You need to read Quench. A book about being dehydrated and how to get quenched. A MUST read. I love the book of Romans. If I could only have one book of the Bible, it would be Romans. Love your channel. So diverse in topics.
I retired in December…was never a big fiction reader, but thought I might enjoy reading more in retirement. Some ladies at my church recommended the Mitford series. I am currently reading the third book and have truly enjoyed this series so far! (When I was watching this video today I got so excited when you mentioned this series). My husband and I will celebrate 40 years of marriage next month, and we will be staying for 3 nights in Blowing Rock, NC. We will also take a tour of the Mitford Museum in Hudson, NC. Also, I rarely read a book more than once, but The Shack was an exception. It is such a wonderful picture of the Trinity and of forgiveness ❤️
Oh...I envy you right now reading those for the first time. I wish I could read them again for the first time. Enjoy! Congratulations on 40 years, we just pasted 30. I didn't know there was a museum...that's going on my list of places to visit. Thanks Laura!
Looking forward to these books! Reading is not a big thing for me but I habit I want to develop - these sound perfect. Now which one to start with!! All sound so applicable. Thanks#
I LOVE MITFORD!!! I have read most of them but every year, just about, I have to listen to the entire series on audio ( R and B Digital has the first seven I think) through my library and listen on my phone. The narrator is John McDonough. Superb he does all the voices!! Emma Newland, Miss Sadie, Uncle Billy, Louella, Dooley of course Father Tim and Cynthia. Gotta try them if you can!!
I stumbled upon your channel (it was the stocking stuffers video from last year) and loved it. Been watching your other videos and enjoying them so much! Love your personality
Favorite book is The Hiding Place, by Corrie ten Boom. I've read it many times and now I'm reading it to my 16yo daughter and 14yo son. It's about her family hiding Jews during WW2. Highly recommend.
Bobbie, I know this is as 2 years ago and you may not see this, but I have to tell you that I read The Traveler’s Gift after watching this video Friday. It, and The Noticer, had so many things in them that I need to “hear”. Thank you for sharing this. I need to read it/them every day for awhile until I can memorize the steps I need to take to get out of this funk I am in of unworthiness and being unloved/unliked. I have so much to be thankful for but I need a new perspective and a new attitude.
Oh Bobbie, you are describing my experience of prayer time. It is so frustrating and sometimes I just feel like giving up. At 75 you would think I would know how to still my mind for prayer but I have always struggled with this. Anyway, I will check out your recommendations because they all sound wonderful. Thank you♡
In yoga meditation I learned the same concept of what your author calls "bouncing brain". The main thing is to not become judgemental or frustrated with yourself. Just notice your thoughts have wandered, then gently bring your mind back. Like a muscle, the more you practice returning to the present, the stronger your mental discipline becomes. This is the essence of mindfulness.
Oh Sweet Bobby!!!! I'm laughing so hard with the praying example. Thank you for sharing this story. We must be sisters. You are not alone! Precious sister. Busy girls have a lot to get done. It's how we process. The books sound great! Mitford series was good!!! Praying for you & yours, sweet girl. 💗💗💗💗
I saw a post on FB the other day and thought of this video and your prayer comment. It said: "Feel guilty falling asleep while praying? Let me ask you...How do You feel when your child falls asleep in your lap? So glad that's settled. Your Loving Heavenly Father💗💗💗💗 This brought me to tears sweet sister. Hope you can gain the same comfort I did when I read it and thought of our struggle. Love & Prayers, Sweet girl😊
Hi, Bobbie! You popped up on my feed today - stocking stuffers for adult children - I couldn’t click fast enough. Plus, you’re my age. Hallelujah! I love your content. Glad to have found you.
Bobbie - I enjoy your videos so much! I loved the Travelers gifts too! I keep the Seven Decisions from the book posted in my office @ work. I also really loved 2 other books by him The Noticer & The Noticer Returns. They are Great! The Bible holds 1st place favorite for me but Travelers gift is 2nd😊
this was a great uplifting book review. I too read the Mitford books and continue, she keeps writing a new one every so often. Another series is Elm Creek Quilters by Jennifer Chiaverini. Yes it has to do with quilting but she ties in so much history and family drama and she keeps adding new books. Love this one for sure and it got me back into quilting. I too hate when the story ends, feel like my friends are gone but then you can always go back and revisit. Thank you!
I really like your channel! You are so upbeat and always - totally honest ( I have fake plants too!) I have 2 book suggestions for you . 1) For young parents and coffee lovers, the book is “Espresso For Your Spirit, Hope and Humor for Pooped Out Parents”, by Pam Vredevelt and 2) I’ve given this one as a gift many times over the years. The book is “Gift of the Sea”, by Anne Morrow Lindbergh.
Prayer and meditation are similar. My meditation teacher says the same thing about losing focus, not harshly judging ourselves, it’s human nature to do that. Nice to hear.
Hi Bobbie, just came across this video. I will try out the travelers gift, it sound really interesting. I would recommend Dinner With A Perfect Stranger, by David Gregory. It is a small quick read but so good
Educated is non fiction. It's the true story of a woman who was raised off the grid in a religious extremist family where she was miseducated and abused. It's about how she entered the real world and learned to fit into society.
“Jesus Calling” by Sarah Young devotional is my top favorite. Have the app on my phonetoo . Very personal feeling, like He’s talking right to you♥️ For non-fiction I love Karen Kingsbury & especially her Baxter Family Series
Hi Bobby, I’m so glad I found you recently. I feel like I’ve made a new friend and I’m so happy for that. You are such an enjoyment to watch. You share so much good information. You would be a great life coach. I, too, lose my focus when I pray so I’m going to read that book. I love reading so I thank you for sharing some good ones. You’re mirror looks beautiful! I’m so grateful for you’re videos so please continue doing them.
Good morning Bobbie! Thank you for your posts. I always enjoy watching your videos. Have a fabulous Friday! God bless you and yours!! Love to see something on preparing for Thanksgiving Dinner as well as Christmas preparations ... trees, decor, music, church, events coming up, crafts ....
Hi Bobbie, I'm a new subscriber! So thankful that you popped up on my feed!! Love your content! I actually finished the most life changing book I've ever read a couple of weeks ago. It's about ten years old. Sun Stand Still by Steven Furtick. I am buying several as Christmas gifts. I can't stop talking about it! My daughter has heard me talk about it so much, she's going to read it during her midterm break from college! Wonderful book! And now...…...I'm ordering A Praying Life. (I too am a bouncer!!!) Thanks so much!
I read the Little House on the Prairie series of books 41 yrs. ago when I was preg. with our daughter. I recently wanted to reread them but one day on You Tube I found audio books of the series. I am now knitting while listening to the series. It is so fun to have someone else read to me.
Thanks for sharing your life with us, Bobbie! I loved all Corrie ten Boom's books, and more recently I highly recommend these 3: --A Million Miles in a Thousand Years, by Donald Miller; how to change your life's direction --The Power of Habit, Charles Duhigg; truly life-changing --The Insanity of God, Nik Ripken; a profoundly different perspective on suffering and belonging to Christ
Omg I need that book Getting Things Done.. because I have noticed that I forget things that I need to NOT forget and it's so frustrating (and honestly, it's scary).. thank you
My favorite book is one I read over and over again...by D. Martin Lloyd Jones...called “Studies in the Sermon on the Mount.” It’s LIFE CHANGING. It’s also long - in 2 volumes - but so worth reading. Thank you so much for your videos, Bobbie, you are filled with the joy of the Holy Spirit...it shows.
Two books that changed my life..Captivating by John and Stasi Eldredge. I finally understood who I am to God..how much he loves me..and who he wants to be to me. The second is Redeeming Love (a novel) by Francine Rivers. I love anything by Francine Rivers..This book is based on the book in the Old Testament..Hosea. She sets the story in California 1850 gold country. The characters are. Michael Hosea and a young woman Angel, who was sold into prostitution as a child. It's an unconditional, redemptive, all-consuming love story.
New to your channel. Loved your video and will add a couple of these books to my Christmas wish list! Bible is #1, but loved The Nightingale by Kritsin Hannah. Will subscribe to your channel!
Hi Bobbe_ I’m so glad you mentioned about saying your prayers that’s me! I always get sidetracked or fall asleep! Lol! I thought I might be getting early dementia when I couldn’t focus, you made me feel better! Thank you for sharing , will check those books out! Hope you and your family have a lovely weekend 😊
Recommend reading the biography-memoir 'Life is so Good - by George Dawson & Richard Glaubman. It's a feel good book and provides boundless life lessons - promise you'll ♥ it. The Celestine Prophecy was so inspiring I’m Catholic but I don’t agree with everything the church professes. But it really touched my heart and soul. Love Homegood’s
Oh I have so many books that I love but currently I’m focusing on a women’s devotional hat I absolutely LOVE ❤️ 💕 Its called “Daughter, Where is your crown?” By Kathy Farley. It follows Proverbs 31 and the book of Ruth. Very very good book! Also enjoyed The Happiness Project.

“Mans search for Meaning” by: Viktor Frankl, a neurologist, psychiatrist and Holocaust survivalist....GREAT wisdom found with suffering
Thank you for the recommendation.
I had my husband watch your prayer example and told him that is what I pray like.
Good idea - was he surprised by this?
Well he is a preacher and a prayer warrior and assumes everyone can pray like him. That’s why God gave him me, to see the real world.
Everything Andy Andrews is amazing!
Lovely video ☺️
Your mirror looks great
Hi Bobbie, love your videos. You have helped me so much in my weight loss journey. I'll be forever grateful for the inspiration to do this. The book that literally changed my life and taught me to be a kinder person is The Framework for Understanding Poverty by Ruby Payne.
