1. I didn't say that Vergil's DT is a normal one.
I think that the fact Vergil would even ask the question "On that day, if our positions were switched..." is a very clear sign than his time as V affected him greatly, and the fact that V was so distraught with his actions shows that deep down there was always some doubt in Vergil
I have an unhealthy obsession with Bury the Light.
I think this does bear pointing out that the reason Vergil hasn't learned yet is due to his crippling childhood trauma. That sort of thing can prevent people from doing very obvious moves that one logically should be able to come to otherwise.
To think this started as a Resident Evil 4 prototype.
I love DMC so much XD
DMC story is both simple and deep at the same time
Bro I referenced your other dmc video the other day when I was trying to explain to a coworker why dmc and god of war were always deeper than people gave them credit for.
In my opinion DMC3 wasn't about human side vs demon side. It was about motivation and responsibility. Dante bested Vergil because his reasons were beyond "power", he took the responsibility for it. (The whole "my soul is telling me tylo try to stop you) I think Dante truly embraced his demonic side only when he achieves Sin Devil Trigger. Thats why Dante hardly used DT in cutscenes before 5.
Everyone cares so much about how "dante lost" or "Nero beating Virgil". FFS Dante peaced out and Virgil ended it on a stalemate having accepted Nero as his son, there was no beating and no physical victory, all 3 devil hunters just accepted each other and were able to move on with their lives. The fight was always internal and not external
Vergil’s on par with Dante at the end of 5 precisely because he’s opened up more to his humanity. You assuming he is still actively fighting it is erroneous. Look at their interactions in the post credits for all the proof you need.
My read on Trish's "you can't kill your own father" bit is that she's seen Dante's fall into a depression that he didn't get out of for almost a decade, knowing what Nero has in Fortuna, doesn't want Nero to go down a similar path.

Ok, a few things.
I like how Nero's DT is the mosr human looking, even though Vergil's DT and both of Dante's DTs are so badass looking
"To sip the Monster Energy through, a man must fight for it. Even if the one who stands before him is his kin"

The way I like to look at Dante and Vergil's motivations are with a mental phrase.

The DMC fandom: Nero is an innocent child
