I was involved in a serious hit and run accident in which an F350 ran a light at 65mph and ran into my BMW 330i front passenger side. My 6 month and I were the only passengers. I sustained only broken ribs and a broken left arm. My son had no injuries. Thank you BMW for building a strong and safe car, my family appreciates it.
Every bmw driver activley tries to hit a pedestrians. In my town every weekend some drunk or racedriver wannabe dismantels traffic lights and kills a few people.
BMW’s safety always make me feel safer on the road. I love their prioritization of making a car so well suited for protection. The germans are really catching up if not surpassing the swedes at this point

@Caroline Liu True, it's because we have these things called bends in Europe. Also the types of road are completely different. 25% overlap crashes tend to only happen on long straight roads where teh driver loses concentration. This are rare in Europe.
You can take for sure it was tested in the factory too. My friend had the serious crash at the high speed. His car that time was 2 years old. Some engineers from the factory came to see and decide if this crash can help for development of the next generation
I have a série 7 and got involved in a crash at 210 km in the autobahn, we smashed a bus from behind and I can tell you we had nothing but a little scratch on my leg.

The radar system that stopped your speeding vehicle is not german. These gizmos and gadgets are built by independent specialists that ALL car manufacturers can buy of the shelf. Perhaps you would have been able to stop yourself, if you weren't speeding in a residential area.

For giants like BMW and similar firms.. building and crashing a car costs nothing. It’s just bits of metal for them. The cars true value is in the engineering invested in it. But on the other hand ... boutique manufacturers like koeniggsegg and pagani have to factor in these crash tests while pricing their cars.
This was just test footage and the overall verdict. From the title, I would have expected comments about how well it fared in every single of those tests.
BMW 3 series is a great car,good stability and reliability,but,it lacks a lot of interior space! older models such as E36 were very spacious,especially in the back seats,but since when the E46,it went downhill! the 5 series E61 and F10 offer the same space as the VW golf mk5 offers in the back,so,I never seem to uderstand what logic do the designers of BMW use when it comes to interior design! the same goes for Audi,if you want space,go for the the A6 and above!

Shows that you know nothing about the rating of these crash tests. Golf V stars are less worthy than 3 series stars because the car is older and from a different class.

That’s why Tesla’s autopilot for example never fails to avoid a car suddenly braking in front of you or a side collision, but will hit a large fire truck stopped on the shoulder if it’s partly on the driving lane.

As a BMW owner, I think they should run these tests at BMW asshole speed.
Where is the impact with 25% coverage? This is not being tested in Europe why? In the US, 100%, 50% and 25% are tested.
