Mercedes M111 Valve Covers, What's so different?

In this video I explain the differences between the Mercedes Benz 180 200 220 230 and Kompressor valve covers and give an idea how you can clean your engine bay up, these valve covers are cheap and easy to come across time and cost effective methods to tidy up your Mercedes 2.0 2.3 Kompressor.

The older ones having the breather port by the cap pull in alot less oil through as the gases go through the entire track of baffles,
Some of them randomly do have bolts underneath to remove the baffles allowing you to clean them properly tho others are just fitted and peened over stopping removal

Unfortunately I've not found one with the bolts, but I could really do with one. I think with the build I want two breather ports based on what a lot of higher power M111s have, there's a common theme so I think I will do that, obviously the baffle makes that a bit of an issue

Please I have the m111 Evo engine in my MB,brain box got damaged,it was changed then the engine starts to hesitate, thermostat switch has been changed did not work,map air flow sensor changed start hesitation even fuel pump plus fuel filter changed same problem,what do you think can cause it and the solution?

Following this rebuild series with interest, I have a M111.983 in the garage that I need to prep. Do you have a link to an engine manual at all? Also who is your go-to for OEM parts?

I use Listers Mercedes at Lincoln fair prices and the customer service is great doesn't matter if you buy a £5 gasket or £200,000 s class they treat everyone equally as well 👍 I don't have a link to a manual unfortunately as I use MBs WIS which is part of the SDS diagnostic system

I got me a good and fresh painted Evo Cover and only thought about the camshaft sensor, I just hided it. But the problem was the spark coil mountings, fixed that too. But now I have the problem, that the Vent dont blows any air into my oil catch tank :(
Do you have an idea?

Are the intake cams different to go with the repositioned cam sensor? Also, why VAG coil on plug vs standard M111 Evo coil on plug coils? Are there differences?

I’ve gone through 3 sets of stock coils on plugs, the plastics broke everytime and spark was arcing to cylinder head,
Now running wasted spark much more better, plus cleans emissions as burns any leftovers inside exhaust 🤞

Vag coils are easier to get specs for with dwell times and things like that when running standalone ECUs also they're cheap and you can get hold of loom plugs to make the wiring neat and tidy, I believe there is a difference between the cams for the pick up, however the specs of the camshafts are different I did have them notes down somewhere I will try to find them, moved house so everything is t where it should be 🤣
