@SpiraeaHerbs I am so sorry about the delay in responding to your request. My computer was hacked and I am now learning an entire new operating system. When I am able to access my recipe for the magnesium salve, I will post it here on your channel. I do know that I did start with the flakes but also a few other items and some essential oils. Again, I apologize for the delay and hope everything is grand in your slice of this beautiful planet.

@@SpiraeaHerbs I was finally able to get back on my computer, so here is the long awaited Magnesium Salve recipe:
      1/2c. Magnesium Flakes
1 to 2 TBSP Menthol Crystals
      2 TBSP Hot Water
      1/4 c. Shea Butter
      1/8 c. Coconut oil
      1/8 c. Grapeseed oil
      10 drops Jojoba oil
      1/8 c. Bees Wax
Essential oils (Lavender, Clary Sage, Camphor, Cedarwood)
      Instructions:
In a small glass bowl, or jar, combine the Magnesium flakes, Menthol crystals and water and dissolve.
To a jar, add Shea butter, Coconut oil, Bees wax and Grapeseed oil.
Place the jar in a pot on top of a cloth and add enough water to come 1/2 way up the jar.
Heat on low until the bees wax liquifies then remove the jar from the pot of water.
Add the essential oils to the dissoved Magnesium and Menthol crystals.
Very slowly add the Magnesium solution to the melted Bees wax solution while whipping with an immersion blender.
Pour into containers (I use old Altoids containers) and allow to set. I store this wonderul salve in the refridgerator.

He is so adorable and so smart! I love this recipe. I am just starting with my herbal medicinal journey and I am loving it. I have made lots of tinctures lately and oils. I did not know about this one. I have already made a Lavender oil and tincture. I love Lavender.
I have legs cramps and just nervous leg syndrome at night along with bad sleep, this would be wonderful. I was wanting g to make an herbal remedy for my brother in law who has leg cramps and soe sciatica issues. I am making a tincture right now for Sciatica and Reumatic pain. Its chamomile tincture.
Any how I love your vlogs and I've learned alot from you. You helped me with the eldeberry syrup I made , I made a mistake and did not add enough water so it was concentrated. Well I did make some ice cubes with it and it works wonderfully. Last a long time also. I did can some.
I have gotten alot of recipes from the Long Lost herbal remedy book and from the Encyclopedia of Herbal medicine. I watched your new vlog and was listening about the alcohol strength. I noticed most recipes were 1 to 2 parts herb and 4 parts alcohol. Or depends on herb your using. I really want to use what God has put on this earth for us then use so much pharmaceutical meds. Im done with the pharma bull.
I've been a naturalist for many years but these last few ive gotten deeper into natural healing herbs than modern medicine. So I am following my passion in healing my body and helping my family be healthy.
I would love to get your new tincture book. I think you talked about that in your new vlog today. Anyhow thank you for all your help, and your son is so sweet.

    • @SpiraeaHerbs
      @SpiraeaHerbs  Год назад

Yes there is also an old piece of herbal knowledge that circulates around, varying alcohol percentages based on the herbs that you are processing. Some folks still choose to process their tinctures that way. Personally, I do not have the time to create a specific menstruum for each individual herb that I am working with, so I just use a universal one and I have had great results. To each their own I guess.
The tincture guide can be found here: www.spiraeaherbs.ca/8aa93cc0-9d98c44a

Hmmm I feel like the coconut water would lack the qualities of a shelf stable product that I would like to see. I would need to be refrigerated and would only last as long as the expiry date of the water.... and this is just me guessing. So it would be an experiment! I have personally never done it.
