@@SyperDT dmc 2 could use a remake. It had a lot of problems but it also had a few good ideas and some interesting story ideas. Too bad it was easily the worst in the series because I actually like the design of Dante in it. Easily my favorite design for him. His trademark Rebellion came from dmc2 as well so its not like the game doesn't contribute.

Well at one point before defeating Mundus, he pretty much sought vengeance on the demons never knowing who killed his mom he killed most of them assuming he would get the right one, so in a way he's pretty much Doom guy.
Anyone who has played the entire DMC series would know he's both. Dante rarely takes things seriously, but when he does, you'll wish it was Doomguy after you.

I like the implication that there were several more Fiends, but that Dante had actually killed them. It makes the competition for the Menorahs feel more natural.
Jesus, Dante appear out of the darkness and sprinting after the player is way scarier than it should be. And that moment when you step out of the door and he is just there, staring you down until you make a break for it gave me goosebumps!

All jokes aside this is the one SMT/persona game that is nearly a horror game. It’s literally about ending the world and becoming a demon and destroying everything so that a new world can be born. It’s like devil man cry baby and neon genesis put into a video game.
It might just be the inner sadomasochist in me when it comes to games like this, but I was honestly disappointed that there's no way to make Dante pull out his DT, in neither this nor the original game. A perma-buff to all his stats & regenerating some hp each turn sounds like *exactly* the kind of thing Atlus would throw at you for a boss, luring you in with his comparatively low 5000 hit points only to blindside you once his health goes critical. "Okay kid, you got some chops. But, let's see if you can really play in the big leagues!" *Devil Trigger*

Its actually confirmed in MegaTen 25 anniversary book, after the conception Dante has no demonic energy so in here, he hunting as part of human since his demonic energy somehow can't be refueled, but he get his power back after killing Beelzebub many times and jumped to the portal after hearing Sparda voice.
Everytime I see the DMC2 outfit, I always expect the guy to be silent most of the time or rarely speak, So it really just feels surreal to see this version of Dante make some quips and have some fun, and even voiced by Reuben.

As someone who was ready to see this on my first playthrough and had played through all of the games (and has only 100%'ed DMC2, please forgive me for sins) and was already a MASSIVE DMC fanboy...my GOD I was so hyped to see him and hear good ol' Langdon. I mean, yeah...it's a little jarring seeing DMC2 Dante who's a stoic, older, more mature Dante in DMC2 being the cocky Dante we all know from the other games here...buuuuut I also think Langdon's performance was genuinely AMAZING and justifies it. Honestly, really all of the voice direction is for this Remaster is outstanding!

Yes, a bunch of character design, enemy designs and environmental design from Kazuma Kaneko. You can see it most in the Devil Triggers and some elements of the towers design, ie Geometric parallel lines on everything, like Beowulf, DTs, the Tower itself, etc. Kazuma Kaneko has a very distinguishable design style.
Reuben Langdon is essential to Dante's voice and character. Shame that he's DLC only, but once I buy SMT3 Nocturne HD, I'll purchase the Dante DLC first! BTW, you got Nyx, who caused the protagonist to sacrifice himself to save the world on your team in this occasion!?

Dante's music track, him wearing that stylish DMC2 design (the only good thing from DMC2), and chasing you down like Nemesis is what makes this game so special/iconic for me. 😍

Dante, Bayonetta and Sora are all prefered in English as their voices suit the personalities and designs. Sora being an odd but real case because the Japanese versions of KH offer an English dub because Haley just gives off that Disney vibe
Long story short. DMC3 director made a deal with SMT3 director. Atlas can use dante for the english dub if the main demon artist works on designs for DMC3.
So I didn't know the difficulty would choose the character so I went normal and got Raidou was dissapointed to find out about it when I saw Raidou appear for the first time and searched it up. Halfway through the game I realized Raidou was dope so imma go Dante on my second playthrough.
The difficulty option doesn’t influence which character you get. At the title screen you have two options for new game ( three if you’re on PC ) New Game: ( PC only ) this has neither dante or raidou and removes a lot of content New Game Chronicles: Raidou New Game Maniax: Dante
@@FazPersona Hells yeah, I haven't played SMT 3 before so this was my first experience with the story but I had played 4 and Apocalypse and a little of Strange Journey and all of the Persona games so i'm not blind to the gameplay but I have been having fun and I might replay again after Dante so I can find all the secret stuff and check out the different endings.

I bought the game for the " Featuring Danter from the Devil may cry Series" tag. Was not dissapointed. Well... maybe at the end. He encourages the player towards going all the way to the bottom. I thought it would lead to an outcome he would approve, but instead its the most evil ending. I wish there would be a bonus scene after the "things return back to normal" ending. Like the opening scene with him. Him staring from a distance, Giving a line like " I knew you had it in ya kid. Adios".

I wish you had the ability to enable English language only to Dante. Because that's the only char in the entire game that I don't like in Japanese (he sounds weird, never got used to that voice).

Dante, Bayonetta and Sora are all prefered in English as their voices suit the personalities and designs. Sora being an odd but real case because the Japanese versions of KH offer an English dub because Haley just gives off that Disney vibe

Long story short. DMC3 director made a deal with SMT3 director.
Atlas can use dante for the english dub if the main demon artist works on designs for DMC3.

So I didn't know the difficulty would choose the character so I went normal and got Raidou was dissapointed to find out about it when I saw Raidou appear for the first time and searched it up. Halfway through the game I realized Raidou was dope so imma go Dante on my second playthrough.
The difficulty option doesn’t influence which character you get.
At the title screen you have two options for new game ( three if you’re on PC )
New Game: ( PC only ) this has neither dante or raidou and removes a lot of content
New Game Chronicles: Raidou
New Game Maniax: Dante

@@FazPersona Hells yeah, I haven't played SMT 3 before so this was my first experience with the story but I had played 4 and Apocalypse and a little of Strange Journey and all of the Persona games so i'm not blind to the gameplay but I have been having fun and I might replay again after Dante so I can find all the secret stuff and check out the different endings.

@amosalofsteel9274 I do think he has potential as when he speaks more snarkly, it fits Dante, but the tone changes when the line sounds edgy.
I bought the game for the " Featuring Danter from the Devil may cry Series" tag. Was not dissapointed. Well... maybe at the end. He encourages the player towards going all the way to the bottom. I thought it would lead to an outcome he would approve, but instead its the most evil ending.
I wish there would be a bonus scene after the "things return back to normal" ending. Like the opening scene with him. Him staring from a distance, Giving a line like " I knew you had it in ya kid. Adios".
