Hello, Mikhaila! Congratulations in advance on your determination to finish Belíssimo TMB! I must tell you that, I started my "Tour du Mont Blanc". on July 29, 2023! Anti-clockwise. In fact, we have had similar experiences, having met or known people from the most varied countries! As the Portuguese community is well represented in Switzerland, I hoped to find immigrants living and working in Switzerland along the TMB. As such, I had the opportunity to meet several Portuguese people who work in Switzerland, learning a little more about the habits of local people! I actually had a lot of fun watching your TMB videos. The problem with your luggage really was a huge headache! Likewise, I also did some variants, but due to the bad weather, I didn't do the one that was most "challenging" for me... "Fenêtre D'Arpette". I was sad at the moment, but I was sure that I would be able to do it and get to know it at another opportunity. As such, and if everything goes as I have planned, I will start the route between Chamonix-Zermatt, on the 31st of July or the 1st of August, this year. And I hope that this time, the weather won't ruin my plans! eheheheh. From now on, I wish you all the best and that you continue to do what you love so much. Greetings from Portugal. Eduardo Gomes.
Amazing! We would have just missed each other, as I flew home on July 29th. It was really lovely to meet people from so many different places near and far. It sounds like you made the right call on the Fenêtre D'Arpette given the weather, but I'm glad you have a chance to return for more hiking in the area! Safe travels 🏔️✌🏻
I'm editing a gear video now! Haven't considered making a planning/preparation video, but I may at some point. I know there are a lot of other really good ones out there
It looks really beautiful but its such a different way of hiking than what we typically experience in North America, with maybe the exception of hiking from hut to hut in the White Mountains on the AT. Thank you for sharing this trip with us!
It was so different! At some moments it felt like you were in true mountain wilderness and the next thing you know, you’d be walking into a little town
Oh no rocks!! You don't do well with rocks. Ha! I have so many questions...too many to ask on this platform. But how difficult was it to arrange transportation? And do you speak French?
Happy to say no knee scrapes this time around! Google maps worked really well for figuring out timing and location of trains and buses, but after making it to Trient for day 3, I was pretty much all on foot for the remainder of the TMB. I don’t speak French (sadly). A lot of people speak English along the TMB luckily - especially people running the refuges and other businesses. I do wish I’d known more French though to be able to converse with more hikers!
very cool and relaxing videos to watch! thank u for sharing.
Thank you! ☺️

As a gear/planning nerd, would you consider doing a video on the planning/preparation and gear for the trip? Really enjoying this TMB series!
