    Agree 💯, I've got the B48 in my 2017 1-series. With a little tickle its around 260hp and 410nm of torque. It's very light because it misses the 2 cylinders up front. Absolute blast to drive. 20 seconds to 200kph / 120 mph. And breezed to 240+ kph / 150+ mph on the Autobahn.

      its nothing compared to the m140 b58. But yea for a 4 pot its fine.

      @hettmannsperger42 I know, I looked at the 140i as well. It's just a lot more expensive as a daily..

    • @hettmannsperger42
      @hettmannsperger42 7 дней назад

      @12Music72 Not really if u compare numbers. I drive it's as a daily with 100k km on now and I have to say it's pretty cheap still as a performance car. It depends on where u live I guess. In Germany insurance is fine, not really more then for an regular 1series. If u drive daily calm on the pedal, u get like 8-10l per 100 km. That's around the same as the 48. Service isn't really more expensive either. Just bring ur own oil to the deal and u be cheaper on. Also the value on the 140 gonna hold up much better, as its the last 6 cylinder 1 series.

      @hettmannsperger42 it is if you compare numbers lmao. That's why I decided to go for the 4-pot for now. Next car will be a 3 or 5 series with the B58.
      The numbers in my case are as follows: road tax and insurance are 30% more expensive. And my mileage is more like 6,0-8,0 L /100km. Which is €1000 in fuel more per year..

      Have to agree, have a BMW 128ti in the UK, 265BHP and 400nm more than enough and great performance. Addictive as hell and a great chassis to boot.

    I was loaned by BMW dealership a 230i when my M235i was getting M exhaust installed. I could have sworn that I liked 230i better than M235i. Cz it felt so light sure it was missing the 320hp and 350 trq
    But there was something about 230i

      @BIGLOVE4TRUTH some 230i xdrive has M package. Did you test drive M240i or previous gen M235i?? I wanted to know your opinion on the difference???
      I think for everyday use age 230i more fun, but inline 6 turbo power of M235i/240i is addicting

      @@CorlosMazdareplace it with an aluminum one and the b58 will have the same plastic issues. Honestly I think the g20 330i is the best bang for buck cause it gets better mpg and you can make 400+ hp with a turbo, downpipe and tune. I have a b58 and im honestly thinking ab trading it in for a 330 💀 weighs the same has better handling characteristics and gets better mpg. B58 is cool but the timing chain redesign on the b48tu has sold me tbh.

    I mean it's okay. But it's not as good as the ea888.3/4. This b48 engine is not as reliable as the VW engine and costs more to maintain and repair. The king of 4 cylinder engines is the MB cla amg45 engine

      My 320i LCI has 238k miles ,not even a single drop of oil has dropped,and even my exhaust is clean,..also I've never had any problems with it,.. only a sparkplug change at 197k
