My favourite enemies are the Dinolfos/Lizalfos (any game, though I lean more towards OoT/MM versions), Aeralfos (Hyrule Warriors), Darknuts (TP), and Lynels (BotW).
Another funny thing about BotW's Moblins, is that when deprived of better weapons they will occasionally pick up nearby Bokoblins and toss them at Link just like the Bokoblins throw stones.
Anonymous Fellow it happens when they have no weapons around to pick up, a easy way to trigger the rock throwing is if you have a bokoblin mask, you can steal their weapons then take it off and they should start throwing rocks. It’s a little harder to steal the moblins weapons while bokoblins are around, but it’s doable
traffic cone (anime Bokogoblin) While you were training in the way of the club... I trained in the way of the blade... While you were off getting into gerudo town! I trained in the way of the blade! While you fought off the blights and beat Gannon! I TRAINED MYSELF IN THE WAY OF THE BLADE! You cannot win this battle link! Cue Ancient arrow to the bokogoblin’s face.
I only discovered this last week, and I have close to 200 hrs in botw. I was really confused about why it just disappeared right before I killed it, and then it reappeared a little ways away. I didn’t know that any non-yiga enemies teleported.
Could you imagine Nintendo coming up to a voice actor and saying “Hey, we need you to record a clip of you burping so we can attach it to the video of a pig monster eating fruit”? For some reason that’s really funny to me
I think when it comes to ReDeads, there should be something of interest to note. Link is supposed to be the symbol of courage and the very vessel of that part of the triforce. Out of every enemy he's faced, being from small to the size of a titan, the ReDeads are the only creatures that are known to actually make Link, the brave hero of Hyrule who stands against anything, shiver in fear unable to do anything but force himself to act against them before they get to close. Of all the monsters and things Link has faced, ReDeads truly send a paralyzing fear in him.
Ivaknight That’s fair. I only played the old 2D, and WW was my first 3D (and didn’t care for OoT even a little when I got it for my 3DS. Not worth the hype I was stuck hearing ‘cause I missed that system. Unpopular opinion I know.) So... OoT&MM are a “break in tradition”, as Old Zelda has waaaay more gibdos, and gibdos always becoming stalfos (which was kept in LBW and the LA Switch)
One of my favorite Bokoblin facts is their reaction to bees. Bokoblin's DO NOT like bees. If you destroy a hive anywhere near them, the Bokoblin will run from the bees in terror.
SSDARKPIT You can befriend wasps tho. I’ve had paper wasps just Chill or investigate me ‘cause Curiosity/no personal boundaries. Some even befriended yellow jackets...SOMEHOw
Back in the day I couldn't properly read alot of enemy names so my fav Zelda enemies are Fiery Alfredos and Lasagnas. Also known as Aeralfos and Lizalfos.
...I legit you were talking about the NES Likelikes which legit look like lasagna. Which we always called them “patty cakes” for whatever reason. (Tf is a patty cake besides a nursery rhyme lyric, anyway?) Which to be fair, I was four. (But I still associate those sprites with...idk. Little Debbies.) (...I also made up lyrics about Link fighting Meatballs to the main theme. To the point I legit thought for the longest time Ganon was “Meatball” vs...ganon. To be fair he’s a pig and you get that Meat midway through, anyway?)
@@anonymousfellow8879 lol, thats amazing my friend. Tbh lasagnas does make more sense for Like-likes, ur totally right, I honestly have no idea how I got Lasagna from Lizalfo, other then the L. I love how we both used foods to identify our Zelda enemies. Apparently a patty cake is just a cupcake, ya learn something new everyday.
I've always found the Bokoblins from BotW very adorable. I hardly fight them if they're just chilling in a camp. There was one instance by the Gerudo Highlands that I saw a single Bokoblin screaming at a block of ice. Of course I had the Majora's mask on (it grants you invisibility to most common monsters for those who don't play) and I came closer. And the block of ice was actually a trapped Bokoblin, probably from the Ice Wizzrobe I fought just before. I thawed the little guy out and the two danced when reunited. It was so cute and I legit felt happy. To this day I called them Brokoblins.
One time I was playing breath of the wild with my friend, and I kept dying at a boko camp because I kept shooting fire arrows into tall grass. Eventually we came upon some of the bokoblins around the campfire. They were telling the story, and my friend narrated for them.“ So there was this human, and he came over to one of my friends camps, and he shot fire and then he died and it went boom!” And when he narrated the boko saying boom, It got up and started dancing around the fire.
MarioMaster 412 I will not deny that there have been times when I would sneak up on a gang of bokoblins around a campfire and I thought, “aww they look so cute mingling with each other”
You had said that the Darknut in twilight princess lacked much personality; I personally disagree. The Darknut is so stoic. He challenges Link in a One-on-One Mano e Mano challenge of skill to see who's better. He doesn't seem even specifically evil; he's just a knight who wants to challenge another skilled warrior. And then when his armor is off it becomes a true battle of equals. Short sword vs. Short sword. The animations for him almost seem heroic. But those are just my thoughts. Love your channel, Zeltic!q
I feel the same! They’re clearly devoted to their arms, and even on the assumption that they’re evil and fully support the antagonists they serve, they don’t run when disarmed or join you like King Bulbin (although he himself is a cool character). When stripped of their armor, the double down, so sure of their skill and honor-bound that they stake their lives on it willingly. We’ve all seen how quickly they can close distance when out of armor - They could retreat if they chose to.
it's hard to understand the personalities of a character who never talks but Im not sure about them wanting to honorfully battle link. to me it seems like they are just foes dedicated to guarding whereever they are positioned. like it's their duty and they'll apparently die in service to their duty. I totally agree on the stoic part though. still like your description though.
Also, fighting more than one of them is over of the most challenging experiences in the game. The 3-on-1 fight in the cave of ordeals is harder than Ganon.
I’m probably alone when I say this but I absolutely adore the Lizalfos in BoTW, the way they try to camouflage, their design, their weapons, everything, I just find them both fascinating to watch and fight. Just walking among them with a lizalfos mask only for them to gather around me and attempt conversation is one of my personal favourite things to do in this game when I’m bored and that says a lot
kip I was hitting than runnin on the other side of the lynel before he saw me.When he had so low life left,he teleported away lol.Tho his life bar didn’t fill back,so i could still 5 shot him.
I remember it happened in my first master mode playthrough. It's scared the shit out of me, because it was the red Lynel from the mountain near Zoras Domain
Dude, I beat a Golden Lynel in Master Mode. 9 hearts, 2 wheels of stamina and that’s it. No master sword and no food buffs. They’re easy to fight after you master their pattern.
Nobody ever talks about Majora's mask and ocarina of Time's wall master's. Those things are freaky. A giant monster resembling a human hand that lets out a hideous, almost wind tunnel like shriek as it drops from the ceiling. The dead hand didn't really scare me as a kid but those did. The floor master's at least had the decency to not surprise you and aren't as common.
The reason Wallmasters are so scary is because they can actually HARM the player by forcing him to start the dungeon all over again from the beginning, just for being careless a second. The other enemies can harm only Link, but they will hardly kill him, and are usually easy to defeat. I never really feared any other enemy in the series. But those shadows following me from above in Forest Temple.. that thing made me tense.
One of my favorite Zelda enemies are the Bulblins from Twilight Princess. Unlike most of the standard Zelda enemies like bokoblins or lizalfos, Bulblins are bandits rather than tribal beast. They are also more goblin than Bokoblins and Moblins, who are more akin to pigs, atleast in other games. But the main reason I like them is because of their king. He's not as cunning as Ganondorf or commands any dark magic, yet he is the most tenacious enemy Link has ever encountered. He gets thrown of a bridge twice, and tries to kill you two more times. And unlike any enemy like him, King Bulblin shows respect towards Link and even admits defeat before Link could kill him. The Bulblins are a unique enemy in Zelda and it would be cool to see them again.
I think the Zelda team has been adding behaviors to the Bokobins in each game. In TP's Gerudo Desert, I ran into a campfire at night and they were basically just hanging out like the do in BotW. They didn't notice me, so as a joke I threw a bomb into the center of their camp. I was surprised because they actually reacted to it in a hilariously realistic way (which I believe still works in BotW). Most of them looked at it in surprise and one of the immediately hopped to its feet and pointed at the bomb, started to yell and then bomb blew up killing all of them. I laughed so hard I paused the game for a while. I like that the Bokoblins gain more personality with each game they appear in.
Verdant Mistral Oops, you’re right, i always get them mixed up. Still, it is important to recognize that they’re different, because there are bokoblins in TP too (mostly in the earlier areas in the game).
My most memorable moment with a lynel was when I was trying to get some weapons from one. I was slowly whittling down its health when I suddenly remembered I recently obtained ancient arrows. I was excited to use it, expecting it to have immense destructive power. I shot it, the lynel was sucked into a black hole, and I stood there, dumbfounded and angry I wasted five minutes on a battle. The lynel was almost dead and I shot him into another dimension. wtf Edit: I just remembered another moment. When I was trying to take on the lynel in the coliseum, I grabbed one of the explosive barrels, ran in screaming, "Dodge this, motherfucker!" AND THEN HE DID. I did not expect the AI to actually fucking dodge, and then the lynel proceeded to curb stomp me. XD
CeceCat90 Gacha Videos and More actually, it’s not just lynels. If an ancient arrow is used on any enemy other than guardians and bosses, it will unfortunately make the enemy and their weapons completely disappear
I had the same sort of reaction when I first used an ancient arrow on a Lynel. I just thought it would do a ton of damage, but the Lynel just... disappeared. And that's how I dealt with Lynels until I needed a hoof for a sidequest, and then I had to fight one for real. Ahh good times. Lynels are a piece of cake for me now, but I was so terrified of them before 🤣
The first time I played Twilight Princess and faced the darknut in the temple of time I was 100% convinced this was Ganon. That was the amount of threat I felt from the darknut lol. A very memorable experience for sure!
That’s a fun thought - Ganondorf training and maintaining his swordsmanship by dueling Darknuts. If he weren’t OOT’s Ganondorf, I’d even like to say (for the fun of it) that he obtained notoriety and respect by being an extremely skilled Darknut / Knight
@@bubblewrap8823 Actually i could see that happening, cos Ganondorf's armor is very similar to Darknut's. All the black with the gold polished embellishments...I would say that Ganodorf does wear a darknut armor...
Lol, oh come on. Darknut is tinny compared to Gdorf. Ganon (OOT) is wizard-looking too, deals a lotta damage. I didn't feel threatened at all by the TP ones a big metal man that deals,,,, 0.5 herts of damage Loool!! Try a Breath Lynel, you'll cry
I'm probably alone in thinking this - and I understand cause these are annoying enemies - but the botw wizzrobes really have grown on me. The fact that they smile and wave at you cracks me up every single time. On another note - I was really happy to see the TP darknut on here because fighting those things for whatever reason was just fun.
darknuts are always fun in general. i haven't gotten to them in tp yet but finding them in wind waker was always such a joy. i loved dancing around them and really feeling like i'm fighting an enemy with as much skill as i had
When I got halfway through the video I thought to myself "I'm going to be sad if the bokoblins from breath of the wild isn't on this list." I wasn't disappointed.
They’re basically the same as darknuts, only with different weapons, which, semantics. Personally I think they should all be called “Dark Knights” since it’s a translation error, anyway, that just got the “well it stuck” treatment. The Lorule Knights are essentially ALL darknuts and iron knuckles, with various weaponry, and it’s fantastic.
@@ishthewall1915 Because there wasn't the sage of spirit trapped within one. Because they aren't the only enemy in OoT that destroys its environment. Because they don't do eight hearts worth of damage in Master Quest. Easy, no personality. Excellent.
I've never thought of it quite like this. This video really gives me a greater appreciation for Bokoblins. Some of their actions are kind of like teaching the player some of the things they can do, like. . ride bears.
I still remember the first time I fought the darknut in the tower of the gods. It took me forever as a child as I was a just mash sword player. It took me a while . They still have that feeling of satisfaction when defeating them.
I love your vids zeltik. My favourite enemies in zelda is the guardians in breath of the wild, I used to fear going up against them but now I enjoy taking them on in many creative ways.
Have you ever tried using your horse as battering ram against the stalker variety? You'll need the 5 speed horse, which you can find in a plateau between Upland Lindor and Lindor's Brow. Nothing quite like running straight through a guardian stalker at full speed. The horse loves it.
11:02 I actually like that detail. The Lionel doesn't immediately draw its bow out on Link even with in distance, and seeing you prior. Its like it's giving you a chance to turn back before the attack. And when Link draws the Master Sword, it realizes you want to fight- Attention to detail nice.
So frustrating at times because I'm going for extra bits by cutting off the legs...then they run away just fast enough for me to miss until I get fed up and bust out the ancient shield (I'm bad at parrying).
@@coreymartin6363 run close to them pivoting so the laser doesn't hit you, paralise it with stasis, and cut a leg with any medium-strong weapon, when it runs out of stasis just keep breaking legs to stun-lock it, easy, works every time
@@coreymartin6363 Yes like Oscar said, you'll have to stick with them but it imperative you keep busy on their legs (lol, sounds weird sorry). Use something powerful enough to cut a leg in 3-4 hits or you're toast. That then stuns them (can even flip them) and quick race over to another - rinse repeat until all legs are done. If you need a break, you can rest to heal up or recharge stuff, before hitting the immobilsed (but still very dangerous) body
I like bokos so much, they have so many unique interactions. They eat apples and meat, and will hunt for it and then eat it afterward. They are scared of bees and rocks, running away when one gets near them. They are so cute and unique, I love all the interactions that are programmed into the game
The Wind Waker Redeads traumatised me so hard when I was young with that damn scream of theirs. Whenever I did another playthrough after the first, going into the Earth Temple or seeing one of the buggers elsewhere would have me scrambling for the mute button, anything to not hear that scream again...
I like Darknuts but my favorite will always be the Iron Knuckle, something about the way they slowly walk up on you shows how confident they are in destroying you and i love it, Darknuts are similar and still incredibly badass but i prefer the Iron Knuckle designs of OOC and MM
I’m glad to see TP’s Darknut on here, and I can only hope we get something similar in BotW 2. They were minibosses on their own, but try fighting five at once in the Cave of Ordeals.
I also love how when disguised, BotW Bokoblins will laugh at the silly things you do and and eventually just dance with you. I also love how Lizalfos will give you a lick when disguised, they have a lot of personality too, they get frustrated, talk to each other, and enjoy chasing and catching bugs and frogs to eat. Lizalfos have so much personality to them that it's fun to just watch them having cannonball contests with each other
For Cool Factor, definitely Lynels, which look incredible in BotW. I hope we get to see more of them, and learn more about them. They’ve always fascinated me. The TP Darknuts looked cool, but the WW ones were my favorite. They have their own Code of sorts-I always get the sense that although they WILL form a mob, they still fight with some sort of honor. They try to avoid getting within another Darknut’s attack range, their attack patterns allow Link to rise again (unlike TP which just keep hitting you), and they’re incredibly well-versed and creative with different forms of weaponry-if disarmed, martial arts or a moblin’s dropped polearm will do. Then there’s the mystery about their crests that’s never fully explained, yet bears resemblance to the Hyrulian Crest, yet only fits a Darknut’s waist, not s hylian’s or any other “people race” (including burly folk like the pirates and sailors) Oh. And the WW wizrobes. THOSE were terrifying. They prolly made me jump with that Laugh of Death just as much as the redead’s prolonged scream. And SUMMONING more wizrobes or darknuts as part of their repertoire?! ...these guys are seriously underrated. (Their BotW counterparts are downright chilling and demonic.) The WW redeads definitely have the most chilling scream, but they kinda lose points a bit ‘cause I will quite literally chuck bombs at them with no remorse like all the memes about house spiders and arson. But...I refuse to trust that they’re Really Down until after the smoke clears. (It’s a good thing the wizrobes never summoned THEM.) And moreso 2D Zelda (does LBW count as 3D or 2D? Whatever, it’s handheld vs console), can’t forget the river zora...who actually just want Link to get OFF their turf more than anything, and are easily avoidable. The LBW had so much personality, and many didn’t ever attack Link and were actually kinda bokoblin levels cute...and these so-called “monsters” had their own Sage! That’s UNHEARD of, as they’re treated as completely separate from the Zora in OoT and TP, and further divided into “Sea vs River” in Oracle of Ages. Just, the lore possibilities here! - - - (...I really do think the ‘Blins are devolved zonai. They...just have the same aestheric as the Barbarian Set, that’s vaguely mirrored in Zonai or Unnamed Misc ruins throughout the series, and have always had hints at a culture, best seen in BotW. And other monster races as well, but the Blins have the best comparisons. And it’d be a fantastic Twist to BotW2 to have them be zonai descendants after so much heart went into designing them in BotW-as well as making things Morally Ambiguous and Dark that way, which was the best part of Link’s Awakening. Which, the Ganondorf Corpse in the trailor is largely sympathetic to me-even if he is Evil because Traditionally Evil, that Hand Seal was still useless and downright cruel. So Monsters ARE the Zonai would easily fit right in with how I’m seeing BotW’s Themes, “promise of Dark”, and hints in the Teaser.)
Darknuts are honestly a huge favourite too, but I have to say I'm disappointed people don't seem to like the BOTW Molduga's! I think they're so fun and amazing to fight, the first encounter with one is terrifying in a way no other encounter is.
To spin their crusher, you need to go behind them. They will never spin if your standing in front of them. You can also dodge the spin attack by Crouching under the lynels belly :)
Lynels should have their own theme music. Definitely. Then you will know when you are about to be sniped with a shock arrow. Or when you are going to get roasted by fire breath. Or one-shotted. Or... When you are gonna jump onto a massive beast and hold on while hacking away at its neck. And They can teleport. What?!
Lynels actually have a different theme then the other enemies, but its not their own since they share it with the yiga. Even if they didn't share it I wish it was more unique though, because currently the only difference is that once the song reaches its "climax" it keeps on going on instead of resetting to the beginning of the song like if you were fighting any other enemy.
My favorite 3D Zelda enemy would have to be Breath of the Wild's Lynel. I love the Bokoblins, but the Lynels are just way too cool and a nice battle. I don't know if you're planning a favorite 2D Zelda enemies video, so I'll just say Minish Cap Octoroks for mine here.
I definitely agree with your top two on the list, and why they're there. Fantastic choices! Breath of the Wild has utterly transformed how I look at Zelda, and has become my favorite in the series. Magnanimously beating out what was a two way tie between Twilight Princess and A Link Between Worlds. I'm currently on the road to 100% in the game, including the DLC... And I'm blown away by everything from the ground up!
As much as I love Breath of the Wild, I really wish they would have added more variety to the enemies. There are a lot of Zelda staples that I would love to see in the world of Breath of the Wild! My first playthrough, I was expecting to see Leevers littering the Lanayru desert, tektikes hopping along the mountains in Eldin or giant Peahats disguising themselves among the trees of Faron. It also could have been interesting to see Goriyahs return as a class of enemies that primarily wield boomerangs, but perhaps Bokoblins serve as a sort of replacement for them much like Lizalfos seem to be a stand-in for the classic Zoras. I've always assumed that Breath of the Wild primarily pulled from overworld enemies of Zelda 1 because of its focus on exploring the surface world and the choice to bring back Lynels for the first time in a 3D game as the game's toughest enemy. But I've theorized based on the teaser that the sequel will have a greater focus on exploring the dungeons of Hyrule, perhaps delving into the darker parts of Hyrule's history. Maybe in the next game we'll see a return of more enemies like Stalfos Knights, Dodongos, Vires, and perhaps most excitingly, Dark Nuts could take on a role similar to Lynels for these underground dungeons.
When I heard that thing about the Bokoblins, I remembered when I got the Bokoblin mask from Kilton. From that moment, I saw two Bokoblins and declared them as friends, since they wouldn’t do any harm to me. I also had great fun knocking them (not my friends, other Bokoblins) all around with Kilton’s hammer.
9:22 OMG, the first scream from a re-dead was the most frightening thing I've experienced in Zelda since the beginning scene of TP's Blizzeta, beating even the time a giant floating Zant-head teleported right next to me when I still didn't know I could kill it with a sword. Nevertheless, I think my favourite enemy is the shadow bird from Twilight Princess, which has some sort of one-eyed trunk in place of its head. It's just so perfectly menacing; and still, one of them is later tamed and used to aid Link. Like Zeltik said on the video: mastery of balancing light and dark.
Moblins also appear to talk/listen to one another when multiple are sitting by a campfire. And I love how they are the most DGAF enemy in BotW. They'll pick up and throw Bokoblins at Link, like they just don't care about them. But for me personally, my favorite enemy (in BotW) is hands-down the Yiga. Both the Footsoldiers and especially the Blademasters. The concept behind the Yiga Clan is so freaking cool, and the character designs for the Yiga themselves are sick. I love them. I really hope they return in the sequel, and that they aren't just written off as "oh, they're bad guys, all of them need to be eliminated".
ABSOLUTELY agree with you on the TP Darknuts. They were absolutely terrifying when you first met them and the reveal was so cool and intimidating. Their combat mechanics were very interesting and uniquely challenging as well. Edit: also the BOTW Lynels. Love them. My favourite enemy by far. I like how they're not a mini-boss, though, as it creates the vibe of a truly elite monster, rather than the bumbling and hunkering Hinoxes and Taluses, as well as allowing them to be more common and make you constantly alert when you're in larger flat plains.
The coolest thing about Redeads in WW is that they take FOREVER to explode after they die, whereas most enemies are pretty instantaneous... always makes me take a second look back. such a good game
One of my favourite things to do in botw is wear the bokoblin mask and join their little gang! It's so fun running around with them! Also very fun to wear the lizalfos mask and have one lick you and the put it's hand under it's chin like it's wondering why you taste so odd haha. I know a few people mentioned this but another cool thing about bokoblins in botw is that sometimes moblins will use them as a weapon when they don't have anything else which is so ridiculously funny! Also I was legitimately terrified the first (and second, third .....) time I fought a lynel in botw. I used to go out of my way to avoid them until I became confident fighting them!
My favourite picture I took in BotW is the Blue Bokoblin compendium one, which is one going "blehhhh!" at the camera. Strong 'last photos taken before disaster' energy. I love the little guys so much.
Lynel in Breath of the Wild are by far my most favorite enemy. I love the design and how smart they are. Did you know they will also react to Remote Bombs link throws? They will approach and when they see exactly what it is, they blow a fireball and leap away from it? They are incredibly awesome
@@Lepushii Well a lot of people are scared of them, even if most of them aren’t that dangerous. I personally just kind of find them creepy and not pleasant to look at. I’m glad that you have an interest in them, but I just don’t like giant spiders trying to kill me in my Zelda games.
One thing i love doing in botw is grabbing my bokoblin mask and giving the bokoblins some fruit it’s hilarious to see them squabble when another bokoblin takes their berries these things are just too funny to not be on the list thanks Zeltik! You’re a madlad!
I had like 5 hearts when I faced down the ploymus mountain lynel for the first time... Let's just say that by the end I had really learned to flurry rush
We need more video game enemies like bokoblins. They act like real, primitive, human-like creatures. They're perfect. The only thing else they need is randomized personality traits.
But then again. The Bokoblins are honestly really good with their survival skills. Especially if they're even able to build their own forts as well. I mean think about all of the wood crafting they have to do and materials they've had to find to build those things.
I’d say my favourite is likely Twilight Princess’ Darknut. Both the mini boss in the temple of time and the others found in Hyrule Castle made for some of the most genuinely challenging yet fun moments in combat for me. It genuinely felt like an enemy knight with genuine skill and strength rather than some savage monster or barely sentient goblin. Too many times I felt like enemies were only superior due to numbers or map design rather than being genuinely dangerous in speed, durability, armour and weapon skill and power, as well as their trait of changing into monstrously fast and agile forms once they get to low hp. The Breath of the Wild Lynel coming a close second to me. Also I think the ‘bokoblin’ in Twilight Princess is called a ‘bulblin’
I didn't know that lynels teleported until after 200+ hours of gameplay. I let my roommate take a spin at the game, and she freaked out and got caught when she was gathering shock arrows from the Zora Domain lynel. Boy were we both surprised when she jumped off the mountain and it teleported after her.
My favourite appearance of the bokoblin is the one holding a fire rod near an ice block. If you kill it and melt the block, another boko will come out of it. He was just trying to save his friend and you killed him!!
I'd have to think a bit about which is 'my favorite' Zelda enemy - but my favorite Breath of The Wild enemy 'experience' is when a Moblin picked up a Bokoblin standing next to him and chucked him at Link. The Bokoblin was not happy. It was hilarious.
Honestly my favorite enemy is the Wind Waker Darknut. While it not being the strongest, I love how Nintendo gave such a fearsome opponent such a charming design.
I like the Bokoblins more as creatures than as enemies. Suppose I could say the same for the Moblins (which I love the design of) and Lizalfos in that game as well.
In my opinion the skyward sword stalfos are pretty underrated. The atmosphere, the first appereance and the design are nice. The fight itself would be also really good if the controls arent that shitty.
link from skyward sword is the strongest link of all zeldas, he got the full triforce and even made the master sword with each of the nayru din and faron temples, he also fought around 500 bokoblins without a problem at almost the end of the game.
My favorite moment is when bokoblins point at you and scream when you either take of the bokoblin mask, or take their weapon after they have dropped it 😂
I just love how smart the enemies are in BoTW! The AI literally gives them so much personality, and that fact that (just like link) they have so many different combat opportunities!
I used to watch so much Zelda youtube back then with PBJ’s Zelda month and Zelda dungeon. Zelda dungeon was great for 10 Year old me. Your content is classic and awesome. I love it keep it up.
I've only seen three after over 400 hours of playing. My first encounter was in the mountains on my way to the Flight Range from Rito Village. The bear slapped the hell out of me and I ragdolled down the cliff. Mipha was like, "What the hell, Link?"
I would if it wasn't for the appalling drops they gave you. I mean, a comet piece, a 24atk battle axe (24??!?!?!??) and a meh shield? Their bow is nice but I mean, a freaking Hinox gives you a 36 Power sword and you don't even have to engage a fight, it's free (just sneak up, grab and run lol, screw him wasting weapons) But in fact, the hinoxes I feel are better; they drop the best , gourmet 'ready meals'
@@LD-_0606 True,, but maybe they should have dropped totally unique things too like a ring of strength or silver arrow or something a bit off-centre. I don't mid, but the early Lynels dropping weapons of only 24 damage is brutal by Miyamoto when you're so weak early on xDDD
I love how brutal botw lynels are and it feels like they aren't controlled by Gannon cuz they can care less if your passing through in some instances. The lynels constantly looking at you with red eyes at all times while fighting you like they are trained warriors and not oafs with big bronze weapons I want these kind of lynels besides botw2 in future Zelda games.
Nice list, I think the iteration of the Lizalfos was also best in BOTW.. they were typically always featured as a miniboss in past 3D Zelda games, but in BOTW a more common species in the overworld and they could do so much more... spit at you, tongue lash, tail whip, swim, go camouflage, breathe fire, use electric arrows, elements, and use boomerangs... which seemingly originated from the Lizalfos weaponry... good stuff!
Something I just noticed whilst playing and listening to this, is that not only do Bokoblins go out of their way to snag a fruity snack, but sometimes another one will try to go for the same piece of food. And, when only one manages to get it, the other will stomp in frustration. It’s amazing attention to detail and I can’t believe I just found it out
Thanks for watching! Who are your favourite Zelda enemies?
(EDIT: Congratulations to @blackclohz for solving the secret in only an hour and a half!)
Zeltik My favorite is the Phantom from Spirit Tracks and Phantom Hourglass
But...have you seen a bokoblin pick its snout? I have. Its hillarious. Wear Majora or the Bokoblin head
My favourite enemies are the Dinolfos/Lizalfos (any game, though I lean more towards OoT/MM versions), Aeralfos (Hyrule Warriors), Darknuts (TP), and Lynels (BotW).
My favorite is the Linal breath of the wild
My fav enemies? Uh...that bird from MM is kinda cool. I like the Guardian Scouts in shrines, those are fun
Another funny thing about BotW's Moblins, is that when deprived of better weapons they will occasionally pick up nearby Bokoblins and toss them at Link just like the Bokoblins throw stones.
I laughed my ass off when I saw that for the first time xD
Anonymous Fellow it happens when they have no weapons around to pick up, a easy way to trigger the rock throwing is if you have a bokoblin mask, you can steal their weapons then take it off and they should start throwing rocks. It’s a little harder to steal the moblins weapons while bokoblins are around, but it’s doable

I die laughing when I see that

Moblins also hit each other when link gets in a small place they can’t reach.

One more reason not to play BotW.

Thaaaaat’s voice acting for ya!

Gibdos Knights and Twilight Messengers do that as well in TP
@@anonymousfellow8879 I always thought gibdos were just redeads with mummy wrappings around them

That’s fair. I only played the old 2D, and WW was my first 3D (and didn’t care for OoT even a little when I got it for my 3DS. Not worth the hype I was stuck hearing ‘cause I missed that system. Unpopular opinion I know.)
So...

Not trying to mean but its "mano a mano" ( its a Spanish phrase)
I think you mean "Mano a mano", not "mono-e-mono" lol
it's hard to understand the personalities of a character who never talks but Im not sure about them wanting to honorfully battle link. to me it seems like they are just foes dedicated to guarding whereever they are positioned. like it's their duty and they'll apparently die in service to their duty.

The way their skeletal arms can be used as a boomerang, lol
They way they lick you when you are in disguise...
I would like to see Dinolfos in the sequel.

BOTW bokoblin are the literal representation of "me and the boys"
Also love how moblins can sometimes throw them at you.

Their stal varients do it too. And stalnox will start breaking off it's own bones to throw them at you
I am even more terrified of Lynels now, knowing that they can teleport.
It usually only happens when you lead them too far from their territory while fighting it
kip I was hitting than runnin on the other side of the lynel before he saw me.When he had so low life left,he teleported away lol.Tho his life bar didn’t fill back,so i could still 5 shot him.
You didn't know? xD
yep, but they've been specially upgraded from ALLTP
Nobody ever talks about Majora's mask and ocarina of Time's wall master's. Those things are freaky. A giant monster resembling a human hand that lets out a hideous, almost wind tunnel like shriek as it drops from the ceiling. The dead hand didn't really scare me as a kid but those did. The floor master's at least had the decency to not surprise you and aren't as common.
They're in a lot of games.
The Wall Masters in the Forest Temple traumatized me as a kid, lol
I would like to see Floormasters like the Ocarina of Time return for BOTW sequel.
@@CrashDunning specifically ocarina and majora representation of them is terrifying tho
I want to try that now lmao
Those are moblins. They're different from bokoblins.
@@1umbreon4life Actually if you want to play that way, they are Bulblins. But they serve the same form, function, and role as Bokoblins.
Verdant Mistral Oops, you’re right, i always get them mixed up. Still, it is important to recognize that they’re different, because there are bokoblins in TP too (mostly in the earlier areas in the game).
They're talking, dancing and sleeping in botw which really adds life to the game
The lynel was almost dead and I shot him into another dimension. wtf
Edit: I just remembered another moment. XD

My favourite aspect of that fight is when you ask Midna for advice, she basically says "What? I'm not the swordsman, you are! Deal with him!"
@@bubblewrap8823 Actually i could see that happening, cos Ganondorf's armor is very similar to Darknut's. All the black with the gold polished embellishments...I would say that Ganodorf does wear a darknut armor...

I’m glad to see TP’s Darknut on here, and I can only hope we get something similar in BotW 2.
They were minibosses on their own, but try fighting five at once in the Cave of Ordeals.
Without using bomb arrows
Isn't the ''try fighting 5 at once'' actually a huge knock to them? Try fighting half a Lynel,, still deal 5 hts damage xDD
One funny thing I found with lynels is that if they haven’t spotted you and you throw a remote bomb at them, they may jump back and spit fire at it
I also love how when disguised, BotW Bokoblins will laugh at the silly things you do and and eventually just dance with you.
Then there’s the mystery about their crests that’s never fully explained, yet bears resemblance to the Hyrulian Crest, yet only fits a Darknut’s waist, not s hylian’s or any other “people race” (including burly folk like the pirates and sailors)
Oh. And the WW wizrobes. THOSE were terrifying. They prolly made me jump with that Laugh of Death just as much as the redead’s prolonged scream. And SUMMONING more wizrobes or darknuts as part of their repertoire?!
...these guys are seriously underrated.
(Their BotW counterparts are downright chilling and demonic.)
The WW redeads definitely have the most chilling scream, but they kinda lose points a bit ‘cause I will quite literally chuck bombs at them with no remorse like all the memes about house spiders and arson. But...I refuse to trust that they’re Really Down until after the smoke clears. (It’s a good thing the wizrobes never summoned THEM.)
And moreso 2D Zelda (does LBW count as 3D or 2D? Whatever, it’s handheld vs console), can’t forget the river zora...who actually just want Link to get OFF their turf more than anything, and are easily avoidable. The LBW had so much personality, and many didn’t ever attack Link and were actually kinda bokoblin levels cute...and these so-called “monsters” had their own Sage! That’s UNHEARD of, as they’re treated as completely separate from the Zora in OoT and TP, and further divided into “Sea vs River” in Oracle of Ages. Just, the lore possibilities here!

(...I really do think the ‘Blins are devolved zonai.
Loved this comment. Yes, the WW wizzrobes; oh how I miss them and their manic laff xDD

I’ve never seen a lynel teleport or spin the crusher
Craig Tucker lynels only teleport when they get too far away from their original spot. They teleport back where they came from
To spin their crusher, you need to go behind them. They will never spin if your standing in front of them. You can also dodge the spin attack by Crouching under the lynels belly :)
that’s a good thing keep it that way
This year, I'm thankful to finally get a new Zeltik vid
I can’t deny that there have been times when I saw a gang of bokoblins and thought, “aww they look cute mingling with each other”
Lynels should have their own theme music.
This is NNN yet you included The DarkNut? You Madman
As a 29 year-old, watching Child Link stop in his tracks after hearing a piercing ReDead scream still gives me considerable anxiety...
3:58 "Look at this wind up punch." Did you catch the haymaker it threw before that one!? Poor Link just got blasted...
Seeing a BotW Lynel from a back perspective sprinting at you while holding a spear is legit the most scariest thing
Personally, I really like the Phantoms. A pity they're only in 2 games so far.
Gold Wade same. I love the phantoms. They looked so badass
2 games?
@@despacitopotato2665 Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks. Why, did I miss any?
@@GoldLight73 No I just forgot spirit tracks :/
petition to bring back phantoms in botw2
(SPOILER ALERT) They’re back, have two major side plots, and you can even infiltrate their hideout!
You've given me a new perspective on the bokoblins now haha. Newfound interest
"lynels can teleport"
IVE BEEN LIED TO MY WHOLE LIFE!
The coolest thing about Redeads in WW is that they take FOREVER to explode after they die, whereas most enemies are pretty instantaneous... always makes me take a second look back. such a good game
Will you ever do “Which is the strongest Zelda”? :(
It's Shiek
“Number one breath of the wild Zelda not only did she face Ganon alone holding him at bay for 100 years have you seen that ass”
@@The_Juice14 you mean that personality
Thinking the same here....
I wonder if the knights will be back for BOTW 2, that would be awesome
My favourite picture I took in BotW is the Blue Bokoblin compendium one, which is one going "blehhhh!" at the camera. Strong 'last photos taken before disaster' energy. I love the little guys so much.
I had absolutely no idea that Lynels were able to teleport. 200+ hours and I didn’t know that.
Lynel in Breath of the Wild are by far my most favorite enemy. I love the design and how smart they are. Did you know they will also react to Remote Bombs link throws? They will approach and when they see exactly what it is, they blow a fireball and leap away from it? They are incredibly awesome
My least favorite Zelda enemy: Literally any giant spider. Only arachnophobes would understand.
Ohhhh, I HATE those. None more so because of how boring they are, yet get treated like royalty in Zelda game as they're in nearly every one
OH HELL NO
I actually like spiders, I study them quite a lot and theres no reason to be scared of them actually.
@@Lepushii maybe for you...
Really wish they bring back twilight princess enemies.... am i the only one who wants this?
@@thedonnie1 I M J O E

@@thedonnie1 My bad bruh. Sorry bout being upset and all. Take care tho.

I can't find love AND I can't have more TP enemies in Zelda games. Truly a sad time.
But then again. The Bokoblins are honestly really good with their survival skills. Especially if they're even able to build their own forts as well. I mean think about all of the wood crafting they have to do and materials they've had to find to build those things.
8:16 With the redead in triforce heroes just being blobs of clay rather than the sleepless undead. (screw you Smash Brothers trophy lore!)
I really like the Garo... ReDeads. But if there is one enemy I like the most it’s that Dead hand. Gives me the creeeeppppsss
I love just watching the moblins in breath of the wild. They have so much... personality it’s just charming to watch them!
My favorite enemy is windwaker’s darknuts with their comically oversized armor
I'd have to think a bit about which is 'my favorite' Zelda enemy - but my favorite Breath of The Wild enemy 'experience' is when a Moblin picked up a Bokoblin standing next to him and chucked him at Link. The Bokoblin was not happy. It was hilarious.
Currently purchasing a copy of BotW for my girlfriend :3 yeah found out she's into not only Zelda, but Mario and even anime! She's a keeper this one

@@Matthew10950 how many women do you know? Lol
Honestly my favorite enemy is the Wind Waker Darknut. While it not being the strongest, I love how Nintendo gave such a fearsome opponent such a charming design.
Yes. But I cried when I knew you could just snip his armor off xD
I mean, that made it so baaad
0:44 dude I literally have that on a shirt!
Zelda dungeon was great for 10
Year old me. Your content is classic and awesome. I love it keep it up.
Am I the only one who’s never seen a bear in botw
Go look in the forest to the right of the fields where the guardian corpses are near the twin peaks. I see them there lots near the stal-hinox.
You haven't fully experienced Breath of the Wild until you have rode a Bear.
I've only seen three after over 400 hours of playing. My first encounter was in the mountains on my way to the Flight Range from Rito Village. The bear slapped the hell out of me and I ragdolled down the cliff. Mipha was like, "What the hell, Link?"
Dont worry. I had played the game for a LONG while, and I was walking through a random forest, when I saw my first bear.
@Raun Smith Well yeah, they are more fun but Bears are finnier to me.
Botw Lynels are so much fun to fight. My advice though is to practice and play loose. If you’re tense you are slow and less accurate.
I love fighting lynels, anyone else?
I would if it wasn't for the appalling drops they gave you. I mean, a comet piece, a 24atk battle axe (24??!?!?!??) and a meh shield? Their bow is nice but I mean, a freaking Hinox gives you a 36 Power sword and you don't even have to engage a fight, it's free (just sneak up, grab and run lol, screw him wasting weapons)
But in fact, the hinoxes I feel are better; they drop the best , gourmet 'ready meals'
@@netweed09 silver lynels give you better things , they can ggive you weapons that go like above 100
@@netweed09 yeah , true
I go lynel hunting when im bored im botw
I love how brutal botw lynels are and it feels like they aren't controlled by Gannon cuz they can care less if your passing through in some instances. The lynels constantly looking at you with red eyes at all times while fighting you like they are trained warriors and not oafs with big bronze weapons I want these kind of lynels besides botw2 in future Zelda games.
Wind Waker is love.❤️
Nice list, I think the iteration of the Lizalfos was also best in BOTW..
they were typically always featured as a miniboss in past 3D Zelda games, but in BOTW
a more common species in the overworld and they could do so much more...
spit at you, tongue lash, tail whip, swim, go camouflage, breathe fire, use electric arrows, elements, and use boomerangs... which seemingly originated from the Lizalfos weaponry... good stuff!
“Hyrule is a land eternally bound to destruction and rebirth”
China: First time?
Something I just noticed whilst playing and listening to this, is that not only do Bokoblins go out of their way to snag a fruity snack, but sometimes another one will try to go for the same piece of food. And, when only one manages to get it, the other will stomp in frustration. It’s amazing attention to detail and I can’t believe I just found it out
Broke: BOTW is just Dark Souls with a Zelda logo.
Woke: Maybe if Dark Souls had bokoblins, it would be worthy of the comparison.
