making ariana grande's glinda dress to wear to the wicked movie 🫧
I've been obsessed with Wicked since 2005 and Ariana Grande since 2018, so it's an understatement to say that I was excited for the Wicked movie to hit theaters this year.
While I'm only a very novice seamstress, I wanted to recreate the now iconic outfit that Glinda wears to go to the Emerald City with Elphaba in the movie. I think I was able to pull it off with some thrift store finds and pink fabric. Let me know what you think!

incredible that this exists 🥹💙 | Crater Lake National Park

In my final leg of my Oregon Road trip, I spent a few days in Crater Lake National Park. I had high expectations, but was still completely awestruck when I saw the lake for the first time. The way it changed as the sky changed was magical. While visiting the park, I spent two nights car camping nearby and witnessed several beautiful sunsets and sunrises, including a sunrise over Crater Lake! My...

Having loved prior travels in the state of Washington and in Northern California, I had high expectations for my first visit to Oregon. It did not disappoint! I spent a week driving around the state and spending time in nature. This first video features my time near Portland and Mt. Mammoth Cave National Park | solo car camping trip

In this video - a Friday morning off work, a wedding in Columbus, and a road trip to see Mammoth Cave for the first time! This was also my first solo car camping trip since renovating my Honda CRV car camper :) A few days before my trip, Mammoth Cave was ranked as the "3rd most disappointing US attraction," but I would disagree. I was very impressed and had a great time! Music courtesy of Mojan...

convinced my parents to go camping

My parents joined me for a night of camping at East Harbor State Park. While this is something they wouldn't normally do, I think both of them actually had a good time! My brother's joined in for various parts of the weekend adventure - kayaking and a bonfire. Austin and I also had a chance to do some early morning birding, and we saw a mink! Enjoy 😊🤍⛺️
solo hiking the dipsea trail while visiting San Francisco
Просмотров 6364 месяца назад
I first hiked the Dipsea Trail in March of 2017 with a group of friends while at a conference in San Francisco. The variety of landscapes covered on one route left me feeling excited and inspired. While in town for a wedding this past weekend, I found time to return to this longtime favorite. The hike felt new in many ways, in part because the green hills I remembered were now a rich gold due t...
lake erie birding | roseate tern (first in ohio!?), american avocet, green heron
Просмотров 2484 месяца назад
Austin and I went birding in Huron this past weekend. The highlight was seeing a roseate tern, which is normally found along the Atlantic ocean. It's possible that this is the first roseate tern to be spotted in Ohio and maybe even the furthest inland overall. Other good finds included the American avocet, purple martins, and green herons. I also snuck in a few of Austin's piping plover picture...
stranded on north manitou island | maddog's first backpacking trip
Просмотров 9754 месяца назад
Last summer, my plans for a solo backpacking trip on North Manitou Island in Michigan fell through, so I was excited to reattempt this year. I invited (or she invited herself, or it was simultaneous?) my friend Madison to join, as she had been looking to go on her first backpacking trip this summer. Our time on the island was everything we'd hoped for (though maybe a little too rainy); that is,...
solo hiking the Skye Trail | i had to quit halfway through

As soon as I completed the Tour du Mont Blanc last year, I knew I had to start planning another long distance backpacking trip. The Skye Trail, which is located on the Isle of Skye in Scotland, seemed to be the perfect next solo adventure. There were many challenges during the first few days of my hike, including one of the wildest windstorms (certainly the wildest I'd experienced from inside m...
solo travels in Edinburgh | preparing to hike the Skye Trail

In May, I traveled to Scotland for the first time. My primary motivation was my plan to hike the Skye Trail, an unmarked, 80-mile trail on the Isle of Skye. Before beginning my hike, I stayed in Edinburgh for a few days, which I spent exploring the beautiful city! 🏴🤍🏙️
my modular Honda CRV car camper setup | how to build as an amateur

I’ve been sleeping in my Honda CRV on road trips for the past few years, but my setup has historically been quite uncomfortable. To make future travels more enjoyable, I decided to build two units to create a comfortable bed for me (and a friend). The units are modular to allow for ultimate flexibility in how I’m able to use my CRV. Hopefully this video provides helpful insight or ideas to appl...

You are a talented young lady!
Thank you!
Came out great! How would a person even know where to start on something like that? And what's a "dart"? Ha!
Thanks!! It took me a long time to figure out how to get started. A dart is kind of like l folding the fabric on top of itself and sewing it closer together haha
Hello, can you share the link for your guide for the pyramid. Thank you
Yes! We booked with Mario here: www.toursbylocals.com/MexicoPrivateGuide
Love this!!! What a beautiful trip. Envious.
It really was! Thank you!
Cute pumpkin!
Thank you! 🎃
On today’s episode of “Me and My Plant”… 8:14 Looks like you both had fun 🙃
So much fun 😅
My guess is kabocha for the green squash because the stem is smaller than a buttercup, and butternut for the smaller orange ones.
Possibly!
Nice autumn colored trees.....Thanks for including your beautiful Jeep Wrangler in the video. 🚙
I miss the days of having the roof and windows off, but summer will come again!
Yes, Jeep are cool. Have one myself. Enjoy your channel, stay groovy.
Thanks!
Thanks for letting us into part of your life.
You're welcome ☺️
I travel solo all the time! Tho I didn't start until my 30s. I agree with your pros and cons :)
Hope you enjoy all your future travels! 😊
Inspiring! I love to hike alone but my con is not having someone to share a moment with, like seeing a bear or a sunset. Some things don't translate to folks that weren't there, even in photo or video. Thanks for sharing!
Yes, I do miss having that shared moment also. I've occasionally FaceTimed, but even that isn't the same!
Always especially love the birding vlogs! Maybe you guys can get us a snowy owl this winter. You do a great job on your videos.
We haven’t seen a snowy owl yet this year, so it would be great to see one before the year ends!
You make great videos, as you really show us around. Thanks so much!
Thanks! I try to ☺️
Thanks for the video. Have Canada (BC) on your travel list one day as it's very beautiful. Once you decide I can send you some locations to visit (including hot-springs water).
That would be awesome!
Thanks for sharing your personal thoughts and experiences. I enjoy both solo and buddy adventures. They def each have their pros and cons. For me, age 60 and still doing challenging adventures, it’s extremely difficult to find others in my age group to adventure with. I’ve built up courage for solo, one step at a time. To start out young,as you are doing, will benefit you so much as time passes.
Agree - they're two completely different experiences, but both worthwhile!
awesome that you and your mom enjoyed our city. welcome back whatever you want
Thank you! I made it back in July with some friends - sooner than I’d expected. Didn’t film that trip, but we had an absolutely wonderful time again 😊

Crazy! Super rare to see any snow in this part of the country nowadays.
That’s too bad. The snow is beautiful ❄️
I'm glad to have a group of friends to backpack with (all in our 20s), but I'm starting to do solo trips and definitely prefer some aspects of it. Is it as fun to camp alone? Nah. But I tend to hike fast and make routine sight seeing stops, so I certainly prefer the solo hike as to not be slowed down by a group or hear groaning when I see a cool ass overlook I'd like to stop for. Being from the midwest, it's great to have my group of guys that like to backpack since it's not so common out here, but yeah the dating pool isn't exactly full of backpackers unfortunately. That said, I've met women on my solo trips that I otherwise likely would have not met in a group, so who knows. I figure I'll let it play out and see what happens.
I agree that being able to go at your own pace is a huge plus. It’s great you have a good group of friends to go with sometimes too!
Absolutely loved you Isle Royale trip. I chose to experience it 3 ways. First back packing, then day hiking from their cabins and lastly on the American plan. Which covered your food and shelter via the lodge along with boat rental, water taxis and day hiking. You are amazing keep up the good work !!!!
I'd love to go back there someday and experience it in a different way - by boat would be sweet!
Man feel this so hard - also 20s and single and basically only travel solo. I'm trying to hit up all 431 National Park Sites which a lot of people make fun of me for. But I do it anyway. Some are certainly more exciting than others. Agree the top pro is doing whatever you want & at your own pace. Agree the cost since you aren't splitting hotels etc is tough. Another one is having to take all of your bags with you at airports whenever you go grab food, restroom, etc. Anyway great video agree with everything, glad I'm not the only one who does this and goes through this dialog :)
That's such a cool goal! I'm aiming for just the National Parks (at least for now), and it still feels like a lot. The airport struggle can be real haha. Glad to know I'm also not the only one ☺
Mikhaila, you are wiser beyond your years. Like you, I need to take a "great nature bath" regularly, whether it be solo, with family or with a buddy. I've noticed that if I pick adventures close to home (day trips), I have a much higher success rate of bringing a friend along. There is one friend that I go wilderness hiking/canoeing with every year for a week and we pick a place that is within a days drive (8-10 hrs away). My solo trips are usually weekend trips in the early spring or late fall and I'll just sleep overnight in the back of my Subaru as long as it stays 50 degrees or above. Just like everything in life, it pays off big when you stay flexible, balanced, and diversified.
I love weekend trips in the late fall and/or early spring when the world just feels quieter and more peaceful!
I remember you guys showing us your pictures from Yellowstone after you guys got back!
Yes! We had so much fun. Isaac spotting the grizzly up close and crying when we initially didn't believe him is probably my favorite memory from that trip 😂
So good to hear you got to visit South Dakota. I used to live there; miss the beauty of the state.
I loved it! Between Custer State Park and the Badlands, so much incredible nature to see
I also travel alone and I recently visited Badlands National Park, Custer State Park, Wind Cave National Park, Theodore National Park and Fargo.
Awesome!
This has been your best series yet! Beautiful video footage, your music selections are outstanding, and we're always watching for the bird identification shots! So glad you shared these last few and looking forward to what's next! Safe travels!
Thank you!! Austin was jealous of the prairie falcon. That would have been a lifer for him ☺️
What a nice ending to this video :-)
☺ yes, it was a peaceful sitting spot
Another beautiful video. This looked so relaxing. The series was very well done and I love watching your content.
Thank you! I had a wonderful time in Oregon. Looking forward to watching your Pictured Rocks video and reminiscing about my time there 😊
Very nice video. Thanks for sharing. sub & 👍43
Thank you so much!!
Humman feeder!!!!

Are you totally insane?? Thirty five feet into the lake? In your cloths? And you talk about others being fearless. Ha! Enjoyed seeing this.
Definitely the right choice to get there for sunrise!!😁

😍Very Beautiful lake. I'm from Canada (British Colombia) and we have similar lakes like that, I love it. Thanks for sharing this video.
Thanks for watching ☺️
Love your adventures! Been inspired to get out in my beloved Smokies and surrounding areas again! Thank you❤
I’m so happy to hear that! The smokies are lovely
Thanks for sharing! Looks like an incredible lake. I hope to make it out there sometime soon
I hope so too!!
Hello, Portland native here! All of those burnt trees are from the Eagle Creek Fire that we had back in 2017. It went from Eagle Creek all the way west to Corbett Oregon which is west of Multnomah Falls. Many different fire departments worked to save the Lodge at Multnomah Falls.
While I was hiking, I was thinking that I wish I could have seen it before the fire came through. I’m sure it would’ve had a completely different feel
@@mikhailalynn Many of the hiking trails were closed and are still closed due to the fire. The Oneonta gorge/trail is one of those trails. In the 7 years since the fire, that area has had a lot of new growth. But you can definitely see some of the effects of that devastation still.
💚
Wow, what beautiful places you shared and also thanks for the bird ID shots! We think it's cool that you are so comfortable traveling solo. Keep on sharing your travels, please!
Thank you!! All credit goes to Austin for the bird IDs. It's crazy what he can tell from a video!
Beautiful ❤
Thank you!
What a great video/person to stumble upon! You are head and shoulders above most who have posted the ubiquitous vlogs about traveling the Oregon coast. Your "eye" and your way of presenting what you have seen is super smart! I'm an old Montana guy in his 70's, with three daughters in their thirties, and this area is our personal comfort space on the planet. You're a gift, kiddo. Good luck in life!
What a kind comment, thank you! I'm glad I was able to capture and share some of the beauty of your comfort space. I can see why you love it so much!
You pretty much perfectly captured this area. I could sit along the beach and look across the rocks and ocean all day. Unfortunately my hiking season is done for the year, due to an ankle fracture, but I'll be looking to make my way to the PNW next year. I plan on applying for an overnight permit at the Enchantments, though the odds are tough.
It was unbelievable! I wish I'd had more that two days along the coast, but hopefully I'll have the chance to return someday. I'll keep my fingers crossed you get the permit!
Absolutely beautiful video. So relaxing to watch
☺️ thank you!
🙂Hey Mikhaila , nice hiking trails and ocean.....However, what happened to your 2024 Wrangler?
I still have it (and love it)! I could only get a week off work, so flew to Oregon and got a rental car out there.
@@mikhailalynn 🌟Thanks for the update. I'm planning to order the 2025 2-door 6-speed manual transmission Wrangler Sport sometime next year, and it will be my dream vehicle and will keep it for life. Please make more videos about your Jeep whenever you have time . 🚙
Amazing!!!! I feel the same way about mine - dream car and plan to keep for life. I was thinking an off-roading outing would be fun to film… but haven’t gotten around to it yet
So you DO know how to use a utensil! :) Very pretty coast. And yes it's always advisable not to fall to one's death. Ha!
Know how to use them… remembering them is where I struggle 😅
Absolutely fantastic filming and editing my friend! Great episode!
Thank you!!
Any dams seen on the trails? I always enjoy watching the beavers build them. Also, appreciate the camera view when crossing the river on the log. It looked higher from that point of view.
I didn’t notice any dams, but I probably wasn’t paying close enough attention!
Another wonderful video! So beautiful. I look forward to your next part. I too have the same thoughts about solo adventuring; will I enjoy it, will I get bored or lonely. But you are so correct, once we get into the adventure it just feels okay. I’ve yet to do a multi-day adventure solo though, I just solo daily adventures. One day maybe.
Thank you so much! I think it’s a similar, special feeling no matter the amount of time spent in nature alone ☺️🌿
Looks awesome
Thank you 😊
I enjoyed the scenery as much as your reflections on traveling alone sometimes. I like to camp and hike, usually with my wife or friends, but sometimes solo. It seems like I notice "the details" more when I'm on my own. Looking forward to the rest of the trip!
Yes, I totally agree!
What were you using before All Trails? That's how I always do my navigation
I used Gaia Maps the past few years, but they recently increased the annual cost, so I switched to All Trails
