- The M440i gets something new from BMW for 2022. Now a BMW enthusiast can option a RWD setup. On the outside you will discover the still controversial front grill, optional M Performance wheels, upgraded exhaust and full LED lighting. On the inside you will be greeted by a leather interior, seating for three passengers, and a digital dash. Under the hood is a 3.0L turbocharged inline-6 that produces 382HP & mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Is the NEW 2022 BMW M440i a BETTER performance car than a Toyota Supra?

Hey Joe and Lori (and everyone else who read this comment) how are y'all.
You have been killing it with the Germans and Italian cars reviews recently (especially with Mercedes and BMW).
But not only that you and Lori killed today (like always), with the review of the Dodge Viper (that was more of BTS (behind the Scenes) and you had a funny blooper and now the BMW 4 series.
But you don't only bring Germans and Italians cars, you also post crazily insane vehicles like today's Insane Dodge viper ACR Extreme and the Ford F-250 (which you need a ladder to reach the door).
But overall thanks you for posting fun and (mostly) Insane vehicles, but we can't only thanks you, we also have to give credit to the best camera woman on RUclips.
And overall y'all two guys were meant for each other and I'm happy that y'all guys are such a good couple.

Recently ordered the 2022 M440i Gran Coupe. Would love to see a review of that Raiti! Same power plant under the hood, but all wheel drive, 4drs, and a hatch!! Talk about practicality and performance. As a new dad, this car was a no brainer for me.

Supra is a legend. Most car enthusiasts miss the car since it was gone. No one will ever miss the 4 series, especially its grills.
The Supra is faster, BMW has more luxury. Whatever floats your boat. I think the Toyota has better resale value.

Salutations Joe! Love your videos.... random question, but I was always told never to let a brand new car rev over a certain amount of RPMs until you break it in after a few hundred miles. Watching your and other car reviews seems to break that rule, so is breaking in your car a myth or are newer cars these days not needing that? Thanks!
That color is gorgeous! I’d change the caliper color to bronze tho. The red doesn’t work with that green.

The first thing that struck me with this M440i is that great throwback green color. Talk about an homage to the late 60s muscle car colors! Awesome!

The Supra is incredible. I adore mine. I'm assuming the M440 is more aimed at comfort and being a GT car. So no, I think the Supra would have the performance edge. Slightly.

Nice review Joe and Lori! I have the M440 I Gran Coupe on order. Dealer emailed me it’s being produced 3rd wk of Jan. In person the front looks better in my option.
My buddy just got a 2022 BMW Z4 M40i Misano Blue with all the bell’s and whistles and optional 19 inch gloss black rim’s with the full gloss black kidney grill’s and let me tell you that car is so fun to drive and it alway’s turns head’s no matter where you go or where you are.
Funny enough, that's the same color as my Refraction Blue Supra. Saw a Misano Blue Z4 the other day, looked great!

Nice review, I'm currently waiting for one in tanzanite blue, and I did think about the supra, and also m440i xDrive, but finally chose the sdrive. Will be my first car in 8 years, and first ever New car in my life, I'm really excited!
those calipers have to be yellow to make sense with the green. might also have to black out the backlights. the interior goes perfect tho
Joe - I think BMW is being very conservative with their horsepower numbers. If this 3,800 lbs car goes 0-60 in 3.7 seconds, it has more than 382 HP.
Also, the Supra probably does handle better because it's 500 pounds lighter. And it has wider tires all around.
Love that vehicle and while I love the Supra, I think this would be a more practical daily driver that you could still have a lot of fun with and might be a bit better suited for a road trip with the additional space

I don't know, if I'm going to spend an over-sized chunk of change on a BMW-powered vehicle, I'm going BMW. In my eyes, this looks superior to a Supra. That green really pops! Lol, I'd also beg for an analog instrument clustering you've actually got money left over from the purchase, why not just throw the better tires on it, and call it a day?

Carbon fiber bits on cars seem like a waste of money. Yeah, they look good, but you aren't saving any appreciable weight over the same plastic piece, which to me is the point of carbon fiber. I still like it, but don't get it. Excellent review as always.

I actually like the 440i grille better than the m4 grille. the lines flow better on the side air inlets where they look like they were designed at the same time. on the M model it looks like a storm trooper and a beaver each wanted their own distinct input on the front end and couldn't agree
Actually the supra sounds a lot better in sport mode. More crackles and pops especially on down shifting. And the grille is unforgivable on this bmw. Plus the supra is a lot more rare to see.

I do like the new 4 Series but the M4 Comp Grill looks 10 times better! Wish they would make that an option like they did with the black Kidney's on the M340's. Great Review as always.

Alright this car is dope was surprised by fuel economy. But for $10K less you can have an Audi S5 which is def more reliable as a daily

Good review Joe! But the Z4 competes with a Supra. This goes against then S5/C43.
How does a convertible Z4 compete with a coupe Supra, but a coupe BMW doesn't???
@@dannyd7714 The Z4 and Supra are 2-seaters and the wheelbase and length of the Z4 and Supra are almost identical. The 4 coupe still has a backseat. For sure they share the same engine but they're two different buyers.
