It's specifically created to let Hylians swim up waterfalls like the Zora do naturally. Therefore Link isn't really swimming up the waterfall, so much as he's basically just being propelled up the falls by the tunic.

Link is hearty (as shown by the fact that lesser gloom sickness, which is crippling for normal hylians, is something just standing in daylight or moonlight can be overcome by Link) but Ganondorf's attacks can still inflict this super-gloom in the final fight.

For 18 rockets giving the same hieght as 1, thats because the 18 rockets take much more energy to power. So they go the same height. They just take different amounts of time. Also demonishing returns, where because each rocket has weight, when adding one it doesnt add all its power, so going from 1 to 2 is slightly under 2 times the power, 2 to 3 is slightly under 1.5, and so on until adding more does worse. (The power increase is multiplicative, as each rocket does the same work) One entry in and already we have something that makes sence if you think about it for more than a few secconds.
