This is being installed in my 2019 G20 330i M Sport. This DIY would be similar for an F30 330i and most longitudinally mounted B48 or B46 powered cars.

You sir are now traveling down a dark road which I cannot follow….. until I’m out of warranty. I really hope you keep this car and daily the car so that we can see how the reliability holds up.
I plan on keeping this car for years, I bought it deliberately as I had an M340i and G80 and liked aspects of those cars but wanted good fuel economy and practicality. Most of these are just getting old enough where they are falling out of warranty.

I regret changing my airbox for a cold air intake on my n54 stage 2.5 MHD.
@@zadeh79 BMW stock intakes are able to handle 700hp, for the b58 at least.

I've got a 2019 330i with this same engine. Hmmmmmmm. I think this might be a fun project. Took me 7 days to build a Procharger setup for my Wrangler, but this looks like I could do what you did in a day because you're VERY thorough and leave nothing to question. Impressive video! Happy to do it, I think the reputation of the N20 made people right this off when it had the same power potential as some of the most iconic 4 cylinders like the SR20 or 4G63.

can’t wait for the dyno and if you can pull over 350+ hp im Definitely keeping my 22 330I. I was thing about trading it for a M340 but will see how much power can you pull without compromising reliability because I like how this car pulls just stock and saves gas better than my 2019 Camry 2.5.

I also own a 2019 G20 330xi with M sport Package. I have H&R springs and big brake kit on it. It handles awesome. If only it had more horsepower..... I have been looking forward to someone doing 400+ whp on 93 oct first. Keep posting and I would love to see the numbers after tune. Nice, yeah the handling on these cars is impressive. The power isn't lol so yeah this could be a great way to keep that balance but have decent power.

Yeah I stopped just speeding up the footage and putting music. Feels like if flows better. I was forced to edit like that for a RUclips short and realized it could be good for long form.
on a large & modern turbo set-up I installed on my 5 cyl Volvo 850 R..I was advised by the Precision Turbo guys to install a plate size fan pointed at the turbo set-up (from a Porsche 911 surge fans) to optimize cooling on demand with a heat sensor & gage and a 2 minutes timer to keep on cooling after the car is shut-off ,avoiding 'heat sink' under that hood as much as possible ,especially during summer or when stuck in traffic...a hood extractor louver above the turbo set-up is not too much either..I remember a precious advice from Chip Foose at a tuner's convention in NY..'no matter what your project is the success & reliability of your engine build is cooling & heat control'...keep that heat away from that engine bay'.....!!

But what was also mesmerizing for me was how fast the transmission was shifting.
My brother in law has a 2012 Camry with the 4 cylinder and his torque converter died at 100K miles. I'm going to help him fix it, the question is if I filmed that would anyone want to watch? lol Yeah I loaded XHP on the transmission, can't wait for it to be under heavy load and show how quick it can shift.

We achieved close to that on a stock motor adding only ethanol petrol mix and a Mosselman front mounted chargecooler + custom mapping. Stock turbo. It spins wheels in 4th and 5th on highway. Once you run on Ethanol mix they are rapid.

Lol I’m thinking so too, especially the G20 330i as they give you a great transmission and a longitudinally mounted RWD platform and modern tech for under 30K used. They are a dime a dozen.

This might be an ignorant question; what do you do when it comes time for a smog check? Removing the catalytic converter will surely fail smog.

I am always amazed how in the US it is perfectly ok to decat a car, while in Europe you will instantly be liable and your car won’t pass any inspection. Otherwise, nice clean job! Enjoy the ride.
