    Will the 2.2 engine run with just the engine wiring harness…

      5.0 m113 engines will take boost then there AMG Kompressor variants which came with a supercharger these can also be converted to turbo and there are companies offering parts for this. the only one that can't really take a turbo is the 4.3 however they can take a supercharger low boost which if I remember right takes them to 350hp the main issue is with turbo conversions on the m113 is you have to rotate the intake manifold to make life easier and relocate/delete the smog pump, if I remember right JMSpeedshop on RUclips is building a turbo M113 and has some great videos on it.

      @@wou73r77 That's awesome to know buddy thank you, that makes total sense.. I know a bit about how the partner program works but this to start with was always something for the community, obviously monetisation would be great but I started the channel during the first lock down here in the UK. Basically long story short COVID made my workplace shut its doors and I went on the UK furlough scheme (not by choice) I didn't like not working so the channel and SlK forum became a way for me to be productive, helping the community also helped my mental state, it made me feel good and positive. With so fewer knowledgeable folks sharing how to tune this engine it made me more determined to learn what was needed and share it with everyone I could. I never expect to earn anything from RUclips as the amount per click would only be very small and my channel traffic remains small. But just getting it out there lighting that spark in people to see the potential of this awesome engine, getting to share my passion. I'm fortunate my daily job is working with prestige and classic motorcycles, hence my second channel I love being able to keep this as a hobby. But who knows what the future holds, the other issue I have is everything is done on my phone and it struggles to process above 11minute videos it will do it but the voice sometimes goes out of sync

    I have a quick question. i own two M111 engine kompressor. A C230 & a SKL230. My C230, started sputtering out on me to the point it stopped turning on. After inspecting the car, i found to my surprise that the air flow sensor was filled with what looked like sludge with water. i took it off cleaned it and cleaned all the air pipes, and also hosed out the intercooler. What i did notice was that the black box on top of the engine, that goes connected to the valve cover vent, was filled with that sludge. i eliminated the box and left the valve cover vent open. Car starts and runs. My main two questions are, if you can help me with your knowledge. At the moment i deleted the intercooler from the right side where the maff airflow sensor is, because it was sucking up water from the cleaning i gave the intercooler and the air flow sensor was not reading right. I can drive the car with the intercooler deleted on that side right. All it really does its just send cooler air through the air flow mass sensor into the throttle body, and intake manifold.
    My last question is, that my reservoir and I'm assuming my cooling system is contaminated, because inside the reservoir I have that sludge looking thing. But my engine its not contaminated with coolant, because I have done oil changes and just oil comes out.
    PLS HELP. Thank You.

      hi sorry for the late response I don't get notifications sometimes, if I were you I would either plumb in a catch can or put a breather filter on the valve cover so you don't get grit in your valve cover, there is a baffle but it's still possible, however I recommend a catch can to prevent oil dripping onto the exhaust as that little black box is a swirl pot that Separate the oil from the breather gasses, unfortunately it does a terrible job of it and tends to fill the intake as you have found with emulsified oil sludge.
      as for the intercooler are you running it with basically a air filter on the throttle body pipe where the Maf is or have you bypassed the intercooler and still running boost? if the intercooler is bypassed and running boost you definitely risk damaging the engine as the supercharger increases intake air temps substantially, however if your running it as a Naturally aspirated engine with a air filter on the Maf pipe that's fine aslong as the supercharger clutch pulley is unplugged this disables the supercharger, if you don't do that the supercharger just pressurises or blows through the unused intercooler. I personally use brake cleaner on intercoolers and electrical contact cleaner on the Maf sensors when they become contaminated. but brake cleaner must be thoroughly aired out before refitting the intercooler as it acts like fuel, but also has the ability to evaporate. I hope that helps

      @@M-oneeleven-M111 Hello, thank you so much for your response. Really appreciate it. So from that day to now, i reinstalled everything back how it goes, with the exception of the valve cover vent. Will install a breather. Car back up and running with the exception that, i believe my bypass valve has never worked how it should. Take off and hard acceleration is so slow, that the car revs up but car hardly accelerates, as if it struggles or the bypass valve isn't closing. I had my friend look at the flap as i accelerated, to see if the flap would close, and he said it stayed open. From what i saw in one of your videos that you made about it the bypass valve, its suppose to close when you hit the throttle. On my SLK230, its a whole different thing. Car takes off awesome and you can feel the power from the Kompressor, but on my W202 nothing in comparesent, as if they were two different engines, despite both having the same M111 engine. Sorry for the bother, but you look like someone that knows about theses engines, and love your content.

    I have two cars with M111 engines, an R170 and an S203. I adore MB's Kompressor, it's a terrible shame that they stopped the long and great tradition of fitting superchargers to their engines as they've been brilliant at it. Nothing really fills the gap these cars left on the market. Is there another small family estate or a folding hardtop convertible with reliable and economical supercharged engines?

    • @M-oneeleven-M111
      @M-oneeleven-M111  10 месяцев назад +1

      I agree you can't beat these things, on my way into work today I followed a absolutely immaculate clk230 in burgundy it felt great seeing a well cherished example. These engines are very capable and with a larger capacity supercharger could not only be nearly double stock hp but fantastic fun and reliable. However a stock one is just straight up reliable and will go one over 300k quite happily. Mercedes really excelled during this time period 👍

      @@M-oneeleven-M111 Talking of reliability, the C200K estate has a misfire on cylinder 1 and 4… I can’t figure out what it is, the car has done 79k, I’ve just done the oil, filters, plugs… Facepalm

    • @M-oneeleven-M111
      @M-oneeleven-M111  10 месяцев назад

      did it have a misfire before you did the plugs? sometimes it can be a failing crankshaft position sensor, does the engine labour to start or does it fire up pretty quickly then start misfiring?

    • @ComeJesusChrist
      @ComeJesusChrist 10 месяцев назад

      @@M-oneeleven-M111 Hi, I accidentally overlooked your reply, thanks very much for taking your time to respond. The C200K had the engine management light on and the fuel consumption was pretty poor, but the misfire after started after I changed the Mass Airflow Sensor, the oil and filters. The car starts fine, drives fine, then the misfire starts after a mile or so. It even crossed my mind if I made a mistake with the oil filter and if there is air in it. I’m just an eager amateur on a budget, I cannot rule out that I made a mistake somewhere. It also puzzles me why it is cylinders 1 and 4, they are not even on the same cable. I installed new spark plugs (my first time doing this), swapped the old and new ones around with the coils, but still had the same fault codes. I bought a cheap compression test kit, I may give it a go, but it is very odd. It’s a shame, because the car even has a recent National Trust sticker and only 79k miles with full history until recently.

    Hello i have a question for you. Why does m111 lose power in top end and why everyone is saying that it wont be a good idea going over 6000 rpm? I really want to move my limiter up, but i fear i wont get any good results whitout figuring out the issue. I mean its a short stroke engine and 6k is very low. Is it valve springs?

    • @M-oneeleven-M111
      @M-oneeleven-M111  11 месяцев назад

      Hi, so the m111 loses power up the top end due to the head flow, however on a stock Kompressor car you can gain more top end from a custom intake set up the stock airbox design restricts the intake to about 50mm. As for the not revving them so high this is due to valve float, as the engine was never designed to be a high performance motor it is single fairly light duty valve springs which at higher RPMs struggle to maintain control over the valves, however there are now dual valve springs with upgraded retainers on the market which will help lift that rev limit. The other factor is the very heavy duty crankshaft which is not really designed for high RPMs of course though with modification all these things can be fixed 👍

    • @user-hn1zt6op3j
      @user-hn1zt6op3j 11 месяцев назад

      Very interesting! So you mean that the intake box is restrictive or the intake manifold? Because im working on a completely custom intake system because i wired my supercharger to a button and as you would guess car barely runs whitout the sc. Meaning i will only need valve springs since i plan on skipping crankshaft work because money. Then im good to remap? Will fuel system handle? Btw thanks man you are helping me out so much!
