I'm glad you mentioned that you were 6'3. It gives a lot of perspective on to the size of the back seats as well as how comfortable the car is in general for a taller person like myself. Thank you for your insight.
Thing I like about the 4 Series, and it’s the most minor of minor points. The HK system has the badge on the tweeters in the 4. On the 3, the badges are buried down on the door and you can barely see them #image
In reference to the sound, I'm not even sure if it's that much more muted, especially from the outside. I only realised how loud the B58 in my M140i was in the underground Asda car park last night, it's stupidly loud, and louder than my old 330i's Scorpion exhaust! Inside yeah, it's a much quieter experience, but you're right, it sounds just as great as my E46 did. If I ever do replace the 140i (it's a manual so I'm holding on for as long as I can) it would probably be the M340i estate though, I just think it looks better. I think I'd even like xDrive this time of year as I haven't been able to put my 140i's power down in anything less than third gear this month. 😅
In the US, sort of forced to get the 4 because I really want the Parking Assistance Package; mainly because of Drive Recorder. It’s available on the 2 and 4; but not the 3. Have always had front/back dash cams in my car. Now it’ll be a built in feature that’s more elegant than third party cams, which hopefully works ok. Anyways, not my only deciding factor; did test drive the m340 and m440 and just liked the way the m440 handled a lot more.
Good review, but: A. There is not much classic BMW about this car. B. Stop saying the Coupé is a 3 door car. It only has 2, because it’s not a hatchback.
Lots of comments that this is an ugly car… My verdict is still out in the looks but initially I think it looks good, probably better in the flesh. I have another car choice conundrum for you now you’ve driven this… You have a choice of 3 cars; an i4 (the hot version), a 340d touring and this M440i. You will own the car for ~4 years and your life situation will be the same as it is now (small humans etc), except you are now beyond the requirements of prams and huge child seats - which would you choose? Cheers as always Tim - hope you enjoy the test drives as much as we enjoy the videos
Totally agree! 👍 I think the Grille is far more 'proportionate' in person. It really is refreshing to see a Gran Coupe style car actually look so aggressive than the miserable frowny-faced sleeper that is the new Mercedes CLS!
So glad someone has sense among all the 12 year old kids crying ''beaver teeth!!1'' out there unable to see what an Aggressive Car does is 'bare it's sporty teeth'. It's so much better and imposing with that Upright large grille than the outgoing -three series- ahem I mean Gran Coupe. Tons more road presence!
@@TimRodieDrivesStuff I am currently in the market for a new bmw and wanted the 4 series grand coupe (non-M). the dealership said they will not be introducing an xdrive in this model for 2022. (at least in the US)
That front 🤣 "We're ok with it now", hate to break it to you Tim but 🤮 In years to come people will still point and laugh at it but given BMW's penchant for plastic engine parts it won't be many years.
@@unowen-nh9ov Because crooks and thieves feed from the same trough. They know that general idiot doesn't know anything about modern car obsolescence and parts bin sharing.
Ugly and weird looking, I’ll be surprised if these things sell in anywhere near the numbers that the previous generation did. Why would anyone buy this over a 3 series? And that coming from someone who opted for the previous generation over a 3 series!
The taillights the only reason for me, I’ll be hiding the grill as much as possible and having it in all black but only option with 5 door and then taillights.
I'm sorry but I just can't go pass that grille. The 2 Coupé, 3, 5, 8, X3, X5 are good looking. But the BMW designer needs to be fired for his crimes against car design and humanity with this/M4, 7, X4, X6, X7, i4 and worst of all, maybe the most disproportionate car I've ever seen... the Pontiac Aztek... oops I mean Fiat Multipla, oops sorry again I mean the BMW iX, oops sorry again I mean the BMW XM. Sad that BMW now have two of the worst looking cars I've ever seen.

Thanks for the comment! I usually get negative comments because I mention it in eveeery video 😂

Haha, I'm not sure I've ever noticed that
Same with the 8 series in the GC looking better than the coupes. Speaking of that, I saw an M8 today!

Excellent Mr Rodie! It also has a nice rear, just a bit more than flat.
What a stunning colour!
Great vid mate👍

Du Pferdestärke du ... Schönes Review! Ich hatte besseres Wetter aber keine Kamera. 🤪 And thanks for showing the head rest feature. I had no idea.
The combustion benchmark to my Polestar 2. But I make a massive saving on BIK. 😀
Mate fix your audio the crackling anddistortion is off putting

You are supposed to say “Hey BMW” not “Alexa”
Just not sure it looks that great, styling wise. The previous model is very nice looking, not so with this
Because the 2022 4 GC doesn’t come in Xdrive
Did you miss the bit where the one in this video is xDrive? 🤣

He's correct yours is a dwindling opinion. People are admiring the aggressive face and it's selling.
Sorry Tim, but what's a 3 door 4 series? Last time I looked, they were 2 door coupes! Anyway, we all get brain fade at your age!!😅
it's ugly with fake plastic...
I hope in the spirit of CoP26 you walked to Germany. #we’redoomed
Yeah, no
The previous 4 series was pretty. This one is not. As simple as that.
Noooo
That's simply your myopic opinion that cannot understand or accept a Big aggressive sports saloon needs a Big aggressive sports grille.

You're so miserably myopic and under the whole point of this aggressive design. Thats whats sad to see.
