- Thank you for pointing out some interesting things I had no idea about in the comments! Went on today to test all of them / complete some requests to show more details I missed~ it was super fun finally getting them!
Crazy how Dante doesn't care about V and only wants to kill Urizen while Nero took care of V despite having to give up killing Urizen. This was a very good foreshadowing of the way Nero and Dante handle Vergil. Nero is focused on saving his human side while Dante is only focused on stopping his demonic side
It’s even funnier because Vergil is Nero’s father, so Nero is taking care of Half of his father V without realising it 😂 and Dante only remembers Vergil because of his demonic side, he had already been through Vergil’s bullshit ever since Dmc3 😂

It is also in mission 13. Many don't know this, but in the final floor of that mission, there are two paths in certain corners of the area that get unlocked when you destroy those red things. They lead to two giant red crystals, further proving that mission 13 is meant for red orb grinding. Depending on who you're playing as, you'll get special dialogue showcasing the characters thoughts:
Nero: Wait for me Kyire, I'll be home soon.
V: I'll never make the same mistake again.. I will... regain myself.

@@WaterExplosion40 one of the two holes that takes you to the big red orb deposits. They are both cover by qliphoth roots which you can break. Its the longer one with a thin bridge right before it. He always says it when crossing it.

@@koleszgdanska7149 When I beat the game and replayed mission 3 - flying hunter, hearing Nico say that again made some sense to me. Instead of using her grappling device you can choose to use your own grappler too since Nero got his "arm" back. I thought it was pretty funny and clever they put that in there
I'm sure in DMC6 Nico will have made him a new "gauntlet" that'll give him the gameplay abilities of the Devil Bringer from DMC4.
2:34 I actually managed to get a tie with Vergil and the line was, “Well look at that, a tie. Are we ever gonna settle this?”
I like how Dante is hyper fixated on gunning it to get to Urizen and kill him, but is actually pretty nice to V all things considered. I’m aware Visions of V says Dante didn’t know V was Vergil’s human half, but I feel like the game has a lot of examples like that that show he does know who V is, as much of their dialogue together shows the two are pretty familiar with each other.
It also makes sense considering his reaction to V wanting to “end” Urizen, as he intended to kill the demon himself but was willing to let his brother make amends, but realized too late what he was actually doing. It’s kinda interesting how Dante gets a lot of Vergil’s reasons for his motivation wrong and that’s part of where their conflict came from. Not all of it by any means, but it does a bit of depth to their rivalry.
I've always interpreted it as Dante knowing that V was associated with his brother, but not in the literal sense that he's Vergil's half. But then I remembered Dante aknowledging that Yamato seperates man from devil, iirc it's even implied he knew this all the way back in 4, so he definetly got time to come to the obvious conclusion (I still think there's a time frame where he didn't excatly know who V was, such as the prolouge scenes in the manga). And besides, harming V probably wouldn't make things any better (the whole "make ammends" thing not realizing both sides will and have to reconcile)
Your statement on Dante getting Vergil's ideology twisted ("You've been chasing this for an eternity, and it's nothing but useless sh1t"), both game and manga have many hints that Vergil got a lot of things wrong about his brother as well. "You never lost anything!" and thinking Dante was always the "favored" one (final M9 cutscene and some VoV dialouge) leads V/ergil to think in such a resentful, bitter, jealous, incredulous way towards his brother (until his rebirth). Kinda fits in how they really are two sides of the same coin.
Interesting thoughts
Dante is just a good person, and he knows V is human AND technically, his client. Obviously he doesn't want anyone getting hurt. He may have had some off feelings about whom it may be, but things didn't click until the very last moment when he began to gun it towards him during the unification.

I love how Vergil just goes "interesting" when someone does something he doesn't expect when fighting. Just gives him a reason to attain more power. ;P
I've seen a video of a Japanese swordmaster reacting to film footages of sword fights in movies and anime. A few scenes got a low score, but he doesn't outright say it's wrong or impossible, but more of "with the right condition of the situation" or "that pose could be improved (but maybe not recommended in actual fighting)". True masters are humble, they'll learn more that way.
This game is just so great. It retains that 2005 creative energy.

The co op in this game is so good but its so limited. Can we do like a petition or something to have them put it in the story and bloody palace. Even vergil just lock him to higher difficulties
I think they taking the story very seriously, so putting two characters together at times when they shouldn't be, wouldnt make sense, they would have to force the story around coop
- but instead they made the story in a way that the characters has to split up to deal with multiple things - and on the other hand, DMC always has been a single player experience, so I say let them experiment one small step at a time

Speaking of rare dialogue, I'm surprised I haven't heard many people talk about a rare voiceline when you use Nero's EX Shuffle "Why won't you DIE!?"
I've only ever gotten this voiceline while in The Void and working combos together, might be tied to a demon's healthpool and depends on how many times you use Shuffle on one demon
There is also one more with Nero using Buster while Vergil is flying, after you get the first voiceline, it is then replaced with a satisfying "Jackpot!". Guess the saying runs in the family
Figured out yesterday Nero yells "You won't remember your name when I'm done with you!" only when you buster Urizen 2💀

The jackpot line to vergil is if the final hit is from a buster move (either grabbing when he's flying or when he kneels on the ground with his clone or not) The buster while he's flying only has the one voice line when you first do it. But a fun fact, interrupting vergil while he's flying either through buster or another arm super move, it'll play the vocal parts of the song that plays during the fight (story mode not bloody palace).

An oddly rare one would probably be Nero yelling "Hey asshole" when doing a Rainbow (dropkick).

I really loved that they put a few dialogues in each boss fight. It was a nice touch to the game.

Man mission 13 if you get lucky to pair up with another player is one of the best missions in the game.

It was, as well as co-op bloody palace and divergence mode, where any character can go through any mission

The co-op mod is a pretty cool thing through Nucleus Co-Op and Vortex, I was unaware there were actual voicelines between the characters. It's also funny when someone has to load in behind the other players, it looks like they're a schizophrenic because the enemies only show on their instance.

The hardest interaction to get Imo is the dialogue you get during the credits with Dante and Vergil when you both tie.
I really love them talk the blue bird demon was so fun to hear him talk with his lazy uncle voice.

Vergil’s summon swords are a good way to build up royal guard
Well the dialogue for the vergil and dante tie has now been caught on footage. Its in the dmc 5 stream of a vtuber named koseki bijou from hololive and dante said something along the lines of "well, look at that a tie. Are we ever gonna settle this?" Though I dont think vergil has a reply

Hence why he never really gets over the Deadweight quip, even by the end.

Yo I do want more co op options in devil may cry; partly cause it'd be fun, but also because I want to hear more casual banter as well as conversation between these characters. Their personalities are so much fun and diverse alongside being colorful and badass; adding in banter between them like this could make the game so much deeper in a way. Imagine Dante and Lady recalling old jobs they did either separately or as a team, or Nero and V chatting about non-world ending things with V showing a kind of fatherly side? Dante giving off uncle vibes to nero, maybe showing a bit more kinship. idk, maybe pt 1 of the Last of Us is spoiling me XD

Funny enough, I remember my first time beating Virgil, I remember catching him with Nero saying his line. But the best part about that was Virgil was low enough that the slam Nero does was enough to beat him. It was a very stylish way to end that fight for my first playthrough.
Casey and Victor _did_ end up making new music, funny enough! I think they ended up making something new like less than a week ago as I'm writing this, though my timing may be off. Look them up and check them out!

If the co-op mode in this game had been better developed, it would undoubtedly be the best mode in this game.

Nah man, it’s good, it’s pretty hard to notice at Vergil when a lot of demon keep spawning. You did your best
there's another dialogue Nero has in prologue mission. He comments about dante taking too long and asking himself who that demon guy is. i usually get it on the way to urizen after the 2nd battle when there's empusas spawning. you do have to wait a bit to get it to trigger

I managed to get a tie accidentally in that last fight alongside vergil, I didn't even know it was a possibility.
You can also get a voiceline "How does it feel thrown like a ragdoll" when you Buster DT'ed Vergil with his clome around 3+ times (I've got it through DMD since he heals too much I've got the opportunity to multiple buster him)
I don't know though if you also need to catch his flying attack to start the trigger

For the Vergil quote with Dante you have to parry with the interceptor summon swords of Dante. Meaning the gunslinger version.

I thought “starring” feature was a recording. So seeing recording in mission 13 should lead to a character hitting the air considering you can and probably will reposition enemies by interrupting the combos.
No, the Staring system is real time gameplay. It's only a recording if you're offline, which is probably why that mission is single player if you're offline

I never ran into a player so this is wild
The mission 13 one blew my mind, but it's sad how difficult it is to experience. During the game's launch, I still got paired up with a lot of players, but in this mission, I somehow lost them very quickly. Maybe I went too fast, or too slow, or they died, or they got disconnected, or they got lost, or they quit, or they entered the level before me, or after me. If I play now, nobody gets paired up, because what are the odds of anyone playing that level on the same difficulty at the same time as me, and not as the same character as me, and neither of us plays Vergil?
hm, I didn't really paired up while playing, until I tried my best to record this video - some tips: don't use super-version skins, and try different difficulties, and different characters - you can also go afk and wait a bit, cause someone can drop in and out in the middle of the game - you can also try turning spoiler filter off, or invite a friend :3

DMC 5 will always piss me off for having actual in game co-op but literally never implementing it like at all. Mission 13 of the only mission where there's full on direct co-op and it's just 3 simple rooms with a group of enemies. The Vergil dlc should of added an update for full co-op once you beat the game once.

If you use Nero's dance taunt Infront of Nico and Soldier, Nico will have another unique voiceline too
But I always end up grabbing one enemy and do the dance so I'm not sure if it's necessary for getting at least S or SSS

Guh, I still remember my very first playthrough -- I got to the Angelos, and got a live V to help me out in the fight instead of the DMC Crew.
EDIT: Wait, hang on, you consider the midair grab line from Vergil to be "rare?" Snatching him out of the sky is the single best way for Nero to handle him.

@@mago_lor when you get to the second fight, think he has to have a bit of health gone, not sure how I triggered it but Nero says something to that extent, Urizen wasn't trying while he was sitting, Nero acknowledges it

I felt like the main reason Dante look old AF is probably because of the realistic look and the untrimmed beard he have.
yeah in the beginning he has short hair and less facial hair, and it grows out after a month when he wakes up :p
