What I did in my first play: Build lots of HP, no mana, lots of movement speed (because I realised how much walking and running this game is) and went for a trapper melee fighter. Whenever I see dangerous fight I might loose, I'd put a lot of traps on the ground and then when fight go bad, i'd retreat over them and watch enemies get blown up, stabbed, ect. 10/10 times would do this again. But I have to say the electro mage build i done next was very awesome, too! :)
Game REALLY needs ambient sound. Visually, the world is beautiful but in every game that boasts atmosphere and exploration, it's the sound you hear in the world that elevates it. Rustling of leaves, crashing of waves along the shore, chirping birds, howls in the night, rumbling machinery, etc. I don't know if the engine's limitations is what's holding it back but the world is missing half of its identity.
That's a really interesting point actually! I haven't played this game, but I remember playing Two Worlds (by all accounts, at its _absolute best_ a mediocre rpg) a lot and I think its surprisingly engrossing ambient-noise soundtracks are the main reason I was able to play it for as long as I did. It was that sound track that made the world feel so strangely alive despite the gameplay and other parts of the game not contributing much too it.
The game is visually amazing, but a barely half finished mess. Uninspired combat, the worst AI ever created, empty walking simulator, etc. It could have been so much more.

even without the bag combat is objectively kinda terrible. unless you STACK food buffs you run out of stamina near instantly. That and as it regens when you block/roll/run you end up losing too much stam so you cant even attack
Well, there are backpacks that let you roll normally, but it doesn't prevent combat from being clunky. Most skills aren't instant and don't have anything that lets you speed them up, the poise system doesn't make much sense, enemies have unlimited mana/stamina and there's no parry, and blocking doesn't stagger enemies at all.. so combat is pretty much the weakest point of this game imo. Yet, I still really enjoy it..
@@kinsgaming8197 LMAO, not even. I never used food buffs in the game at all. you just cant spam attack. If you spam attack without thinking you will waste a lot of stam.
I picked this game up half a year ago with every intention of getting some good time in. I followed it for a bit before it released on PS4. But Alas, working 6 days a week doesnt leave much time for a game like this. I still work 6 days a week but my hours have been pushed to exlusively 9-5's with the current state of things. Found a buddy to play this with every day after work and it's been one of the first games in a long time i think about playing while im at work. It feels like a love letter to gamers that used to love old school RPG's that don't hold your hand like Morrowind. My favourite part is the fact that if you do not listen to what NPC's tell you, you will get lost. I LOVE that there's no player cursor on the map. And i LOVE the limited builds, it gives replayability and you have to give 10 people props for making a game like this. There could defintely be improvements. Combat needs to be crisper, story needs more depth, although the layouts were beautiful, they felt a little empty at times and there definitely needs to be more foliage variety (compare dragon age 1 to DA: Inquisition), more sound FX and more ambience. More voice clips for vendors and NPCs. But this is high demand for such a small group. If you can pick up this game. Do it. The support of these kind of games and studios is worth the money.
@Calvin Schuster i think you missed the game dude. Nor did i say this game was anywhere near morrowind. I just said it didnt hold your hand, like morrowind. Also 54 people made Morrowind under heavy crunch. 10 people made this game over years. This game isn't for everyone, but i for one support games that are clearly products of love.
@@RandomlnternetGuy I really want to play this game, it just reminds me so much of sword art online, it looks like the kind of game you would expect to be a MMO imo, it doesn't look conventional like most RPG's having a defined style /astetic like Skyrim or final fantasy, it's amazing to consider the fact that 10 people built this entire game by themselves and the attention to detail, I haven't any play through's but from the clips I've seen from videos like this, it looks like a world waiting to be explored, hopefully they make and outward 2 judging from what people say there's alot they could improve on in another instalment, this game would actually be a perfect IP for Sony to by for the PS5 with it's tempest engine (dedicated sound hardware), with funding this could be a very good exclusive. Some comments mention paid DLC and how it feels like a money grab and that's one thing I don't like is greedy companies, but maybe there just hating.
I've been playing this game sense it came out a year ago and literally discovered the 'special' attack and the attack combos YESTERDAY. I have loved the game but just assumed I was terrible at it; turns out, I'm just stupid. Haha!
I love the feel of a long journey and setting up shop to rest at certain areas. catch some fish by the river, fill my water, cook the fish boil the water, and call it a day. It makes it feel like a real journey instead of just getting from point A to point B
If at any point you find yourself in Canada on the Atlantic coast at any time of year, simply attempt to harvest some seaweed by hand. You will quickly realize that upon emerging from the ocean your balls are now capable of dealing ice damage!
Crazy how it took a year to get someone to make a video on the game who seems like they actually played it rather than just using debug mode to give themselves gear and skills to make "build videos" or "Beginner tips" that are just the same handful of things in the starting town. I've got 60hours or so in the game, bought it on launch but other than dicking around and exploring never really felt like I "got it". Playing it again now thanks to the quarantine, your opinions have inspired me to just truck through it and keep exploring and experiencing the game world. It gives me that same sense of wonder Morrowind did as a kid, although I cant help but keep wishing it had some sort of xp progression to make exploring and fighting mobs feel more worth it especially when it's so easy comparatively to make money just sitting in the town making potions and food. Anyway, great review.
really good and fair review. plus this is probably the best beginners guide on youtube. i wish you did this a year ago before i died a million times in the beginning. good job bro. definitely recommend for new players or people on the fence.
I want to say that when you said you got kidnapped by those people in that dungeon place where you jumped down a hole. There is a room where your stuff was! All you really have to go do is talk to the gaurds and open the gates where the gaurds are where you can "help out" the nurse and cook. But theres a room down on the right and all your things are in a chest!
@@Jahnaes.Artistry I figured this out later, but i THINK if you choose to jump down the hole you lose stuff permanently, i could be wrong though i never tested it
100% based on that opening comment you live in some shit part of America. Every time someone just needlessly rip into Canada like that they're just mad about health care or president or how heavy it is to wear a bullet proof vest to school. Way to spoil pretty mid to late game content in the first 2 mins too! Its the reason for my dislike and not because where you're from. You can't be blamed for that.
The part about them using burning men to boil and purify the water of the swamp is actually a really cool piece of world building. I really love when video games don't hold your hand and give you everything through exposition. I understand why most games do have exposition - but I am so tired of just everything everywhere always being explained. It's like in movies like Big Trouble in Little China - the first third of that movie where you have Jack Burton stumbling around and just being tossed into situations with minimal explanation about the wide scheme at play is arguably the best part of the movie - it allows you to use imagination to really fill in the gaps. Then, when they get to the restaurant and explain everything, the movie kind of takes a dive for me. The same with the sequels for John Wick - John Wick 1 was great! Minimal exposition, just that John Wick is a scary motherfucker coming for vengeance in a world of Assassins. Then the second movie decides to take the time and explain to me everything about the world. I don't need that shit explained - you have an Assassin hotel and there is some sort of giant regulatory body - I don't need the small details given through exposition. I can understand it by piecing the information together. I went a rant but whatever. Maybe I'll make a video about exposition one day. I just want for games and movies to just be able to make something without the need to explain every single thing to me. The imagination is always greater than the reveal - just give me the bare minimum and allow me to do the rest. I mean, just a thing like - circling back - stumbling across the burning men in the facility, without explicitly stating their purpose through exposition, you are able to piece it together. That's what we need because, as you pointed out: video games are a visual medium. Great video though, broski! Keep up the good work!
Hello! saw this on the steam forums, I was only gonna watch 5mins or so to see if it was worth buying but I ended up enjoying the video so much I watched all 32mins of it Lol
Currently playing through this game after a long break. I love the atmosphere and world design. The survival mechanics can be annoying at times but they work in context with the game. The ritualistic magic system is amazing, encouraging players to combine spells and experiment is genius. I look forward to more rpg that utilise a similar system. I play a mace user/ runic mage build. Also i adore the weekly map/chest refresh mechanic aswell as the dynamic defeat scenarios. This game is a hidden gem i tell you Good video as always

This video made me buy Outward. Thank you for a good review, as I’ll come back and edit this whenever I have some hours under my belt, to share some thoughts. Best sentence in 2020. “Gun.”
I’ve decided to put this in a reply instead. In my opinion, Outward is addicting to me. I agree that all of the traveling can be tiresome, especially when you already cleared the region. I haven’t played through every story path, but the story hasn’t been a great sink into me, but some of the misc characters are actually interesting. Like a talking skull that has the power to unlock the room. Now, since I haven’t found a talking skeleton, it was pretty cool. The fetch part was kinda dumb, because the bones aren’t able to be picked up before hand, but I understand since the player character doesn’t know that they are wanted. Traps are interesting to use, but can be so powerful if stacked to completely kill a boss or weaken them a lot. For the Light Mender, I could have been one shot by his shotgun-esk spear swipe, but I got him down to a single hit with tons of traps. I really enjoyed that fight, due to the room, his appearance, and his combat style. Outward, which kinda sucks when you first start, likes to tell you you’re an average Joe. You’re not anything, but must become something. I love that, because most rpgs tell you that you have some special thing. You have 1 choice that’s forced on you, pay the fine or lose your house. I love that, the difficulty being set through the game, and able to be ramped up or decreased with your knowledge and setup. You could even decide you’re skilled enough to beat the game with just fists. It’ll take forever, but it is possible with skill. I have found a bug that sometimes makes you attack, even without your weapon out which has gotten me killed, hopefully it’ll be fixed. But while we’re all stuck inside, I would recommend this. I highly suggest you do, if you have a sibling or someone else to play with in split screen. My sister and I have had a blast, her being a spell caster/ranged unit and me an all round tank with a shield. In the end, I love this game. And it’s not for everyone, it’s for people who likes some dynamic events and challenge that lowers with skill and knowledge.
@@mellowdarkness3344 Personally traveling in this game has a skill ceiling that you need to understand, with proper equipment, potions etc. I can easily travel from Chersonese to the Abrassar desert in around 20 minutes, same with combat I saw that a lot of people compare it to games like dark souls but in Outward there are mostly 2 outcomes when fighting, either you wreck your enemy or the enemy wrecks you, it's all about preparations for the fight not about the actual fight to be simple. You can also try hitting and running but you know how that ends most of the time.
dude thank you for doing all these reviews! I remember seeing a little bit about Outward before it came out, but it completely fell off my radar. Glad you put it back where it belongs!
When i saw this game i was amazed, because its so clunky, that it really feels like the developers where really begginers into this game making think, and yet, they made this whole, amazing, kinda of immersive world very well put toguether, of course its not like Triple A games like the AC franchise and shit, but its immersive just by being really oppressive to the player, i really was feared by things like bandits which should be an starting enemy
Thank you, I bought this game cause of this review! Loving it so far, but also, it feels weirdly gratifying to, in the middle of battle, dropping my bag and it's weight to fight an enemy, it adds some like, rough and tumble feeling to it, I don't know how long that will be viable, but it struck me as a thing that came naturally, just, rolling, dropping the bag, taking my weapon out to fight whatever was chasing me.
This might sound weird, but I was drawn to your channel through the "RUclips recommends" system, however the thing that made me click your video was the thumbnail image. Gotta give props to the artist since he/she did a great job! Anyway, I've binge-watched all your reviews and can't wait for the next one. Cheers! :)
It was a fun concept ruined by busy work. Should we have a system where your character has to sleep in real time? Use the bathroom? When even someone defending it is calling it a walking simulator you know you are in trouble.
I've been meaning to try this game again. I played a few hours but quickly realized it's the kind of game id need to put aside at least 100 hrs for. Great video, I'm surprised you don't have more subs. I subbed though and look forward to checking out your other videos
I have never written a comment in my life. not one of those people. i also have never watched a 30 minute review of a game all the way through without skipping ahead or just leaving it on for background noise till something caught my interest. i just have to say... Holy crap well done. Love the game and appreciate the attention to detail this video displayed. I felt truly genuinely moved. Lol
This is the first video I've seen of yours thanks to the algorithm XD. You had me after the first 30 seconds. You're genuinely funny. Keep it up! Subbed
Update from the future: The Soroborean dlc adds an expensive fast travel to the game that does cost a decent amount of rations as well as 200 silver and it's not point and click fast travel, the Soroborean merchant in each town or in each area has a random place they'll be going to, you can either hitch a ride with them to wherever it is they're going or be stuck hoofing it, so it does add an extra layer to the game, it leads to some in depth thought on whether it's faster to take the trip to Monsoon and go to Berg from there or if it's better to just walk through Cheronese etc.
"But it doesn't matter--" Yes, it does. Because if it had all that freedom and actually played amazingly well, it would be a massively better game. A game feeling good to play always matters.
I started the game by making some money from selling potions and was able to craft 2 obsidian pistols before even leaving the first town. Then I tought I would also test traps and after that not a single enemy has touched me.
Online co op is fine, you character keeps progress and equipment, just not story progress. So you have to choose which of your worlds you will progress first.
ProbablyJacob: "I cast Discipline, Rage, Warmth, Fire Infusion which consumes my Warmth Buff, then I cast Spell Sigil, Fire run which causes me to get immolation instead which damages me... then I use the most powerful spell..." Me: [Nodding in agreement] ProbablyJacob: "... gun ..." Me: HOLD ON!
My build involved a unique ice mace with a unique fire pistol as off hand. On my switch I had the poison bow with piercing shot. Poison + fire dots would meld anything and with my mace I would shred them to pieces, even through their block. On bosses or much bigger foes I would place animal teeth traps that inflict major bleed on top of my dots. This game is simply amazing. I had so much fun exploring and finding new things. I cant even tell what the story was about, I actually forgot already but the combat and exploration is addicting.
Excellent work, as always. Please, keep it up. Found you during your Cubeworld review, checked out your backlog. You rock; you're entertaining and informative.
The trend of a new Jacob video when I am just sitting down for something to eat continues! Today it's leftover quiche and scampi. Another awesome review man, thanks so much!
Outward is one of the best RPGs I have ever played, it's combat it clunky but you get used to it as long as you stop locking on for melee combat. This game IS the journey, you take long treks coming out with bags filled to the brim and your character hunched over exhausted. This game is hard but rewarding, don't give up after the first few hours.
As a huge Outward fan, this is probably the best review I've ever seen. "And then I use my offhand weapon to cast the most powerful spell in the game: Gun." "There's also Chakrams... I don't even know what these do..." "You will be walking more than The Proclaimers" "The Desert is a desert" Also showing off my absolute favorite weapon in the game when mentioning artifact weapons. 21:34 One criticism is that when you were talking about the statues in the desert and the quality of assets, you didn't clip to one of the statues in Levant that have great ASSets...
I challenged myself to play through this game only in hardcore mode. It really added a lot of excitement to my playthrough, where every encounter poses a risk.
I really enjoy this game, it feels like a classic RPG that is just fun and relaxing, and i would highly recommend it, But i do have a few issues with the game 1. Cant teleport between main cities I feel like this could be implemented easily by just charging the player a small fee and maybe a really big fee to set up the teleport system in each city. 2. Breakpoints They don't really explain how breakpoints work and that they are permanent and unobtainable. I'd recommend a warning like when channelling mana, or to at least allow you to respec your character after drinking a potion or something. 3. Chakrams This class is really cool and fun to use, but it's pretty useless. It is a very underutilized class and id like to see more spells added to it other than the 3 generic ones there. 4. Co-op progression I think this game would benefit hugely from having a borderlands style progression when having someone join your world, and if the player you have joined is in a different faction then you just don't progress in the main story. 5. Gear The gear in this game is awesome, i just wish that the 'level' of gear you got was more determined by how far along in the story you are and what region you are in, i feel like i was 25% in the game and i happened to get the best possible gear for my character. Would love to see different versions of the same gear like a 'masterwork axe' instead of a regular axe, would at least give players something to grind for that can only be accessed in the late game.
Philosopher/rune mage/hunter(or mercenarcy) helped me to make everything this games challenges you to do, and running fucking fast in the process. Bird mask/master trader top/master trader boots for running and using arrows, and then gold lich mask/sage robes/master trader boots to rune the heck out of enemies. Preferably from the elatt faction to easy get cost reduction. The thing i love most from this game is making builds, and even more whit utility being so much needed.
"Oh god video's cancelled" I bought this game but because of the night in game i couldn't see far even with a torch this game is a bit more realistic than any elder scrolls. So i asked for a refund i know i regret now. You talk about it and that makes me want to rebuy it >< Also that keyblade with fire is so awesome
I used this review to see if I wanted it and Im currently 20 hours in and have just been fucking around the world doing stuff with my friend, one of the best games I've played this year.
I love this game because it is the first game in many, many years that actually made me break out a piece of paper and a pencil and draw out the layout as I explored. Whens the last time you felt pressured to do anything like that?
We started this game with a buddy of mine a couple of weeks ago, your review perfectly captures the feeling we have of the game We create our own goals and adventure, we are 40h in and didn't even took a glance at those main quests Finding some rare weapons and new armor is really fun Acquiring mana to get access to spells felt like an adventure and a true reward Great video keep it up :)
5:20 - The most and only important choice you make is which faction to join. 6:09 - Pick whichever sounds good to you. It doesn't really matter. Ok. Jacob.
Um. The legacy chest is a great idea. If a game would make this idea of playing a series of characters required to achieve the main quest, it would be really good. Defeating the evil warlock oppressing the world means that one or two characters have to sacrifice themselves, or it just takes a long time to stop part of the evil, or the evil is manifest in different time periods, etc. So long as the game world changed enough to make the flow of time convincing, the replay-ability become simply part of the game itself (ie Zelda: quest one unlocks quest two)
Thanks for this, it’s what sold me. A good honest opinion on the game and addressing what others have mentioned as gripes. It is also thoughtfully broken down and organized in a constructed manner. Earned my sub, thanks again.
@Theodor Hanje You said it best my man, I also share your view that it is a great review we have here - thanks for the upload friend but the issues ProbablyJacob has with the game are indeed intentional, fast travel - nope, exploring and walking about - yes, yes, yes - it is even in the tag line "No remarkable journey is achieved without great effort." I recently watched a live stream with the CEO - he basically answered most of the issues brought up here and I am paraphrasing but - the gist was - "We wanted to target a specific audience, more of a niche part of RPG enthusiasts. Yes, a position of the map for example was discussed and eventually scrapped as it did not make sense in the context of the game. They wanted to provide an experience which they knew, people may not take a liking to 100 % or even at all but this did not stop them to create their vision and not compromise
The character creator needs an overhaul, and there needs to be a fast travel between cities which costs a lot to use. Having played over 100 hours, I can also say that the economy needs a revamp. You can break it far too easily before even leaving Cierzo. I also haven't tried using the chakram playstyle but hear its not too good in current game. Hopefully with the dlc it receives a revamp or addition to its abilities. The update video recently released by the studio showed some gameplay of it which I'm interested in. Last thing: The game is on geforce now, so if you have the game on steam but hardware is an issue, you can use your phone or old laptop and hook a couple controllers up and have an almost seamless experience. Couch co-op being streamable on steam also allows friends far away to play the game without even owning it. It even works with geforce now, so both players can have streaming latency.
As a french canadian, I believe I may have your answer regarding seaweed! I know that seaweed is sometimes used in the process of making ice cream (as like, a thickening agent). And I'm pretty sure that this was a popular factoid in quebec at one point, because I have known that random-ass bit of trivia for a long time. Maybe it was a funny bit of trivia that made the rounds sometimes in the 90s after someone mentioned it on TV or something. I would guess one of the devs remembered this and decided that was a good enough rationale to use that item, if it also had the right rarity and spawn location to fit their design for when you should have access to ice damage.
Rune Magic was my jam, from what I remember it was great for a magic melee build since you could just load up the buffs not to mention give yourself a magic light so you didn't need to hold a torch in all the pitch black dungeons/caves. Honestly, Watching this video makes me really want to go back and play again, but i'm holding off till the DLC drops and adds the 4th faction. given that the pre-patch type update for the dlc dropped in the last week its shouldn't be too much longer.
Glad I stumbled upon this review for two reasons. One, I have this game, played it a few hours as well but put it down (can't say why exactly) so I'd need to restart it from scratch and this is a good reminder to do so. Two - I like your style of review and you earned a new sub.
THANKYOU for the couch co-op note. Main barrier to entry for me and my girlfriend was forking out $60 each for multiplayer because we don't usually like split-screen co-op. Convinced me to buy one copy for local co-op instead.
I feel like its worth mentioning that this game was made by a studio of less than 10 people. At times you can tell it was made by a small studio. The love they put into this rpg game definitely makes it worth supporting the small studio. They also just announced DLC to be released this spring with a new area and faction. The developers said the DLC will add another 25% to the whole game. Huge update. Consider supporting this small studio who did a great job at making a classic rpg
love your humor man also your reviews are amazing i just bought this and blasphemous because of your reviews thank you!! been looking for some games like these for so long and these are hidden gems!
Just so you know, the faction you join actually REALLY matters. You gain passive buffs, weapons/armor sets, and spells. For example, I have a frost based chakram user. He's chakram, monk, and rune caster breakthroughs. He used the frost chakram with icebrand the sword. For that build the Blue Chamber Collective faction is kind of a must. You get armor that seriously buffs your frost damage. Not to mention an extra 25 mana, and 40 hp.

Anyway, great review.
eso and click4 gameplay did it soon after release
Audio and narrative quality are massively improved. You sound like you had a ton of fun on this. May give the game a shot, good stuff.
really good and fair review. plus this is probably the best beginners guide on youtube. i wish you did this a year ago before i died a million times in the beginning. good job bro. definitely recommend for new players or people on the fence.

One of the best reviews for any game I've seen. On point, informative and entertaining. Well done.
Hello! saw this on the steam forums, I was only gonna watch 5mins or so to see if it was worth buying but I ended up enjoying the video so much I watched all 32mins of it Lol
This game is a hidden gem i tell you
Good video as always
Looks like something I would have gotten really into as a 13 year old in the 90s. However my patience grows more thin every year.
Normally I don't comment on videos but I've noticed that you're not nearly as big as a RUclipsr as I thought
I've watched many of your videos since the cube world one and I really enjoy them. You have a really nice voice for this type of videos, you always have good gameplay of the game with actual relating scenes instead of just showing trailers/useless gameplay.
Rewiew wise I like how you manage to include all if the important categories for a rewiew while keeping the videos individual + your opinion always seems fair.
Please keep up the great content, I'd love the see more! If you keep up the motivation you'll have a a greater community in no time

This is the review that this game deserved. Wonderful.
As someone who has sank aroun 250 hours it’s worth it
@@mellowdarkness3344 Personally traveling in this game has a skill ceiling that you need to understand, with proper equipment, potions etc.
21:50 "so if you see an enemy that looks weird, it's on sight."
Sirr, you just got a new sub lmao

dude thank you for doing all these reviews! I remember seeing a little bit about Outward before it came out, but it completely fell off my radar. Glad you put it back where it belongs!
"outward has been sitting in my steam library for a few months" this made my remember the games that i bought in 2013/2014 and never played
Jacob: "and now im gonna cast stronges spell in the game. GUN"
Hostile mobs: wait, thats illegal
lol when all the forums becomes all the enemies and mobs complaing about the hacker players and brokenness of the game lol
I subbed though and look forward to checking out your other videos
putting all those pistols on your quick slots you could be that dude from AC black flag who had like 12 pistols on him
For those that want fast travel/teleport, you can do it in debug mode, beware however, teleporting to certain locations can and will f up your game.
Lol

This game is awesome in nearly everythig... except for the walking, I really got tired of that but man I really enjoyed this beauty gem for some time
jnar just do a speed build. Pearl birds have a 2% drop rate for a pearl bird mask which will increase your movement speed by a ton
There is around two builds in the game that completely remove traveling while also being viable in combat
"But it doesn't matter--"
Yes, it does.
You keep pushin' out good content.
Keep it up! :)
Online co op is fine, you character keeps progress and equipment, just not story progress. So you have to choose which of your worlds you will progress first.

Today, I’ll be playing… a video game.
Usually I don’t. Have you ever wanted to survive a Russian winter?
They could have just added a simple mount and would have made this game 10x more appealing to the general public
ProbablyJacob: "I cast Discipline, Rage, Warmth, Fire Infusion which consumes my Warmth Buff, then I cast Spell Sigil, Fire run which causes me to get immolation instead which damages me... then I use the most powerful spell..."
Me: [Nodding in agreement]
ProbablyJacob: "... gun ..."
Me: HOLD ON!
That Hobbit reference was too accurate. Who let that happen?
Excellent work, as always. Please, keep it up. Found you during your Cubeworld review, checked out your backlog. You rock; you're entertaining and informative.

I think a mount would have been a good balance
As a huge Outward fan, this is probably the best review I've ever seen.

One criticism is that when you were talking about the statues in the desert and the quality of assets, you didn't clip to one of the statues in Levant that have great ASSets...
I challenged myself to play through this game only in hardcore mode. It really added a lot of excitement to my playthrough, where every encounter poses a risk.
What's your gripe with Canadians? XD Really good video though. I appreciate honest reviews so, deffo subscribing!
I really enjoy this game, it feels like a classic RPG that is just fun and relaxing, and i would highly recommend it, But i do have a few issues with the game
1. Cant teleport between main cities
I feel like this could be implemented easily by just charging the player a small fee and maybe a really big fee to set up the teleport system in each city.
2. Breakpoints
They don't really explain how breakpoints work and that they are permanent and unobtainable. I'd recommend a warning like when channelling mana, or to at least allow you to respec your character after drinking a potion or something.
3. Chakrams
This class is really cool and fun to use, but it's pretty useless. It is a very underutilized class and id like to see more spells added to it other than the 3 generic ones there.
4. Co-op progression
I think this game would benefit hugely from having a borderlands style progression when having someone join your world, and if the player you have joined is in a different faction then you just don't progress in the main story.
5. Gear
The gear in this game is awesome, i just wish that the 'level' of gear you got was more determined by how far along in the story you are and what region you are in, i feel like i was 25% in the game and i happened to get the best possible gear for my character.
Would love to see different versions of the same gear like a 'masterwork axe' instead of a regular axe, would at least give players something to grind for that can only be accessed in the late game.
"Adaption". Is actually AdapTATion"
"Oh god video's cancelled"
I bought this game but because of the night in game i couldn't see far even with a torch this game is a bit more realistic than any elder scrolls. So i asked for a refund i know i regret now.
You talk about it and that makes me want to rebuy it ><
Also that keyblade with fire is so awesome
Oh, bright nights are your fault huh
I used this review to see if I wanted it and Im currently 20 hours in and have just been fucking around the world doing stuff with my friend, one of the best games I've played this year.
I love this game because it is the first game in many, many years that actually made me break out a piece of paper and a pencil and draw out the layout as I explored.

I started playing Outward....but then I chose life.
Love this game dropped about 30 hrs or more. Played with a friend. Its amazing I had a 2h war n bow. So much fun. 10 out of 10 for me.
So long as the game world changed enough to make the flow of time convincing, the replay-ability become simply part of the game itself (ie Zelda: quest one unlocks quest two)
"Big knight out with the girls." 31:06
The perfect pun.
I loved Outward. Just hearing the music again makes me want to play it.
Chersonese is so incredibly beautiful. Perfect adventure theme.
The first thought my Lizard brain thought when you keep panning over to Shipwreck friend was.
"Hat...give hat."
The soundtrack is one of the best i've ever heard. Highly recommend a listen.
Without the music, the swamp would be a disaster trip every time
I feel like its worth mentioning that this game was made by a studio of less than 10 people.
You are the best youtuber I have found to binge watch. Keep up the good work 👌
I absolutely loved the magic system, reminded me of the ultima system of rune combinations
love your humor man also your reviews are amazing i just bought this and blasphemous because of your reviews thank you!! been looking for some games like these for so long and these are hidden gems!
