- The 2020-2021 BMW 1 Series, for the first time a front-wheel drive car, maintains a 5-star rating and continues BMW’s recent string of safety successes.
Its score in adult occupant protection would have been higher were it not for its front seat narrowly missing a ‘good’ rating for Whiplash protection.
The full marks the car got for its AEB City performance were not included in the adult occupant protection score as a result.

Great but also take into account that 5 stars for a lighter car against an immovable object is not the same as a heavy car like a 7 series achieving 5 or even 4 stars in the same test.

A destroyd 1er BMW ist the best 1er BMW!
Side curtain airbags make no sense in a perfectly frontal crash. Needs improvement...
Side curtains are used for flying glass as well
@@yannispetridis5741 in a side impact, certainly not when impacting on the front of the car...it is an hazard by itself when unnecessarily deployed: fumes, loud bang and the risk of projecting something on the passengers: a mobile phone held at that height might become an axe.
