He surely is trained to do those hikes and obeys my commands well otherwise I wouldn't take him with me. Adopted him at 11 months and started hiking with him in the mountains when he was 1,5 years old. Haha, he was indeed a bit skeptical about the bridge and made me get abrasian on my knee when I went back to the camera. He does indeed trust me whenever I do something he follows along. Thanks again for the the comment! I really like creating those videos and whenever I got enough time to do multi day hikes I will take it. I got multiple ones planned for the summer! Stay along for the journey!

Au bout de deux ans, il m’a dit qu’on allait aller faire un tour tous les deux dans la montagne, sans ma mère… et on a fait le tour du Mont Blanc, pendant 10 ou 15 jours, je ne sais plus…. Je ne comprenais son but à l’époque, alors que je n’avais que 12 ans…. Mais aujourd’hui, je suis fier d’avoir vécu cette expérience avec lui. On s’est retrouvé face a une tempête au niveau du refuge du col du bonhomme, on ne voyait plus rien, on avait peur, on a trouvé une maison abandonnée ou un couple s’était réfugié…. Quelle souvenir…. Je sais que par la suite il voulait qu’on aille au sommet mais on ne l’a jamais fait…. J’ai aujourd’hui 48 ans. Je suis tellement fier de l’avoir fait avec lui. Je suis heureux d’avoir fait plaisir à mon père par cette aventure, car je l’ai vu, il était heureux

The fact this mountain has an actual (it seems) free to use lodge for camping that's already very advanced. The "time" markers on the signs telling you on average how long it would take you to walk a certain route... or the ropes put in place on hard to climb bits. There have been some hikes here in the UK that I wish I had at least those ropes tied to poles so I could hold on to. Worst thing is when going up really steep rocks and your foot slips and you feel your heart sinking looking down at about 300 metre drop (or worse)... Well, any length over 50m drop is pretty much deadly by my reckoning.

Chamonix and the Tour du Mt Blanc are almost an English / American colony with tens of thousands of them coming through each year. No worries about the language. People here are used to English speakers. Which unfortunately is not the case for all of France.
I'm an American and I did this hike back in July. If the language barrier is the only thing holding you back, it's the smallest obstacle. This is an extremely popular hike and sees tourists from all over the world and the common language of choice is English. I think the most difficult bit was simply fitness and costs. It's expensive to travel Western Europe.

I live in the Netherlands, and we went both skiing in winter and often hiking in summer in the Austrian Alps, but unfortunately our dog then went to either family, friends or a place where you could drop your dog for a week or three. Would have loved to go hiking with one or two of the dogs I really grew up with. The last one being a female Rottweiler we had when I was 9 or 10 until my 17th because of bone cancer, she would have loved it. THe other and first dog from my birth to 7 or 8 a Danish dog but the size might have made it more complicated, plus he was more lazy.

You can be sure it's worth it. I walked it for the first time in July 2021 and the views are unforgettable. I still live in my thoughts about it. Going it alone is one of the best options you'll get. I'll never forget waiting on the Italian side until dark just to pitch my tent, regufie nowhere.

J'ai envie de faire la même chose, le Tour du Mont-Blanc, mais en bivouac pour être le plus seul possible et m'offrir ces quelques jours d'isolement dans un environnement majestueux et de toutes beautés, pouvoir méditer dans des endroits sublimes et faire une introspection profonde de ma vie, et pourquoi découvrir de nouvelles choses sur moi-même en même temps que ces paysages incroyables. Le rêve !

@@YensBastiaens It's not solo when you have such a great companion. I live in the Netherlands, and we went both skiing in winter and often hiking in summer in the Austrian Alps, but unfortunately our dog then went to either family, friends or a place where you could drop your dog for a week or three. Would have loved to go hiking with one or two of the dogs I really grew up with. The last one being a female Rottweiler we had when I was 9 or 10 until my 17th because of bone cancer, she would have loved it. THe other and first dog from my birth to 7 or 8 a Danish dog but the size might have made it more complicated, plus he was more lazy.

You can be sure it's worth it. I walked it for the first time in July 2021 and the views are unforgettable. I still live in my thoughts about it. Going it alone is one of the best options you'll get. I'll never forget waiting on the Italian side until dark just to pitch my tent, regufie nowhere.

Cette vidéo que j'ai eu la chance de découvrir par hasard, m'a fait rêver comme cela ne m'était pas arriver depuis longtemps. J'ai envie de faire la même chose, le Tour du Mont-Blanc, mais en bivouac pour être le plus seul possible et m'offrir ces quelques jours d'isolement dans un environnement majestueux et de toutes beautés, pouvoir méditer dans des endroits sublimes et faire une introspection profonde de ma vie, et pourquoi découvrir de nouvelles choses sur moi-même en même temps que ces paysages incroyables.

Dans le passé, j’ai adopté un Tervuren, je ne pense pas qu’il m’aurai suivie sur les ponts traversant les torrents 😅 il faut dire qu’il n’avait pas eu un début de vie des plus heureux avec l’humain.

When you are young you are so rich in so many things and you have found them all.

It was a total surprise for me to see for the first time a solo hike film round Mont Blanc....well, solo not exactly because we all loved to see you amazing four-legged pal ! Beautiful partner ! Beautifully filmed video with a serenity feeling all the way. COOL adventure and great filming/editing. I know what it is because I used to make videos of my many hikes in the French Pyrenees...stressful but so exciting ! Once again, BRAVO. It was also emotional for me to see the French/Swiss border col de Balme refuge/hut where I had one of the most delicious fruit cakes ever 3 years ago. Nostalgia, here I come !
