    I tried this after dealing with bppv for about a week. I was extremely dizzy after each step and was very nauseated for about 30 minutes after the maneuver. I felt so bad that I was worried I had just dislodged more crystals 😅. I took an hour nap and when I woke up all my vertigo was gone! Thank you very much for your very informative and helpful content!

    Great video. The only problem I have is I have tried various methods to determine which ear is the problem and I can't figure it out. They say whichever side makes you the most dizzy but the dizziness is the same no matter which way i turn my head, or the clock/counterclock method I can't tell for sure either. It usually lasts 24-72 hours. What happens if you use the wrong side. thanks.

    Do both sides need to be performed or only the side that is affected?
    My vertigo started after I started using a rebounder / trampolín 😢😢

    My vertigo lasts for months at a time only on the right. I do a maneuver where I lay on my back in bed, tilt my head at about 45 degrees and chin up to the right and hang on for dear life until it passes. It doesn’t last, I will have vertigo throughout the day, or for some miracle it just stops. This has been going on for 12 years.
    I can’t do the movements you do, as that kind of flexibility I don’t have, plus it will never work in my bed. If I dropped my head I would be in trouble.

    • @treatdizzinessathome2023
      @treatdizzinessathome2023  10 месяцев назад

      Yes, the maneuvers are somewhat difficult to do especially if you don’t have the flexibility. Have you tried the foster maneuver? It requires a different amount of flexibility, but it doesn’t require you to have your head over the edge of the bed. I do have that in my BPPV playlist of treatment options.

    I get dizzy when I sit up, after the Semont, but not when I switch to the non affected side. Does this mean it is not the posterior canal?

    • @treatdizzinessathome2023
      @treatdizzinessathome2023  2 месяца назад

      You need to be dizzy on position 1 to test positive for BPPV. If so but still getting symptoms when you sit up you might not be clearing the stone. So you can laying longer or get The head lower.

      @@RichardGoldwaterMD yes I would wonder if that maneuver isn’t the right one for you. Or you have to wait longer, or you have to get your head deeper. Seeing a therapist in person can help guide you with those modifications that are right for you and also teach you other techniquesif this one is not doing the trick.

      Are you doing the Brandt daroff or semont where you flip to then other side? Sometimes the semont doesnt work because the head isn’t deep enough, low enough, or some people need more than 30 seconds in a position. Or it’s in a different canal. If it’s not working always best to see someone in person

      If not done quite correctly essentially you could convert a stone into the horizontal canal, this would feel worse. Which requires a different treatment technique. I do have a full playlist on BPPV and different maneuvers but yes it does Carry a risk to perform self maneuvers.

I was beside myself as i had been doing very well up till then, the technician who treated me had done this one time before to no ill effect and was in the state of shock that it triggered such a violent reaction. unless your daughter can cope with such an outcome I still suggest not doing this at home. It sounds to me that she is cured thankfully. appreciate the comment tho
