@@aiellamori every class has its role that's a given but I've done many vet dungeons with out healer and done just fine honestly tank is more useful then healer in most situations any decent DPS can avoid aoe and take out trash mobs as long as tank has agro on boss
I've been playing about 6 months now, getting the hang of roles, builds, etc. Came across this guide going into healing and this is BY FAR the best guide I've seen on it. Too many guides don't explain the WHY, and it just feels like copying people, making the while thing mechanical and boring and not something I'm interested in. I'd much much rather watch your guides, learn the actual theory behind why we do things instead of being told to do them, than anything else. So. You've gotten a subscriber of someone who really didn't want any eso stuff clogging up his youtube. Haha. Thank you again.
If you see this and trust me it definitely happens. Then you should look to ways to improve your DPS. There is nothing wrong with asking for help. You can join a guild, look for guides and videos etc. I will say that, if you have two 5 piece sets of armor meant for DPS, take appropriate potions, skills passives and enchants plus be sure to do a light attack in between each skill you will find your damage skyrocket. We all start somewhere! You got this!
Also, run ESO logs if people are throwing blame around. You can easily see if it is the healing or if they died to stupid. You can see how well people are actually healing or dpsing too.

I played WoW on and off for about 3 years. Toward the end of me playing, I randomly rolled a resto Druid, and had the most fun in that game. I played Eso for about a year back in 2016, and strictly played a nightblade, and meh.. it was alright. I just got back into ESO last week and really wanted to heal. Ran a Templar and am now CP 250. And like my resto Druid, healing with my Templar is the most fun I’ve ever had in this game. It’s all I can think about. I flipping love my Templar!!

Someone riddle me this: Why the obsession with Elemental Drain? Your tank should be applying Major Breach with Pierce Armor. You can almost always depend on your tank applying that because it's the melee taunt. Therefore, you're only gaining Minor Magickasteal. Siphon Spirit applies that plus Lifesteal; it used to be inferior due to cast time but is now instant cast and can even be placed before a fight without causing aggro, this is also frees a slot on your tank because they no longer need to run Blood Altar. Radiant Aura (Templar) applies Magickasteal to a wide area. Either of those are automatically superior.
As an endgame tank I feel this in a special way. Peirce armour is my main taunt because of the penetration debuff applied and then I see ppl using elemental drain and it annoys me to no end

Fantastic guide! Fun tip: You can drop a HoT on your tank if it's a dragonknight during add pulls so that the tank can spam chains+balance and pull the adds in super tight.
Just got the game yesterday and got it downloaded. Made a Khajiit Templar and so far I'm liking the game. Haven't gotten very far yet(only a couple hours of play before work) but plan on doing more tonight. Making a healer class.
Nice, with all the deeps guides out there I was beginning to abandon hope for a healer video. About radiating healing; I just cant find a place on my bars for it. My resto bar has combat prayer, illustrious, orbs, fungal and thicket. My destro bar is wall, ele drain, fetcher flies, netch and frost cloak. See what I mean? I'm not dropping one of those abilities, for a bland hot, just because new dps players can't stand still. The way I see it is, if you actively run away from my aoe and cone heals you're not going to get healed and buffed and that's on you. That being said I will chase the random ranged dps and cast combat prayer on them. I mean the buff is too strong for me to ignore. Either way such is life for a healer!
it does an insane amount of hps (can solo heal starfall in vHRC just with that ability) and is really good for kite healing. I tend to swap abilities in and out besides a few. If you're not having regen problems you can probably drop netch. In fights where you can't stack for healing (like vHRC starfall) it's a lifesaver. Also really good in vSO for the poison (also again, people aren't stacking)
I love tormentor at now. All pulls charges leaps are taunts. Man I just stand still and pull everything to me with silver leash or my DK chains. It's awesome
Yep, and lets my magblade tank pull with Lotus Fan, which adds Minor Vulnerability. Then Silver Leash for a ranged taunt that works better than the Undaunted Inner Fire. Of course, I have to add Breach separately vs Pierce, but Mark is free, instant, can be applied pre-engaging without aggro, has a long up-time, and personal benefits if the target dies with it on. Definitely my main set now and I mix up the other pieces depending on needs.
Yeah, the reason I spam down heals is because on my second vet dungeon as a healer I had a guy complaining that they died and it was my fault and that I wasn't a real healer (I'm new to it so i guess I'm not) I didn't run out of magicka and never stopped the buffs and heals the entire time and the blame comes my way. I now very much so appreciate the work healers do as it is constant. But, after that, I can see why people don't want to be healers or don't bother to be. The first run of the same dungeon went perfectly though, but with a less tanky tank and weaker dps, it was an issue. Sorry I can't outheal that 1 or 2 shot that happened to you...
Smart healing is a little bit confusing. How does that actually work in for a single heal, say if 2 targets are in low health but your tank has slightly more health than the other DPS, does that mean if I try to single heal a target, the healing would go to the lowest one instead of the tank, is there a Target Lock System which makes ur next healing goes directly to the tank. I mean, obviously, the tank is more important in this case. I'm used to the target system like WOW, where you can just target ur tank and cast a single heal, and that heal goes directly to the tank.
Someone please help a noob here. I struggle with these "Beginner" tutorials because they dont back up far enough, and then skip ahead too quickly. Many of these abilities, i dont even know what line they are on, because they cant be seen untill available for morph. Is it just me? Should I train only staffs? Any of the Aedric Spear, Sunfire, etc, all that crap? Can I even respec one day? Lol Im lost. Plus I play on XBOX and nearly every video is on PC versions so its set up different.
A lot of what he talked about was in the restoration staff. Just google any of the other skills he talked about and it will tell you the skill line it is in.

Scott Skinner for healing resto is really important but once you hit level 15 you can use both and switch between the two. The spears are really useful for doing damage early on as well.

Always played healing role but always got bored because most games don't give the role enough love. I havent played an mmo in a long while now and just bought gold edition eso for $19 for ps4. I'm a healer but I play way too aggressive, with a lot of aoe damage, we melt through mobs like butter. Works really well as well, but it also helps that the tank I play with is a personal friend of mine so we really know how to play well together
@@robbzooi I do AUI's minimap, quest tracker, srendar ,dark ui and lui extended. It takes a lot of configuring but if you get it set up a way you like it's nice.

The nightblade 'meta healer' doesn't do a lot of healing it's more of a support for doing the roaring opportunist max damage heavy attack. It's meta for some groups only because it can pull off the highest heavy attack damage (also, not doing a lot of healing so it's more for super coordinated groups not pugging).
Is it worth going for crit. heals? I a completely new to this and I use Mother's Sorrow + Winter's Respite (Froststaff, charged, Backbar, Markarth DLC) with Bogdan the Nightflame (aiming for Symphony of Blades). On the frontbar I would use the Master's Restostaff. Why froststaff? because I inflict frost-status and minor Brittle. The matriarch (Sorcerer) does the shockdamage (single target, no DoT) to inflict minor Vulnerability - but no Off-Balance. Why crit. heals? My matriarch has an insane 17k burst heal (crit.) and 10k non-crit. heal, so I also run my Restostaff with precise. What is your opinion on this?
I run nb healer and also uesing healing offering heal skill its strong single target healing skill with resto staff kills on main bar ! Its only healer what i use if need overland,dungeon or trials and hes work well for me 😁even im tanking focuse player
As a healer in an otherwise all stam group you'd run Hircines Veneer? Even though all of its bonuses are stam? Is the 4% cost reduction really worth hamstringing your own stats?
This might sound like a stupid question but is it okay to have two stam dps in a dungeon group? Or is it way more beneficial to have mag dps and stam dps
Just make sure you set up your bars in a way that is comfortable for you. Every one is different. Just keep your team in your view and you'll be alright

So I've been playing this game for about two months now and I want to make another healer but more stamina focused am i just giving my self a massive handicap by doing that?
I love healing, aswell as DPS, but playing on console I'm in awe with how bad the party/group UI is, and the people behind it should be fired. I mean, as a healer your job is to keep people alive, but when you have to look away from the screen to check people's HP, you don't have to be a rocket scientist in order to understand that it is bad design. Who thought that was a good idea? I don't get it. I would love to heal more, but because of this very thing I can't see myself doing it on the regular. And that's such a shame.

question about banduit ui, does that work with other ui's?
@@robbzooi I use bandits, dark ui, stendarr and the minimap of franky... I'd say bandits is very versatile.

This might sound like a stupid question but is it okay to have two stam dps in a dungeon group? Or is it way more beneficial to have mag dps and stam dps

Just make sure you set up your bars in a way that is comfortable for you. Every one is different. Just keep your team in your view and you'll be alright

Breton Templar absolutely. Super easy to get a grasp on healing and itll teach you the basics for healing with other classes/races.

I love healing, aswell as DPS, but playing on console I'm in awe with how bad the party/group UI is, and the people behind it should be fired. I mean, as a healer your job is to keep people alive, but when you have to look away from the screen to check people's HP, you don't have to be a rocket scientist in order to understand that it is bad design. Who thought that was a good idea? I don't get it. I would love to heal more, but because of this very thing I can't see myself doing it on the regular. And that's such a shame.
