SwinnyUK That's cool. I really liked MGS4 even if it was a flawed. Same thing with Demon's.
cloudtx I never get bored of it, its very much like the Souls series in the way that there's tons of equipment/options for you to chose from so naturally, it can be different every time you play it, it has tons of replay value and I think that's why I love it so much, its one of those games that I can just obsess over for months at a time(just like the Souls series!).
So yeah, it might sound weird, but MGS and Souls share quite a bit in common in my mind, even if they are opposites of each other in so many ways..

1. Dark Souls, probably the greatest replayable game of all time.
Amazing boss and era design, challenging play and one of the best tense moments I've ever had when playing a video game.
2. Red Dead Redemption. How the western genre was reborn in a game. This is a most of any of us western fans who can't get enough of the wild west. With a suberb protagonist and a vast gameplay tha gives you everything that you love from the western themes. From playing slice of Texas hold em to collecting bounties. Red Dead Redemption got it all!

I love your Top 10 and Hidden Gems video because they are, more often than not, so different that what mine would look like. There are countless channels that recycle the same titles over and over again. I don't need another channel that tells me that Ocarina of Time or FFVII are the best games ever... I get it. What I do "need" is someone who will bring to light other fantastic titles I may have missed. Great work and keep 'em coming...

PS3 is MILES ahead of 360 in terms of exclusive games. It's not even a close race, 360 got absolutely wrecked.

Marko Stamenkovic playing both of them myself, I feel 360 had the better menu setup for browsing the shop, it felt more organised, PS3 definitely had better games, just not enough exclusives. can't believe everyone's still playing killzone 3 online..

XBOX 360 had Saints Row 1 exclusive and Halo but in general PS3 had more quality titles over the life cycle
Metal Gear Solid 4 and Uncharted 2 and 3 give me the feels.
MGS4 fuck yeah, but UC 2/3.....the cinematics, art style, music were pretty good, story, level design were decent...but oh my THE COMBAT AND GUNPLAY, Oof awful awful.

@@andyd6338 I know this is 8 months old, but YES I couldn't agree more, seriously let me down that franchise did, I seriously can't understand why people went so crazy for them, they're 8/10 games at best, & more like 6/10 for me personally, especially 3, I remember completing the whole game while I was ill (got a disc only version for super cheap back in the day) & man the whole game was torture, super linear, but not in a good way, its asif they try and feel cinematic & open but they're just empty & lifeless

the first Uncharted was the best for me, Naughty Dog just tried to please people after that and it changed the original design of those games.

1 through 6 might be my favorite 6 games of last generation to be honest. Next to GTA 5, Rayman Legends and Gears of War 3.
Great list, Killzone 2 is on mine. Everything about that game was phenomenal except for the dialogue in the story. I absolutely loved how the guns felt and the dark atmosphere. The online was awesome, best enemy A.I, spectacular visuals. I dreamed once being on the flying vehicle dropping from the cold stormy sky, wind blowing in my face all geared up. Felt amazing. We crashed into a mall and those scorpion spider things from Resistance came from around a corner and attacked us lol.
1. MGS4. Still looks equal to most games today. It can be played 1st or 3rd person. Action or stealth.
2. Infamous1&2. Great good and evil missions powers and stories. I still feel its underrated.
3. Littlebigplanet2. What's to say? Amazing there wasnt lawsuits for the createkit. Outstanding concept executed on MMs part.
4. Uncharted 2 Could be best 3d action game ever...
5. God of War 3. Still havent beat choas sadly but man this game shows the PS3 power.
6. Demon Souls. Where it all started. Still wish the servers were up. Brutal 3rd person action/rpg gem
7. Heavy Rain. Great experience that I recommend. Beyond 2 souls as well
8. 3D Dot Game Heroes. A great comedic twist of Legend of Zelda. Sleeper for sure!
9. Twisted Metal. Despite its flaws still great. Wicked track designs great controls soundtrack storyline co-op multiplayer...
10. Mortal Kombat 2011. I had 360 and this one. Trust me PS3 is the system for fighters. Smoother game outright. Best control, Kratos, tower stage with 3 ways to kill your opponent, Modnation Racers/Playstation All Stars/LBPK all worthy as well. I would say MLB the Show but this years could be the best Lol. Peace

Lord Alfajor It's great, options are never a bad thing, I just thought it was hilarious. At that point the game seemed like it had become completely irrelevant then I happened across an article about it and i was like "What?... Why now?" lol. Had a PC master-race guy try to tout it as a PC victory to me lol. Seems like it would have been way more beneficial and at least relevant oh I don't know.. within a year of release? even GTAV I feel is starting to lose it's window of opportunity. I know they still have a huge player base but I feel if they wait much longer it will be a bit irrelevant when it comes out.

***** Hey look, a spokesperson of the hive mind arrives. Definitive edition or not doesn't really matter. Chances are it will release digitally and digitally only and more than likely the EULA will state flat out you own nothing you pay for. Have fun throwing your money away without opportunity to exchange the product for any form of value in the future. As a collector I can tell you PC gaming is fun, but buying for PC is the dumbest thing you can ever do for your wallet. If I hit a hard time I can always sell a couple games to cover some bills. I sell through private sales, nobody takes a share of my exchange or anything and the value of my product is never gauranteed to be lower than retail cost as it is with PC. So play whatever version you want, but supporting the purchase of it on PC is just no-where near an educated decision no matter how you cut it. It's short sighted and destructive.

One of the greatest consoles when it comes to exclusives.
To me personally it goes The Last of Us > Uncharted 2 and Beyond: Two Souls > Heavy Rain. Beyond is really underappreciated. It was one of the best games I've ever played. The only thing that bothered was the love story that appeared out of nowhere and was totally unnecessary.

I wouldn't put Ni No Kuni first... but it is an absolutely brilliant game and really heartfelt indeed.
I wanted to try it but..... is it good good? Im 19 and really didn't like the demo light heartiness, is it at least up there with tales of xillia if not persona 4?

PS3 had a ton of great exclusives, another one i found lots of fun, that alot of people don't ever mention was 'Everybody's Golf: World Tour'. known as 'Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds' in the US, a fun golf game that doesn't take itself too seriously, plus you could play as Kratos and Sackboy.

Hey MJR, you probably already know this by now but Wipeout HD came out physically in Europe and the PS3 is region-free, so make sure to grab yourself a copy if you haven't yet. Love your videos.
Speaking of water-racing (i.e., jet ski and motorboat) games for the PS1, I think Midway did a GREAT job of porting Hydro Thunder from the arcade version (racing seat not included), especially for the time during which the industry was moving from a time when a number of different consoles were the norm --e.g., Nintendo vs. Sega, or Atari 2600 vs. Intellivisiion vs. Colecovision (the real one, not the "Chameleon," which blends in with its environment, by looking like a clear-plastic Atari Jaguar console that would seem to play games (which fooled a lot of investors, anyway)--to more specs-based differences on machines that generally function in basically the same way
Great list! Didn't expect Ni No Kuni to be so high, but glad it is. One of the most beautiful games on the system. Puss in Boats was my guy through till the end.
I would probably have put Yakuza 4 on my list, I played that so much when I got it and found the story and with its many turns great! and maybe tales of Symphonia Chronicles.

I love Unreal Tournament 3 for the PS3. Yes, I own the Xbox 360 version as well, but they never got the Titan Map Pack (which has now been taken offline for PS3 users). That means new users to the PS3 version cant grab those maps to play offline with, which does suck. Thankfully, I still have them on my system.
I love the PlayStation 3. Even though I have a PS4, I still play my PS3 from time to time.
And it's still pretty fun.

Luis Reyes I have LittleBigPlanet 2, but honestly... it's a good game but I don't like the floaty controls. It's just a personal thing..
LBP is glorious, and would be on my list. However you can't deny it still runs like crap. All these years later and LBP2 still hard-crashes my PS3 causing me to have to manually turn it off and back on and send error reports. The game seem to have so many things going on that they also have tons of problems.
Tim Gunnar rad profile pic, and I agree. The loading times are atrocious and lags when too much is on screen. If all the problems were fixed then it'd be a top tier exclusive. But it's still great game imo

Yes, LBP is rife with problems, but being so damn huge and ambitious it's forgivable for me. I have stayed away from LBP3 so far due to it's wonky release. Hey, maybe in 3 years I'll stabilize! haha

Tim Gunnar media molecule is currently working on the ps4 port of tearaway (I think that's the title). I played lbp3 and it's a step down sadly. Can't wait for tearaway for ps4

WipEout HD Fury had a physical release here in Europe. MGS 4 was released maybe 2 years after the PS3 was first released. I wouldn't have put South Park, since it's not an exclusive title.

Uncharted 2 was one of the few games where I was actually a bit depressed when it ended just because it was over.

If I were to post a top 10, in no real particular order:
Heavy Rain, Uncharted 3, Last of Us, MGS4, Killzone 2, Folklore, Valkryia Chronicles ( Now also on PC,) Echochrome, LittleBigPlanet, and Demon's Souls. Demon's Souls is probably my favorite game of the whole generation. LBP was one of the most fun games I ever played, MGS4 is epic, Folklore and Echochrome were very unique games, different from what you usually see and I'm glad to see titles like those come out.

Great list of games! The ones I've played are definitely really good, and I really need to play Uncharted and The Last of Us sooner or later. Also, I'd just like to point out that Ni no Kuni isn't Miyazaki. Sure, Studio Ghibli did the animation for it, but Studio Ghibli and Miyazaki aren't one in the same either. Miyazaki actually had nothing to do with it. Nevertheless, the Ghibli animators are very talented and their work in Ni no Kuni is as good as always. That was just my nit-picking side getting the best of me there.

You guys understood what top game listing is all about! If everyone would put the best high budget games on that list a lot of known games would be repeated. But the way you presented it, one could discover new titles worth playing. Thumbs up.
I have 2 PS3 consoles both softmodded (CEX Console and a DEX Console) my toddler brother is just getting to the age where you could give him a controller and he could start working out how to play console games so I’ve taken the CEX and I’m slowly filling it up with as many good releases as I can that would suit him. A few of the Lego games, Batman Arkham Asylum, Crazy Taxi, Sonic unleashed, Spyro and loads more. Instead of him getting the latest games and console, I don’t want him to grow up not being able to appreciate a game regardless of its graphics so instead of giving him the Xbox one, he can have a PS3 with a tone of classic iffy graphics games to enjoy so when he’s older he’ll hopefully know it doesn’t have to look photo realistic to be a great peace of art.

Dark souls 1-3 are on Xbox and PC, as well as Playstation.

Valkyria Chronicles is on Steam now :D. Probably one of the best games on the PC for the price.

Gavin Lobo Guests usually have to stand on a small step stool on my videos. The only other way around that would for us to do a force perspective thing, like they did in the Lord of the Rings movies... but that would be weird.

That's weird at 1:15 when you say Wipeout HD (Fury) didn't get a physical release as it has been released, at least, in Europe (and Europe is always the forgotten continent when it comes to release games here and it's even worse for physical copies). Now, anyway, Wipeout Omega for the PS4, fixes this issue for you, but just in case, you ,ow know that it exists (Wipeout HD+Fury on PS3).

I think you only think that because you probably grew up playing it (I suspect that is the case, at least). I feel the same way about Xbox 360 as you do about PS3, but mostly because I grew up playing it. That isn't to say that PS3 is bad at all, but I don't think it is fair to call it the best, especially as it is seen as the worst Playstation by tons of people due to it's reletively small game library, slow launch, and inferior game performance to Xbox 360. If it is your favorite, that is fine. However, I don't think there are enough reasons why it should be known as the best, especially because it didn't really innovate at all.

I grew up playing master system, Snes and playstation. The ps3 is the best console of all time. It has a huge library, the first proper HD console, had a wireless six axis motion controller, blu ray and destroyed the 360 in game performance and graphics. A few weak ports early on where badly optimised, that's all. It's the most innovative playstation of them all.
This is all obviously subjective but your comment just isn't truthful in many respects.
@@54356776 It didn't destroy 360. Both ran games comparably, and sometimes the 360 version was better, and others the ps3 version was better. Also, tons of generation-defining games came to 360 long before PS3, or never came to PS3 at all (Oblivion, Bioshock, Left 4 Dead 1-2, Portal, Mass Effect, and Halo 3 to name a few, as well as some popular indie games like Castle Crashers, Braid, and Spelunky). Of course, PS3 had Uncharted, Last of Us, and a few other exclusives and timed exclusives, but in general I think it's fair to say that the 360 had a bit better 3rd-party support than PS3 for most of it's lifespan, while both consoles had comparablly good first party support. Also, how was the PS3 the first HD console? 360 ran games at 720p resolution too, and came out first.

All of those games are on ps3 and most are upscaled/improved over the 360 version. This myth that the 360 had better performance or better 3rd party support is simply conflating the early part of the generation where the previously released games got ported to the ps3 without really understanding the system. After the early part of that generation games were virtually identical or better on ps3. This is simply the truth.
Both were fine systems and I don't mean to argue over old (or new) consoles but this always comes up when either console is mentioned and it's simply a myth from the early part of the generation.
I miss that generation to be honest, we didn't really appreciate just how good we had it, since then games have become reletively stale and uniform.

Yeah, I always thought a game in the Miyazaki Universe with simlar storytelling and art direction would be amazing. When it was announced for release on PS3 I was super excited. If you got it strictly for the aforementioned reasons, you won't be disappointed!
Also, buying a game for a console you don't have isn't that weird. I bought a 1994 copy of System Shock recently. I just like the art, slip covers, and oversized box. I don't think I'll ever buy a 3.5" Floppy disk reader to ever play it. It just looks cool on the shelf.
