I wish They were made Playable in the Special Edition alongside Vergil. Hell they could have even Brought back Lucia from DMC 2. Have Lady Play thru Nero's Missions. Lucia thru V's Missions, and Trish thru Dante's Missions.

Try different characters via Bloody Palace.

@@LadyAsmodeus that doesn't really make sense: when someone says "fine, i'll do x", they mean that they'll do it begrudgingly, and thus minimally. so it makes much more sense that he's talking about *expending* any effort at all, rather than *expanding* his effort.
also keep in mind that vergil is very arrogant, and he probably expected to win the fight without any difficulty
