Interior design is subjective, they have to go futuristic. New 7 series and 5 series are also a departure from old bmw styling but according to me new 5 series interior and exterior is awesome really good quality as well which is expected from BMW. Interiors are just wow in new i5 m60

I have driven my G20 330i for over 2 years and 55000 km now. I have the same opinion, that this car is the perfect compromise. The engine is so responsive - even at 1500 rpm - smooth and perfomant, although it keeps the low consumption of a 4-cylinderengine. I also think, that especially the noise insulation is great.

@@gabrielsticks2829I have one as well so I can answer with my perspective. The only fault I have with it on the highway is like many say at the top-end it could use more power and is why many just opt for an m340. I can really feel the engine working past 110mph. Though, you’re well past illegal speeds basically everywhere besides the autobahn at that point. Cabin noise insulation could also be better but this would be a 3-series wide complaint.

I drove the 330i and the M340i on the same day on a route which had mix of city and motorway. You will notice that I have not compared the 320i here mainly because the 330i and M340i are the more sportier models. Anyway, back to the comparison. I found that for daily city and motorways, the M340i definitely felt a lot heavier lacking the nimbleness of the 330i. It felt so much heavier in the front then the 330i ,that it felt like it really needed that extra power to get going. The 330i on the other hand felt so right on the money. I don't know how to put it into words. Imagine a Mazda Miata fitted with 3.0 liter engine vs the standard configuration Miata. Now you get why the 330i "feels" so quick despite having less power. I've driven 3 series since the 1990s and this G20 330i is as good a driver as it gets

I own a very well specified 2019 330i MSport shadowline in Portimao blue. This was a downsize for me back into a 3 series (my 4th, after a very long gap - I had an E30 and two E36s, all new in their day, plus some time in a company owned E46). I considered a M340i and loved the engine sound and sheer grunt, but I agree with Max that the rear-drive 330i is much closer to the 3-series I remembered with playful handling and - for road use - plenty of power. More power than any 6 cylinder model of the old cars I owned. I miss the road feel from the hydraulic steering, and the massively fat rim of the wheel doesn’t help though I’m used to it now. I’m in Australia where speed limits are low and heavily policed, so a really powerful car is a waste unless you’re going to track it. A stock 330i is easily enough on our roads and amazingly economical on long runs - I easily get under 5L/100 km at our 110 km freeway limit. I think it’s the best all round sports sedan you can buy. I continue to be delighted with mine and don’t see anything else yet that might make me want to change.

The M340i exhaust tip isn't fake. Sure it looks crap compared to the 330i, but it is oversized and has the pipe set back so it doesn't soot up.
As for the engine, never driven the B48. I did have an EA888 and while it had the power, the B58 is so much more sophisticated and nicer to drive.

I have owned my 330i G20 for over 4 years now. I think it’s a perfect compromise when the M340i is just outside your budget. Mine is fully equipped with M performance parts (bought and fitted at DeMaassche) and I fitted an Eisenmann exhaust in the first year of ownership. The exhaust sound produced by the eisenmann exhaust makes up for the lack of a 6 cilinder sound. It’s not the same, but far better than the standard exhaust note as produced by the B48. Mine also has the limited slip diff which is a must have for every sporty driver in my opinion.

I own a 230i M Sport and it is everything the M240i is without the power. Oh, and it handles a bit better without that weight up front. For the money, the B48 versions of the 2 and 3 Series are a better buy, hands down. I ain't knocking the B58 cars, they are the industries' best, and I may end up buying an M240, but only because I'm nostalgic for a 3 liter inline BMW 6 cylinder, not because it is better than a 230. And mine will be a RWD, no xDrive for me.

I believe you can. The electronic diff you’re talking about (eLSD) only works when you turn DSC off, it electronically applies the brake to the slipping wheel so the other one catches up. eLSD should not activate with a retrofit LSD because you wont be slipping just one tire.
