@@adelinel.moorehead5665 yes, there is medication for vertigo. It's called Meclizine. I have chronic vertigo & I take the medication. For the most part, it doesn't work for me, unfortunately. There are times when I feel it working a little bit, but other than that, I'm so tired of this dizzy, room-spinning feeling. Would love to feel steady & stable again! I miss being able to walk the way I want, without grabbing onto a wall, chair, etc... & I truly miss wearing my heels without looking like a drunk! (& I don't even drink, so sometimes it's even more frustrating when I'm out & people look at me like I am drunk. I don't find that amusing!) Be thankful you feel ok. You don't know how blessed you are. May sound silly to you, but for those of us that suffer, trust me, it isn't silly! It takes away a part of your quality of life, believe it or not. Isn't fun, that's for sure!

I know it doesn't appear to be related to eye fatigue, but it's exactly what happened to me. One night of insomnia I started watching my computer screen even despite feeling a strong eye strain. Right after standing up again I started having vertigo and loss of balance - never had such issue before and I'm still rather young. It lasted for 10 unpleasant days, and everyone was telling me to go check a doctor, etc. When I was walking and looking around, I was loosing balance for 1-2 second sand had to move my foot or I would step 'sideways' instead of straight. Felt like I was at risk of falling. After 10 days it completely gone. Lesson learned: don't watch computer screen/phone/tablet if you feel eye strain, especially at night.

I did, however, discover something called a Neti Pot which involves running salted, distilled water through the nasal passages. There are many videos on this subject here. I found that with the Neti Pot, it really unclogged my ears! I was shocked at the amount of popping and crunching happened inside my ears! I must say that this HAS made a definite difference and improvement to my dizziness. On the days where my ears just won't "pop" during this treatment, the vertigo remains. For the mostpart, however, it s REALLY helping! I will be spending time doing this eye exercise as I am open to the fact that this may also be my eyes in addition to having labyrinthitis. Hey thanks so much! I have had vertigo off and on for over 10 years! I have had good luck with the exercise Dr Foster provides in her videos but lately they haven’t been helping. I just did the eye exercises in your video and surprisingly my vertigo is better! I say surprisingly because it seems so very simp,e I thought “ how could this work?” But it did! Thank you so very much! We are traveling 8 hours this week to visit my new granddaughter and I was so worried about feeling badly! I will continue to add this to my daily routines!

check your Vitamin D 3 level.. have your blood test check for deficiency....most common cause of vertigo is not enough Vitamin D 3.. you should take a supplement it won't hurt and test it out.. it should start regulating your calcium on your vestibular canals.. This guy is bunch of nonsense...

Hello, I plan on giving this a shot. I started having bppv a few years ago, did the fosters and eply off and on and sometimes they helped, but lately its been a more general feeling of unsteadiness, I have also been getting slight jerks of vertigo while playing a video game and the camera pans about. So here's hoping this helps, thanks!

Not to the point of falling but not stable. I have noticed that my balance is significantly worse in very dim light. Which caused me to take notice of your comments about the eye connection to vertigo.

Thanks Dr. Lin, while in the ER at the hospital in NY there were other patients who were diagnosed with vertigo. Is this condition on the rise? I have also noticed patients are at the therapy I get treated. Does food have something to do with it? eg. Shellfish, lobster, shrimp, etc. Thanks for your info. I visited the ENT last Saturday after doing some tests in the office & was told its not BPPV, which I was told at the hospital from a neurologist. The ENT specialist said there are different forms of vertigo & the one I have is Vestibular Neuritis.

Thank you, this is amazing. I think this is a better exercise or perhaps it was your articulation of information which Dr. Andrew Huberman was also discussing on his podcast regarding eye movement and physical performance.
I also think al lot of people are suffering from vertigo right now and don't even own it from habitual cell phone use while seated.
If you hold your breath and focus on keeping your core tight and everything locked in place you can feel your muscles trying to move as your eyes move... keeping your focus and holding them in place is hard, but I feel much better when I do this. Its very noticeable.

Dr. Lin I take my pink foam stick w/ a small X on it, with me as I recover from BPPV. Being very active I find different situations where a body position ie. bending over, kneeling, bike riding, leaning over and turning my head that produce a little dizziness. I then take my stick and do the forward and back motion and it establishes what I want my brain to do and immediately stops the dizziness. I believe my moving the crystals from the semicircular canals that may have built up over the years is causing my brain to reconfigure its signals from the newly cleaned out canal.
