Accotink Creek February 2023 Trout Fishing

- I had the a little time to fish before work the day after a stocking on Fairfax County's Accotink Creek. The population seemed fairly low and scattered, but I did manage to hook a few and land one nice Rainbow. Not a destination creek, but if you live in the urban jungle of Northern Virginia, it is one of only two local streams. Both are under Delayed Harvest Regulations, but not sure that is closely followed, so it helps to fish within a week or two after a stocking if you want to catch a few. Good luck if you go.
Memancing yang indah 👍
Terima kasih!
Trout population is low when you arrived even after restocking 😮 but you caught a very nice trout with trout magnet, Shore Fisherman 👍🏻
Thanks sir albertus! I am grateful for your continued support!
Nice fishing video.
Many many thanks!
Nice catch, SF!!
Thank you MeTimeFishing!
Great looking fish
Thanks 👍John Ames!
Nice.. good to get on one or two anyway
It is heavily pressured so always feel like I've accomplished something when I don't get skunked! Thanks for watching!
Υπέροχο βίντεο
Σε ευχαριστώ πάρα πολύ!
Cool video! I haven't tried trout magnets before but have only heard good things!
I find they are best in fairly small streams, though I do use them in rivers for shad when paired with a metal spoon. Thank you for stopping by!
At least you managed to get one. Still nice to be out taking a few cast
I am always happy to get one, but I do like to give people a realistic view of the conditions and this year seems like a tough one on the creek. Thanks for stopping by Random Fishing!
That was a nice Rainbow, it would be nice if the State had the resources to have a Game Warden as a constant presence there.
Fish get poached there very quickly after stocking...
RWA Fishing and serapheum, agreed on the poaching/enforecement. It would be nice, but it would be even better if we lived in a world where people respected the game laws. I saw a group fishing with worms on my pre-work trip today and informed them that worms were verbotten. They did switch to a lure. I like to think I influenced them to follow the rules, but it is just as likely the lure came off and the worm went back on as soon as I moved onto another spot. Thanks for watching!
@@theshorefisherman1 they need cameras there. So did you report them?
@@serapheum out of curiosity, because I fish this creek all the time, why would people poach fish from this creek? It's such a dirty, urban creek. Do they eat them? Seems like the fish would have ingested a lot of toxins and just be dirty in general in this area.
@@jamesklix3814 I assume they eat them and look at it as free fish. I also assume most do not have licenses. That stream is a delayed harvest stream.
looking forward to seeing you during the shad season!
It will be here before you know it! Thanks for stopping by!
What exact part of the creek?
rodrigo, most of my fishing is done in the Americana Park and upstream section. I do not usually have much luck in Wakefield Park, though I know others do. Thanks for stopping by!
Wow...very nice your view my friend. So beautiful fish.
Thank you very much!
