response, but hopefully someone finds this useful since I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere!
Luckily the other items used for the durability transfer glitch don't have any ranges in their durability to worry about. The Spring-Loaded Hammer has a fixed durability of 80 and the Ancient Bow has a fixed durability of 120. If you're using the better Amiibo weapons (Biggoron's Sword and Bow of Twilight), the only thing to keep in mind is that they always show the blue Durability Up modifier even if they really have the yellow Durability Up + (some sort of glitch with Amiibo items). The only thing you need to make sure of is when you find the item from the Amiibo chest that you have enough enemy experience for them to scale up and get created with the yellow modifier. For the Biggoron's Sword this is 3166.67 xp and Twilight Bow it is 2916.67. Scalable Lizalfos start changing from Black to Silver (or Silver to Gold in Master mode) at 3714.29 xp, so as long as you're seeing those in world you should be fine to get your Durability Up + Biggon's Sword (always 111 durability) and Twilight Bow (always 145 durability).
You can get the forest dweller sword in a couple of the shrines, 1 that comes to head is the shrine where the last puzzle is to do a spin attack with a torch to light all the podiums
I really do hate the "anything can break" and "you can't get it anymore" system in BOTW. I hope they fix that in tears of the kingdom. I want unbreakable items. When I put in the work to get something I don't want it to be taken away. That is an aspect of reality I don't want in a game because that is why I play games. I want a world where things are simpler and don't break when you mess up.
Having a Shield with high guard stat IS in fact useful, as it will actually disarm enemy weapons, even really strong ones, if your guard stat is high enough. I usually go for it considering you can just buy the shield again when it breaks, therefore making the Durability up not that important. Would rather have increased functionality over the rather purposeless durability up.
A great example of missing out on certain weapons would be The Weapon Connoisseur side quest where the little boy Nebb from Hateno village asks to see a series of particular weapons. If you have "Ranked" up you won't be able to get the lower ranked weapons Nebb asks to see. For example: he asks to see a Boko Bat but the invisible ranking system produces Spiked Boko Bat or Dragonbone Boko Bat. There are many more variations just like this. I mention this bc on my first 100% playthrough this was the only side quest I couldn't complete and it was extremely annoying!
I stumbled across the Hylian shield on accident at, pretty much, the start of my game. It was my go-to shield for the entire game and never even got to the “durability low” stage.
I got really upset when I noticed there were no more Blue Lynels (normal mode). I played the game avoiding searching for specific information about items and photos, you know, trying to live to experience. I enjoyed how strong the first Blue Lynels were, so strong I couldn't fight them without learning how to do it properly (my own experience growth) and also better equipment. For my surprise I noticed old enemies changing colors when I got back to some points. I thought at first glance there should be regions with stronger enemies in some regions or some mix of them. I realized there was an internal experience system after finishing the third temple (divine beast) and it made me lost almost all Lynel's gear. I got more angry and I found the Blue Lynel in the Castle and it didn't drop its weapons (I didn't know the glitch upfront) and how there was no Bokoblin's cursed head despite being the ones for Moblins and Lizalfos. I found out later there is a Blue Lynel in the DLC, but it is not so simple (time efficient) to play through the whole DLC just to maybe get a missed item. Again, trying to learn by myself without searching for info of other people who tried it. I really thought developers would leave some of the possible missable items in specific locations. At least I know what and how should I behave when I start playing the Master Mode in the future. The game is too long and I only have time to play it on vacations.
In normal mode I think you can still see a blue Lynel at Hyrule castle, but as I just learned in this video, he doesn't drop his weapons unless you do a save load at the right point. I too have never killed a Blue Lynel outside of the castle. I saw one in Hyrule field once, got scared, and snuck away. I don't remember seeing another one.
Note that you can't miss the blue lynel in normal mode because there is one that always spawns in the first gatehouse in hyrule castle and also one that spawns in the master sword final trials (in the DLC)
The one in Hyrule Castle doesn't drop anything though. So even if the Master Trials one does, that's still only the bow, the shield and 1 weapon, with the other 2 being missable. Unless, of course, you get modded stuff involved. Then you can hardcode some extra Lynels to always use regular and Mighty Lynel gear, respectively, regardless if they're red or Silver or whatever. While at it, I suggest adding a repeatable Kohga battle somewhere, which would cause all pics to become non-missable.
@@100PercentZelda i hadn't obtained it by the time i fought it, and kinda never used it afterwards because i became obsessed with the barbarian armor set from the labyrinths
There’s another wooden sword in a chest in the shrine surrounded by lava that is accessible through a long mine cart ride over lava. The trial of the blue flame.
Thanks for watching! You basically can miss any weapon with modifiers, so feel free to share your favorites! To be honest we should have had a basement or bulk / mass storage area in the house you can buy and renovate. Unfortunately there are only 9 spots to store equipment in the house. It’s nice to know that you can have an enhanced Hylian Shield at some point.
That's a good idea!
Agreed I have to many weapons that I want to hang up
WE COULD STORE ITEMS PLACES
I was hoping I’d have a house in tarry town upon completion.
Instead I got to buy a house that was implied to have already been Link’s before stasis.
I’d even buy the model homes! But I’m guessing that’s where the builders take up residence?
Botw 2 I’m hoping for more storage and easier storage. Breakable weapons stress me out! Or maybe no more breakable weapons! Or atleast make it so you can atleast find unbreakable weapons eventually without having to use glitches.
*Me who’s already missed all of this stuff:* Interesting…
yeah... I've dedicated so much into my file, I'm definitely not going back
Remove your save file, and actually have fun getting to go back to the beginning with all of your prior knowledge (makes sense, because Link has been reincarnated again and again…), so you can attain these masterful beauties?

Yeet!
Nah, I like the exclusivity of some items, it makes them special
Who knows what they're planning...
or maybe just let me display more items so when I restart I dont have to worry about this
@@commie_dog_boy i would love just a chest where you could drop stuff in
Breakable items really needs delicate balance.
Kite shield should've had extended airtime whilst surfing.
Also very informative video nikko. Botw is such an awesome game.
thanks so much! and it really is awesome
(After leaving the "tutorial" area, you pretty much have all the tools you need to go out into the world and begin exploring, in whichever order you choose.)
That being said, the puzzles in the shrines/divine beasts (and even when finding korok seeds) is still a huge part of the gameplay loop, so if you hate puzzles, I'm not sure I can recommend the game to you.
I didn't even think about that! thanks so much!

Keep collecting those gizmos! Collect simulator of the wild is such an amazing game
A couple things that I noticed from your video that I hadn't seen comments on yet:
1) Pretty sure Cursed Bokoblin skulls only appear/spawn in each of the divine beasts (Hyrule Castle malice will only spawn Moblins/Lizalfos skulls), so they are another "missable" picture (both in Normal and Master Mode)
2) It's worth noting that Blue Lynels only "go extinct" in Master Mode; Normal Mode players shouldn't have to worry about them
3) Another enemy that "goes extinct" due to MM upgrade tiering is the Guardian Scout I (the ones that just shoot at you and don't use melee weapons); they will only appear in Divine Beasts and certain, non-respawning DLC shrines iirc.
Thank you for all your hard work!!
nice! These are great catches!
yes! I forgot about the ones in the shrine
Waned to name the Guardian Scout from the Ta'loh Naeg shrine Platny. Anybody else wanted to suggest me names? Good thing that you pointed out these things
(short for Platnium)
The lynel by the Zora domain doesn't ehange in MM
You can have the champion weapons fixed; you just have to find their respective blacksmiths/weapon repair shops. EG: Harth in Rito Village.
"i want the game to be eay and have no challenge at all"
You can repair weapons with rocktoroks (I think it is the name but Idk
@@mictony999 Okay, what if you can repair them by paying a blacksmith and giving materials, but if you don't, the weapon still breaks?
Maybe certain blacksmiths can only repair certain items, too. Like, you need to go to an inventor to repair Ancient weapons.
@@mictony999 the weapon durability system does not add challenge. It adds tediousness. Same thing with Korok seeds. I bet you didn't know collecting all of them attributes 70% percent to your game completion. I disagree with this comment.

i like the breakable weapons system because it gives you an incentive to find loot but i wish there was a way to "scan" and remake any weapon you got at some point even if it was really expensive
Yeh but it doesnt drop weapons
Great video! As an addendum, I'll point out there are Forest Dweller's Swords in shrine chests in Shora Hah and Kah Okeo and if you want it for a picture there is a renewable one you can temporarily have within Trials of the Sword.
You also get to keep the one you get the first time you take the Korok Trial of Wood. (Same for the Forest Dweller's Bow and shield) And there's one you can take a picture of at the starting point of that trial even if you've already completed it.
yes! I forgot about those! thanks!
Somehow the trial was the first time i came across the eightfold blade. It's great to take picture of the simple weapons...
It should be noted both the Kite Shield and the Forest Dweller's Sword can still be photographed after you've "missed" them, because they're on display at Selmie's Spot and the Korok Swamp Trial entrance respectively.
The shield will be gone if you win it from selmie.. but you are correct about the forest dweller sword
I'm too anxious *to* wait. Especially in Master Mode, I just get the shield from the castle hinox and then if you want another, build tarrey town. (The shield will last about 30 hours of normal use.) Not worrying about a shield actually made it easier to think about being a completionist, for me personally. I just reserved one shield slot for the hylian shield.
haha it's tough being a completionist
Bruh just do the duplication glitch lmao
The star fragment looks great, but feels a little generic for how cool the crossover armor is.
they really are cool!
That's true! I forgot about that! I think you have to had "discover"the item for gante have it
Another missable monster compendium picture is in the dlc when dinraal’s horns are glowing for revali’s song.

Lol
Regardless, I always make a beeline straight for the camera anyway! Haha!
It's legit, but you can't get It.

it wasn't until long after beating waterblight in my first run that I realized that I could probably get photos of the bosses, and I don't remember if I got koga, but I'm pretty sure you can get any compendium photos that you missed from Robbie in Hateno.
yeah.. same here..
Robbie is in akkala old girl is in hateno and it’s her assistant who hooks you up with the photos
I think you can miss basically any weapon with modifiers but those are the ones I picked. haha

Oh i didn't know thanks
Every enemy is available in its base tier somewhere in Master Mode. They added that specifically so the Compendium is completable.
The iron siedgehammer is btw not the strongest for that, goron weapons and lynel crusher are also good to dmg ore also back than there was a glitch (sadly fix...) that you can get abilitys on the champions weapons so daruks weapon was/is the strongest weapon to kill them and that was very nice because if it break you can glitch craft a new one with a diamond that you probably have if you kill a lot of them with just 1 weapon
so daruks weapon was the only champion weapon i use
Also i dont know why we need to glitch to keep the bow of light yes it have light arows and 100 atk but savage lynel bow can be stronger, i dont understand that game idea i mean you kill the final boss so let the player keep what they get lol
good to know! thanks!
This video is really helping with my collectors anxiety

I like to have my rare hylian shield with shield guard up+ because the hylian shield already has amazing durability and having max shield guard up on it makes it look really nice in my inventory.
It feels cool to have
There is a completely separate xp system for the weapons that does not rely on killing enemies to level up. To level up weapons you need to break weapons, which works the same as the xp system for enemies
Oh. I didn't realize that
where did you find this? I'd like to know more about it
@sethnelson4651 citation please. i've only been able to find detailed breakdowns that use a single underlying point system for weapons and enemies both.
No-glitch trick to have two Hylian Shields:
Haven't test it myself, but I heard that the actual conditions for Granté to sell you the Hylian Shield in Tarrey Town is having opened the chest that spawns after defeating the Stalnox in the castle and not have the shield present in your inventory or anywhere else in the world.
Yes! I heard about this small trick
i have a picture of the gerudo desert from vah naboris and it’s one of my favorites. i’m sad i didn’t think to get photos from the backs of the divine beasts lol

Really?! That's all? Haha i wish I knew

Don't know if it was a glitch or just something that's super rare.
oh! That's a good one I didn't think about!
5:41 woa that really is helpfull to me, i tried to get the shield max but the amount of xp for that is heigher than the xp for a silver lynel to upgrade to a gold lynel
yeah! Happy to help!
9:55 the goron weapons and the drill shaft have the same bonus
They do? I thought they didnt... I have to check
The respawn items can't had mods =( only chests or from silver or gold enemies
i think in late game (especially in master mode), having a 144 shield guard hylian shield is much better than a 90 shield with durability up+. if you fight lynels or certain gold enemies a lot, having a 144 hylian shield makes it so that your shield will lose less durability (most of the time only 1) from a attack, whereas a 90 hylian shield would lose more than 1 durability thus making it its high durability moot (1160 durability vs 800).
That's okay. You make me want to make a poll about it. Haha
I read your name and subscribed instantly. I love Legend of Zelda as a whole.

@@100PercentZelda Yes sir!
Played this game for 4 years straight over and over and over and just now found the stone talus in Hyrule Castle last week! 😭 this game amazes me
it's a HUGE game!
You're missing various locations for the items, including chests inside shrines, you should point those locations as well
Yeah.. I missed it. Thanks!
I cannot even wrap my head around the absolute sadists who decided you can have ultra rare gear that breaks and you can never get it again and extremely limited space. It's just evil.
You can save 3 shields, 3 bows and 3 weapons in hateno village house but I understand. I wish there was room for more
You missed one forest dwellers sword location. Inside a shrine. The quest is carry a blue flame stuff. At the end is 6 torches you have to spin attack to light all at once. The chest is close to there on a ledge.
Thanks for making this.
you're welcome! Happy to help!
Now with ist, you can get a perfect shield haha but I don't know how to do it...
You can get the forest dweller sword in a couple of the shrines, 1 that comes to head is the shrine where the last puzzle is to do a spin attack with a torch to light all the podiums
Yes! I forgot to mention those
I really do hate the "anything can break" and "you can't get it anymore" system in BOTW. I hope they fix that in tears of the kingdom. I want unbreakable items. When I put in the work to get something I don't want it to be taken away. That is an aspect of reality I don't want in a game because that is why I play games. I want a world where things are simpler and don't break when you mess up.
I believe there's exactly 1 possibility of getting a modified torch. And it's in a chest at the volcano divine beast.
I got durability up at the blue flame quest I didn’t know it was rare and threw it when I finished
Really? Damn..
I tried to take a cool picture of the dragon (forgot the name) that has malice all over it since after you complete the quest it goes back to normal.
this is a great one! good catch! thanks!

thanks so much! and you're welcome!
Having a Shield with high guard stat IS in fact useful, as it will actually disarm enemy weapons, even really strong ones, if your guard stat is high enough. I usually go for it considering you can just buy the shield again when it breaks, therefore making the Durability up not that important. Would rather have increased functionality over the rather purposeless durability up.
that's why people should do the glitch and have both!
Bruh
A great example of missing out on certain weapons would be The Weapon Connoisseur side quest where the little boy Nebb from Hateno village asks to see a series of particular weapons. If you have "Ranked" up you won't be able to get the lower ranked weapons Nebb asks to see. For example: he asks to see a Boko Bat but the invisible ranking system produces Spiked Boko Bat or Dragonbone Boko Bat. There are many more variations just like this. I mention this bc on my first 100% playthrough this was the only side quest I couldn't complete and it was extremely annoying!
Can you go back to the plateau and pick up some of those? I thought the plateau didn’t completely level up like the rest of the game? Not sure.
You should have added the modified torch at vah Rudania it's a one time opportunity
that's a good one too!
I stumbled across the Hylian shield on accident at, pretty much, the start of my game. It was my go-to shield for the entire game and never even got to the “durability low” stage.
it still is a good shield!
"accident"
I feel like they just forgot some...
The perfection of the Silver Bokoblin picture in the Hyrule Compendium got me jealous
It really is a great picture
I remember using an iron sledgehammer against a stone talus, and it did just as much as a spear i was carrying(not drill shaft)
If you use the Champions tunic, you can see the hp of the enemies to double check
Yes! I forgot about that shrine and it's one of my favorite ones too...
