I was in the same boat but ended up going with the LC, LC trim. I was being real with myself and knew that I wanted a solid daily driver that had the capability of occasional light off-roading. LC, LC trim was the perfect option for me. Built in Japan, lots of creature comforts, high quality feel, big but nimble at the same time, lots of off-road features, global icon, etc. I’ve had it for a few months now and I’m very happy with my choice!
Over the years, I've owned both pickup and SUV based 4x4s, and have found that the SUVs tend to do much better off-road due to better weight distribution and shorter wheelbase. That being said, nowadays, the electronic genies and locking differentials tend to even things up a bit more. I'm currently running a '21 4Runner ORP and love it, but seriously considered the Tacoma and may still wind up with one someday. Great video, thanks!
I had a similar decision to make on the 1958 or an optioned TRD offroad and I had pretty much the same reasoning and ended up with the Tacoma. I would also throw in that the lancruiser 1958 was much more 'plasticy' on the inside, has a substantially worse towing setup and requires premium fuel.
I'm from the Philippines, and any of these will do for me..SUV or Pickup. Our roads are more on the rough side and because I live in the province or what you Americans call it, the countryside, that those types of vehicles are the most practical to own. Only the new Land Cruiser 250 is available here and no Tacoma, Tundra or even the Sequoia, are being offered here. But we have the bigger and new Land Cruiser LC300 though.
Hi CK You Picked Right If You Wanted A Closed In Back You Could Buy A Camper Top For The Truck You Did Great Just Like Always I Still Love That Cross Country Trip Video You Did With Your Dad I'll Have Burger King (Aka ) A Whopper I'm pound of you CK college that clock you made nice you can do it all I've Been Rolling With You A Long Time GBU And Family Always CK🙏❤️🌹
it’s a preference matter, but the tacoma is a greater value in my opinion. never mind the rear seat leg space constraints- you get a better loading hauling space. the door slam on the land cruiser sounded cheap.
Not certain why seeing so many 2024 Tacoma’s for sale on Facebook. Appears to have new accessories like bigger tires and roof racks. I own 5 of the older generation Tacoma’s, all with 4 doors 🚪.
The black on black land cruiser looks cool but the tacoma definately looks better. Any other color the land cruiser looks likes a ford without the lights in consideration... crazy!!!!
I do like the new Tacoma's, but I need a family vehicle, and I already have a 2020 Tundra. I'm debating between the new 4Runner, or the new LC. It's really hard.
Those doors make a very hollow sound when closing. No noise insulation in a vehicle that price? Toyota really needs to up their game re: noise insulation in the Tacoma and Land Cruiser. It's my #1 nit pick on my 2023 Tacoma TRD OR.
I have a more base trd OR and the doors are actually pretty solid when you shut them. They have a nice weight and feel very solid. Can’t speak on the LC, but I heard what you’re referring to in the video too. On my ‘22 Tacoma, the doors felt ok, but not as solid as the new ones. Very happy with how they feel. My only real quality complaint on the new taco is actually on the grab handle next to the shifter. It feels sturdy, but at the same time, cheap. Like I can feel the seams in the plastic trim and it just doesn’t feel very premium (I know it’s plastic, but still). Maybe they could address this issue by having the rubber grip go all the way around the grip instead of only the top and sides. I use it very often because it’s a convenient place for my hand in between gear shifts on the MT, and it’s bad practice to rest your hand on the shifter. It’s also nice to have a grip when taking sharp corners and turns. It’s a shame that something I like and use a lot in the interior is also something that reminds me that it’s relatively cheaply constructed… if that makes sense
Does anyone know if the 3rd generation Tacoma bed cleats will fit the 4th generation Tacoma bed cleat rails? Just got a 4th generation Tacoma SR-5 4WD and it's so basic it didn't come some things like floor mats and bed cleats.
These prices are absurd. You're basically spending 20,000 + to save a few mpg's and these engines will most likely not even last as long as the V6's. It makes no sense to me.
Surprised no discussion of the significant reliability issues plaguing the Tacoma. LC largely unscathed for now, but time will tell. Tacoma available below MSRP as a result.
honestly like I told all my younger siblings your an idiot instead of investing it but at he end of the day its your life but all the old people I know can just barely manage theyr bills and arent having any fun at all and are struggling at thery old age.
Nah pass Tacoma, Land Cruiser, 4Runner not buying it for double the price for my 17 Tacoma pro. And it’s only 2.4liter forget it my 02 Tacoma 2.4 way better than the new one👎👎👎👎
So, the point of rhis whole thing is missed. Glad you bought a trail rig. Most people arw looking at truck vs SUV and needs beyond it being a trail toy. RUclips influencer/ youthful/ unaware.

I think the new Tacoma is great, hope you can upgrade to the Landcruiser in future, I talked to two 4 runner pro owners, they loved that LC
You already have a Tacoma (pickup). Save your money. If you need a second vehicle get the LC, it’s made in Japan still.
RUclips worlds collide! I also follow Lifestyle Overland (Kevin)
You already had a Tacoma, I would've bought the LC instead.
I agree everyone on RUclips has a new Tacoma
The truck is much more useful and looks better.
Try hauling that refrigerator in a LC.
@@michiganborn8303 She would probably do that in the tacoma that she already owns
Yes, but content wise, the Tacoma will generate more views.

Love your videos you are so awesome ❤
Landcruiser is a huge vehicle . It's nice in person
Tacoma is made in Mexico and LC is made in Japan...
👍👍❤thanks for sharing this video
Good vlog, do you still own the earlier (white) model LC? I honestly like that one better😊

1:14 hey you got to meet Kevin from Lifestyle Overland.
Almost Chevy Tahoe money lol.
I already have a 3rd gen on Kings that I'm not getting rid of so a V8 Tahoe will be my next ride.
Been waiting for your explanation 🤣

crazy!!!!
Old Tacoma will outlast new one for sure.
The 2024 Tacoma, has a better towing experience than the LC, a bed for hauling stuff, con is the leg room on the Taco
I would have bought a used Truck. You still made the right choice in buying the Tacoma, it should last you for a long time.
Yeah im all for an older series 100 landcruiser with the v8. These turbo 4 monstrosities are not the same at all
Good decision!
Everyone is thinking in terms of practicality instead of what she likes and what made her channel successful. Which is Tacomas..
Should have bought the LC, at least you wouldn't be stuck on the side of the road when your transmission goes out.
I do like the new Tacoma's, but I need a family vehicle, and I already have a 2020 Tundra. I'm debating between the new 4Runner, or the new LC. It's really hard.
Family vehicle would be sequoia. That’s it
So what about this BUMPSTOP problem, with Toyotas breaking shock mounts . How do you fix it .
I feel the Toyota Hilux sold in the Phillipines is a far superior vechical, in looks and Drive train, compared to our US Tacoma.
0:03 because the gas prices in So Cal are stupid expensive and the Land Cruiser requires premium.

Everything is hollow. I was watching my hood in 2024 off road yesterday warp with the wind bc it’s so damn thin.
Not a Landcruiser, but still good.
Prados are still Land Cruisers
Does anyone know if the 3rd generation Tacoma bed cleats will fit the 4th generation Tacoma bed cleat rails?
Just got a 4th generation Tacoma SR-5 4WD and it's so basic it didn't come some things like floor mats and bed cleats.
The new 4Runner will be a basic LC. If they ever release it…
For same price,
I’d never blink and buy a made in Japan vehicle compared to a Made in Mexico lol
Sorry chloe I think made the wrong all on this one. You could did these add ons for great content and have to great trucks
These prices are absurd. You're basically spending 20,000 + to save a few mpg's and these engines will most likely not even last as long as the V6's. It makes no sense to me.
Ah, Kurt and Kevin. Two of my favorite Toyota adventure people.
Yes tacoma all the way love my
What was your savings strategy when you bought your tacoma?
The TH is like 65k looks at those dinky front tow hooks lmao
One is built in Japan one is not, easy choice!
Ohhhh 58000 big money girl

All these staged Toyota events are so corny
Savagegeese tore up the LC event 😂
what about sequoia? tacoma vs fourrunner you mean.
How did you only pay 15000 for a 2024
You got ripped off on the 4th gen Tacoma Chloe
$100 to do a video call
Nah pass Tacoma, Land Cruiser, 4Runner not buying it for double the price for my 17 Tacoma pro. And it’s only 2.4liter forget it my 02 Tacoma 2.4 way better than the new one👎👎👎👎
You already have gas guzzlers, i would've bought a Cybertruck instead 🤡
I don't like I4 engine on new Tacoma 😂😢😅
So, the point of rhis whole thing is missed. Glad you bought a trail rig. Most people arw looking at truck vs SUV and needs beyond it being a trail toy.

Lmao why does it matter what anyone thinks about what YOU buy??
I never had a spotter wheeling my taco rookies and their nice people friends. Wheeling as all about breaking shit!
