- Just wanted to thank all the comments on my previous video by making one more dmc video :3 hope you like it, you guys are awesome~
Well initially I didn't plan on making this video and had other plans, I just wanted to test if there is any difference between the Dante and Nero fight, but couldn't find anything, except some interesting details I wanted to point out - gathered plenty of footage, so thought why not cut them together :3

Not sure if this is a unique dialogue when playing Vergil but during the demon killing competition you have with Dante at the end, if somehow you tie scores with Dante he will say something in the lines of "What? A tie? I request a rematch!"

@@zakkymiftahurrahman1665 Practice really, if you know how to chain judgement cuts with doppleganger while in SDT, you'll clear the area quite fast.
I was just about to write this, it caught me by surprise when I got this dialogue.
1:29 if anyone is wondering btw, this is a dubbing error, not the wording but the tone Vergil is addressing it in. What Vergil really meant was that he didn’t have any idea what Dante was going on about until he eventually understood the implications in that.
yeah it turned out to be a translation difference, checked the japanese version and it makes more sense now :3

I had always read his tone like that. Like he didn't really register what Dante had said until the fight ends.

That's one thing I always really appreciate about Dante and Vergil, that despite being lifelong enemies, they're still brothers. If not for Mundus, I can all but guarantee the two would have been best friends.
Vergil pretending to walk away then stabbing you is definitely a reference to DMC 3, when Vergil stabs Dante with the Rebellion.
He walks away, Dante tries to get up, and then Vergil turns around and stabs him into the ground. It's the same cutscene as the "foolishness" line that was in the video

Quick FYI. 1:31. The reason vergil sounds like he knew about his son in the fight is a translation error. In the original japanese he says something like "Son? What are you talking about?" But we got it mixed up somehow

If you use Dante's summoned swords with the gunslinger style against Vergil's mirage blades, Dante says "You can't always have it your way!" to which Vergil replies "Interesting..."

There's a dialog you missed when you play as Dante, if using Devil Sword Dante you activate its spirit swords by holding down the style attack button with DT then switch to GUNSLINGER, Dante will say "You can't always have it your way."
I think it also activates if you have gunslinger style, and summoned swords active, either by being in DT or activating dsd's buff
Dante will send his own swords after vergil's!
This is a bit late but Nero also says "Jackpot" and "You will accept my existence" if you buster the dive bomb from Vergil, Nero also says "I'm tossing you around like a ragdoll" if you buster Vergil too many times when fighting him
really? I never heard the ragdoll dialogue

1:23 Fun Fact: in a different language when Dante reveals Vergil has a son, in English of course Vergil just says "My son, means nothing to me!"
But in one of the different languages he gets confused and goes "Wait... My son?"

I ended up checking out the japanese version - makes a bit more sense. Vergil said something along the lines he "didn't know about he has a son" / "I don't know what you're talking about" and instead of saying "Are you still wounded from your fight with Nero" - which is confusing cause they didn't fight- he says "Is the wound you got from Nero still hurts?"
The 'are u still wounded from ur fight with nero' is just vergil trying to insult dante because vergil still managed to continue fighting even after he did an extra fight with nero but dante didnt
"My son...means nothing to me." Probably is a weird way to say that Vergil doesn't understand what Dante said, but it sounded like Vergil doesn't care if he has a son.
Vergil saying his son means nothing to him is Vergil simply not acknowledging anything Dante is saying by that point because he's so focused on the fight but he pieces it together eventually at the end of the fight when he has a second to actually think. Thats why he's less cold about Nero being his son afterwards.
Also Vergil saying about Dante being wounded from his fight with Nero is simply Vergil taunting Dante because of the hard slap Dante got that made him essentially just tap out and take a breather to let Nero and Vergil fight it out.
I hope we can play as Vergil in dmc 6, in the main campaign, and we can defeat nero using Vergil 100%

1:30 might also be he's so enthralled in the fight, he doesn't give it weight, letting his ego overtake to prevent the revelation from distracting him from the fight.
We know at this point he does NOT like to deal with his emotions and has very defensive and aggressive reactions when he feels vulnerable, lmao

1:29 I always viewed that response from Vergil is him way too into the fight with Dante to realize what was revealed to and once he cools off a bit he fully processes that information hense at the end of their fight Vergil brings the topic back with him asking Dante about Nero being his son
Dante should have the following dialogue during the demon killing contest between him and his brother:
If he kills less demons than Vergil: “You beat me this time… but the battle’s just begun!”
If he kills the same amount of demons as Vergil: “Look at that, a tie. Are we ever gonna settle this?”
If he kills more demons than Vergil: “Took out more than you did. You ready to accept defeat, Vergil?”

It for the turn back before stab, it could be a reference to the same cutscene, but including the later half of the scene where he uses the rebellion to stab Dante as well

If I recall correctly, Vergil uses the teleport stab in two situations: He's kicking your ass and wants to rub it in, and you're kicking his ass and he uses it as a reversal attempt.

In the second fight, Vergil is both tired and don't want to kill his son so he didn't use fully his strength to fight Nero because he only want to settle the matter with Dante, not Nero
Honestly I doubt that Vergil was going easy, he’s not the type to go easy on anyone, not even his brother. So I doubt he’d go easy on his son whom he’d never met
Also Vergil asked Dante that if he beat Nero would that mean he would beat Dante by extension, and Dante said he didn’t really care. So that means if he beat Nero he would settle his score with Dante, another reason he wouldn’t go easy him
@@reconjosh1517 That’s why when Vergil start phase 2, he felt that he’s about to lose so he use Sin Devil Trigger to fight with more power against Nero but the mostly reason is still he was tired

1:31 I’ve heard from others that the line is a translation error. In JP, Vergil’s response is more along the lines of “My son? I have no idea what you’re talking about.”

Vergil isn't cold. He's a Tsundere. That's why his interactions with Nero is also weird. IT's almost like he doesn't want to involve him and be safe. If we actually get to hear the story of who his mother was, then we'll find more clues on whether or not Vergil was just being cold to him. We can see that it shouldn't be the case where he sees Nero as pest since we get to see V interacting with his family and their friends.
I remember if you play as Vergil and taunts Dante too much, Dante will sometimes say a dialogue, asking Vergil to take this seriously or smth.
I never noticed some of these but seeing dante chilling during the fight is funny
You forgot the dialogue fro when Nero uses his buster moves on 1) the doppelgänger and Vergil in DT, and 2) when countering the “prepare to die” divebomb attack
I know about bustering Vergil, but Nero doesn't say anything interesting so I didn't include it o-o and I honestly don't know how to counter the divebomb attack :D

Alright so in DT as Nero and while SDT Vergil is stunned on the ground if you buster him the Doppelgänger will pop up, but in DT pressing buster again will also grab Vergil and will result in a unique line
You forgot the detail where when you buster Vergils flying rush attack as Nero, Nero says “You will accept… My existence!” As he absolutely drops Vergil

7:06 Vergil reflecting without even looking at dante
An interesting thing that most people don't tend to notice in regards to boss Vergil fights (And only the Vergil fights as Nero and Dante, the 2 part duel against dante as Vergil doesn't seem to have those) is that both songs ("The Duel" & "Silver Bullet") appear to be completely dynamic.
"The Duel" starts out with a rock-like instrumental with distorted guitars, there's also bits of a synthetizer playing reminiscent of "Vergil 1" from DMC3, it starts out as Dante's song with bits of Vergil's leitmotifs. Then when Vergil busts out his shiny new Sin Devil Trigger, the track does a 180 and shifts over to an orchestral composition and backup guitars. The song inverts itself, mainly having Vergil's leitmotif with elements of Dante's.
Then (Probably when Vergil's SDT runs out) the song shifts to a neutral but unstable mix. A choir singing Dante's and Vergil's names can also be heard until the end of the battle when the song branches over to the cutscene version.
"Silver bullet" is much more obvious and involve the player much more. The song starts out as a violin piece but when either Vergil's health drops to around 20/33% Idk or Nero activates his Devil trigger the song transitions to an instrumental boss remix of Nero's standard battle theme. Then the player can switch over the remix to a vocal variant if a Nero in DT grabs a staggered vergil in SDT then presses the grab button again when Vergil tries to summon a doppleganger when nero tries to grab him. Nero will grab both Vergil and the clone and slam their heads together then immediately afterwards the track will shift to vocals.
Yeah I noticed those music shifts, but didn't know about Nero's buster can start the vocals o-o hm

You actually forgot about some phrases
If you grab Vergil as Nero during his dive bomb, Nero says: “You will accept my existence!”. Also, if you use summoned swords on gunslinger style to block Vergil’s mirage blades, Dante says: “you can’t always have it your way!” And Vergil will say “interesting”. Also when you deal enough damage to Vergil as Dante, he will say: “Think you can beat me? Not in million years”, Vergil will say: “Say that until you win, if you can”. There’s probably more phrases but I forgot

8:37 Dante's probably enjoying his last moments on the surface, because he knows what he needs to do next after the fight. Based on DMC 1 dialogue, he says that the sky is fair and that it will always be up everyone's heads, however he's just seizing the moment to see the sky for one last time before he goes to the underworld for a very long time.

1:30 my head canon of this part is because Vergil is in a very intense state of the fight so he blurted out like that.
The massive human structures in the background of the ending sequence fight with Dante and Vergil, coupled with the tall white grass stuff in the fields remind me of the wandering souls in greek mythology who go to Asphodel in the afterlife. Pretty sick stuff but could also just be absolutely a coincidence.

I believe there’s a Dialogue that if Vergil don’t kill any demons at the end. He states: “So what if number don’t matter, I won’t lose at all!” Or somewhat like that.

If you block Vergils summon swords with Dante's summon swords ( devil trigger using gunslinger) you get something nice
Vergil and Dante were going at it with their new forms and all it makes perfect sense why he’s a bit “worn out” with Nero
correct me if im wrong, but when Vergil uses SDT in mission 19 it'll heal him immediately as well as heal him over time but not in mission 20
the whole "Your death shall end your nightmare." is a phrase V uses when nightmare uses Domination.
I could look more into it, I swear V said it 3 times in a row when I fought vergil

I think when he says "fight with Nero," Vergil is jokingly referring to the bitch slap Dante received.
I mean, it's not really dialogue and ig many people know it already, but if you do the EX taunt as Vergil, Dante also does his EX taunt. But he must be in a state between attacks so it sometimes is a bit hard to pull off

One thing I found interesting, maybe it’s just me but I feel like Vergil waits a little bit before attacking Nero where for Dante it’s immediately either summon swords or a stab. I don’t know why in this video Vergil attacks Nero almost 3 seconds in but for me. He’ll walk around a bit, and after maybe 5 - 6 seconds if you don’t attack him he’ll attack
you see, thats what I was thinking about putting into the test as well, thats why I started recording the fight - but after a lot of restarting, it seems like sometimes he attacks immediately, sometimes walks around a bit, its completely random and both fights are quite the same I believe, but it would've been a cool detail

I I always found bitter sweet about Vergil is the way he talks about Dante, Nero and Sparda. He acknowledges them as family, and sometimes almost in an affectionate way when he says “little brother” and his taunt were he pulls out the devil bringer ( Nero’s right arm) he states “There is no time for doubt I know what must be done” which to kind implies he has doubt and regrets about ripping his sons arm off, but he can’t sulk when he is in combat. Then Dante doesn’t really show that affection as much. Hell in the first game ( in the Canon) he straight up just denounces his father, hell and only emotion we get is the end of 3 and on wards.
yeah, hm I never considered the no time for doubt part, interesting o-o yeah vergil likes to refer to themselves as brothers and point out they are both sons of sparda, and wants to take pride in it~
I’m convinced there was some kind of patch the game went through at some point because in the final fight as Nero, Vergil can maintain SDT for basically the entire fight but I swear when the game came out this wasn’t the case

He was being sarcastic. Being that Vergil was the one that should be tired given that he fought both Dante and Nero - while Dante did not; and yet wasn't able to keep up with Vergil. This dialogue changes if you kill more demons than Vergil during the credits.

The "Dante fighting Nero" thing probably was Vergil rubbing salt onto Dante's loss. He got bitch slapped so hard it wasnt even a fight. Its probably Vergil indirectly calling Dante weak.

One thing of note in the Nero fight that I find interesting. If you grab Vergil from his flying attack, Nero will say "You will accept my existence." And after a certain health threshold, it will lead to the "are you feeling accepting yet?" exchange. So if you can manage to get Vergil to do the dive attack, which then puts him passed that health threshold, the two lines flow together perfectly.

You can actually grab Vergil when he's doing his flying attack when fighting him as Nero. Nero says this line as he does a wrestling slam on Vergil; "YOU WILL ACCEPT... MY EXISTENCE!!!"

In the Japanese Version. When it comes to his son he says, "My son? ...That means nothing to me." To imply that he was surprised he even had a son. But treated that information like it wasn't important to him.
I think when vergil says are you still wounded from your fight with nero his making fun of dante cuz he had to fight nero and get more tired but he still beats dante in the demon kill count

Apparently the english line is a mistranslation of the Japanese line. I've seen someone mention that in Japanese Vergil says "What does 'my son' have to do with THIS?" Because he doesn't believe Dante that Nero is his child, and he is only focused on fighting Dante, not thinking about someone he has never formally met and has no reason to care about. In that regard it makes sense. Why WOULD Vergil care about Nero if he never met him and didn't know he was his son?

I feel like the "its past your bedtime" is a reference to arkham when he pummels lady. But that just makes me wonder, why did vergil say that to nero? If that was the case why remember arkham?
I think he simply says it because now he knows he is Nero's father, and trying to insult Nero on the fact he is still too young and childish so he came up with this, a perfect combination of being insulting and funny at the same time - while saying "its past your bedtime" to your own son is also a sign of affection ( even if he says it while literally stabbing him )
vergil was most likely mocking dante in his voice line when he wins the credits competition, pointing out that he did better despite fighting nero while Dante didn't. To be honest, you can hear the mocking sarcasm in his voice as he says it.

Apparently there are two more on mission 20 where if you grab Vergil and Nero during his dive bomb attack (the one when he is in his sin dt and flys around the map) he will have a line for doing it two different times.

Actually, there is a small difference between Dante and Nero fighting Vergil gameplay-wise in that Nero has a much easier time staggering Vergil while he is Devil Trigger-ed. Just do a few charged shots, you'll see what i mean
hmm..... maybe because staggering enemies is more beneficial when you play as Nero, since he is all about bustering? ~ indeed I dont remember vergil being staggered much when I play against him as dante

It's most likely just done because Vergil is somewhat tired/hurt from fighting Dante.
