Stumbling on your channel and binge watching it makes me feel like solo camping. I did it once 30 years ago and was very lonely but now think there’s a meditation to being alone with my thoughts.
It’s an incredibly meditative experience. It definitely helps to have some plans in place too - like planning for a campfire or planning specific hikes
Another great job Mik! You really have a talent for framing shots. The rain and the lack of people in the way make it more interesting. Happy birthday!
Your orange cake reminded me of when I was a kid and we would wrap potatoes in tin foil and cover them with coals to bake them. I don't remember how good they were but I remember we used to say "everything tastes better when you're camping" and it seemed to be true at the time. I'm too old now, but you should consider dutch ovens. Too heavy to lug around but at the campsite you could cook all kinds of yummy stuff. @@mikhailalynn
Happy Birthday, Mikhaila! What a treat to come home from working all day on Thanksgiving to see another one of your videos. And it's in Hocking Hills! I LOVE that place! I've spent a lot of time exploring that area a few years back. How lucky to be able to be there during rain. I know that may seem a little silly but the way the raindrops left bubbles in the streams and the sound of a constant light drizzle, makes me miss those hills even more! And camping too, I think if I ever get rescued from being marooned on this island, I might take up van camping for a stretch. See some of the country at my own pace and not on a schedule. I love your vibe in your videos. You make your little get-away adventures seem so fun and also self reflecting. I too love to spend time by myself so solo adventures really appeal to me. Cheers to you and I can't wait to see your next adventure!
Was at Hocking Hills last summer. Beautiful place. I’m from Michigan, and hocking hills surprised me how beautiful it is! Felt like our west or something
Happy Birthday! I usually stay in state parks or federal forests when I travel as well. I went to Hocking Hills state park in May '21 and it was rainy and not very crowded as well, so your video brought back some fond memories. I don't ever comment but I wanted to tell you thanks because you motivated me for my isle Royale backpacking trip this past summer. It was one of the best adventures of my life. I also enjoy my solo adventures. Take care!
It makes me so happy to hear I was able to help inspire you to backpack on Isle Royale. I'm glad you had such a good time there! Wish you all the best in your future travels also 😊
I've heard so much about Hocking Hills but still haven't made it up there yet. No excuse since it's so close. And holy moly I was thinking at that same moment that the tower reminded me of the Ojibway tower on the Greenstone right when you mentioned it!! Happy late birthday.
I don't bring a pillow when backpacking, but that is one of the things to look forward to about car camping 😂 I will remember next time... (hopefully!)
This video caught my attention because i just spent a week there, also for my bday :)) .... if you go again, i recommend Conkles Hollows Upper Rim and Lower, and Gorge Ovverlook Loop (8mi) ..... If you like pizza, try Papa Dinos right outside the park 😋 .... Happy Belated Birthday 🎉
It looks really pretty there! Lifelong resident of MA here who might be moving out to Columbus next year for a job. I'm experiencing a lot of FOMO coming to realization that next year I might not be close to the WMNF, Baxter, and Acadia. Hocking Hills looks pleasant though!
Regarding your comment that your idea of fun is solo camping and hiking in a state park: I see nothing to criticize here. Edit: Oh right, yes, also: Happy birthday!
@@mikhailalynn You definitely are not. My brother is planning a trip to Red River Gorge in Kentucky early this spring...for his bachelor party. He and I have both solo-camped in the past.
Happy Birthday 🎉 the Little Smokies
Thank you!

Beautiful scenery work and capturing the sounds along with it!😊
Happy birthday!
Thank you so much 😀

Thank you for the compliment! I do really enjoy trying to figure out how to set up the camera to best capture what’s around me

I also thought the rain drops one the water were quite beautiful! I'm glad you felt the same :)
Happy birthday🤗
Thanks!!

I agree, it’s surprising to find a place like that here. Very grateful for it!
Happy Birthday! Cheers!

You’ll definitely have to make the trip to see it!
What a wonderful way to spend a birthday! And I don’t know how many times I’ve got to camp and said the same thing “oh my gosh I forgot a pillow!” 😂

The perfect place for a birthday 🥳 I do plan on going again at some point, so thank you so much for all the recommendations!

There are plenty of cool places around! Probably won’t beat out Acadia, but hopefully you’ll still enjoy it
Happy birthday! I use the aero press too, and I think it makes the best coffee. You ever try the inverted method with it? It’s my preferred way.
I haven’t! I’ll have to find a “how-to” RUclips video and test it out
