Awesome vid Brah! Lately I haven't been so lucky with PUGing dungeons and it all boils down to dungeon etiquette and people not fulfilling their roles. Yesterday I had a tank who didn't taunt and didn't want to go over mechanics when DPS asked and today had a tank who told me (healer) not to heal the DPS so they can learn a lesson if they die lol. I main tank and I'm usually patient and willing to explain things to newer players, so I wonder if I've just been unlucky with rood tanks lately.
I am a tank like that, a patient player trieing to explain stuff to players. I just cant understand how ppl can play mmos and still dont have the patience to deal with alot of Different type of parties
I agree with almost everything you've said, Adam, except the blaming part. Everyone, you should and must always blame the healer, and in Bran's case you should always blame him regardless of his role. Bran is our cherished community member who goes by the name ATrueBeta in discord. With that out, awesome video Adam, well scripted and nicely explained stuff. Appreciate this a lot.
A tip for the new update. Flames of ambition live now on PC March 16 on console. Ice Staves no longer pull agro. So now it is ok to run an Ice staff as DPS. And for tanks be aware as your heavy ice staff attack will no longer agro enemies.
i’m trying to transition from WoW to ESO so this video was very helpful in giving me the lay of the land :-) i wouldn’t call myself an MMO expert or anything like that but i’m glad my experience in WoW dungeons helps me understand some of the stuff here. thank you and keep up the videos!
I did my second dungeon today because was told to do the dailys as a dps and i'm under cp160 and i died on the first boss and my team kicked me out :]. But yesterday was a breeze that was fun

Glad I watched this.....My brother and I have been playing and we are total noobs to MMOs. My brother plays as a tank and I play as a DPS. We played with 2 Randoms....and they kept trying to vote to have us both removed and eventually they left us to die and kept calling us fake tanks and fake DPS....I couldn't understand why....I have a little better sense now...Thanks for the tips. They were still A-holes with the trash talk but I can understand it a little better now.
My first experience in a dungeon today was the two highest leveled (I assume) players b-lined for the ending, and continued even though two of us got lost. It felt like a SWTOR dungeon experience but without sticking with the group lmao. Easiest 2 levels I ever got.
Hi Adam, great video. I had no idea how to do a group dungeon. I tried one a week ago and got booted out and had no idea why. I have been playing this for a month. I love it and am interested in finding people to do dungeons with and need to learn how to get better at it. Are there people in your guild that are patient and can work with an old guy like me? I have your channel bookmarked and will be watching for sure. Thanks Richard.
Pro tip: if on console turn on your Group chat, even if you dont have a mic you can still hear what others are calling out or even trying to explain fight mechanics, no one wants to type out mechanics on console
The biggest problem I'm having is tanks running the dungeon like it's a race to the end so I end up getting left behind and being killed because the tank didn't give a big Harry crap about it.
as a new player to eso 2 days now as a healer this help alot, still learning the whole game , dont know much about the game. coming from gw2 and neverwinter . i love both games but my interest wearing out because i play them for many years nowl. looking for new chapter i guess. eso is very confusing to me. this fighting battle style is very different from gw2 and neverwintter is something i have to get use to.
If you play healer would it be possible to get gameplay commentary on either dungeon or trial since I have found 0 content like that. Why and what you do, what determines what skills you pick and why? Would like to be a healer but there is 0 actual learn to heal content and its just build videos which makes it a bit hard to jump In as the person responsible for the whole group. Great vid keep them coming
For dungeons: put regeneration on your bar. That’s it. Most dungeons require little or no healing. Some DLC dungeons might take more, but for the part you can just be running a full DPS setup to make the run as fast as possible. If you need more healing, consider Combat Prayer and Mystic Orb. In trials, you’ll have a more focused role which will be reflected in the sets you wear and the skills you bring. Something to keep in mind is that healing output is almost never the limiting factor. The healing required in many situations is very low, so your sets and skills should be primarily focused on increasing your group’s damage. In most organized and difficult content you’ll want to coordinate who is bringing what buffs and debuffs so you can cover as many different ones as possible. As for healing itself: people take damage, cast a heal over time like Regeneration or Illustrious Healing. If people need healing more immediately, use a burst heal like Combat Prayer or your class specific burst heal. Either way, your main focus should be on keeping your buffs and debuffs up to provide the most total damage output for the group. In dungeons, you can and should be slotting some DPS skills and running more aggressive and DPS focused sets.
I’m on PS4 and only tried dungeon once. I don’t even know what role means and what I should be doing with that role. I jumped in getting myself stuck in the wall. Felt like I didn’t help anyone then I get loot and didn’t know I need to stick around to trade. It just felt overwhelming. I haven’t headed back since.
Is it ok as dps to chuck in an aoe heal now and then esp. if it looks like the healer is struggling? Or does it piss off the healer? Edit: The heal is just on my bar for solo stuff, questing etc.
Only been playing for less than a week. Just hit lvl 20 and not ventured to any dungeons yet, was going to give it a go but actually looks like no fun :-( too many rules and procedures/expectancies from what you just explained. Think I will just continue to explore the land and continue to go on quests/story lines, been fun so far with just random pairing with players on the odd quest in dungeons for harder bosses...

Hey OP + other helpful people. Me and 3 friends are struggling to find enjoyment from the game currently, we are between Lv15-20 and have tried out 5 dungeons now (even manually trying the crucible when we haven't unlocked it yet) and its just way too easy. I heard ESO is now scaled so my question is. What the fuck can we do for a challenge in the leveling process? Can we do the veteran stuff without being a certain level? are there dungeons which are harder regardless of scaling? The game is so easy as a 4 man that it's not even fun, we don't even really need a healer. Our healer could probably afk the whole thing and we'd still get it done. I feel like theyve completely fucked the balancing and there's no real danger, which takes so much fun away from the game. Thanks guys, I'm really hoping someone can give me some good suggestions.
