I’m so glad I found this video!!! Thank you for this! That’s wonderful to hear! Yes, the brand Daroff is still prescribed quite often in the ER and I’m not really sure why. There are so many other techniques like the Semont that are superior. I got vertigo a week ago. Scared me tremendously as it was very intense. I did what you said in the video. The vertigo was very scary but after doing this 2x it seems to have worked and it’s been a couple days with zero vertigo. Thanks !
I had vertigo diagnosed a month ago and ended up in hospital as it was constant all day and night. I had never had it before. It came back yesterday all day and night and today most of the day with vomiting as well. I will be happy to try this, anything for fast relief from this life altering illness.
I’m so happy I found this video. I’m in the UK (though born & raised in Michigan) & have developed BPPV in the last 48 hours. My doctor here prescribed me short-term anti-sickness/dizziness tablets & gave me instructions to do the Brandt-Daroff exercise at home (3 x a day for 2 weeks!) I’ve attempted it only once this morning & have felt awful for the rest of the day. It was intense & made me want to throw up. I’m scared to try again, but I desperately want relief. I will definitely try the Semont or Epley exercises instead. Both scare me, but if they will likely give me quicker relief, I’m willing to give it one more try. I don’t like the sound of Semont bringing on intense vertigo, but I suppose that’s the price to pay… I’m in such despair.
Good luck with the maneuvers! They truly are effective when done right. And thank gosh you only have to do it one to two times ( 1 x day) versus three times a day until dizziness goes away days later
Let me know how it goes pls as same happened with my mum on friday it happened all of a sudden and then we had to call an ambulance and she was giveness anti-sickness tablets by doc and brand-Daroff exercises which we have not yet done.
I hate the intense vertigo so much, that I am too scared to try any maneuvers. I simply never lie on my left side and careful with my head movements throughout the day. It doesn’t get in the way of my daily activities as long as I am doing normal things, especially after stabilizing myself in the morning, but if I weren’t such a weenie and afraid to experience that horrible vertigo, I would try your recommended maneuvers.. I wish somebody would sedate me to sleep, then do these moves on me, But I can see that would be almost impossible to do. I need to be a willing participant! But thank you for the wonderful video. I definitely saved it, especially for friends and family..
You poor thing! I have one other client who is the exact same and the fear prevents us from trying to fix the Bppv, so we just modify lifestyle instead. 🙂

this absolutely helped me, i was diagnosed with bppv in april and my dizziness returned this past sunday and i tried this exercise. it worked wonders, thank you so much!!! i feel so much better now and if i ever have vertigo again this will be my go to exercise.
Have been suffering with vertigo for nearly two months now, at first doctor said it was labyrinthitis, then ear infection and gave me a nasal spray even though antihistamines can make me dizzy, and now possible ear crystals, am waiting on a hospital appointment for proper diagnosis but they say could be 40+ weeks for that appointment (UK, NHS waiting times). In the meantime I've tried epley which i found myself on google and it helped a little but then the doctor advised Brandt Daroff and after 4 days of that the symptoms are far worse! Previously it lasted only a few seconds up to a minute maybe but now its lasting minutes with headache and tiredness all day. Its debilitating and frightening. It hits worse when trying to drive, especially going through tunnels or when first sitting up from the exercises and the rest of the time i feel like im floating when i walk, like my head and body are floating separately. Im definitely going to to go back to the epley and try the plus move too 🤞 hopefully clear it soon! Just want to feel normal again!
Let me send you to the gaze stability videos. They are some of my earlier videos so they’re probably pretty boring to watch, but if labyrinthitis was the correct diagnosis, gaze stability exercises are going to be necessary in your recovery. With the visually triggered dizziness, like in the tunnels, it sounds like your dizziness is starting to have a multi factorial cause. It’s definitely best to have an individualized program, but some of my videos can be very helpful. If you ever want to do a virtual coaching call, I’d be happy to review your case and make some suggestions ☺️

Hello from Sweden. Just seeing your video how to get well. I have had the vertigo for a month and done similar manoeuvres but I realice after seeing your video that I haven't done them right all the way. I have the crystal in my right ear. I was told to sleep on a flat pillow on my crystal side? You showed 2 manoeuvres. Shall I do both or just pick one? Last question, I have had a light headache on same side as my crystal ear, is that common? Thank you so much for the help. I will try it later today 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Hello! I recommend choosing from the right epley, r semont, or right foster maneuver. I typically recommend doing 2-3 reps of the same maneuver waiting 15 minutes in between. if you do the epley, make sure your head is below horizontal or below the bed by 20-30 degrees. If the next day you still feel off, I would then try a different maneuver. I do have a playlist of all my BPPV maneuvers, Thank you for reaching out and good luck!
Came across your video while looking for Brandt- Daroff technique, gave it a try...my dizzyness has gone, not just Drop dead gorgeous then 😘 haha, but seriously Thank you
This is a very informative video. Thank you. Did I understand you to say that none of these three procedures will be effective for crystals in the horizontal canal? What to do then for the horizontal canal?

Thank you so much! I did the Semont plus. It is easier to performed w/ less steps. Will keep trying for a few more days. *update: after waking up the next day. I performed the Semont plus again and I can already feel it's effectiveness. I was able to go to work without feeling nausea. After work I quickly went home and do it one more time and I felt that my vertigo is gone! I reluctantly tested out by laying on my bad side (this usually gives me intense dizziness and I would break out in cold sweats) and nothing happened. I'm so surprised I was able to lay on my bad side after not being able to for almost two weeks. Thank you so much, you're a God sent! After trying so many other exercise unsuccessfully. The Semont plus worked for me perfectly. Now I can confidently cancel my appointment at the vertigo clinic.
Great! And the evidence points to its effectiveness. The foster, epley, and semont all treat posterior canal BPPV (I have a BPPV playlist if you need those options)

@@go2therock have you been diagnosed as to which ear is your affected ear? If you treated the wrong side that could make you worse. Also if you didn’t quite do the maneuver correctly, you could have converted into the horizontal canal. Doing self maneuvers are tricky and risky, it is always best to see a person, who can treat vestibular disorders if you can find one in your community
@treatdizzinessathome2023 oh, this makes me nervous. I worked on it since Saturday, and it was definitely the right side. Now I feel more of an overall dizziness, less on either side. I was doing a thoracic mobility exercise for my spine which required me to tip my head back over a foam roller. That's what triggered my vertigo. The Epley seems to mimic that same drop of my head and really messed me up.
@@go2therock it definitely sounds like BPPV. But make sure you get evaluated and diagnosed by somebody in person if you’re not sure which ear or exact technique. There are some modifications that a vestibular therapist in person may be able to to help you with

I’m 53 and have been dealing with Vertigo for 20 years. I usually get a few episodes a year that last for a few days. 95% of the time it’s in my left ear and I do the Epley maneuver, as recommended from seeing a vestibular therapist in the past, to correct it. Which works 90% of the time and subsides. For the last 6 days it was being quite bad. In bed for 2 days, Very wobbly when walking, like my head is floating. I can’t drive, looking down or tilting my head makes me spin. I know it’s on my left side so what exercise would you recommend? I’m just so afraid of making it worse if I do the wrong exercise. I am so desperate.
Hi Cathy , so sorry for what you’re going through! First, if you have a local vestibular, therapist and in person treatment is probably the most accurate way to identify that the stone is in fact in the left posterior canal and didn’t switch to a horizontal canal. And just in the past two weeks, I had two patients who have had history of PPV in the left and they had it in the opposite ear for the first time ever. So my point is, although we can assume it’s in that canal it could be a different canal this time which is why it may be more difficult to treat. I have a playlist on BPPV on my homepage which has a lot of information on different test maneuvers, including and barbecue roll for the horizontal canal and semont And Semont plus for the posterior canals. Have you tried the half somersault manoeuvre? It works for me. 8 or 9 years ago I contracted Labyrinthitis, now that really was a bugger because it's caused by a virus so there’s no cure, only tablets to treat the severe nausea. It was almost a week before I could stand up, I had to lay very still in bed because the slightest movement made the spinning start and made me vomit. I literally had to crawl to the loo. Since then I occasionally suffer the BPPV curse. I've tried several of the different exercises, as I’m sure you have, none of them give instant relief. I don't believe that any of the many RUclipsrs demonstrating BPPV exercises have personal experience of this (literally) nauseating condition.

Any idea why im dizzy even when the BVVP is cleard?
BPPV can come back. It’s estimated that 30% of people can get it back within the year of developing it. I see a lot of people that every few years they get BPPV. So definitely tune into my BPPV playlist and familiarize yourself with some of the test & maneuvers. You should always go to a vestibular therapist who is trained and not just dabbles in treatment for a thorough assessment to help you rule in or rule out BPPV as the cause. It could be Neck, It could be the crystals. It could be a couple other reasons.
Other videos say hold each position 30 seconds to a minute. Or hold until dizziness stops for 30 seconds before continuing. What do you say about hold time?
Wait until dizziness goes away and then slowly count to 30 even 60 seconds. Some people have very thick and lymphatic fluid, which takes extra time to get those crystals to move into the canal and ready for the second position. Are having a hard time clearing the crystals I always advise to to wait longer versus the shorter time of 30 seconds. Most important thing is always wait for the dizziness to go away before you start counting. ☺️

When it comes to me, as usual, none of these maneuvers help. In fact they make things much worse. In the last two months, I have had severe vertigo on three separate occasions. The longest lasted over seven hours accompanied with severe nausea. I get shorter episodes several times a day. MRI's show nothing, blood work is also normal. I know this amounts to a free roller-coaster ride, but it is far from enjoyable. At a loss why this started and hoping it reconciles soon.
If you have constant dizziness that last seven hours long that’s not BPPV. BPPV only causes a spinning sensation for 60 seconds or less. Did you get a diagnosis as to what’s causing those spells? How many do you have in your lifetime, is there any hearing issues associated with it that could indicate that the spells are actually Ménière’s disease or maybe vestibular migraines? And you are completely correct. These maneuvers do not help at all for conditions like vestibular migraine or mires and will in fact make it worse. You do have to ensure that you have BPPV when trying these home maneuvers. If your vertigo is from a different condition, these will not help. 😞

I would say if you’re having difficulties, doing it by yourself you should probably see someone in person for correct diagnosis. You have to make sure you’re treating the correctear. After the first position if it’s successful, you shouldn’t have much severe dizziness. There’s always a possibility, but if it’s consistently like that, you have to make sure you’re treating the right canal and the right ear, which is only Reliably done in person. So BPPV is generally only going to be felt when you lay into bed, roll in bed, or get out of bed. Then the rest of the day you can feel fine unless you move your head up too quickly like to look at a plane or something. So if you have symptoms in bed, you could probably benefit from doing the Epley or salon maneuvers. However, if you only feel it when you’re sitting up a little trickier, and we have to figure out exactly what’s causing that sensation, it could be a few things.
i've only had it 2 mornings when I wake up and turn to look at my clock and 1 time doing a mobility routine where i turn up to look at my rotation hand behind me.@@treatdizzinessathome2023
You may have bppv but the big position change from laying down to getting up or laying into bed might be your only trigger (which is an active case). But be careful looking up If you decide not to treat it because that could trigger it as well 😊
Had a mild but constant case for over a week now. Going on vacation in less than a week and worry it’s not going away. Will try these !! How many reps should I do ?Thanks
I have had two episodes of extreme dizziness and can’t focus which caused vomiting and last a few hours not minutes. Doc quickly advised was bppv but from reading these episodes should last a minute not hours. I tried the manoeuvres but these made me vomit more. What do you advise.
@@AudreyBrogan-d7q you are correct that BPPV does not last hours long. You definitely should be getting another opinion. Possibly from an ENT or audiologist who specializes in dizziness or vestibular therapist or the ER for imaging. There are so many diagnostics that need to be done to ensure you have the right disorder being treated.Misdiagnosis from BPPV is quite common because people who don’t specialize in vestibular disorders just pawn everything off on BPPV. Have you had an MRI and Audiology exam or seen a vestibular therapist in person?
@@treatdizzinessathome2023 , I am not sure Spain has such specialists. But I will ask to see the doc again who diagnosed. Diagnosis was purely on symptoms . No other symptoms apart from residual fatigue .
Was told I had vppv vertigo 10 yrs ago, but still trouble. Did maneuver 5 yrs ago & head doesn't spin anymore, but I am drunk headed everyday all day long. What could it be???? Please help!
Have you had an mri, VNG and seen an ear nose throat or neurologist??unfortunately you have to be seen In person to get answer with a comprehensive work up ☹️
I think you might be referring to a nystagmus. Nystagmus would be identified and documented by a VNG or videonystagmography. I’ve also had patients with cervicogenic dizziness or tightness in the muscles in the base of the neck and their eyes as well oscillate or very subtly shake back-and-forth. But a VN G would be the best way to identify and document a nystagmus, which is an involuntary motion of the eye caused by either the Brain or the ear
How do I know which ear is causing me vertigo? For example, when in bed and I roll from lying on me right side onto my left side, I get vertigenous. Is it my right ear or my left ear th at I need to address?
Hi there! Below is my playlist on BPPV. Included are videos that give you hints on how do identify which ear is causing your vertigo. I actually have a specific video called. How do I identify which ear is causing your vertigo 😃When it comes to rolling, you could be dealing with the horizontal canal. I also have a free download on how I test my clients that I suggest, maybe you download it might help give you the most accurate answer. Not sure if this is generalizable. I had clicking in my right ear for years. Not all the time. in the beginning it was only a few times a month. But recently the frequency had increased to many times every day for a few seconds each time. Just an annoyance really. I read something about popping your ear to make the clicking stop. I did that and it would work for a few hours but the clicking would always come back. Then one day I had no clicking. Same on day 2. On day 3 I awoke with severe vertigo. Did I bring it on? Not sure but the sequence of events leads me to think it's a strong maybe. The clicking has not come back. But now I am dealing with this positional vertigo. Currently I am trying to learn these various techniques to get rid of it. I would trade this for the clicking sound any day.
I'd like to try Semont exercise. After doing Brandt-Daroff 2X/day for 2 weeks (vertigo went away after the first day), I reduced to once a day after that (the last 5 days). But this morning vertigo returned during floor stretching. After that I did the B-D exercise, and only when I sat up did the spinning occur, so I don't know which side is the affected side in order to do Semont. Any suggestion?
When you lay down you need to identify which way you spin. When you sit up that could be a crystal on either side falling back into the canal. The first position (laying down) should give you dizziness if there is a crystal there. I have a full playlist on BPPV and one of the videos is how do I identify which ear has the crystals. In the pinned comments there should be a free downloaded test for BPPV as well.
@@treatdizzinessathome2023 Thx. So now after doing Semont twice vertigo is gone. Since I've had vertigo from either side since the initial episode, do you suggest as preventive maintenance doing Semont on both sides once a day, or is Brandt-Daroff better for that?

Hi. I'm in UK. I have not spoken to anyone regarding my Vertigo which came on first late December and was acute. I suffered for 3 days before it abated. Recently its returned. Its pointless for me to seek help from an HCP because the wait list is a mile long. My worst dizziness is lying in bed, head on a thin pillow and turning it to the right. I don't know which ear is involved tho in attack the room seems to spin clockwise. Is this something you can help with Amy?
Hi there! sounds like it could be BPPV of the right ear. I have many resources in my BPPV playlist including how to figure out which ear is involved, how to test and different maneuvers you can try. I also have a free download on testing for Bppv, and I have a BPPV ebook to purchase without a test and how to treat. I also coach people virtually if you need more guidance. Direct email is: Treatdizzinessathome@gmail.com if needed
Thankyou so much Amy. For coming back to me and the advice. I'm 73 yo and really get badly disorientated by Vertigo attacks. Question. Is it any detriment to try BOTH sides if not totally sure which Ear is involved? Thanks again.
In some patients yes I have used as maintenance if someone continues to develop every 2 months let say. It takes a bit to figure out how often YOU need to do them, but yes for some people I preventively used the epley, semont, or semont plus if posterior canal is involved. And the gufoni if horizontal canal is involved. This is not backed by research but purely on an individual basis and anecdotal. But my patients with recurrent BPPV seem to manage better. Have you watched my video on “ five home remedies to prevent BPPV attacks? “
Mine is always worse I. The morning after I get up and start moving around and I start getting really dizzy, usually by evening time I feel somewhat better. Also I would get dizzy when I’d move my neck, my dr says I have bppv
Vestibular issues can have multiple layers. You may have BPPV which can be treated in one to two sessions. You may also have cervicogenic dizziness because of the dizziness you feel when you move your neck. Hopefully you have a good Provider in your corner, that can help you tease out the different layers of your dizziness and give you a plan for managing your symptoms. Let me know if you have any questions or or need guidance.
@@treatdizzinessathome2023 yes my dr said I have BPPV I start physical therapy, what would be some good exercises at home I can do to help relieve my dizziness.
I had about 30 second interval of extreme vertigo 3 days ago. Since then i have had very constant head aches. Ive just done a few of the eppley exercises so far, but head is constantly hurting. I am going to try your newer method now. Have you seen others with this head ache problem ?
Headache normally does not accompany BPPV. I would always call your physician to rule out any other sinister causes of headache plus dizziness before assuming it’s Bppv. With that being said, headache plus dizzy could be vascular, migraine, or the neck got tight because of the dizziness. Are you still Having dizziness to?
I don’t think it is what you would call a normal headache. My head hurts fairly constantly and i still have some slight dizziness. I have never had migraines in the past. I had vertigo one other time a couple of years ago and i was able to rid it by doing the excercises. Tylenol does nothing to help relieve it. I am going to seek help soon as it is very constant and unrelenting.

Yes, this was one of my first videos I ever did and I really didn’t know anything about brevity😂 however I did put chapters in the description for people to easily flip to the technique. Thanks for your comment. Hopefully it helped you!
Will these exercises work for oscillating vertigo? I've been dealing with oscillating vertigo for 2 months post cruise. Saw the ENT and, after testing, said I had BPPV (left ear) and prescribed brandt daroff exercises 3xday for 3 weeks. This was almost a month ago. The symptoms have subsided a bit but not gone away completely. I still feel side to side vertigo which gets triggered when sitting and eating and when I'm working on front of the computer. Not sure what else to do at this point and it's very frustrating 😢
If you have BPPV that has been diagnosed, then I would definitely use the Epley or the semont plus maneuvers over the Brandt Daroff. However, rocking vertigo that’s rather constant but better when you’re moving Post travel might be mal De debarqment. I would need to talk to you specifically about what oscillating vertigo means to you, but there are specific exercises that can help rocking dizziness I would just need to learn a little bit more about your case. I would recommend the video on “decoding BPPV” to see if you have this condition. I’ll comment below with that links

@@treatdizzinessathome2023 thank you! I also think it's mdds and not bppv based on my symptoms. By oscillating I mean a feeling of being pulled right or left. And at the very beginning (2 months ago) i would feel very fatigue, braun fog, and like a gravitational pull down and very imbalanced. I've never felt the room spinning or anything like that and mentioned this to the doctor before all the tests. It does go away completely when I'm driving but walking sometimes exacerbates it. Should I go back to my doctor?
@@CrystalNouveauC you can make an appointment with your doctor, but I am assuming you need a vestibular rehab program and grounding program (quite effective). Medications can be complimentary but would have to be appropriately prescribed.
Hello. I have had vertigo coupled with heavy headedness since the last 4 months. It comes and goes and i had about 4 episodes which stayed for 4-5 days, more or less. I had medication and the vertigo goes away after that, but the heavy headedness remains.it usually affects the side and back of my head and It comes and goes. Sometimes i feel imbalanced while my had feels heavy also feel as if my body and brain movement are not synchronised. Feels like my body is moving faster than my head. Does this happen when you have bppv? Also my head only spins in certain positions like when i am laid on my right or on prostration during my prayer.
First, I would suggest downloading this self assessment guys to see if you do have BPpV in any of the canals customcarerehab.com/bppv-self-testing-guide-download. Second, BPPV is positional and temporary and so if you’re having dizziness constantly for 4 to 5 days that would likely be a different condition. However if its periodic and comes and goes during these 4 to five days you could be dealing with BPPV. Lastly, with the heavy headedness at the base of the skull, I think you might be having some cervicogenic dizziness. Have you watched my videos on getting rid of neck pain? As always with persistent symptoms I recommend seeing a physician to make sure you are on the right track. Hope that helps! I do have a playlist on neck, pain and cervicogenic dizziness. You could probably find some good videos there
If you have ear ringing, ear fullness, and some muffled hearing, I would always advise getting your ears cleaned for wax. It may cause dizziness, but not so much Vertigo. And never a nystagmus ☺️
I've had this since Wednesday and it has already improved from the dizziness. The only symptoms I have now are being off balance when turning my head too fast and fluid in my ear which is affecting my hearing I guess. The doctor prescribed Claritin and another medicine that starts with a m I can't think of the name right now. Since I no longer have the dizziness and just feeling off balance a little should I keep up the exercises or is everything going to clear up on its own?
Glad your symptoms are improving. If the dizziness is meclizine, read up on that medication, it does nothing for BPPV, and it will actually suppress the vestibular system. Meaning it will reduce that nerve function and can slow your recovery. It is very good for acute attacks, Ménière’s disease, vestibular, Migraine, But definitely do a little bit more research on which conditions I can be helpful for before you take it consistently. Your doctor knows your exact case so I’m sure the medication is appropriate, just do a little research before hand. 😁 as far as what to do next, if you do not have vertigo in the testing positions for BPPV you do not have to do those exercises anymore. But I would recommend starting habituation exercises like 180° turns and some gas stability exercises. I have a video on what to do for residual dizziness after BPPV.

If you are in fact, dealing with BPPV yes they would work even if you couldn’t get out of bed. You would just try to get to that first position and probably stay there 1 to 2 minutes as the video instructs. Again that is if you are dealing with BPPV which is commonly provoked by getting into and out of bed
I mainly feel it when I sit up, or looking up after looking down. From the hallpike manuver it’s not clear which ear is the problem for me. Is it bad to do the exercises both sides?
It’s very rare to have it both ears, and yes it can be bad to do the exercise for both sides in the same day. What happens roll in bed? Have you checked horizontal canal testing first? Check out my video on Do I have BPPV? And I have a free download on how to do which tests, in the exact order. In my description of this video
@@treatdizzinessathome2023thank you I will check that. You’re videos are really great. I’m quite worried I have something worse because I’ve also had unilateral tinnitus for about 12 years. Edit: yes I would say rolling to the side causes symptoms but sitting up is the most notable (maybe because laying down I feel supported by the bed). If I go out and get on with my day, walking around standing up it seems to calm down too.
Thank you. Can you let me know if we hold the epley positions and for how long. You are zipping through them. Also which part of the epley is modified? Thanks in advance
“Modified Epley” is real name of the Epley now; as it’s written in research papers and I’m just so used to calling it that ☺️ sorry for confusion! In each position, wait for dizziness to go away, then slowly count to 30 seconds. If you’re finding that you are still having dizziness with a Epley, you could even wait to 60 seconds, some peoples fluid just move slower than others.
Hello! Sorry, had trouble finding it, the links are in my page description, but you can email me at customcarerehab@gmail.com or website here customcarerehab.com/virtual-vestibular-coaching
You said that BPPV is short and doesnt last. I've had this experience, but my mom and i have also experienced that sometimes one episode "sticks" and we may be unable to get out if bed for several days. This has been described as all part of BPPV to me previously. Is that not the case? Does the length of an episode mean its maybe a different kind? Since I found the Epley, I havent been stuck like that, as it resolved on the first day usually, sometimes second.
If you lay perfectly still in bed does it go away? If it does, your dizziness is not considered Constant. Bppv is triggered the second you try to move and get up- you get your spins and then it goes away until you move your head again. If your still and the dizziness persists you likely have a different condition. My “talk dizzy to your doctor video” has some good information on this topic. I’ll try to do another video soon on what conditions cause “spells” of dizziness ☺️
@@treatdizzinessathome2023 Thank you so much for your reply! I've mostly had the ones that go away with stillness. Once, it took like 30 minutes before I felt normal, even with stillness. My mom has had several of those. It's good to understand that's a different level, and worth mentioning. I'll check out that video!
@@aravae165 ok then you could benefit from the self maneuvers. Occasionally horizontal canal BPPV can linger a bit longer. It’s more of a back and forth intense dizziness. The gufoni is preferable for horizontal canal. Epley, semont, or semont plus for BPPV in post or canal (which is most common)
One quick question have you seen for real someone who did your first maneuver a couple times in a row with waiting in between that the vertigo actually went away right away? This just seems too good to be true to be honest I'm waiting for the other Crystal to fall I guess you would say LOL
With BPPV, many times patients do feel better and just one treatment session. Not always, but it is quite common for people to feel more clearheaded, things look brighter, and just feel steadier on their feet. On the alternative, I’ve had people who felt horrible, even though they were treated successfully. I would watch my playlist on BPPV and consider watching the videos on post maneuver instructions. I’m pretty conservative and do recommend some sleeping modifications. It seems to work for my patients
@treatdizzinessathome2023 after I had did the maneuver a couple times I actually felt even a coolness in that ear not sure if that's a strange or not but now it's the next day and it still has not returned I was quite worried though going to bed I would wake up with it again so I was very careful to try to sleep and it's sitting up position actually. Can you please do a video on what even causes this or causes the crystals to move in the first place. And my last question is once you have this happen are you prone to have it happen again? And I must say I can't even believe that you respond to people's comments the way you do I have literally shared your videos with everybody I know in the past 24 hours

Hello! If you have been told no BPPV, this likely shouldn’t be done. Although, If you have some increased dizziness in these positions you could use it as a habituation exercises. Check out my video on “5 culprits of vertigo”. When someone has had constant dizziness I would assume it’s 3PD, and may be an overlay of cervicogenic dizziness. Please keep me posted on your progress😀 the science doesn’t support changing your sleep position for prevention but I do recommend sleeping 45 degrees upright for 2 nights and don’t sleep on the affected side for 2 nights because I am super conservative in my approach. But after that, your should feel comfortable to sleep your normal way. BPPV can reoccur within a year so just be mindful of going to the dentist or the hair salon and having your head back for too long. Feel free to ask more questions ☺️

The most important step is to identify if you have dizziness when your down in step one. Up could have a few causes. I don’t prefer the Brandt daroff. The epley, semont, or semont plus are going to be better options if you do have BPPV. So happy to hear!
I had vertigo diagnosed a month ago and ended up in hospital as it was constant all day and night. I had never had it before. It came back yesterday all day and night and today most of the day with vomiting as well. I will be happy to try this, anything for fast relief from this life altering illness.

Any light or sound sensitivity? Headache ? Hearing loss or changes?

Hope it works quickly !

I had BVVP 12 years ago, never had dizziness before. I could not provoke the dizziness myself when trying the maneuvers myself back then, but when my kiropraktor did the maneuver it worked. But I never got completly well after that, and I have been pretty dizzy more or less since then. I have okay balance when my eyes are open, but terrible when my eyes are closed. Now I think I got the BVVP again, since I get the episodes when i move my head where the whole room is spinning. Do the maneuvers work even if I cant provoke the spinning?

@@treatdizzinessathome2023 thank you I did receive the video. What is the treatment for vertigo and the horizontal canal💕

Do you have to be actively going through an episode. I have only had it 2 days both in the morning when I first wake up. Fine the rest of the day.

There are so many diagnostics that need to be done to ensure you have the right disorder being treated.Misdiagnosis from BPPV is quite common because people who don’t specialize in vestibular disorders just pawn everything off on BPPV.

Any hearing loss or changes associated with the spell or the dizziness?

Can you do these as a "maintenance " to avoid having a reoccurrance?

Try taking vitamins, it worked for me. Tinnitus and vertigo gone.
However if its periodic and comes and goes during these 4 to
five days you could be dealing with BPPV.
You could probably find some good videos there
Can ears clogged with ear wax cause vertigo?

Would these work when you have vertigo laying down?
Like waking up from bed, can you do these and they would still work cause you can’t get up.

Sorry to hear this 😩 has someone given you a diagnosis?
Should this be done as maintenance when I don't have vertigo if I'm prone to it?
No, there’s no evidence to suggest that maneuvers should be done for maintenance. They are only two put displaced crystals back in their “home”

No one has an answer and believe me I search almost daily. Before I do this exercise should I do it? And I was born in Toledo!
But with out knowing anything else that’s just an assumption.

Feel free to ask more questions ☺️

when i am doing the brandt-daroff from the left side i feel dizzy when i came up to 90 degrees. what you suggest?
The most important step is to identify if you have dizziness when your down in step one. Up could have a few causes. I don’t prefer the Brandt daroff. The epley, semont, or semont plus are going to be better options if you do have BPPV. Download my guide on self testing for BPPV- if you don’t have dizziness in those tests, the maneuvers in the videos would not be appropriate- and as always seek a medical professional to guide you through these tests- they need to be done very specifically to diagnose
