If you couldn’t tell I’m really into this thing! After years of soft BMWs and styling changes that have taken me awhile to come around to, I’m really digging this thing! This engine and mild hybrid system trying is a masterpiece of engineering. By the way - the key is gone forever! I couldn’t shut the car off until it went back to BMW - thankfully it was only running for about 10 minutes. I can’t believe I have the exact spot where the key fell and it was nowhere to be found!! Anyway, thanks for watching as always. Here’s the video timestamp breakdown if you want to jump to a section. Thanks for the great review. I have mine ordered since last fall and when my car came in it also had manual seats despite being highly specced. These initial launch cars all have manual seats. I deferred and ordered an identical car which is slated for March delivery and fingers crossed for my electric seats.
That's funny. The moment you took off, I was "key on the roof, key on the roof". I'm surprised that the car doesn't tell you it is out of range of the key. Honda and Lexus does. Annoyingly so.
At 5:59 I can see the key on the roof 😀 it’s going to be a thriller to see what happens next 😀 Update:so the key is lost forever…this is why I hate those keys, the real actual ignition key was better, you couldn’t start the car without it…
manual seats may have to do because of chip shortage... also BMW touch screens are being affected and will not be delivered with touch sensitive displays due to the chip shortage on a lot of BMW models.
My car was just built last Friday. Currently waiting for the boat to ship to the U.S. I’m figuring about 60 days before it’s in my driveway. I also have the San remo green with the light beige interior. This is my first BMW. Mine has the blue calipers and the 19in 860 style with performance zp. Thanks for the review.
By the way. Mine has power seats. I’m looking at the spec sheet on my build here currently. It was actually built June 28. I sat in a 430i GC about a week ago. Most comfortable car I’ve every sat in.
This petrol 6 cylinder is incredible. You could quite easily drive 550mi per tank. Maybe even 600 miles. That is diesel efficiency from a few years ago.
Pretty nice. Too me That grill only works with a front tag to break it up. Infinity has been doing that mild hybrid system forever and can transition to electric only under cruise or light load. My Q50S hybrid manages 32 combined with normal driving.
Manual seats was a factory mistake. It won't be on any other gran coupes outside of the first shipments. The performance tire/cooling package comes with a larger cooling fan, an extra oil cooler, and larger breaks. And I think there are a couple videos out there hitting 4 seconds flat for 0-60. They definitely undersold on the speed.
@@streetsweeper49 It was a mistake. The product manager ordered the first 12,000 to be with manual seats. The touchscreen is what they removed due to the shortage. That's why all ordered after the first shipment will have power seats. I know this because I purchased one and told about the issue and what caused it.
I just purchased the 2023 in this car over the weekend. I am Freaking bomb that I have to leave it locked in my garage to travel out of state for work.
@@bzgent I love the car! I am sad that I only got to drive it for one day in the last two weeks. I travel for work, it’s parked in my garage at home while I am away driving a rental. When I get home next week I will drive for an entire day. I don’t care whether I have no where to go or not I will drive that sucker 😀😀
Great review! Coming from a BMW ActiveHybrid3 (mild hybrid up to 44mph), when I transitioned to a 7 series.. was disappointed. Proceeded to order my M440i, will be selling the 7 series when it arrives. Can't wait to drive this thing, love how you showed the mountain driving.
I once drove home with my phone on the roof of my car and it didn’t fall off. i was in the highway and everything. It’s crazy. I had a good case on it I guess
I really like BMW's but they've always been quite the maintenance beasts. If you buy and try to keep long term, you're always doing expensive proactive fluid flushes to stave off even costlier repairs. Leasing would make it fun. I'd also love to see them go back to some smaller and lighter models. The 2 series today is the size of yesterdays 3 series and they just keep getting bigger.
All bmw,'s have that start stop system. Most drivers ( include me ) hate it and shut off that system. Its developed to safe fuell ( environment) but we think its bad for the start engine and battery. What I hate at most is : when the engine shut of for the lights waiting for green. And it cost a little time, the engine start fom it selve becouse the Electric power ( start/stop) is done. And that is verry anoying when you have your thoughts sofware else. The more you use the airconditioning the earyler the car start fom it selve. I would say shut it off, its anoying bad for the car and brings the dealer a lot money by exchanging the start engine. I did asked the dealer and he just says nah.... the car is builď for that system. Also the battery is more expensive because its developed to safe and get loaded by return some energy by using the brakes.
Love your BMW video but tried finding other videos I’d watch and all of your content is on EV’s so therefore I cant subscribe since that’s not in my future at this point.
After driving an EV for 4 years, I can’t go back to ice. Green color is attractive, but front grill is hideous. Manual seats clearly is a mistake at $68K.
$70K and you get manual seats and no rear heated seats? Don't tell me it's to save a few lbs as if this is some racing exotic. Most $25 K cars are better equipped. Nice car but you just can't charge luxury prices for no luxury.
If you believe that ICE cars have a place in the foreseeable future, you must vote for elected officials who agree with that. California’s political machine certainly doesn’t agree with that - and their agenda shapes everyone else’s agenda - so your work is cut out for you!

Now that is a true keyless car...
Wow, that BMW M440i GC is an absolute demon on the twisties! What a fun video Kyle, this is the joy of spirited driving caught on video!
😱The Key😧
The San Remo Green looks 🔥! Good review Kyle and Gery.
The grill is a dealbreaker.
Nice! Now we gotta get you in an i4 M50!

The i4 M50 will be awesome, hopefully you'll get it as soon as possible. Are you excited for it?

It’s not a mistake, it’s because of the chip shortage they just shipped these with manual seats.

Oh man, I got through about 6 minutes until I saw the key, and then read your pinned comment. I’m sorry bro, that sucks!
Color & styling absolutely stunning.... would love to see it after a wash & wax.
Here for the EV stuff but your videos are so good I watch the combustion ones too. Take care all
Very good review! Thanks. I just ordered similar spec and in fact the same colour; your review made me very happy. I forgot about the key too 😂

Manual seat was due to chip shortage. They now come with power seats
Isn’t that perforated Sensatec, which is a synthetic leather?
Manual seats in some areas was due to the chip shortage at that time .
god. his intro reminds me so much of shmee... all the time! :)

Great review. Could easily tell you enjoyed it.
Thanks for the informative video I would like to know your opinion about getting m240 or m440 if I don’t care about rear seats
How’s the body roll on this car. Seems like it handles pretty good but is the steering communicative.
What did you do at bmw?
I think only the prototypes have manual seats. Production models will have automated seats.
How does it compare to the i4?
We haven’t tested the i4 yet. Hopefully soon!
Just heads up. There is a manual adjustment seats because of the chip shortage
How's this compared to AMG E53 coupe?
What a fun car! How does it compares to the f36 440i, since both have the b58. I've heard many good things about the old gen's chassis as well.
What do you like better m440 Gran coupe or M340
My current debate. An available M440i or a dream of a 340i eventually. Damn shortage
I ordered a 440GC that was supposed to go into production in early March and it still just says schedule for production.
So would you take this over the i4, which is pretty much the same car with a different powertrain?
Any chance we get a review of the 430i? Only see 440 reviews
What was the fuel consumption of this 386 hp engine during sport drive?
Probably in the teens like many of these sport sedans.

Did I just see manual drivers seat on a bmw let alone on a m440i??
Kyle, you lost the Keyes at 6:23; if you can trace your steps to this location, It’ll be there.
We had the team searching this entire stretch of roadway and could never find them!
i fcks wit ur videos bro
The red brakes are a no go option. I am really over colored brake calipers in general. Black or Silver only for me.

This has Toyota approved b58 engine. So it's going to be reliable
EPA ratings just suck!

Your wind mic destroyed your vid. I stopped watching after 3:16.

That and fake leather seats.
Would buy BUT grill
The m340i weighs about 300-400lbs less. That one seems sportier
I’ve got a keyless system in my car that won’t let me start the engine if the key isn’t present in the car. What a stupid car is that beemer.
Just never mind how Kyle drives 50+ MPH over the posted speed limit.... "Gosh, officer, I wasn't doing THAT much more than double the speed limit...."
