Mini Cooper Leaking Oil? Finding This Hidden Leak
Carries 2007 R56 mini cooper 1.6 has a bad oil leak and a lot more problems, the vacuum pump leaks oil the sump leaks oil and possibly the crank main seal on the front, it's MOT time but if it's that bad, why do we not scrap it?

again, awesome video. question, are your extra air box holes sucking in hot air?
good evening from Italy, before asking my question I wanted to thank you for all the research and suggestions provided through the channel; I also bought the vacuum-actuated bypass valve, before installing it I did some pressure tightness tests: I noticed that it is not absolutely watertight and that it leaks air from the sides even when applying low pressure. Is this phenomenon normal and therefore negligible? does the same thing happen to you? what do you think? thanks again for your commitment!
Also how do I establish how much delay is necessary to apply to the vacuum circuit? thx
Brother how much should i torque the head on the m111 with arps is it really 129nm?
@@LYDN26 tighten in 3 equal stages up to a maximum torque of 129nm, it's the only info I have had access too and that's from 202 store so I do trust what they say
How do I remove the top bolt on the alternator
@@byronbaird7395 does yours have A/c or not? It's a little easier as you can get it from the top in no A/c versions, however I just used a spanner on mine it is very tight to get from the underside, but the biggest challenge will be the nut on the back side of the alternator it's a challenge to get back in place
What exhaust is that?
@@MulishaTank it's just a eBay 2.5 inch round muffler with a twin square exit tip and standard tubular headers
you opened the throttle blade to show the path of the air..(aligned with cyl 3 and 4.)......but what about the opposite side of the blade that also opens up to the "outside"the same amount.....air is also being forced in there.......aligned with cyl 1 and 2..........AND .....what about the fact that the pressure in the intake is everywhere the same regardless of where it enters....the pressure is the same....its the intake valve that dictates where the air is being sent in........my 2c........i would say injector faulty/dirty/not match flowed?
Thats gonna be me who just bought a c230 manual COUPE with 270k miles on it for $500 and just needs a clutch but stil drives in 3rd n 4th 🫠

W220 owner here. Yes they are reliable. As long as you take care of them the only repairs are the airmatic suspention. Other then that drives me everywhere. Oh and as long as the previouse onwer didnt try and work on it them selves and fuck evrything up. Just bought a R170 with litteraly everything BUT the top dash cover, broken in every single mounting point and everything screwed tpgether by wood screws. Including the door panels and center console..... you can only imagine hoe upset, pissed off, and hurt i was to see all that 😕
I have a 2002 Mercedes c230 kompressor 2dr sport coupe with the m111 2.3l. I have a supercharger pulley, ported and polished supercharger, stainless steel catback, stage 1 tune from OETUNING, Custom cold air intake with old separator removed. Should I get the 384cc injectors or those big boys? I am getting obx headers soon with mid pipe as well and a stage 2 tune!
Just had the same problem on my W215 CL500 - I'd called out the RAC they read the OBD port - indicated teh pebal - you're video came up I'll order a pedal from W220 tomorrow thanks a lot this should save me a wad of cash😁

Ugg that's what I'm not sure about seeping oil. I'm not sure bc I don't see it seeping ugg idk what is really going on I definitely know my oil way to HOT ! Ugg code so many different things idk ugg I do have oil 1 of my plugs ugg smh thank you I had my mini for a long time 13 years they do have bad wrap ! I was lucky I guess bc so many people say you don't want one they're terrible they're a nightmare!
@@tm5346 just like any car you get good ones and bad ones, this has been a good little car for the past 7 years, they're just not the easiest to work on, but there's not many cars you can pull the front off in like 15 mins. Just like smart cars they had limited space to work with, but the Peugeot prince engine is a flawed engine unfortunately prone to oil starvation issues and leaks, what fault codes do you have? If there is oil in either of the sensor plugs the sensor needs replacing nice easy job, most common oil leaks on these are vacuum pump, valve cover gasket, oil filter housing gasket (that's not a fun job) and the camshaft solenoid on the belt side of the engine. The water pumps are apparently difficult to do on these and I did it on this one in an hour and a half, I think the biggest thing is understanding how BMW designed these to be worked on but they are fun little cars.

Igg I've had mini for years I did buy used 2013 just the PCV belt and that's not the problem it was perfect! Idk I did oil change I did buy ox sensor I've watched videos code cleared I just freaked out when I got one I didn't order 2 oxygen sensors! Ugg I didn't see video until of course tooO late I I'm wondering if the it either this or a ring I'm hoping it's one of. Them oxygen sensor catalytic was the code thank you for your video! My Son's Mercedes caught on fire! I can't believe it lol 2017 smh so it could be worse we laughed thank goodness for insurance! Or it would be SAD!

@@angelaldacoaa from what I've seen you can fit these panels and lights the earlier model and the actual underbody stayed the same and quarters, there's a guy in Germany that did it I believe. But they are a great little cars 👍
@M-oneeleven-M111 yeah that was my theory now the only hard part is getting those panels and all that over here
@@angelaldacoaa True as I think the w204 has a different front end structure so it's not got the same bolt patterns, but there maybe away it's worth researching, I would quite like to do the conversion as I prefer the M111 engine to the M271.
@@M-oneeleven-M111I know i seen a video of one that says it was converted to the clc body uploaded by hristo kirov but not a video on how it was done. But it probly wont be possible for me since i cant even get my hands on body panels and all that
Hi. I know this is old news for you now but did you ever get the system working to your liking? I am having difficulty getting my clk working. I think the problem is the ECU, I have replaced the Mosfet but no joy so I have now drilled and fixed the compressor clutch to be constantly working, with a smaller puley waiting to be fitted when I can get the bypass valve working. At the moment I am trying to get it working with a BOV but so far no joy there also. This weekend I will make up a vacume delay circuit as you made for your BPV but at the moment it is looking like my best option is going to be do a copy of your BPV. If you have any more info which can help I would be very grateful!!
@@jamesallner1638 I did get it working almost exactly as the stock bypass Valve worked, it takes some setting up but by using the check valves to create one way flow and the boost controller to slow the flow of vacuum, the allows the bypass Valve to close slowly I think it was. Obviously with this being so long ago it's hard to remember exactly what I did, but this was a 51mm exhaust bypass valve, I did do a few videos on this project. Basically it offers no performance gain but I shared it more so for your exact situation, basically the bypass valve needs to operate smoothly and, I think it was open fast and close slowly, it it shuts too fast the ECU trips over itself. NDRmini got a BOV to work but I have never had such success with the standard management, however with a vacuum delay circuit one may work. I hope this helps 👍
@@M-oneeleven-M111 Thanks for your quick reply. It does help a lot. It's the same problem I am having with the BOV. Too much draw when you open the throttle causing the BOV to open when you want it to close, then suddenly closing when the compressor catches up giving the engine too much boost suddenly. I will see what I can do with the check valves and controller, but I think I will probably end up doing it your way. The BOV sounds horrible and low revs. 😆 And you fit the controller on the negative pressure side of the system? That's what I was thinking, full pressure on the positive side to keep the BOV closed and the controller on the negative to moderate the opening on part throttle.
Is there anyway to fix these rear buttons , all I can find is ways to replace them.
@@neilcarroll4579 more often than not replacement is the only option unfortunately, to be fair this one's was a cheap enough fix. Granted it's not OE quality it was a good fit for the price.

How effective is that of controller on a slk32 amg for example? Is it worth getting the TCU tune instead or going for this ?
personally it's quite hard to say I would sway towards the TCU tune, it's not that Ofgear isn't worth it, actually it's well worth it and awesome to have so much control, however it's very difficult to get set up right without knowing exactly what your doing and if you get it wrong it's your transmission that pays the price. with a TCU tune there's less likelihood of damage to the transmission but I have heard negative comments about harsh shifts from TCU tunes but either of these options will make the shifts feel harsher. but like I say ide lean towards a tune on a sort of stock configuration car.

Hello friend i have a question since you seem pretty much the most experienced M111 turbo'r, do you reckon 300 hp is a realistic figure to do on stock internals without it blowing up over and over? i would like to match a 350 SLK r171 with 306hp, the weight advantage of the R170 might help it match the R171 at 290-300 hp? Would you recommend getting the v6 320 instead and upgrading that?

Please tell us why you took the m104.942 2.8L. 606 engine with a crankshaft, you increased the crankshaft stroke to 92mm. Connecting rods from the M102 engine, shorter in size ? Than in 2.8? What if we take the m104.980 3.0 engine to build a turbo.
@@arrondedkaufman2260 2.8 M104s are more readily available, OM606 stroke is 84mm, this crankshaft is actually stamped 104 meaning it's a M104 3.2 crankshaft it was just fitted in a om606. From this time frame many of their engines shared components. The M102 rods are 145mm these are the same as what you would find in a standard m104 3.2 and m103, the standard M104 2.8 rods are actually M111 rods that measure 149mm, so to be able to swap the crankshaft shorter rods are required so that the piston doesn't hit the head. So basically it will just become a standard M104 3.2. The M104 3.0 is the ideal engine to start with though is slightly more difficult to work with electronically as it's basically a M103 bottom end with a updated head. The M104 3.0 has the strongest internals best pistons and also an ideal compression ratio for a turbo conversion compared to all other M104s, however they cost more to buy as they're more sought after than any other M104 excluding the AMG, brabus, and Carlsson variants.
