Dante is confirmed to have the Pierce skill in the HD remaster, so he is effectively a reskin of Raidou who many saw previously as superior because he had pierce while Dante didn't. I just hope he is a cheap dlc in the west or hell even a free one since we have to wait an extra half year for it to release over here.
I think Rebellion deals electric damage because of the elemental amulets that can be found in DEE EM CEE TOO, and if I remember correctly, Dante starts with the electric amulet equipped. I know they only work when he is in DT, but since he's using Rebellion here and not Alastor, I don't see any other explanation of why it's not a physical attack move
I mentioned it a reply below but I figured I'd point it out. Pretty sure Damte is using Alastor during his round trip animation which is a lightning based sword from DMC1. His outfit looks like the DMC2 one though so it would make more sense to let him use rebellion or sparda but for whatever reason they didn't.

I'm not ashamed to say when Dante was missing, I had no interest in getting this but now he's DLC I'm 100% getting this. Don't know if Reuben could pull off the voice for DMC2 Dante though. As we know it's DMC2 Dante in looks but DMC1 Dante in personality who is way more laid back, provocative, and cocky. Modern fans would know these traits best with Nero. Reuben's Dante isn't usually any of this, being more fun loving. I'd be beyond hyped if they brought back Drew for this version but saying that Reuben will probably be fine if he's voicing. Now they should add Vergil DLC, that would blow up the internet.
You don't understand how this rerelease works. Even before the Dante DLC if you wanted Dante you could just get the PS2 version or get it off PSN. Raidou was an absolute treat for MegaTen fans, and Dante doesn't even play a major role in the damn game.

Monster Hunter World has Dante's sword as thunder element there as well; in lore Alastor IS an electric based weapon so its not illogical that these cross-overs have it that way. Gameplay wise I would prefer them to be non-elemental. Or in the case of MHW, make it hidden element so you can choose.

I've recently started playing SMTIII Nocturne. It's pretty tough, but it's very rewarding when you overcome challenges.
Both of the devil triggers in DMC3 are personally my favorite. because there are so many designs for Dante and Virgil DT and it looks good on them, while playing the game.
