Owner of cx-50 turbo over a month now. All I got to say is to feed this with only premium fuel! Although regular can be used, the engine feels a bit sluggish with it. Putting in premium octane, the engine is noticeably more powerful and smoother.

Before choosing a CX50 you should consider the following:
    1. The GT’s 20” rims and standard Goodyears (Canada) cannot be considered an off-road tire. Hopefully it works in winter but you don’t have much tread depth.
    2. This is no competitor to a Subaru product as there is no suspension travel, little ground clearance and a metric tonne-load of plastic under the Mazda (can you find the oil filter DIY’s)
    3. Fussy interior: Beautiful sure but it marks so easily and that surface around the shifter is hard to clean and scratches easily.
    4. How do you clean the heads-up display that sits in the well in the dash and do you find the display in the glass distorted or clear?
    5. Don’t count on great mileage and oil change intervals seem to be more frequent.
    6. Body: so many crevices to trap sand and salt over winter = early rust potential? Just wondering (had literally miles of weather strip components)
    7. Rear storage: Disappointing! The problem is the roof height. If you travel with small family (4) you must consider bringing empty luggage to the dealership. You may find a CX5 works better as luggage can stand vertically back to back?Try it! Or reconsider other brands. Don’t simply rely on volume data.
    8. Purchase experience: Maybe this is happening every where but freight and PDI seems greatly inflated and acting like a surcharge.
    9. Ergonomics: Not bad. Glad to see some buttons but the stitching on the steering wheel isn’t smooth, spokes are awkward and grip width at the 9 and 3 position aren’t good. You might agree after 500 miles.
    10. Chassis should be an inch or 2 taller to achieve a better ride and provide greater ground clearance. Isn’t this meant to be a better off-asphalt Mazda?
    11. Seats. Be sure you are ok with the Mazda designed butt-floss. This is weird and should be changed mid-production. Seats are hard. Bolsters are very hard. Access and egress for taller front passengers is a pain.
    12. Look hard at the CX5 before you buy the 50.
    13. Outward visibility is poor due to the tall door sills and low seating position. This is greatly annoying and further, the shape of the mirror looks nice but is less functional. I recommend looking at Subaru as outward visibility is fantastic.
    14. Decorative exterior panels scratch very easily.

Cx5 is mazdas global bread and butter vehicle. Mazda has not mentioned yet if it's gonna be discontinued here in the USA going forward, but for now is sold alongside the cx-50. It got a major refresh in 2022. This year it got a minor refresh. Word in the pipeline is that it could be redesigned for 2024 or 2026, or could continue to sell outside the USA, while we get a new lineup of SUVs going forward (cx 30, 50, 70, and 90). The cx-30 looks also dated and could be up for a major refresh. We shall see what happens when Mazda brings hybrid to the table for cx-50 and cx-30.

RUclips is only a social media web site, it can’t answer your question, “What’s going on, RUclips?”.
I do enjoy your reviews though.

Nice car , i had the top of line turbo, but i had to give it away, the ride is so harsh , you felt as if there is no suspension system, you feel every road imperfection, and if there are potholes or rough asphalt
is torture, plus the seat is fairly stiff
    too
I think it is for the stupid suspension set up
they put a, rear torsion bean( on a 40000$ car!)
so if u drive mostly on smooth highway
its decent but if drive mostly in the city
    is very unconfortable
I had the 20 inch wheels
so with the 17 inch would be better
but you still have the suspension issue
so if anyone wants one they really need to test drive it on inner city roads not just hwy
the car is otherwise good , good engine, driving dynamics ,brakes, tech , interiors, mazda just ruined it with their moronic suspension set up
another thinkis the steering ,is quite hard
you need to work at it
luckly since there are no cars
i sold it in one day now i got a Alfa romeo stelvio
    on 19s
the ride is a dream compared to Mazda

I bet your Alfa is going to spend a lot more time having things fixed than the Mazda would have.

I went to Mazda before Honda and others, then I bought Toyota, and I didn't like the infotainment system in Mazda.

I had two Mazdas long ago but there terrible quality of course it was when Ford owned Mazda. To pay $43,000 it to high price for Mazda even that it’s beautiful from outside.

Mazda is now up there with Honda and Toyota according to Consumer reports. Mazdas transmission and skyactiv engines last over 200k miles

Extremely disappointed with the CX-50 Turbo. Punishingly harsh ride on uneven driving surfaces. You're jarred by every bump and pothole in the street. Pronounced road noise at highway speeds. Shockingly sluggish brakes. And the steering wheel isn't uniformly round and smooth.
Was so disappointed by this vehicle, I terminated my lease early. Shame on Mazda for manufacturing such a subpar SUV.
