Bobbie, you are amazing! What an inspirational and informative video. I accomplished a couple outcomes I wanted to in 2019. Still working on formulating the results I want for 2020, one of which is to stop making excuses "because I'm old" (73! One of my daughters is always fussing at me for this one!). And I'm tired of hearing it, so I need to stop making the excuse because I want to do more stuff! Being retired and "older" shouldn't get in my way. I say "on to a happier, more active 2020". When I was setting up my calendar for the new year, I checked last year's calendar on the same date and noticed that I'm starting 2020 14 pounds lighter than 2019, even with recovering from total knee replacement. Your point is right on target for me. When I stopped putting so much pressure on myself to lose 25 pounds last year, I was able to concentrate on the things I needed to do versus pressuring myself to accomplish unrealistic goals.
Thank you for always showing us positivity and what results will come from it! Happy New Year to you!

Actually, that’s the way most teachers lesson plan. But what is refreshing is that you limit your goals. That is such a shift. We are told we have so many things to change. Being able to concentrate on one to three things is definitely a mind shift. Thanks for all your work in helping us set SMART goals.

This is really life-changing for me! I ended up in the hospital with Congestive Heart Failure and spent Thanksgiving alone in the hospital while the rest of my family was together celebrating the day. I am on a low sodium diet (EVERYTHING has sodium in it!) and I have been feeling very deprived because of it. I've been feeling sorry for myself and my heart is so weak that I need a combination pacemaker/defibrillator and can barely shower and dress myself. All of a sudden I can't live alone and I can't live where I was living in my cute condo that made me so happy. I've been feeling really depressed. Thanks to you I know how to think about this and what to do to live my best life with a serious illness. Once I have my surgery and I go into recovery I am going to start each day thinking about you and thanking you for helping me and then I'm going to go about the business of strengthening my heart and getting as healthy as I can and accept the fact that my life has changed but I'm alive. I will stop and thank God every day that I'm alive for my husband, children and grandchildren. I'm going to find the happiness through my grief and focus on what's good and celebrate even the smallest improvement. I can't thank you enough for sharing your life with me so I can live mine whatever the outcome will be. God bless you, Bobbie!

Bobbie, this is a great way to look at goal setting. One of the things I need to change in my life is that it is ingrained in me to look at things negatively. Because that is the kind of atmosphere I was raised in, and living with chronic illness, my mind just naturally goes in that direction. I think this approach can really help me. Thank you so much for putting your heart into this. May you be blessed as you pursue your goals.

Thanks for the worksheet! I'll have to see it it might help this year. I tend to follow through things that interest me...like "start a RUclips channel" but goals that aren't funk like "eat healthy" or "go to gym" tend to fall off after about 4 - 6 weeks.

    Thank you sweet girl!
For the last 18months I've been doing low-carb/keto to bring my labs back into sync.
I had hypoglycemia and rollercoaster sugar numbers cycling and worsening.
My goal was to lose weight but improving my numbers/labs was more important. I have lost some weight but my numbers/labs are perfect, my energy has improved some and my overall health is better. Slowly healing 56 yrs of damage from the standard American diet. Tiny steps of progress is what keeps me going. Baby steps count. Any steps count. When we are looking for opportunities to change in tiny ways, everyday-we can see those opportunities and make a conscious decision to grasp the next rung of progress. Praying Blessings for your journey and planning girls! We can reach the outcomes one baby-step decision at a time. 💗💗💗

Bobbie! This is a wonderful video!! You have hit the nail right on the head about goal setting and these steps you have outlined sound perfect!! I don't believe in New Year's Resolutions. I feel these don't work because a change has to come from the heart and mind not because everyone else is making resolutions. I am going to start outcome planning and use your outline (which is a smart idea!). Thank you so much for sharing this process! Two of your changes are exactly like mine: lose 30 pounds & spend quality time with my husband. I have not been doing very well on losing weight. I think this is the kick start, mind switch that I need. Your idea is brilliant and I am so excited!! Thank you, Bobbie!

This is radically different from the MANY books I have read and strategies I have attempted in order to reach goals. I repeatedly have been puzzled and frustrated by my poor follow-through. I now realize that my thought process was "IF I want to A-B-C then I HAVE TO do X-Y-Z". The IF automatically introduced the possibility that maybe I didn't really want A-B-C. The HAVE TO instantly triggered my passive resistance. I am going to try it your way! Thank you!

This comes at the perfect moment for me. Christmas evening I suffered a heart attack along with AFib. I was already in the hospital for another issue when this happened. God was protecting me. Anyway, they were unable to do stents because I have too much blockage and will probably be looking at open heart surgery in the next 2 months. But now!!!! I need to change everything I do..every bit of food I take needs to be for health not pleasure. That's difficult. You are beautiful. Thank you. This kind of reminds me of the concept of a vision board where we focus on the desired result.

Thank you so much for this. I have been taking a long hard look at my life, my husband, and our family. We need some major changes. The biggest one, being health. He is scheduled for a heart cath on Friday, and the unknown, is very scary right now. I have found, that youtube, definitely, holds you accountable, and that is a great thing. I appreciate, you taking the time to do this, and you will look super cute in your future leggings!

Bobbie I am a fairly new listener since Christmas. I was feeling your pain about the how to fill adult children's stockings and you gave me some great ideas, thank you! I really enjoyed this video about goal setting. Could you please do a more detailed one on how you use the GTD method? I am feeling overwhelmed to start but my cousin swears by it. I think you could ease my anxiety! Thank you for your sweet smile and spirit, it lifts my day!! Warmly, Machelle Vaughn

You are so right. I started keto in 2018 at 204 pounds in a size 18 and I did have some goals but then I learned that the scale lies so I had to take that off the list. But then my goal was to be in a size 10 by July 2019 and that did not happen. So now my goal is to be attended by this July and it’s doable because I’m only one size away. Thank you for the information

I love this approach. I'm excited to give it some thought and come up with my outcomes. I love the thought of visualizing vs. some random goal.

Wonderful video Bobbi! I can see this method helping me to attain the home I want but never seem to be able to achieve. It's great for helping me maintain my weight loss but I see it helping me get "unstuck" in other areas of my life. Thank you so much for sharing!
